Meet Travis Chambers, the genius behind Outpost X, a mind-bending desert hotel that's redefining experiential stays. Travis didn't just wake up one day and decide to build a viral hotel—he first built an ad agency where he worked with brands like Vitamin Water, Turkish Airlines, and Old Navy to create viral social content. After selling the agency for $17 million in 201, he used that capital to create something completely new in the world of hospitality. In this conversation, we dive deep into Travis's unique approach to hospitality, where he blends art, adventure, and immersive storytelling to create an experience like no other. His goal? To push guests beyond their comfort zones in a place designed to make you feel slightly uncomfortable—in the best way possible. And here's the kicker: Outpost X is just the beginning. Travis has developed an elaborate storyline that will eventually connect all of his future properties across the world, building a universe where each stay is part of a larger narrative. Tune in to hear: How Travis generated nearly $1 million on Indiegogo to fund the Outpost X build The genius behind designing a hotel that's more art project than resort, and why some guests call it better than Disneyland while others simply don't get it Why he believes creating immersive experiences will save humanity in an AI-driven world His ambitious plans to tie every future property into a sci-fi-inspired world And so much more This was one of the most amazing, inspiring, and crazy interviews I've ever conducted.  You're going to love it. I challenge each and every one of you to listen to this conversation, especially and controversially the entire last 90min. I also want to stress that this conversation is stemmed from (obviously) our own opinions and personal experiences. It is NOT meant to invalidate anyone else's experiences, or any fears or thoughts anyone else has. This conversation stemmed from the increasing restrictions we found ourselves in last winter here in Canada, and how the planting industry was adopting those types of restrictions. I was particularly curious about how a counterculture industry was slowly turning into one that went with the grain instead of against it. I had figured I would release this episode once we had nationwide, or at least province-wide mandates in effect. However shortly after recording this episode the Freedom Convoy was birthed and really altered the trajectory of everything in this country. We find ourselves now in a much different position, though I am not holding my breathe for the future just yet. I felt this was an important conversation, albeit a difficult one in these times. So I wanted to release it now in hopes that people are more receptive to it than they may have been 8 or 9 months ago. Too many of us cannot engage in civil discourse. Too many of us cannot disagree on topics and still be willing to have conversations with respect and open curiosity. Travis Chambers was brave enough to come on and have this conversation with me. We have had different paths through this journey, but come together to have a conversation about it all. First we cover his planting career and personal evolution alongside it, and then we get into the nitty gritty of 2020 and the Great Unbecoming. We traverse a wide array of topics that have been of importance over the last few years, most importantly the mandates and how that has affected the both of us-and how we see it affecting the planting industry.

This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur Travis Chambers. Travis is the founder of Chamber Media, a firm that takes companies from being product and service sellers to brand builders by doing what he calls story selling through creating scalable social video ads that drive millions in sales. Travis led distribution and content strategy for “YouTube’s #1 Ad of the Decade,” Kobe vs. Messi which amassed over 140 million views. He’s worked with some of the biggest brands in the world including Yahoo, Kraft, Old Navy, Coca-Cola and has been featured in AdWeek, Forbes, HuffPost, and Inc. Magazine. Travis regularly speaks at conferences such as INBOUND, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Google Growth Summit, VidCon, and VidSummit among many others. But, what I love most is that Travis built his business to suit his lifestyle. It was goal from the start. And I’ve asked him to come on share how to do it. www.Chamber.media Everything started when Travis was a kid with 8 mm cameras. He got into the film industry and in his early 20’s had his first kid, his dad got Parkinson’s disease…and cancer…and divorced after working 70 hours per week his whole life. Everything hit him at once. He was working at 20th Century Fox in his dream job making commercials for the movies. Entrepreneurship had never crossed his mind. His “mid-life crisis” hit when he was 23 years old and made him ask what he really wanted to be doing with his life. He realized there was so much more out there, so he left and started Chamber Media to live life on his terms. What are those terms for you, your ideal lifestyle? Autonomy and flexibility Time with family (his was missing the early years with his kids) Work needs to be means to an end Find something you don’t hate that you are good at, that makes you the money for your lifestyle. This is one of the reasons his company has a 4-day workweek for all employees. He could not get this from a job, so he created it and helped others get it. Where does someone start? What do they need to consider to build a lifestyle business? You cannot go and compete in a mature market – it is a race to the bottom. Zero to One by Peter Thiel had a big influence on Travis. You should never start a business that cannot be a monopoly. It needs to be so unique and so much its own thing that it can’t be easily replicated – you may get competition, but they can’t do it exactly like you or get the results you can get. Find your “blue ocean” “Start with a service first. You can always sell yourself as an entrepreneur. And if you can sell yourself to one person, you can sell yourself to 100 and have a successful business.” Get good at your primary niche before branching out. Tell us about what you do and your principles you used to build and now run your business… In the Art of War, one of the main rules is to choose the battlefield. Too often people see a market leader and think they can do it. At that point, it’s too late. Once there is market leader in a mature market, the game is over. You’ve got to choose the pond that is growing into the ocean. The niche Travis found was video ads and buying them doing them before Facebook ads, etc. had even come about. Knowledge does not equate to wisdom. You have to understand industry in and out and use the wisdom gained to see the future. You cannot get good at anything until you say no to almost everything. The values of having a lifestyle business, staying boutique, etc. were extremely important and governed how they operated. Starting out they would only take on projects of $100k in above and would turn down ones below that. 5-6 years in, Travis and the team noticed that they really had a strong leadership layer and had replicated themselves and could now really scale. What have you put in place to allow the business to scale and let you step away? People and process. A lot of things broke as the company grew and their processes got seriously challenged and had to be worked through and improved over and over. Hiring people with the same values, hopes and dreams, and direction that the team has. They also have to believe what Travis and the team believe. Things like making a little less to have a 4-day workweek, etc. What is the most important lesson you’ve learned on your journey so far? The art of doing nothing. Being too aggressive can be the wrong route and Travis is prone to it. Surrounding himself with a leadership team that balances him ad helps bring logic as a group. Most problems don’t have to be solved “today.” Emotion kills. What is a “Story Seller?” A lot of the Fortune 500 focus heavily on building brand and making people feel a certain way about. When you are a small brand, you cannot play the same game as someone with a 100-million-dollar marketing budget. When you are small the best way to go is direct response marketing. It’s the only way to grow. Over the last 30 years, direct marketing has been primarily infomercials and direct mail. You can’t do that with digital or social as people have too much choice. They scroll quick through the newsfeed. At the 34 min mark, Travis talks about developing the “Everything Ad” and how they did it and the results of it. It is best to just listen. What makes a #1 video ad? What are the components that go into it to drive engagement and sales? 7 Ad categories perform best and vary by industry. Category 1: Spokesperson Video. It’s the highest performing. Only 2% of the top 1% of ads are spokesperson which offers a lot of opportunity. Category 2: Product Demo. 50% of the ads are product demos. Category 3: Social Proof. Press reviews, consumer reviews, ratings, etc. Anything to prove the solution is good. Category 4: Dynamic Ads. Creative that is made based on what the person has seen. Category 5: Case Studies. Any kind of empirical evidence that appeals to logic. Before and after, side by sides, scientific, etc. Category 6: Lifestyle. Showing what could be or feel like if someone had the solution. Category 7: Unboxing. Think Christmas morning and opening the surprise, etc. What Travis and his team found by chance is that most of the successful ads that they have done have all 7 of these in them in some way and you should strive to do so in yours. The Everything Ad ideal length is 90 seconds. Hook, Teaser, Problem, Solution, Another Problem, solution while weaving in all the categories (Spokesperson, social proof, unboxing, etc.) Anything else around marketing with video we should know? Pay attention to the news. Apple has highjacked Facebook somewhat. Apple has blocked the ability for ads to continue without an opt-in on its platform which is causing a big drop in ads being served. Travis explains everything that Facebook knows about you, a lot of it coming from paying credit card companies for data. Facebook is going to become more like TV as they won’t be able to retarget at the levels they have been able to do in the past, so the ads are going to really have to make an initial impression to stick.   Best Quote: Start with a service first. You can always sell yourself as an entrepreneur. And if you can sell yourself to one person, you can sell yourself to 100 and have a successful business.   Travis's Misfit 3: Work to live. Don’t live to work. Success and greatness are not the most important thing. Be truly present. Smart has the brains, but stupid has the balls. You can get really far with grit and strategy. You’re live will be judged by how you treat people, either by a higher power or by yourself depending on what you believe. How and why we’re creating so many hooks, to bring more people into our world. Hit me up on IG! @russellbrunson Text Me! 208-231-3797 Join my newsletter at marketingsecrets.com ---Transcript--- What's up, everybody? This is Russell Brunson. Welcome back to the Marketing Secrets podcast. Today, we're going to talk about cheesy videos, thrown out hooks, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff. All right, all right, everybody. I hope you guys are doing great today. Oh, man. I want to tell you about the fun things I've been doing in my life. Well, let me step back. Okay, so those who have followed the ClickFunnels journey for a long time, you know that we're always trying to figure out different ways to get people to join ClickFunnels and to buy my products and all the things. And it's funny, because I get people all the time who ask me, "Why are you still making so many ads and creating products and writing books, and all these kinds of things?" And, for me, it's a couple of reasons. One is I love what I do. So there's the most important thing. Number two is I feel like the things we're doing help us grab different segments of the market and bring new people into our world, which is exciting. Number three, if you've read the book, Crossing The Chasm, we're at the spot now where we have I think penetrated the early adopters and the innovators in our world, and now we are moving across the chasm to try to get the rest of the world to become funnel hackers and to join this movement that we're so excited and so proud of. And so those are some of the things that are happening. And so number four, I think number four, who knows what number I'm on, number four is I feel like I'm trying to create examples for you guys to model. And so there's a lot of the reasons why I do it, and that's one of them. So one of the things we did a few years ago was we hired the Harmon Brothers. You guys know they did Squatty Potty and Fiber Fix, and some of the most amazing viral videos of all times. So they've done I think four or five. Anyway, They did a bunch of videos for us that have gone viral that have been really good, that were really, really fun. And last year, I actually was watching Kaelin Poulin. Those who know Kaelin, AKA the LadyBoss, she grew up in our world doing a lot of our stuff. And it was interesting because about a year ago or so, she started doing these videos and they were like viral videos, but instead of typically the Harmon Brothers style video, they hire actors and actresses and everything, instead Kaelin was the actress in each of the videos. And they were scripted out and they were funny, and I watched these videos that she was rolling out and they were so cool and I was so excited by it. And I messaged her a couple months later just to see how they were going, and I can't remember the numbers, the number I remember my head which could be completely wrong was 6X. She was like, "This has grown our company 6X, these new videos." And I got excited. I was like, "I want to do that, make funny videos." But I'm the person in it as opposed to hiring actors and stuff, but I didn't have the time or the bandwidth. My team, we have a million things happening. And so it's cool though, there's another company that's competitors to Harmon Brothers, but their business model's a little different. Instead of doing one highly produced video that costs $1 million, they do a whole bunch of smaller videos. And so the guy that owns it, his name is Travis Chambers. He lives here in Boise, and so messaged him, because I was like, "If I could do these videos and not have to leave Boise, that'd be amazing." And so we ended up working out a deal, and basically we're doing 12 videos with them where each month we launch a new video and they're fun. So they do all the scripting. I told him, I'm like, "I don't want to think. I just want to show up, film stuff, go home, and then a month later the videos launch and I'm not involved in the process of it." And so it's been fun because their team goes and they do the writing, they do all the things, and I show up and I them. And so some of you guys have probably seen some of the videos. The first one was me with a Coke and a Mentos bottle and a kitchen in an Airbnb we had rented showing if you put a Mentos in a Coke and it explodes and trying to catch all the Coke in a bottle. And the first time, it didn't work. Second time, we put a funnel and it works and you catch way more. And so it's this video, and it's me acting. I know. If some of you are watching it, you've seen me like, "This is cringe-worthy, Russell. You should not be acting." I'm like, "I know, I'm not an actor." But that was the first one we did. Next one we did, it was this lemonade stand scene, which was really funny. We blew things up, and it's hard for me to go back and watch these, I'm like, "Oh, it's so painful for me to watch myself act. It's so embarrassing." Then we did a Mission Impossible theme where they strapped me to a harness and I was drop from the ceiling. Then we did a first person shooter one, which is really fun. And yesterday we filmed the one that was an angel and the devil where I was the angel and I was the devil on a dude's shoulder trying to convince him to use ClickFunnels. And then today we're filming one for the Five Day Lead Challenge with lead magnets and a bunch of other stuff. And anyway, it's just fun. So every other month, we go and spend two days, we knock out two videos, and then we're doing 12 of them. Basically, we're launching one a month. So we're putting these things out there. And it's funny because I guarantee some people, especially I'm sure my competitors, are like, "Russell, you're such a dork. Why are you doing this? It's so embarrassing? Why are you putting yourself out there?" And I'm doing it for a couple reasons, and most of them were the same reasons I talked about earlier. I'm legitimately proud of what we do, and my job, if you've read the Traffic Secrets book, is to create hooks, to grab people's attention so I can tell them my story so then we can make them an offer. And so all these things are just different hooks. Me dropping from the ceiling to get people to OFA challenge is the hook. Me being an angel and a devil and acting horribly, because I'm not a good actor, is a hook to get somebody to stop the scroll so I can tell them my story, so I can bring them into our world. And all these things are that way. So I'm telling you guys this because I know some of you guys aren't making ads because you're embarrassed. "Oh, I look stupid. I'm not funny. I'm not blah, blah, blah," whatever the insert excuse here. Some of you guys are doing it because you don't know how to act or you don't feel comfortable on camera. Do you think I feel comfortable on camera doing these things.? No, I don't not, even a little bit. It's so awkward for me. They were making me do these voices that were so embarrassing. I watched the video afterwards, it's all super cringe-y. But then it launches and, oh my gosh, it grabs people's attention. It stops the scroll and it's bringing new blood into my world. And so that's why I do it, because it's the way I reach more people, it's new hooks to throw out there. It's new creative putting out there all the time. The more creative you put out, the more people you can grab, the more attention you can get. And so that's one of the big reasons. Number two is I'm trying to model for you guys what's working. You look at Kaelin's videos, and if you haven't, go follow their fan page and watch her videos. They are killing it with it. And she's a better actress than me by far. Her videos, I mean, come on now, she's just great at what she does. I'm the dorky version trying to be cool like her, and I'm not as cool as her, but they still work. And so it's modeling, "Why is Russell doing this? This is goofy." Instead of being, "Why is he making these goofy videos?" it's like, "Huh, maybe there's something behind these. Maybe I should try to make something like that. How can I have some fun with it?" I remember when we first started thinking about how do we throw more hooks out there? Dean Grasiozi was the one I was following at the time, and he was putting out so many videos. He was doing magic trick videos. He was doing him and his daughter's soccer game videos. He was doing thing after thing after thing, and I was like, "I need to put out more hooks. I don't even know what to do." And it was hard for me. And so by hiring somebody and putting it in a process, it's something where it's forcing me to put out these hooks way more often. And so, anyways, hopefully, again, I know a lot of you guys, you go and you buy the book, you buy the course, and you hear me talk about throwing out all these hooks. Yes. That's a big part of it, but that's not the full point of it. The full point isn't for me just to tell you about getting hooks. It's for me to actually do it so you can see me and be like, "Oh, that's what Russell's talking about. He actually practices what he preaches. Unlike most of the gurus who just talk about something, Russell's actually doing this. Let's model what he's actually doing anyway." Anyway, so I'm sure if you've seen the videos, that's what they are. If you haven't seen him yet, I'm sure you will see them and they will keep popping up and you'll be like, "Man, that Russell Brunson, he's the hardest working man in this industry. He cares more about this craft than anybody because he's willing to embarrass himself and put out all these hooks." And it's true, because I love what I do. I love my message. I love the people that we're serving. And so I'm willing to be uncomfortable and be goofy to get their attention. It's interesting. I remember hearing, I can't remember who it was, but this is probably a decade ago or something, I was studying, I wasn't studying acting, but I was studying actors who were successful, and I remember reading a quote from somebody saying, "If you realized how to be a good actor, you do things that make you feel so uncomfortable then on camera seem normal." And I remember hearing that and I was like, "Oh, weird." And I remember the very first time I was trying to get PR, oh excuse me, I tried to do an infomercial. That was the first time. I tried to do infomercial and I remember my host came on and he was interviewing me on the infomercial and after the first take or so he stopped. He's like, "All right, this is the deal." He's like, "If you talk normal, you sound like you're dead on TV." He's like, "You have to be up like this and super excited and then you sound normal on TV." And so he said, "That's the energy you have to have, it's way up here, to be able to sound normal." And so he kept training me and forcing me to do these things that stretch, that made me feel uncomfortable. He's like, "Take it to the level 10, level 12, level 15," wherever it is. And then he's like, "Now you seem normal." And sure enough, when we watched the infomercial back, I was like, "Oh, it actually doesn't sound goofy. It sounds normal. Whereas if I sounded normal, it sounds like I'm dead." And that was just a big a-ha. Same thing when I did media training before I tried to do my PR the very first time. You've got to grab someone's attention. If you talk like you normally do, nobody's going to pay attention, you're not going to get people's attention. And that was 18 years ago, 15 years ago, whenever it was. Nowadays, it's way harder. How many ads do you swipe through on Facebook or Instagram every single day? How many times has somebody heard about Dotcom Secrets or Expert Secrets or ClickFunnels or One Funnel Away Challenge, and they even ignored it until they saw me dropping from the ceiling like Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible, or until he saw Shoulder Angel Russell fighting with Shoulder Devil Russell. And then all of sudden, they're like, "Wait. What?" And they watch it and they're like, "Okay, I've got to try this thing out." What's the hook that's going to finally get the person's attention? You don't know until you go out there and do it, and do it, and do it. So anyway, that's why. That's the purpose. I hope that it helps. With that said, I'm going to get cleaned up, because in one hour they're picking me up for my next video. This one's going to be goofy too. Not as goofy as yesterday's. Yesterday's, I'm actually really excited for the shoulder angel and shoulder devil one. But today's is one for our Five Day Lead Challenge. Like I said, every single month, we're picking a new video to do and trying new hooks. Some hooks will work, some won't, but you don't know until you throw them out there. So that said, you guys, get back to work. Go make some more hooks. Make some more videos. Throw it out there. Get your audience's attention and try to change the world in your own little way. Thanks again, and I will talk to you guys all again soon.

EP 90: Using Tik Tok and Facebook ads to Grow your Network Marketing Business

Authentic Influencer Podcast

Using Tik Tok and Facebook ads to Grow your Network Marketing Business   “The reason 99% of the people you are competing against (using ads) aren’t going to do anything, is because they are just scared or don’t know how or what to do...but the good news is, it’s really not that hard.”   Travis Chambers   Travis Chambers is a marketing professional who helps others, including network marketers, build their business using video ads for Facebook, TikTok, and other social media platforms.   In a crazy chain of events, both Travis and his wife ended up on Good Morning America for a video they filmed that went viral. From there, an ad agency in L.A. contacted him about getting their video licensed. He ended up interviewing for a job at this same agency and became their in-house viral guru.    Shortly after beginning his new position, Turkish Airlines contacted Travis for help with a video ad they wanted to go viral. That ad became the most shared ad of the decade via YouTube and Google, with 150 million views and over 2.5 million shares.     With his newfound success and media traction, Travis decided to start his own company, called Chamber Media. After six years, they've driven 350 million in sales and created nearly 1 billion views for various organizations. Not only that, but they’ve also tripled the revenue for five multi-million dollar companies all through video and ad buying.   To increase sales, network marketers can drive leads at a $4 or $5 per lead or $2 or $3 per lead. Then your video ad could go viral because it's going to rack up hundreds of thousands of views and potential shares.  Even though it won't be organically viral, it will appear as if it were, which will create a lot of social proof, and many of the same mechanics viral videos include.   “TikTok is really one of the only places where you can get true, true virality very early out the gate...spend 30 hours on TikTok and you’ll get it.”- Travis Chambers   If you’re unfamiliar with TikTok as a network marketer, follow along as we discuss a few essential things to know as you build your online presence using this newer social media platform.    Right now, there are so many views easily given out using TikTok. Now is the time to jump on to the trending dance videos or tutorials to build your influence on this new social platform. TikTok is also a cool way to highlight your creativity and personality. Not only that, but there are also are many excellent video editing tools available within the app that allow you to create tons of video content.    TikTok also has trends, tutorials, and challenges that allow you to duet with other people. It’s as easy as scrolling through and looking for the things that meet your target audience.   To get followers, you don’t even need to incorporate your product every time. Maybe highlight it every three videos or so.   Using Facebook ads really isn’t that hard. The difficulty lies in consistency and sticking with it long enough for the ads to work. Using an email list is a great way to spread your advertising budget. When you upload the list to Facebook, they can create a look-a-like audience that will target thousands of people fitting your correct market.   If you don’t have a list, you can still maximize your efforts, but it may take longer. Facebook will need to learn your audience, which can take time. However, once you get the tracking pixel figured out and automate the chatbot to start closing people, then the sky is the limit to scaling your business.   “I really like it when an MLM company can de-MLM the company and make an e-commerce play. You can really start to scale in the MLM world with e-commerce paid media.”  - Travis Chambers   While people may not care as much about a brand, they do care about the person behind the brand. Highlighting the person behind the product is one way to build followers or increase views. When you have confidence in front of the camera, it’s a powerful place to be because people will know you in a very compelling and engaging way. Although to be successful, it’s a matter of taking the proper steps and enduring the beginning awkwardness.   To learn more about Travis or to contact him via his public email, go to tc@chamber.media, or look him up online by clicking here. Companies now are spending millions of dollars a month on marketing. Last year, digital spending overtook TV, radio, and print. In this fast-paced world, people prefer watching a video than reading an article or an instruction manual, so in order to keep up with your competition, you have to get creative. Video really makes it more interesting and attracts more attention. The good news is, you don’t need to have high-end production equipment – you can make really good video ads on your iPhone – but instead, it’s more important to invest in great copywriters to catch people’s eyes. In today’s episode, I talk with Travis about the future of ad-making and where it is best to put your marketing money in, for a profitable ROI. Travis Chambers is the founder of Chamber Media, a 30 person growth and video agency that tripled the revenue of four multi-million dollar D2C companies in the last 2 years, using quantitative creative, producing and testing modular video content and using it to scale revenue through social ad spends. He’s a Forbes 30 Under 30 lister, has been featured in Inc., Entrepreneur, and AdWeek, and has been a keynote speaker at Google Growth Summit, VidCon, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. So, listen to Episode 219 of Becoming Your Best, to learn the tricks you can use to figure out what kind of ads you can create for your company, regardless of your inventory runway. Questions I ask: How are companies using social video ads to grow? (06:17) What’s a good budget to sustain? (12:13) Where can you find talented writers? (16:36) Tell us, just for a moment, what does your firm provide? (17:44) What does the future hold for social video ads? Where do you see this going? (25:08) In this episode, you will learn: Travis’ background and some of the turning points that got him to where he is today. (01:46) Two examples of companies that significantly increased their revenues through video ads. (07:46) How smaller companies should approach the video ads field. (08:44) The reason why it’s more important to invest in a good writer than into production equipment. (14:40) The seven foundational ads that every account should have. Wouldn’t it be great if your company had a 3-day weekend every week instead of the usual 2? Who doesn’t love long weekends?  Imagine if your company did implement a 4-day workweek, weekends will be longer, and breaks would be shorter, which won’t intervene with the normal business operations. Sounds great, right? The traditional workweek for Americans is five days a week and eight hours per day. When your organization opts for the 4-day workweek, that would be 10 hours per day and equates to 40 hours a week, which is the same as the standard hours an employee is required to render every week. In this episode, we’re going to talk about all the pros and cons of having a 4-day workweek system with Chamber Media founder and Media Hacker, Travis Chambers!   He was featured under Forbes 30 under 30, and he will share his story on how he left the corporate world to start Chamber Media.  Travis will also share how he came up with their unique culture and benefits, how he is handling deadlines in a 4-day working schedule, and how what he’s doing right now allowed him to travel more compared to when he was still hustling in his corporate days. In this episode, you will learn about: How Travis left his corporate job to start Chamber Media How Travis built the philosophy around the 4-day workweek What Chamber Media employees think about the 4-day workweek The benefits of working four days a week The impacts of having four days work week to the business’ operation Handling deadlines The pros and cons of the 4-day work week Connect with Travis LinkedIn Twitter Instagram Chamber Media What did you think of this short bonus episode? Many advertising agencies believe that sexy is what sells in today's marketplace, but Travis Chambers, Chief Media Hacker and Founder of Chamber.Media, takes a different approach. He believes that understanding and relating to the audience is what makes a good advertising campaign: "We all want to be working on the cool, sexy thing." Travis says. "But I've seen some of the stuff that's not very sexy do really well. It's all about performance". On this episode of Marketing Trends, Travis sits down with Ian Faison to discuss his philosophy about what makes a marketing campaign great and how Chamber.Media differentiates itself from the competition. Travis discusses virality and social media, and also how to integrate these new forms of marketing with more traditional campaigns.   Links: Full Notes & Quotes: http://bit.ly/2qqELhO Travis’s LinkedIn: http://bit.ly/2MrQ4yD Travis’s Twitter: http://bit.ly/2VTZar6 Chamber.Media: http://bit.ly/33HGVrx   3 Key Takeaways: - Marketing is not always about what is sexy; it’s about connecting with and relating to the audience. - Social ads are a great way to reach your target audience, but they’re not the only way and should be used in the context of a wider campaign. - The biggest challenge in marketing is making people care about ads. Emotion is the key to accomplishing this.   --- Marketing Trends is brought to you by our friends at Salesforce Pardot, B2B marketing automation on the world’s #1 CRM. 107 | Travis Chamber Shares How to Find Success in Service What is at the core of your sales job? Travis is Founder and Chief Media Hacker at Chamber Media, an agency that makes scalable social videos. In his career, he's been a hands-on Director, Producer, Writer, and Social Ad Buyer. Travis led distribution and content strategy for "YouTube's #1 Ad of the Decade," Kobe vs. Messi with 140 million views, and has worked with brands like Yahoo, Kraft, Old Navy, Coca-Cola, and Amazon amongst others. Every interaction that you have with others that you come across in your entrepreneurial journey has one thing in common... You may not realize it, but everything that you do is helping serve your clients! When you’re pitching, creating products, or whatever it is that you do, when you come at it from the perspective of service, you’ll find yourself far more successful. When I was in college, I served as a cocktail waitress. Now, every time I get on the phone with a client, I am serving them. At the core, I am seeking to serve my clients, and help them! Embracing a mindset of service has changed my business. This week’s guest on Success Unfiltered, Travis Chamber, creates social video ad campaigns at a high level. One of his most devastating NO’s made him sit down and rethink his entire approach to business and changed how he met with his clients. Once he came from a place of service, his business has exploded. Are you ready to change your sales mindset to one of service? If so, then this episode of Success Unfiltered is a MUST LISTEN! Be sure to join us next week for our next new episode! Celebrate Your Rejections In Business! Why? Because the more you get told NO, the closer you are to a YES. True story. Rejection doesn’t mean failure. It means that you’re taking the steps that’ll ensure your success! Don’t let a NO stop you. Let me show you how to keep going after hearing any NO! Grab your copy of my FREE Checklist “5 Ways To Come Back From Sales Rejection” and turn that NO into a WIN! Here are a few key secrets we talked about in this episode: Michelle introduces Travis Chambers. Travis shares about his business, making high-end video sales funnels. His first major rejection was from Ring doorbells - they were uncertain that he could deliver what he claimed! He got the meeting because his team documented behind the scenes of everything they did, and word of mouth about their offerings began to spread. Travis took that rejection to heart, and after the first few days of disappointment, he looked at the feedback to see how he could make his business better as a result. Other campaigns that Travis ran saw results, so he created case studies of what their company could do to share with future clients. When going through the roller coaster of rejection, Travis and his team looked beyond their frustrations to learn. One of the most frustrating things that Travis would hear was not NO - it was the “not NO’s” where clients wouldn’t say NO, but they also never said YES. When working with high price offerings, it really takes a lot of trust building as part of the sales process, including some non-sales events. Show potential clients you are in it for the long haul! Some clients push back and don’t say YES immediately because they want to test your commitment to their project. “Sometimes the most frustrating sales are going to be your biggest ones. And I think it's just because there's a certain amount of element of trust and I think they really just wanted to see how invested we were.” ~ Travis Chambers Your time spent with your clients before a YES or NO is not wasted, because you never know who they could even refer your way. Never count on a sale until the money is in the bank! Sometimes you think that you have all but closed the deal, and the client backs out for whatever reason. “You’ve got to keep the hope and you have to give every person you pitch the benefit of the doubt because you just never know.” ~ Travis Chambers “You just have to persevere with your client because like we're servants; we are serving people and we need to act as servants. We need to have that type of mindset.” “Optimism, positivity, and hope are a sales person's best friends and I spent so much time worrying and having anxiety about whether or not things were going to work out. And the truth is, they're either going to or not.” ~ Travis Chambers Travis shares one thing that he would share with his younger self.
