EPISODE 287 - Chuck and Stacey welcome the two talented actresses who play Sombra and Symmetra in Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch video game, Carolina Ravassa and Anjali Bhimani. They explain what a recording session for Overwatch is like and the joy of working with Blizzard voice and casting director, Andrea Toyias. Carolina talks about working on her animation demo with Chuck at Demos That Rock as well as the personal story of how she found her way to the U.S. to pursue her acting career. Anjali speaks about studying theatre at Northwestern, to performing on Broadway and then making the move to Los Angeles. They both discuss the ongoing journey of embracing their authenticity and uniqueness and the ability to keep moving forward despite the obstacles and setbacks. Chatting With Sherri welcomes back John Alsedek and Dana Perry-Hayes  to chat about Suspense! The original SUSPENSE Featured a virtual who’s-who of Hollywood royalty, SUSPENSE ran for an unprecedented 20 years and 900-plus episodes before finally going off the air on September 30th, 1962- a date that is widely considered the end of radio’s ‘Golden Age’.  Fifty years later, John C. Alsedek and Dana Perry-Hayes revived the series, with all-new stories and a style reminiscent of the original without being a copy.   It has also been nominated three times for the Peabody Awards, as well as for the Parsec Awards, the Young Artists Awards, and the Young Entertainer Awards.  'Pioneer' is from our 100th episode. It stars Carolina Ravassa and Anjali Bhimani from the hit multi-player game 'Overwatch', as well as Adrienne Wilkinson and several other regulars.  'A Night in the Life', which is one of our 'Kitty Divine' episodes- while most of our shows are standalones, the Kitty episodes (we do one a season) are sequential. The beauty pageant that takes place in the national women's prison in Bogotá, Colombia is the subject of this week's episode. Steve Cosson spent a month visiting the prison during the lead up to the pageant, working with a group of Colombians, playwright José Rivera, and songwriter/musician Hector Buitrago of the Latin Grammy award winning band Aterciopelados. They interviewed the pageant's contestants, other inmates, and prison staff. In this podcast, you’ll get a chance to hear some of our raw interviews, which were translated into English and performed for the first time at the 92YTribeca in June of this year. Our first interview, performed by Vanessa Aspillaga, is with a woman serving time for being part of one of the various guerilla groups who are part of a long-standing armed conflict with right-wing paramilitaries. Next up is Carolina Ravassa playing an inmate who is incarcerated for her part in an attack on the presidential palace in Bogotá in 2002. The attack didn’t succeed in hitting then President Alvaro Uribe, though one missile overshot the palace and landed in the nearby neighborhood of El Cartucho, killing a number of people. To close this episode, our Associate Artist KJ Sanchez performs an inmate who, while she proclaims her innocence, was convicted of working for the paramilitaries through her political office. Actor, writer, director, and producer Michael Wolfe joins host Robin Milling to talk about his debut film, Maybe Tomorrow. The multi-talented Wolfe wrote the story tailor-made for his acting buddies of three friends who reunite after 15 years to explore a long-forgotten crime and cover-up that has affected the course of their lives. Wolfe, who's character snorts a line of cocaine from a 12-step brochure, tells Robin the energetic Vitamin B-12 which doubled for the white powder was so realistic that a rehab director at the film's location thought he was really hopped up! Michael jokes about filming the sex scene with his co-star Carolina Ravassa on top of a washing machine is not the most sexiest, but Michael Douglas would be impressed! A native of Long Island, Wolfe is very excited to show his film at the upcoming Hoboken Film Festival in New Jersey. For his sophomore project Wolfe wrote and will perform in I Love You, I'll Miss You, Goodbye, an intense and touching on-the-road comedy.
