Differences between over the counter (i.e. ordering online, by yourself) pessaries vs prescription? Are pessaries safe during pregnancy? Are there any risks or dangers of long-term use? In this episode with UK-based osteopath Daniel Baines, you'll learn about movement patterns that can unconsciously occur after injury, trauma, or scarring. Dan sees people falling into two patterns: opening and moving away from the injury/scar site, vs closing and moving toward the injury/scar site (more of a protective mechanism). We discuss how this patterning remains in your nervous system even after the injury/scar has healed. Dan shares a SIMPLE home treatment (that you can try too) of treating the nerve receptors via gentle, reassuring touch... you might find that your movement changes completely when you place your hand on the scar tissue site. We also discuss reintroducing safety into the system through hypnotherapy, what it means to move "somatically," the importance of slowing down movement to really FEEL (and heal), and SO MUCH MORE! In this episode I'm joined by Laura, who shares her very personal story of HOPE and healing. After almost 15 years of pelvic pain and constant visits to the doctor, she finally overcame her symptoms by unraveling pelvic tension — something she had never before considered. Laura shares her favorite stretches, how she committed to a daily stretching practice, all the ways her life has improved over the last year of dedicated stretching and release, and so much more! THANK YOU, Laura... Your story means the world to me, and I know it will uplift other women (and men) who are struggling and feeling frustrated right now. Ayurveda is all about living in balance. And the best part? It's about recognizing and having compassion for your OWN personal balance! Ayurveda recognizes that everyone is unique, which is why I love this healing philosophy so much. In this interview with YouVeda founder Gunny Sodhi, you'll learn the heart-wrenching challenge that led him to where he is today, how (and why) he moved forward in a natural way, the definition of adaptogenic herbs (and some examples), why he loves Triphala so much, and his favorite daily ritual ...which also happens to be one of mine.
