Is Adrenal Fatigue Real? - 4:29:25, 8.39 AM

Is Adrenal Fatigue Real? Whoa, this just seems like there is so much mis-information swirling around on this topic. We just want to bring this to peoples awareness. This is not an actual real diagnosis. It isn't something that can be completely controlled. This is simply a blanket term that defines the adrenal system as being overworked. You can have symptoms with this regardless if you have high cortisol production or low. And typically this is seen more so during peri menopause and beyond just due to the extra demands on the adrenal system as women lose estrogen. Again, this is a time in our lives to revamp our lifestyles, create more self-care, ask for more help, practice more stress management, focus on a good sleep routine, limit caffeine and be smarter about the use of alcohol. If anyone has any questions, wants to discuss this more in regards to themselves personally or wants to be on the show to talk about their experrience with life changes, please reach out to between2pastries@gmail.com.

Her interest in training stemmed from a desire to break away from the all-or-nothing thinking that was prevalent in the fitness world, but in her early days as a trainer, Jen still struggled with persistent messaging that smaller is better and ideas about "good" vs "bad" foods. Through years of working with many different humans, growing to understand a variety of unique physiologies and life struggles, while also working to undo the physical damage the diet culture mindset had done to her own body as a runner, Jen's fitness philosophy continued to evolve. Now, with over a decade of training experience, on top of her growth as a wife, mother, and a runner, Jen is on a mission to help everyone realize their own personal definition of Fit, Healthy, and Happy.

This episode comes from a listener request. Our friend wrote about a podcast he was listening to and a concept of using will power to overcome eating issues. He was stumped that they were talking about how you can't use willpower to overcome eating issues and was wondering what we thought about that! Well friend, we definitely agreed with the pod you were listening too. If willpower is used for exercising personal choice and personal power without negative feelings, and because you want to experience something other than what you have been, then yes, we can work through eating issues. But when willpower is used as a way to "force" or "will" yourself out of something, this isn't going to work as well. Listen in as we break this down!
