The playing field has changed in collegiate athletics, but Kaz Kazadi knows the keys to longevity. Get to know the Texas Christian University (TCU) Assistant Athletic Director of Football Human Performance, renowned for his ability to inspire athletes. Follow his roots from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) to playing for the National Football League (NFL) Los Angeles Rams — later becoming a “roaming gladiator” in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and NFL Europe to secure tenure. As a leader in the weight room, strength and conditioning was a natural transition. He recalls choosing a graduate assistantship to embody his “long money” philosophy of purpose-driven education, networking, and positivity. Kazadi compares new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies to free agency and talent acquisition versus recruiting. Additionally, he drills decision-making and delayed gratification as players transition into adulthood. He concludes with advice for creating a coaching network and career vision. Something that creates longevity is always going to be education, a purpose-driven life, networking with people of like mind, positive energy, being consistent, and being positive.” 8:00 “Adapt. Adapt and be positive. That's the first thing you need to do as a performance coach.” 24:00 “My staff is dear to my heart, man. They keep me alive. I think you're only going to be as good as the five people that you spend the most of your time with.” 28:25 “If you want to get into the field, then get into the field. If the NSCA is having their conference, if the NSCA is having their clinic, I'm going. I'm going to shake hands. I'm going to introduce myself. I'm going to have a digital resume. I'm going to do something to meet the people that I want to meet. And then I'm going to follow up on holidays. Then I'm going to follow up with emails, just the old school way.” 39:40

James Barker, is a football executive and coach. He is currently employed by TSN as a CFL panelist. His most recent employment in Canadian Football League was a senior advisor for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Barker has been the general manager of the Calgary Stampeders from 2005–07, and the Argonauts from 2011-2016. He was also the head coach of the Argonauts in 1999, with the Stampeders in 2003, and then again with the Argos in 2010-11. He has also been a sports analyst for the CFL on TSN. Barker has also served as a football operations consultant and assistant coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He is a four-time Grey Cup champion having won twice as an assistant coach and twice as a football administrator. On February 9, 2010, Barker returned to the Toronto Argonauts for his second stint as their head coach. After leading the Argos to the playoffs for the first time since 2007, Barker assumed the role of general manager on December 15, 2010, replacing Adam Rita, whose contract was not renewed. The CFL announced on February 25, 2011, that Barker was the Coach of the Year for 2010, winning the Annis Stukus Trophy. Prior to the 2012 CFL season, Barker made a trade that brought All-Star quarterback Ricky Ray from the Edmonton Eskimos to Toronto to help an offense that had struggled for some time. That move, and others, helped the Argonauts win the league's 100th Grey Cup at Rogers Centre. After six seasons as the general manager of the Argonauts and compiling a 49–59 record in that time span, Barker was fired on January 24, 2017.[ Barker spent the 2018 season as a TV analyst on TSN. On January 3, 2019, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Barker would join the team as a football operations consultant.[6] Following the departure of June Jones just prior to 2019 training camp, Barker also added the title of offensive assistant for the 2019 season.[7] For the 2020 season, he was also named a special teams assistant coach.[8] However, the 2020 CFL season was cancelled and Barker was not retained for the 2021 season.[9] Barker re-joined the CFL on TSN broadcasts as an analyst for the 2021 CFL season. Following the 2021 season, on March 4, 2022, Barker agreed to re-join the Toronto Argonauts as a senior advisor. On April 30, 2023 Barker stepped down from his role with the Argos. On May 5, 2023, it was announced that he was returning to TSN as a CFL panelist. #jimbarker #tsnanalyst #canadianfootballleague #torontoargonauts #calgarystampeders #montrealalouettes #hamiltontigercats #greycupchampion #headcoach #generalmanager #senioradvisor #livewithcdp #sportstalk #guest #host #chrispomay #wqee #radio #livestream #youtube #facebook #twitter #twitch #linkedin #audio #applepodcasts #googlepodcast #spotify #iheartradio #amazonmusic #stitcher #tunein #linkedin #barrycullenchevrolet #sponsorship

Kurleigh Gittens Jr, is a professional Canadian football wide receiver for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played U Sports football for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks where he was the OUA Most Valuable Player in 2017. Gittens played U Sports football with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks from 2015 to 2018. He immediately saw playing time as a rookie in 2015, playing in all eight regular season games and recording 40 receptions for 461 yards and two touchdowns He also returned kickoffs and punts, and notably scored a 101-yard kickoff return touchdown against the McMaster Marauders on October 17, 2015. In his fourth year in 2018, Gittens again posted dominant numbers as he caught 63 passes for 807 yards and three touchdowns and a career-high 39 punt returns for 396 yards and one touchdown.[2] However, the Golden Hawks finished with a 4–4 record and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in his four years with the program. Nonetheless, Gittens was named a U Sports first-team all-Canadian at both the wide receiver and kick returner positions, becoming the first Laurier football player to be named to the first-team at two different positions (he was also the first to be named to a first-team and second-team the year prior). He also set the OUA record for career receptions with 206 and was just the fifth U Sports football player to record over 200 catches in a career.[ Of the five players to have reached this milestone, Gittens was the only one to accomplish this in four years, while the other four players did so in five years.[7] In the final CFL Scouting Bureau Rankings, Gittens was named the 16th best available player in the 2019 CFL Draft.[12] He was then drafted in the third round, 23rd overall, by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2019 draft and signed with the team on May 16, 2019.[He began the 2019 season on the practice roster, but was elevated to the active roster in week 3 and played in his first professional football game on July 6, 2019 against the BC Lions. As the season progressed, his role with the team grew as he was featured on kick returns where he recorded his first three kickoff returns, which totaled 53 yards, in the Labour Day Classic against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He caught his first CFL pass on October 5, 2019 from McLeod Bethel-Thompson in a game against the BC Lions.[14][15] With the Argonauts eliminated from post-season contention, Gittens started his first professional football game at wide receiver in the last game of the regular season on November 2, 2019 against the Tiger-Cats, but did not record any receptions.[14] For the season, he played in 13 games and recorded one catch for 10 yards, two punt returns for eight yards, 14 kickoff returns for 230 yards, and one missed field goal return for 12 yards.[14] Gittens did not play in 2020 due to the 2020 CFL season being cancelled. On December 29, 2020, it was announced that Gittens had signed an extension with the Argonauts.[16] In the first game of the 2021 Toronto Argonauts season against the Calgary Stampeders, on August 7, 2021, he scored his first professional touchdown on a 27-yard pass from McLeod Bethel-Thompson. In the pandemic-shortened 2021 CFL season, Gittens played in 13 regular season games where he had 50 receptions for 605 yards and four touchdowns and was named an East Division All-Star at season's end. He also played in the team's East Final loss to the Tiger-Cats where he had four receptions for 74 yards. #kurleighgittensjr #torontoargonauts #livewithcdp #podcast #canadianfootballleague #widereceiver #lauriergoldenhawks #yatescupchampion #ouafootball #guest #football #youtubechannel #facebooklive #twitter #audio #iheartradio #amazonmusic #applepodcasts #googlepodcast #spotify #anchorfm #breaker #pocketcasts #radiopublic #linkedin #barrycullenchevrolet #sponsorship #bmofield

On this edition of ‘MOJ on Sports', host Bob Marjanovich talks with Rick Campbell, head coach of the B.C. Lions, who has been involved with the Canadian Football League (CFL) for over 20 years. Campbell's father, Hugh, was a legendary CFL coach who led the Edmonton Eskimos to five Grey Cup championships, so football runs in his blood. Campbell's coaching career began in 1999 as a defensive backs coach for the Calgary Stampeders. Over the years, he held various coaching positions with the Edmonton Eskimos, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Calgary Stampeders. In 2014, he was named head coach of the expansion team Ottawa Redblacks, and in just his second season, he led them to their first-ever Grey Cup championship in 2016. This made him the first head coach in CFL history to lead an expansion team to a Grey Cup win in just their second season. In 2019, Campbell took over as head coach of the BC Lions, where he has continued to make a positive impact on the team. The ‘MOJ' asked Campbell, what were the traits that he was looking for in his athletes. ‘Number one is you have to have talent. If guys aren't talented enough, you can't win. But the thing that needs to be mixed in with the talent is character and some good people, throughout the building in the organization, whatever it is,' says Campbell. ‘The thing I did learn from my dad is that every hiring matters, whether it's the assistant equipment guy or whoever it is on the team, they all matter. So, you really want to think things through and I think that's what we're trying to do here is keep stacking positive pieces.' Campbell was asked about building winning organization. ‘It's when you go through a tough time, if you go through a tough loss or you have a losing streak or whatever happens, that's where you really find out if people will hang in. And, keep their head down and keep working and not point fingers and do all those things. If you got that, that's where the magic happens.' 2.20.20 we pay homage to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson... Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972), also known by his ring name, The Rock, is an American actor, producer, investor and retired professional wrestler.[9] Johnson was a professional wrestler for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) for eight years prior to pursuing an acting career. His films have grossed over $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion worldwide,[10] making Johnson one of the most successful and highest-grossing box-office stars of all time.[11] Johnson was a college football player for the University of Miami, with whom he won a national championship in 1991. He initially aspired for a professional career in football and entered the 1995 NFL Draft, but he went undrafted. As a result, Johnson signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL), but was cut from the team in the middle of his first season. Shortly after, he began training as a professional wrestler.[12] In 1996, Johnson secured a contract with the WWF and was promoted as the first third-generation wrestler in the company's history, as he is the son of Rocky Johnson and grandson of Peter Maivia. He rose to prominence after developing a charismatic persona of a boastful trash-talking wrestler named The Rock. He subsequently won his first WWF Championship in 1998 and helped usher the WWF into the "Attitude Era", a boom period in the company's business in the latter 1990s and early 2000s which still hold professional wrestling records for television ratings.[13] In 2004, he left the WWE to pursue an acting career and went on a seven-year hiatus before returning in 2011 as a part-time performer until 2013, before wholly retiring in 2019. Considered to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers and biggest draws of all-time,[14][15] The Rock headlined the most-bought professional wrestling pay-per-view event ever, WrestleMania XXVIII, and was featured in among the most watched episodes of WWE's television shows, WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown.[16][17] He has won several championships, being a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a five-time tag team champion, and a ten-time world champion.[18] He was also a Royal Rumble match winner and WWE's sixth Triple Crown champion. Johnson had his first acting role in The Mummy Returns (2001), and played his first lead role in the spin-off The Scorpion King (2002). He has since starred in numerous other successful films, including The Rundown (2003), Walking Tall (2004), The Game Plan (2007), Get Smart (2008), Race to Witch Mountain (2009), Tooth Fairy (2010), Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), Pain & Gain (2013), Hercules(2014), San Andreas (2015), Central Intelligence (2016), Moana (2016), Rampage (2018), and Skyscraper (2018). Johnson's most successful box office role has been Luke Hobbs in The Fast Saga films. He first appeared as the character in Fast Five (2011) and helped catapult the film series into one of the top-grossing movie franchises in history.[19] He starred in the sequels, Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Furious 7 (2015), The Fate of the Furious(2017), and the spin-off film Hobbs & Shaw (2019).[20] Another notable franchise starring Johnson is the Jumanji franchise, as he has starred in the successful films, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), and its sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). Johnson also starred in the HBO series Ballers starting in 2015. The show ran for five seasons and was ranked as HBO's most watched comedy in six years.[21] Johnson has also attained success as an author and producer.[22][23] In 2000, he released an autobiography titled The Rock Says... which debuted at number one on The New York Times Best Seller list.[24][25] In 2012, he founded the entertainment production company Seven Bucks Productions, which has since produced several films.[26] Consistently ranked among the world's highest paid actors,[27] Johnson made the Time 100 Most Influential People in the World list in both 2016 and 2019.[28][29] Johnson is a dual citizen of both the United States and Canada.[1] #29DaysOfBlackHistory    *Putting People On Game does not own any rights to this music or images* Hit us up or send us a text 214-744-3601!
