Le celle solari al diamante hanno il comportamento opposto, e questo le renderebbe perfette per quelle applicazioni in cui la luce del sole viene concentrata. Potenzialmente, il fotovoltaico ad alta temperatura permetterebbe di aumentare moltissimo l’efficienza nello sfruttamento dell’energia solare, grazie a una sorta di doppia produzione, fotovoltaica e termodinamica nello stesso tempo.
