Hella Draven Morainu is everything I've ever wanted in a male, and yet he has no idea who I am. After opening his k!nk house and discovering there was zero information to be found about its tall, ruggedly handsome, and muscle-bound owner, I seek out the help of Gothika's most notorious crime lord to give me information on him and soon learn that stalking is not beneath me. Unfortunately, my face is rather recognizable, and if anyone were to catch me patronizing a k!nk house, I'd probably be flayed by family, ostracized by the public, to then be brutally mVrdered by my cheating fiancé I'm being forced to marry. Draven After serving The Blackspire Empire as Reaper for the last hundred years, I've finally managed to carve out a life of peace for myself. A life that doesn't consist of hunting down the scum of Gothika. That is until Hella Vex-Nocturni shows up in my k!nk house, and I find myself exploiting all the skills I've honed over the years as a Reaper to stalk my own client. Every evening, whether it's after she's already gone to sleep or just after she's left work, I don't go home until I've laid my eyes on her. And while stalking her isn't exactly the height of professionalism... professional boundaries can get f*cked. This female is my soulbound. They're the things that help us grow. Adversity is a thing that helps us grow, and yes, adversity can be struggle, but it can also be educational. It can also be victorious. It can also lead you towards bigger and better things, if you accept the challenge. And I think that's such a huge part of both immigration and adolescence, and our family meets adversity with a smile, which is how I think both Claudia and I live our lives. And we try to pass that message on because that's something that's inevitable. "When you immigrate, it's kind of like you're going through adolescence because you're in a new place. You feel weird in your own skin. You're learning new things. Everything is changing. You feel awkward. So that also helped us connect the adult stories to the children's stories.”“To me, America is about coexisting. It's about a million different journeys happening all at once, but really it being the same journey, which is to self-actualization to be seen, to be loved. I know that's not very capitalistic or whatever, but that's what I really see, especially in the immigrant community. It's self-actualization and not just for yourself, but to create that opportunity for your progeny, for your legacy.”"When I think of America, what America is, it's the nation built by immigrants that continues to succeed in large part because of the influx of immigrants to this day. Sometimes I describe the United States as like a club, right? It's a wonderful club, so many people want to be a part of it, and you need new members. And immigrants are like the new members that are kind of like the born again Americans that come here, and they're the ones that believe in America the most because everything is new to them, and they've sacrificed so much to be here. So something that I wish people could garner from this series is the fact that immigrants built this nation, and we continue co-creating this nation with those who aren't immigrants, as well."Claudia Forestieri and Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz serve as the creator and showrunner of the Latin-focused comedy series for HBO Max, Gordita Chronicles, making them the first female Latinx showrunner and creator duo. My guest today is an early childhood business powerhouse, whom I have yet to meet in person but who has inspired me and many others in the field. Marnie Forestieri is Chief Learning Officer and Co-Founder at Amazing Explorers Academy in Florida, which she helped build from the ground up and now has two busy and thriving locations. She tells us about her journey, how STEM folds into her mission of innovation and problem-solving in early childhood, and the group approach and empowerment process of hiring new teachers, all the way up to the onboarding process. Marnie brought her professional expertise outside of early childhood and embraced it to start her own game and ultimately change some of the rules. I love how Marnie promotes from within and helps groom her own for more leadership and success.   Key Takeaways: [3:02] Marnie moved to the United States 10 years ago as an investor, and first purchased a franchise for almost a decade. She found three things that told her she had a different calling: the need to innovate, to introduce STEM toys, and the opportunity to bridge a gap between the educators and business people. [5:34] Her first step to opening Amazing Explorers Academy was a lot of research and travel to try to come up with comparisons in other countries. She knew it had to be tailored to the needs and standards of our countries. Her reporter background helped in creating the framework of what needed to be done. [13:18] STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is becoming the new trend in education. By the time children are in third grade, one-third of the boys and girls have lost their interest in these topics. [16:09] They are opening nine more schools this year. Marnie shares how their innovative and group approach to the interview process and intensive training for new hires makes sure they are empowered and held accountable. [24:07] Every part of what Amazing Explorers Academy does needs to have accountability, children’s assessments, or a KPI. [30:46] Marnie believes in leading by example and that their biggest asset is the people that make up the business. [34:32] Amazing Explorers Academy has a bright future and is on the path to growing into new states and markets. They are opening their first prototype in Lake Nona, Florida, which is an area known for innovation. [37:45] According to Marnie, teachers are rockstars. Anyone that spends a whole day with a bunch of two-year-olds knows it’s not an easy job!   Mentioned in This Episode: Kris Murray Child Care Marketing Solutions Child Care Success Academy Amazing Explorers Academy The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon, by Brad Stone STEM Play: Integrating Inquiry into Learning Centers, by Deirdre Sheridan Englehart, EdD Debby Mitchell, Junie Albers-Biddle, Kelly Jennings-Towle, and  Marnie Forestieri Growing Up Wild Dale Carnegie     More About Marnie: Marnie is an entrepreneur with a passion for education and innovation with an ability to translate market trends into successful business models and innovations. Your Parenting Mojo - Respectful, research-based parenting ideas to help kids thrive

Waaaay back in Episode 3 (https://yourparentingmojo.com/003-your-toddler-isnt-reading-yet-neither-is-mine/) , we wondered whether we had missed the boat on teaching our babies to read (didn’t you teach your baby how to read?).  We eventually decided that we hadn’t, but given that many parents have a goal of instilling a love of reading into their children, what’s the best way to go about doing that?  And what if your child is the kind who wriggles out of your lap at the mere sight of a book? Our second-ever repeat guest, Dr. Laura Froyen, helps us to delve into the research on this topic.  We conclude by talking through some of the things parents can do to promote a love of reading, because it turns out it’s not as intuitive as one might think!   Dr. Laura has consolidated the most important of these suggestions into a FREE infographic that you can put up on the fridge.  Get your copy – free! – by clicking here (http://www.laurafroyen.com/respectful-reading/) .   References Bus, A.G. The podcast world has lost a shining light with an Owlstalk Sheffield Wednesday Podcast presenter going on strike. Any similarities to the Fernando Forestieri situation are purely coincidental. On a triumphant return to podcast-land, we discuss stuff that has happened since the last episode, many moons ago. We don't remember much of the Play-off final against Hull City at Wembley. Neil got drunk and ended up on the telly somehow. Catering has been brought back in-house at Hillsborough. This is good news! The state of the club shop 'megastore' is bad news though. We hark back to the halcyon days of Crossbar Fudge and Danny Wilson toby Jugs. We look at the new kits, including the unseeable black away kit, the Leeds United style third kit and the good-and-yet-bad Ipswich Town style home kit. All the while, we're awaiting the Oven Man to come with his hammer and chisel and fix Neils' oven (we're still recording in the kitchen, FFS).About Owlstalk The Sheffield Wednesday Fans Podcast:Every day thousands of Sheffield Wednesday fans come together to discuss all things about the Owls, and then more random subjects. As the biggest, busiest and best SWFC forum with many different diverse viewpoints there is always plenty to talk about, and that is what we try to do in the Owlstalk: The Sheffield Wednesday Fans Podcast!Sometimes we have to put the football to one side and talk about the people that make our club and community what it is: the fans.Feel free to get involved and post your feedback, thoughts and contributions on the forums at owlstalk.co.uk!Follow Owlstalk online at:Twitter |Facebook |YouTube |iTunes |Acast |OWLSTALK Forums! Like a Fernando Forestieri red card, this week's Owlstalk podcast for Sheffield Wednesday fans largely amounts to something about nothing...So, yes, we couldn't go by this week without talking about that second-yellow-red-card for SWFC's Fernando Forestieri, which opens up a debate over whether online petitions work or are worth it, and we look at a very formal letter of complaint written to the FA by an Owlstalker. Also, Neil has squeaky bowel movements as well as a squeaky chair. And it gets hot in the Owlstalk HQ kitchen, where Neil is breaking things. After last week's discussion about pants, Neil uncovers the Tight Pants song which has been haunting James for the last few weeks. We also discuss Owstalk fundraising, including the time we all raised over £10,000 for charity in a day and a current auction of a Chris Waddle picture in aid of Cavendish Cancer Care.Plus, Owls fan Furious George has returned in a comical thread making fun of Tas with potatoes and we talk about the Album Club i the music section of the site. And of course we revisit the ever-popular Steve's updates thread...Remember to subscribe, rate and review the podcast at your favourite podcast provider!About Owlstalk The Sheffield Wednesday Fans Podcast:Every day thousands of Sheffield Wednesday fans come together to discuss all things about the Owls, and then more random subjects. As the biggest, busiest and best SWFC forum with many different diverse viewpoints there is always plenty to talk about, and that is what we try to do in the Owlstalk: The Sheffield Wednesday Fans Podcast!Sometimes we have to put the football to one side and talk about the people that make our club and community what it is: the fans.Feel free to get involved and post your feedback, thoughts and contributions on the forums at owlstalk.co.uk!Follow Owlstalk online at: Twitter | Facebook | YouTube | iTunes | Acast | OWLSTALK Forums!
