In the final episode of our capsule collection with the wonderful folks at Sauced Wine Bar, Anthony sits down with one of his favorite Brooklyn musicians, Anand Wilder, co-founder of Yeasayer and a gifted multi instrumentalist singer-songwriter. The two discuss the dissolution of Yeasayer, Anand's incredible first solo record I Don't Know My Words, the heyday of 2000's Brooklyn, the hard to navigate popularity of natural wine and one of Anand's favorite records, Mellow Gold by Beck. We found a perfect pairing for the asynchronous funk of Beck's major label debut in Fallen Grape Wine Company's debut The Mother, a honey-colored blend of Grenache, Riesling and Semillon from a promising new label out of the Santa Ynez Valley in Central California. Guest: Anand Wilder Album: Beck, Mellow Gold Wine: Fallen Grape Wine Co, The Mother

This week we are doing a special listener suggestion episode, from Kyle Brown, who releases music under the name "Kite Vendor"."DIIV" are a four piece indie rock band based out of Brooklyn, New York. The project originally started after lead songwriter and frontman Zachary Cole Smith left the band "Beach Fossils", for whom he was playing drums for. Cole started by writing and demoing material in his bedroom, not knowing if anything would come of what he was creating, or if anyone would ever hear it. However as his confidence grew he decided to share his new material with the label managers at Captured Tracks, the label Beach Fossils were signed with. The label liked what they heard and decided to put out a couple singles. Off the success of these singles Captured Tracks decided to put out Cole's full-length debut album "Oshin" in 2012.To hear the full story, and a selection of tracks, check out this weeks episode of R2G.To learn the full story, check out this week's episode of Roots to Grooves!"Roots to Grooves" is a production of SIGNL.https://www.signlradio.comhttps://www.instagram.com/signlradiohttps://www.twitter.com/signlradiohttps://www.facebook.com/signlradiohttps://www.mixcloud.com/signlhttps://open.spotify.com/user/96mhz6qfjoztxbl2dpm0uj903?si=aAZpsoEnRAKdx85kr1QWhg

The four piece Brooklyn indie rock band "Grizzly Bear" originally started out as a collection of songs written and recorded by frontman Ed Droste, however feeling that he didn't want to release a solo project, or shine the light on himself, he ended up recruiting fellow musicians Christopher Bear, Chris Taylor and Daniel Rossen in order to bring his project to the live stage, and for a debut US tour.Since those early days the band have released five studio albums and toured the world, opening for massive acts such as Radiohead, and have even composed songs for the "Twilight" movies.Their last album dropped in 2017 and Ed Droste has since announced he has left the band. The future for "Grizzly Bear" may be uncertain, but what is for sure is that they have put out a solid back-catalogue of impressive material and in this episode Jay and Jesse discuss the band's early formation, their approach to music and the guys spin some of their favorite tracks from across the five albums."Roots to Grooves" is a production of SIGNL.https://www.signlradio.comhttps://www.instagram.com/signlradiohttps://www.twitter.com/signlradiohttps://www.facebook.com/signlradiohttps://www.mixcloud.com/signlhttps://open.spotify.com/user/96mhz6qfjoztxbl2dpm0uj903?si=aAZpsoEnRAKdx85kr1QWhg

"Crumb" are an American indie rock band based in Brooklyn, New York. The four piece originally met in 2016 when they were attending Tufts University in Massachusetts. While continuing their studies each of the members were playing in separate bands, dabbling in Jazz, Soul and Rock before they came together to form "Crumb". The group started off by recording two EP's and embarking on a US tour before putting out their full length debut album "Jinx" in 2019. They have been described as psychedelic rock, dream pop and even trip hop, with some commentators likening them to Canadian outfit "Men I Trust" due to their often warm, groovy and jazzy tones. In this episode Jay and Jesse discuss the bands' formation, peculiar studio techniques and spin their favorite tracks from Crumb's discography. To listen to the full episode, including the featured music, visit... signlradio.com"Roots to Grooves" is a production of SIGNL.https://www.signlradio.comhttps://www.instagram.com/signlradiohttps://www.twitter.com/signlradiohttps://www.facebook.com/signlradiohttps://www.mixcloud.com/signlhttps://open.spotify.com/user/96mhz6qfjoztxbl2dpm0uj903?si=aAZpsoEnRAKdx85kr1QWhg

On this week’s episode of Auxoro: The Voice of Music, we sat down with Cautious Clay. He released his debut EP, Blood Type, in February of 2018, but the journey started long before. Cautious Clay grew up in Cleveland and was surrounded by the jazz community. He plays the flute and saxophone among other things, a true multi-instrumentalist. At George Washington University, he started making beats and posting remixes to SoundCloud. It was there, that Finneas, Billie Eilish’s brother, saw one of these remixes and reached out to Cautious Clay. Cautious Clay, Blackbear, and Astonomyy ended up being part of the first remix package of ‘Ocean Eyes’ by Billie Eilish back in 2015. Since then, Cautious Clay has made a lot of music, worked multiple day jobs, and recently quit those day jobs to pursue music full time. In October of 2018, NPR tapped Cautious Clay to perform for their coveted tiny desk concert series. Even if you don’t listen to Cautious Clay, or aren’t an avid music listener in general, this episode has a lot of insight into the overall process of creativity, the effect of religion on upbringing, competition, and other topics that span beyond music. Check out Cautious Clay's latest single 'Honest Enough,' his upcoming tour dates, and full catalog below: Cautious Clay (Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/artist/6iWuBN32BqCJAeXW6o3nil?si=6Uey1WlxRoy7uxqC6eWOCQ Cautious Clay (Apple Music): https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/cautious-clay/1064628701 Cautious Clay on Tour: https://www.cautiousclay.com/shows/ The Aux: https://www.auxoro.com/theaux/ Song: 'Cold War' by Cautious Clay Tiny Desk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VERVVrzLSuo Smoke deGrasse Tyson: https://vimeo.com/138219734 Episode Art: Brian Karlsson (@voyeur1) Intro/Outro Music: Produced by David Grossfeld Mixed and Mastered by Dbsound on Fiverr Auxoro main site: https://www.auxoro.com/ Insta: https://www.instagram.com/auxoro/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/auxoromag/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/Auxoromag
