On the heels of our interview with author Jack El-Hai, who teaches physicians creative writing as an outlet, we have pediatrician, speaker and sci-fi writer Dr. Teresa Fuller. Dr. Fuller received both her M.D. and Ph.D. at Howard University and has been a practicing pediatrician in the Maryland area for more than 20 years.     In addition to full-time pediatric practice, Dr. Fuller has been a contributing health writer for The Baltimore Times and Demand Media. She is the author of Change 1 Thing: A Doctor's Guide to Permanent Weight Loss, Disease Prevention and a Lifetime of Incredible Health.   She also writes medical thrillers that teeter on the edge of science and science-fiction. She wrote her first novel, Time of Death: The Next Pandemic, way before this pandemic, so you'll hear the story of how she came up with the idea and shopped it around, had it rejected, and finally published. She recently released her second novel entitled The Marked: Extinction which is a young adult sci-fi thriller. We discussed her foray into writing, how she comes up with stories, develops characters, and manages to keep it a hobby, not another to do on your list.

Sometimes our biggest enemy is what lies between our ears. Our mind is very powerful so we must be very intentional about speaking positive things in our lives. This week guest on The Entrepreneurial You podcast , Dr. Cheryl Wood reminds us to  have a positive mindset as she inspires us from her journey.   Here is a snippet of what  Cheryl shared:   “The most negative mindset is I'm not good enough. I'm not capable. I'm not worthy just as I am. I need more. I need something more. So they keep  going out trying to find the next thing and the next thing and get more and get another degree and get another certification; and believe me, ongoing education and knowledge is so critical so important right? We have to continue to add. However, someone somewhere is waiting on what you already know, that they're waiting for right now. So you gotta get out of that mind frame that you are not good enough.  Just because there are people who are already 20 steps ahead of you, everybody's not at that level where they're ready to invest in that coach who's already placed ahead of you.   There are some people who are at the beginning of their journey who need what you know right now because you know more than they know. Just get that out of your mind that you're not enough. You are enough. You are capable and you are worthy just as you are."   Listen to the episode and let us know what is your biggest takeaway.   Connect with Dr Cheryl Wood:   FREE Signature Story Template   Website Facebook  Instagram Twitter  LinkedIn   Visit our Sponsor: Jamaica Stock Exchange   Email: Heneka Watkis-Porter    Support The Entrepreneurial You here fo US$5.00 monthly: https://glow.fm/tey.   Looking for spiritual upliftment? It's time for us to recharge. I have been listening to you #SpeakEasy listeners and you are ready to get back on track in life and business. This is the episode for you. Where do we get a new battery pack? Where do we get what the Energizer bunny has? How do we get that with everything that has been going on in 2020? We are going to dig deep into what that recharge looks like and some of you... it's going to hurt a little bit because some of you will need to unplug from something. Yup, unplug from the news, social media, and yes even some people. It's time to start feeling good again starting from the inside out. Life can become cumbersome at times and makes us anxious. This is the moment when you need to plan your escape. Now, we are not saying run away from your problems but you must find a place that allows you to shut it off. What does that mean? That means a moment to do absolutely nothing. Just be a bump on the log and it's okay to just sit there and do nothing. You know, what that does that refreshes you, that reboots your mind, your body, and your spirit. Could you sit still for 60 seconds? No fidgeting and no looking at your phone. (Many can not) For Dr. Chere, it is not a matter of the time you use to recharge that matters the most. The most important parts of recharging are what you do and are they working for you. Anything from putting on a full face of makeup to taking a much-needed nap can recharge you. There will be some who need to recharge their body through better nutrition. Eating healthier options will often give a natural boost of energy. This is self-care and you need to ask yourself a few questions. Does it make you feel good?Does it make you feel whole? How often do you need to do this? When is the best time for you to do this? Where can you do this uninterrupted? Are you dealing with false sensations? In this episode, Dr. Chere discussed not just the false sensations we may get from some of the foods that we eat but also the false sensations we get from people and certain scenarios in our lives. That temporary high and drop can drain us as entrepreneurs. A relationship, contract, or even a conversation that creates this feeling is a dangerous one. Often times we allow what haunts us to hurt us. Dr. Chere's gems:1. Be okay with walking away 2. Fill your cup3. Get moving 4. Take responsibility 5. Practice saying "NO"Don't allow self-doubt to bankrupt you! ~ Dr. Chere GoodeDr. Chere M.
