S6, EP 187Meet Your Actor Series - Terrance AddisonThis week our special guest is Tall, Dark, and Hilarious. Terrance Addison is a full-time voice actor based in Los Angeles, California. His versatile voice ranges from med-high to deep-low. He voices Commercials, eLearning, Promo, Video Games, Animation and more. Terrance is a proud father and family man & when he's not in the booth, he's spending time with family and friends. The conversation takes us through Terrance's journey to finding his way into becoming a full-time voice over actor. We learn about what he does outside the booth on any typical day, what's his favorite beverage, the last movie he watched, what he last ate for breakfast, favorite voiceover genre, what his day job used to be, what is his favorite video game, how he doesn't consume the media or participate on Social media often. Terrance share's with us his thoughts on what's meant for you won't pass you by and how he infuses bits and pieces of himself in every character he voices. We also play a fun round table game where we take our current mood + last thing we ate = the name of our video game we create. Apparently, there are a lot of newer video games with food names now! Find out what all our video game names are! Then we find out what Terrance is most proud of...And then one final, final question from Gaby - What would your Inner Child say to you now? WE go deep on this one and Terrance shares what his would say! Growing up, her love for nature and animals, nurtured by her father, drew her to the field of animal science. She's currently an animal technician for a laboratory in Salt lake city Utah, and in her second year of a degree in Animal health and behavior. Animals have always been Ravens drive, but when posed with the question “Who are you?” The answer has always been the same; "I am a writer". First she published a short story, a science fiction book called ‘Ineffable', when Raven was 18, and before then she'd spent years scribbling stories into school notebooks, and entertaining family with whimsical tales of fantastical lands, aliens, and adventures. Finally, after years of tireless work, she finished ‘Nothing is beautiful', her magnum opus. The recent audio book rendition of this amazing novel, is narrated by the talented Jack de Golia who has brought new life to the story, and Raven is so excited to share it with you all. 'Nothing is Beautiful' - Life is hard for Sharkey and the other scrappers in Lawrence. After the Great Oil Crisis the Earth became a hot, wild, dangerous place. Those that could reach the portals left the planet long ago. Those left behind live a desperate and brutal existence, surviving on the bones of a ruined civilization, fighting and killing each other in a world taken back by the earth. But Sharkey has hope. Can he and his band of followers make it through the Nothing alive? And if they do, will they find the salvation they are looking for?Nothing is Beautiful is a post apocalyptic western sci fi story of love and friendship, terror and loss, and fierce determination in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversity. In this reflective monologue, Cameron delves into the importance of remembering our true selves and our interconnectedness with the universe. He discusses the frequent amnesia we experience regarding our courage, experiences, and growth. Cameron emphasizes the cyclical and rhythmic nature of life and the importance of engaging in creative processes to alchemize our experiences into expressions. He touches upon overcoming fears, the evolution of self, and the significance of self-love and environment in personal development. Cameron also highlights the power of specificity in self-inquiry and the essential role of the body in feeling and expressing. He challenges listeners to permit their raw, imperfect creativity to surface without the constraints of perfectionism or societal rules. Ultimately, Cameron encourages listeners to just 'make something bad' and enjoy the creative freedom it brings. 00:00 The Importance of Remembering 01:52 Cycles and Rhythms of Life 05:07 Self-Reflection and Identity 06:58 The Power of Expression 12:13 Embracing Imperfection 14:03 Conclusion

S5, EP 161 The whole gang finally dive into and share about their individual P2P choices since launching and building their voice over & on-camera careers. They discuss P2P platforms they're still going strong on since launching. Which ones they decided to let go of for different reasons. Then other P2P platforms they added into the mix to create more auditions to discover. Also they touch on adding Agents and Production rosters to help boost their access to auditions and increase their chances to book. Here we share real parts of our creative journeys, as we navigate our own individual voice over and on-camera careers. None of us are coaches but we do love that in sharing our creative chaos, we will all learn, grow and expand to become the best versions of ourselves in the creative realm with the intention that in sharing our stories we can inspire others along the way too. This is a From the Vault episode from before our Pod merger! It's Chaos! So we'll pick back up on where we are at now, with our current booth drama and goals soon...Stay tuned! *Booth details at the time we recorded this episode - *Jozlyn's referring to her Audiomute blanket, T-Pins, & the fact that she had her booth in multiple closets throughout her house, in order to find the perfect space and accommodate her families needs as well!*Angela was getting ready for a BIG move from Las Vegas back to Colorado.*Gaby was getting her home booth up and running, while adjusting her space.*Lloyd was still training and hadn't built his booth space yet. This is a relaunch episode, where we get nitty gritty with our tech & equipment choices when we first started our voice over and on-camera careers. Now we have definitely expanded, added and grown with our booth and on-camera audition set-ups thus far...BUT wanted to revisit this episode again after we blended our two podcasts together! In this episode we share how we came to the choices we made for our own home set ups, with the budgets we had available, the struggles we came across during set up and some things we found super helpful or not helpful. In this episode we evaluate the importance of branding, storytelling, and the digital savvy required in today's fashion industry. Is this portrayal of looting a harmful reinforcement of stereotypes or Kirby Jean-Raymond's genius provocation? We take inspiration from the transformative work of icons like Virgil Abloh and Demna Gvasalia, who have blurred the lines between luxury and streetwear. But it's not all runway and spotlights; we also get real about our personal battles—juggling the demands of career and motherhood and stay present in the ever changing media landscape. Our intimate chat is a must-listen for anyone who's ever dared to dream while fighting to keep their head above the tide of an unrelenting digital current and stay in a creative flow. From the vault originally released on 10/13/2022. Jozlyn is juggling many people and too many things! Frankie and Jozlyn talk about auditing an online acting class they are planning to take. Angela finally got home and has yet to unpack and is figuring her life out. Gaby joins us from her phone and then that gets us on a whole conversation about phones. Angela shares her plans to get her booth going in her new home. We discuss VO websites, Jozlyn worked with a website developer and talks about the struggles that come along with that, like how difficult it can be to communicate your ideas to someone else. Then Gaby shares the difficulty of taking on the task of creating her own website and producing the content she envisions for the website. Jozlyn talks about the process of getting her website created, from photography to fonts to design, she experienced some hiccups but ultimately was able to get it done. Angela had a hard time finding her tagline. Jozlyn had a tagline but forgot about the logo so she created it after the website was completed. We then discuss about what parts of your demo to put on your website and how to do it. How do we find our essence? Jozlyn shares what influences she pulled from to find her essence. All of this and so much more! Enjoy!"Developing your website is almost like planning a wedding" - JozlynUpdates as of 12/6/2023:Jozlyn has added a new clients section, additional voice samples, rebranded with Celia Seigal, added a page for her son who is booking voice actor and budding on-camera actor. This episode was previously launched on the original From the Booth and Beyond podcast but it was so good we just had to share it here! On this episode, Jozlyn, Frankie and Lloyd share some of their ups and downs and how nobody really knows everything. We chat about rabbit hole moments, why people love scary things, and the scary moments we have encountered ourselves. Jozlyn tries to say a big word, Lloyd shares his thoughts about a previous astrology/the moon conversation after he had some time to ponder. Jozlyn had an Ah-ha! moment during a voiceover training class while reading real scripts for a coach and Lloyd shares a bit more about his start in Improv comedy. This one is jam-packed!Support the showFollow all the Chaos - Website - https://www.keepingupwithchaos.net/ FB - https://www.facebook.com/keepingupwithchaospodcast
Straight from the vault, into your ears...Failure can be fun! We all experience failure along our creative paths, but perspective is key. Joz takes an Improv class and talks about her experience. We talk about the concept of "Failure is fun" and how we can incorporate it into our lives as we pursue our artistic endeavors. Life is hard as it is, so don't be too hard on yourself, allow yourself to fail because there are lessons in those failures. Gaby shares a bit about her experiences with failure and how she is changing her mindset. Lloyd shares the frustration of being told he was "close" to being ready to record his demo when he was expecting a yes and how an unexpected comment from a coach helped him. Embrace the suck and growth will come.Support the showFollow all the Chaos - Website - https://www.keepingupwithchaos.net/ FB - https://www.facebook.com/keepingupwithchaospodcast
We start off by giving Lloyd his well-deserved flowers. Then, Angela, Gaby, Jozlyn & Lloyd chat & dive into Lloyd's trials and tribulations while recording his very first audiobook. He discovered there was so much more to consider when working on an audiobook. Lloyd touches on a lot of important details which are great for those who are considering audiobooks.Jozlyn shares a few recent wins and her Chaos. Angela has had some repeat VO clients and is diving into live Djing for weddings! Gaby is on the go traveling, as usual, and is currently in Spain trying to figure out how to secure great sound for a new VO gig in a hotel environment! As VO artists, our office is often a closet. We often struggle to make sure the space works for us and what we need but it is also a comfortable space that will allow us to spend hours auditioning and working. Angela and Jozlyn chat about rearranging their booths and adding some acoustic treatments and equipment. Jozlyn shares some on-camera journey news for herself and her son. We are training, and doing headshots, and shopping for agents. It is all very exciting and it makes us think about how we started and how much training is necessary as you progress within your career. Angela, Lloyd and Joz chat about their thoughts on training, starting out, as they got going, and what they are thinking about it now. We discuss the importance of continuing to train as you move forward in your career but also how beneficial it is to incorporate new things into your training such as acting and improv to develop new skills. We also recognize that sometimes you have to look beyond the place where you started and experience what other people/coaches can potentially offer. It is very much about growth and stepping outside of your comfort zone. This can be scary but also rewarding. On the flip side of that, you can also come across people whose coaching style is not necessarily a good fit for you, so at that point it is important to look back at that experience and take it as a another step in your journey, and let it go.Always remember who you are and what you bring to the table.Episode Links:Bunny StudioThe Voice Actors StudioThe Online ActorSupport the showFollow all the Chaos - Website - https://www.keepingupwithchaos.net/ FB - https://www.facebook.com/keepingupwithchaospodcast
Hi Creative Cutie
Angela, Gaby, Lloyd and Jozlyn chat about where they are at with strategizing in creative biz. There's a lot going on in this episode! Jozlyn discovered, through on-camera acting, that sometimes you just have to go where the energy flows and be flexible when it comes to adjusting your strategy depending on what is working for your career. Lloyd does not have all his duck in a row but he has a plan to get to his goal. He has also gotten wildly involved in the Vegas improv scene which has helped him in many ways like with his confidence. BDBJ Energy! Gaby's plan has always been doing character work and while she wanted to do some Spanish work, she has been booking much more in Spanish than English. She is going with the flow and going where the path takes her. She does admit that she needs to learn more about how to market herself. Angela is trying her best to manage her time around her family and making sure she has time to work on her career. She has not auditioned for a while but life is happening and that can make it difficult to do what needs to be done to advance your career. It is not Quality over Quantity but rather Quantity with Quality.
