Daniel 6 provides the familiar account of God's rescue of Daniel from the threat of lions in a passage often called Daniel in the Lion's Den. When we rightly see God's power and deliverance however, we should refer to the passage as Daniel in the Angels' Den. Worship with us and see how embracing God's sovereign deliverance of us results in abundant life & heartfelt thanksgiving.Support the show
People often view humility as a weakness to avoid rather than a virtue to foster. Yet, humbly recognizing that God wisely rules over all things enables us to receive His grace with great thanksgiving. Be built up in your faith this week as we worship our great King and see from Daniel 4 the blessings of humbly relying on the Lord.Support the show

The Gift of Miracles demonstrates the authority of God, proving He exists. His miracle-working power does the impossible. Learn about the grace of God in the gift of miracles provided to us by the Holy Spirit. *** Welcome to Celebrating God's Grace, A Women World Leader's Podcast, I'm your host Robin Kirby-Gatto. Thank you for joining us today as we celebrate God's grace, in our lives, in our ministry, and around the world. Today's Title is: “The Gift of Miracles” “To another the working of miracles...” 1 Corinthians 12:10 AMPC The Greek word used for miracles in 1 Corinthians 12 is dýnamis pronounced doo'-nam-is meaning, “miraculous power, ability, abundance, mighty, worker of miracles, miracle, power, strength, violence, and wonderful work.” [i] God's grace is continually working through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The working of miracles is distinguished from the gift of faith and that of healing. As I mentioned in the prior podcast I did on the Gift of Faith, # 441, the Gift of Faith, is God's faith, added to our faith. Although I haven't gotten into the gift of healing, you will come to find out that it's specifically for the healing of dis-ease and the brokenhearted. In relation to the gift of miracles, this can happen in many circumstances, both with things in the natural, such as God parting the Red Sea, and times, when God's authority is being manifested in supernatural signs of removing congenital disease, someone paralyzed who walks, creating new organs in a person's body, or delivering a person from the point of death. When it comes to a miracle it's a sign, SHOWING GOD'S AUTHORITY. Whereas the gift of healing is the Great Physician's work on keeping people well mentally, emotionally, and physically. Let's go to miracles in the Word of God, beginning with Israel coming out of Egypt. In Exodus 3, God spoke to Moses at a burning bush, where he called him to Go to Egypt and to tell Pharoah the Lord's message “let My people go.” Moses then asked God, when he went to the children of Israel in Egypt to prepare them, Who should I say sent me, God responded “I Am that I Am” has sent you. “I Am” in Hebrew is hâyâh pronounced haw-yaw meaning, “to exist, be or become, come to pass, accomplished, committed, happen, etc.,” [ii] Therefore, the gift of miracles shows God exists and all that He is committed to, will be accomplished and come to pass. His promises are yes and amen! “When Pharaoh says to you, Prove [your authority] by a miracle, then tell Aaron, Throw your rod down before Pharaoh, that it may become a serpent.” Exodus 7:9 AMPC God instructed Moses to use the rod for miraculous purposes, which would prove the authority in which Moses came, the Great I Am, demonstrating that God exists, there is none like Him. In Exodus 7, miracle in Hebrew is môwphêth pronounced mo-faith meaning, “conspicuousness, a miracle, a token, sign, and wonder.” [iii] Isn't it amazing that the Hebrew word for miracle sounds like MO-FAITH or should I say MORE FAITH? Let's look at the Hebrew letters that compose it, which are Mem, Vav, Pey, and Tav. The ancient symbols from the Old Hebrew of these letters, combine to form a word picture, revealing the nature of what a miracle is on a deeper level. The first letter Mem is the ancient symbol of water, and looks like a three humped “M,” meaning, “massive and flooding,” in the positive. Vav is the ancient symbol of a tent peg or nail and means, “to add and secure.” Pey is the ancient symbol of a mouth that is opened, and means, “open, word, and speak.” Finally, Tav is the ancient symbol of an “X” or a cross, and means, “sign, seal, mark, and covenant.” Therefore, the word picture for miracle is THE MASSIVE FLOODING OF THE WORD THAT IS A SIGN OF COVENANT. Thus, the Gift of Miracles through the Holy Spirit, demonstrates the authority of God's Word and that He exists, there is none like Him. In John 4:47-54, Jesus was coming from Judea into Galilee, at which time a royal official came from Capernaum, where his son lay dying, to ask Jesus to heal his son. Jesus spoke to the man to go in peace, for his son would live. The royal official headed home, when then a servant came running to give him the good news that his son was better, and that the fever broke. The royal official asked the servant when it happened. It was at the exact time Jesus spoke to him that his son would live. This was the second miracle of Jesus. All throughout the Bible, miracles occur to demonstrate the authority of God Almighty. The enemy of our soul wants to hinder us from seeing the ability for God to do a miracle, by causing us to be double-minded and putting it in our heart that God won't perform it. If we give into this tactic, fear will rob our faith, and cause us to speak negatively. We need MORE FAITH, MIRACLE WORKING FAITH! I remember when my oldest son had been in a drug house for two years, God grabbed a hold of my heart and instructed me to brag about my oldest son like I did my youngest. When other people would ask me how he was, I would boast about how awesome he is. I agreed to do as the Lord instructed, and immediately followed suit. I'll never forget during this time, when I went to the movies, a woman asked me how my oldest son was. I just boasted about how proud my husband and I were of him, and she looked at me like I was an alien with four heads. I found out later that she had seen my oldest son the day prior, and their exchange made it evident to her that he wasn't doing well, and that our relationship was on the outs. Shortly after obeying God, on Mother's Day of 2011 (May 8th), my son was set free and came out of the drug house, knowing the power of Holy Spirit, as God had shown him the demons that were involved with his addiction. I knew that God did a miracle in delivering my son and bringing him back to the Lord. He demonstrated His authority over the powers of hell. When someone operates in the gift of miracles, it's the grace of God on them showing a sign of His authority. Greater is Jesus in us, than he who is in the world. On another occasion in 2012, when ministering in South Carolina at a minister's retreat, I ministered to individuals after having preached. A woman came up to receive ministry, when then I saw a huge rope knotted up and stuck in her ear. My spiritual eyes were open, and upon seeing this, the Lord said “Robin, pull that rope out of the woman's ear.” I obeyed and told her “God showed me there's a rope in your ear and I have to pull it out.” I just did a demonstration of it, and prayed whilst doing it, when then the woman started jumping up and down shouting. I looked at her in amazement, wondering why she was so excited, when she proclaimed, “I have been deaf in that ear, and NOW I CAN HEAR!” Lastly, when I was in the mission field in 2011 for a month in the Philippines, preaching and ministering, we had taken a flight into Tacloban on the Island of Samar and were in route on a van to Catarman, which was four hours north. It was about midnight when the van broke down about half-way. The taxi driver got out to see what the problem was. For the next two hours, he would go back and forth from underneath the engine, where oil had gotten all over him. I began to wonder if there was any oil left in the vehicle. Shortly after having been broken down, a bunch of Muslims came out and congregated behind the vehicle. The taxi driver's wife stood outside by her husband to help him. My friend opened the van door, anxious to go look for help, at which I informed her by no means was she to get out of the van. Our windows were cracked to let air in as well. During this time a Muslim man in his early twenties passed by the van to do recon for the group, caught a glimpse of me, at which time we locked eyes. I've never felt the hate that I did from that man, who was oppressed heavily by a demonic spirit. In the invisible realm, God showed me the demon jumping on top of our vehicle, and I felt it's heaviness all over me. Immediately the taxi driver's wife, heard what the Muslim men were going to do to us and shouted, “SHUT THE DOOR!” My other two friends were in front of me, while I stayed in the back, looking out of the window, as the Muslim men carried weapons, and were now coming to surround our van. God instructed me to post on Facebook that we needed prayers immediately. He then said “Robin, close your eyes, and focus on Me!” I closed my eyes tightly, to shut out all fear. Then God said, “Robin worship Me.” I began to hum, “I love you Lord, and I lift my voice, to worship you, oh my soul rejoice.” Suddenly the heaviness lifted. God then said, “Robin, open your eyes.” I looked, AND ALL THE MUSLIM MEN, WHO HAD WEAPONS SURROUNDING OUR VEHICLE WERE VANISHED, THEY WERE COMPLETELY GONE! God showed me that He had sent an angel of the Lord to protect us and that it so frightened them that they ran, HE HAD PERFORMED A MIRACLE! That is the power of the gift of miracles, when the need arises for God's authority to overcome the powers of darkness, proving that HE REIGNS; HE IS THE GREAT I AM! Is there something in your life that seems utterly impossible? If so, you are in a position for the grace of God to be poured out by the Holy Spirit through the gift of miracles! Only believe! In 2002, Kirk Franklin released his chart-topping album, The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin. One song entitled, “He Reigns,” extols an awesome God, who reigns with wisdom, power, and love. His awesomeness takes away the fear in us, and we praise Him, because we know He can deliver us. The devil can't block us, nothing can stop us because, “Our God is an awesome God!” The post PUTTING FEAR IN ITS PLACE: The Fear of God (YOU-Win'23, Study 1, Session 1) appeared first on YOU.

John Novak: John shares how there are many examples where idioms (or phrases that are figurative or not literal) are used within Scripture which will affect how we are understanding the text. Today's Music: Child of Love, He Reigns, Never Once, Faithful God, and 'Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus.
Freedom from sin, what a concept in the Church. Many cannot find freedom from its sting and pain. Many are forcibly trying to overcome in themselves what Christ has done for them. The Son has made us free. Yes, Christ is our freedom from sin. In John's Gospel Chapter 8, it is recorded that Jesus told the Jews that they were slaves to sin. Many would not come to Him that they would be made free from sin. The reality that is in Him is we have forgiveness for our sins. He became sin for us, and sin is not held against us. The Apostle John tells us He is faithful and just to forgive us. This reality of Him fills our hearts. He took our sins. He became the missing of the mark to bring us to God in Himself. It was laid upon Jesus Christ. What we have in the New Covenant is that of Christ. We do not simply have a good teaching of how to be better. We have the substance of how to be a New Creation. We have the substance of how to perform the Life of God within us. The substance we have is The Truth. The substance we have is Christ Jesus the Lord. His victory over sin reigns within us because HE REIGNS within us! Glory to God.

Presenting: “Vincent Bohanan & The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir” Young minorities who have experienced poverty stricken circumstances or who feel alienated and rejected by society are turning their lives around and evangelizing to all who will lend an open heart, thanks to the music ministry of “Vincent Bohanan and The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir.” This choir allows 60+ young singers and musicians, predominantly in their twenties, commuting from across the New York City Metropolitan area, to join their voices in the heart of Brooklyn every week. Through their Gospel music, Bohanan and the singers offer a message of hope throughout the city and abroad. The choir presented their first year anniversary concert on January 16, 2015 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to a packed audience which included the likings of gospel music greats Grammy Award winning artist Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Stellar Award winning artist Dr. Ricky Dillard and Choirmaster Bishop J.C. White. Visionary Vincent Bohanan, 25, founded The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir just two years ago. Bohanan, who nurtured his musical virtuosity as a young child, was fortunate to have been mentored and has developed his credentials into a list of accomplishments with esteemed musical groups. Bohanan, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Business & Audio from Five Towns College, has had the opportunities to work with the Institutional Radio Choir and alongside Vy Higginsen and the Mama Foundation, a highly respected performing arts foundation located in Harlem. He is now branching out and sharing his musical affluence in a fresh, innovative and original way with the birth of The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir, also known as “SOV.” Bohanan writes and composes all of the choir’s music. SOV was established to help overcome the negative image associated with today’s generation of young adults and to provide them with the platform and outlet to freely develop and express their musical talents in a positive way. The SOV singers come from various demographics and backgrounds. For some, membership in this choir provides the only sense of family and belonging that they have ever experienced. As some of the singers don’t even have a spiritual home, SOV provides their only experience of church right now. The choir has enabled them to join together in a Gospel-rooted, nurturing and musical environment to inspire and empower all people through song. Outreach and compassion are also at the core of SOV’s ministry. Indeed, the ensemble’s first community service event in June of 2014 was in line with the Gospel of Matthew 25:36 “I was naked and you clothed me.” SOV distributed free clothes and shoes; and of course they ministered through song with a free concert on the streets of Brooklyn. Highlights from the choir’s first two years in ministry consist of recording with Grammy Award winning gospel artist Cece Winans, backing up P.Diddy for a Biggie Smalls tribute during the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend and being a featured choir for Bishop Hezekiah Walker’s annual Resurrection Sunday Concert. As an independent recording artist, the choir astonished the music world with the release of their second single “He Reigns,” which debuted on the Billboard Gospel Digital Downloads chart at #4. After drawing over 1,000 people to Bridgeport, Connecticut in January of 2016 to witness the live recording of their first album “One Sound,” SOV anticipates touring this spring to promote the release. The choir looks forward to fulfilling their ever growing demand for appearance from organizations all over the country throughout the year of 2016 and completing their first request for appearance outside of the country in Montreal, Canada this spring.

Guest: Michael Tait of NewsboysAbout NewsBoysFor more than three decades, Newsboys have been defying the odds. After initially forming in Australia, they landed on American soil with only pennies to their name and eventually became one of the biggest bands in Christian music history. Today, Newsboys have sold more than 10 million units spanning 23 recordings. In addition, they’ve amassed eight Gold certifications, 33 #1 radio hits, four GRAMMY® nominations, two American Music Award nominations and multiple Dove Awards. Through the years, the faces of Newsboys have changed, but the mission has remained the same: One band. One heart. One brotherhood. Perhaps nothing embodies this mantra more than their current iteration as former members Peter Furler and Phil Joel join Michael Tait, Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein and Jody Davis for a supersized season of touring and recording that’s ultimately resulted in a brand-new studio project, aptly titled United (FairTrade Services). The history-making reunion first began to take shape when the current lineup invited Furler to sing on the band’s worship single, “The Cross Has The Final Word.” Still, none of them knew the fire that collaboration would spark. “When you’re working together, you start to have conversations, and we started chatting about what it would look like to have two eras of the band tour at the same time,” Furler explains. “Before it started, we didn’t know if it was going to work or how it was going to work.”This initial uncertainty was due, in part, to the continued success the band has enjoyed since Tait took the helm in 2009. With signature songs like “We Believe,” “Born Again” and Platinum-certified mega hit “God’s Not Dead,” which birthed a film franchise of the same name, Newsboys have continued to collect career-defining accolades at full speed ahead. Instead, the idea of the blockbuster lineup was birthed naturally through their longtime friendship. After a nine-year absence, Furler—a driving force behind iconic Newsboys hits like “He Reigns,” “Entertaining Angels” and “Shine”—along with key former lyricist, vocalist and bassist Phil Joel, returned to the stage for a strategic limited run of “Newsboys United” dates. Heading into the first show, the six members were nervous, unsure of the outcome. However, their debut as a supergroup delivered a clear verdict. The combination of Newsboys—past and present—together again on one stage was unstoppable, and fans clamored for more. The band officially reunited on the highly-anticipated Newsboys United Tour in 2018 before headlining 2019’s Winter Jam Tour Spectacular—Christian music’s largest annual tour—and then joining Michael W. Smith on a 10-city worship trek. Collectively, they’ve now performed more than 150 shows nationwide. It was only a matter of time before they found themselves in the studio together again.“No one had a clue that this Newsboys United smashup would even work, and now who can deny it’s been nothing short of fantastic?” Tait remarks. “I often say God works in mysterious ways and mischievous ways. It’s been an absolute pleasure and joy.”Known for their unparalleled live shows, where the energy is at a fever pitch, the drum kit rotates, and the production is unmatched, Newsboys’ expanded lineup represents the same ideals on stage that the band members harnessed in the studio for United, where themes of friendship, unity and diversity organically emerged.“In a very un-united United States these days, it’s powerful to see a Caucasian and an African-American on the stage speaking the same message in a unified way,” Tait asserts. Furler and Tait’s unified front on stage translates to tape as they effortlessly trade lead vocals on the album, blending both the past and the present.Along with Geoff Duncan, Furler steered the production reigns and returned as a lyricist for the band, co-penning four of the collection’s 10 tracks. The funky groove of “Love One Another,” which he co-wrote, features guest vocals from former dcTalk member Kevin Max, while tracks like the worshipful “Set Me Ablaze,” originally recorded by Bethel Music, and soaring lead single “Greatness Of Our God” continue Newsboys’ rich history of recording songs that resonate with fans of all ages.“‘Greatness Of Our God’ comes off live like a freight train. It’s powerful,” offers Tait of the radio hit. “As believers, it’s important to constantly be reminded of the greatness of our God, and the song says it perfectly.”“When they hear the music, I hope it’s not as preachy as it is practical—things that have worked in our lives that we’ve found freedom in, like freedom in Christ,” he adds. “We just want to love people through the music.”For Furler, selections like “Only The Son (Yeshua)” and “Fearless” helped personally define the band’s unexpected evolution. “I think, for me, it’s not so much the songs themselves,” he reflects, “but these songs represent moments when we realized it was going to work vocally.”Both frontmen consistently compliment one another. “Mike’s an amazing singer. He’s one of the best on the planet,” Furler emphasizes. “We had to try to figure out how our voices were going to blend.”“There was a selflessness in making the record,” Tait adds. “When Pete sings, it’s magical.”The magic of two lead singers, six life-long friends and one rock-solid mission form the undercurrent for both the album and the band. “Recording this Newsboys United album did so much more than just bring two eras of the band together,” Furler observes. “It has made us one in spirit, purpose and love.”No matter who’s taking the lead, Newsboys knows what they’ve forged over 30-plus years is rare. It goes beyond music, awards and notoriety. No matter what stage they’re gracing, Newsboys will be standing tall as a symbol of unity, defying the odds, together.newsboys.comNewsboys are coming in town!!! The final talk of the series on Isaiah, He Reigns
When it rains in your life, remember that God reigns over your life. In today's inspiration, Dianna Hobbs assures you that God, who is in control of all things, has a plan that supersedes anything you could imagine. And He's turning things around.
In this mix we begin with Deitrick Haddon asking to be "Forgiven". We've all done things wrong and need forgiveness.Later, we move onto Canton Jones and shout "He Reigns". Knowing thaty the Lord cleanses us we transition to Jordan Armstrong and chant we're "So Clean". We wrap this mix up with Mali Music saying that with "All He Has to Give" he will worship.
This week on The Rebellion, We are in the midst of our series the children of God. This is part four, Jesus the King of kings. So far we have established the infinite father, and we've looked at two of the roles of Jesus Christ as Savior and high priest. Last week we really drove home the idea of Him living eternally to intercede for us, as the second main role. This will be the final roll of Jesus that we look at in this series. I understand the Jesus Christ has more than three roles in the Christian's walk but we're just going over fundamentals. We're trying to build a foundation so that as we progress past these things there are a few basic truths that we agree on. Because if we don't then it's just going to get worse from here. That being said let's get to it! So at the beginning, I in jest said spoiler alert but in all reality that is what this role of Christ is. It gives us the ending up front. For a long-time, this was a difficult subject for me, The kingship of Christ. Maybe it's a little difficult for you. See I have a deep-rooted, in the womb issue with authority. I don't like it. I do not like being told what to do. Not one bit, not an iota of any of my cells, and quickest way to get me to not do what you want me to do is to tell me to do it. As a red-blooded American, a patriot, a veteran, I hold my freedom and my democracy close to my heart. I don't know if anyone knows this, but 200 some-odd years ago around 1776 as a people, we put our stake in the ground we don't like kings. As westerners, in general, it's a difficult idea to embrace because we are the literal antithesis of a monarchy. We don't like them. We don't think centralized power is a good thing. It has never worked out before! And yet, before all of that, I am a Christian. As a Christian, I am called to be submissive. I'm called to submit to all my authorities. Above and beyond all, I'm called to submit to the authority of Christ. Now you may be saying to yourself, man I am the best Christian ever. Last week when you were talking about struggling, I didn't even raise my hand. Maybe you are, and if that's the case I'm glad that you do not struggle. Let me ask you a question though, have you ever broken the speed limit? Of course, I've broken the speed limit, but God never said anything about speed limits. No, but He did say obey the laws of the land. Therefore, you have usurped the authority of Christ. Oh I know I know that's too harsh. Did you ever speak back to your parents? Then you have usurped the authority of your parents whom Christ said to submit to. Have you ever not done your homework? You are assigned your homework. Your teacher who is placed over you and authority over your education expected you to do your homework and you didn't do it. Usurping their Authority. Are things are starting to come into Focus? Looks like we all have a little bit of a rebellious tendency in our hearts. So is how is that coupled with this Divine Freedom that I spoke of? How is that coupled with the verse about Jesus setting people free? If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed correct? What does that have to do with being a child of God? Well, let's back up real quick and talk about Kings. The reason why is Americans we don't like kings is that we don't like someone being able to have total and complete Authority. In general, most monarchs in our day and age don't command the power and authority that monarchs held in the first century and for thousands of years prior that, and even up to the Middle Ages. The king in the sense of Biblical times, which is how we should view it because that's when it was written, had absolute power and authority over his people. He could tax them whatever you wanted. Which is where we get the United States of America. He could execute whomever he wanted. He did not negotiate. There was no representation. There was no council. A true 100% King was the sole Authority. We've seen how that works when humans take up that role because it was never intended for us. It's one of the curses of sin, we no longer retain the ability to rule justly, righteously, and perfectly. We talked about David last week and his mess ups, the greatest king Israel ever had, as far as humans went, was messed up. God adored him, his people adored him, but he was not perfect. Why then should we be happy about Christ's kingship? Why then do we care? Is this a role that pertains to us as children of God? Philippians 2:9-11 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. The King always wins! Going back to the idea of human flawed, bad kings, there were dire consequences that those things created. If we look at the person of Jesus Christ and the perfection that lies within him, why wouldn't we want him to have all authority? How much grander is his goodness, than the evil that is found in man? Infinitely grander, infinitely better, and infinitely more for us. So, we need not fear his kingship, we not even understand his kingship because we can understand that he's good. We can understand that he loves us. If you back up a few verses it says, "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus, who being the very nature of God did not consider equality with God something to be grasped. But made himself nothing (not made himself a little, not made himself not so great, but made himself nothing) taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness, and being found in appearance as a man. He humbled himself and became obedient to death. Even death on the cross. " And that's where it picks up and God exalted him. So we know that he's good. We know how much you sacrifice for us. Of course, we should embrace his authority as king. Getting back to the original text I want to look at this every knee bowing in heaven, on Earth, and under the Earth. Brothers and sisters, do you understand what this means for us as his followers? It means, the spoiler alert is true, the war is won. Yes, we still have to battle. Yes, This life is going to throw trials at you. Yes, things are going to be hard you will feel pain. But do not fret! Have no fear! Because your king lives! That's what's so climactic about the cross because not only does it save, but three days later there's an empty tomb that says he won. He lives! He rules! He reigns! The Ascension isn't great because it's some miraculous thing about a guy floating up into the air. It's Miraculous Because He Lives! He Reigns as God! The same guy who is the savior of sinners, the same guy who is the high priest of Heaven, is also the King of Kings and the Lord of lords! He has full authority, full supremacy, full sovereignty, everything is under his authority and under his control. Nothing comes into your life by accident. No suffering is without notice. In the end, you win because he already won! It's obvious that our Patriarchs, Peter, Paul, James, John, all these guys who are nobodies really, kind of like Jesus. A poor laborer from the backwoods of Galilee and yet all of history is wrapped around this guy. The way that we date things. Phrases that people use. Whole resistances for 2000 years have tried to tear down his church and it continues to grow. Normally in the worst places, suffering great persecution. Why do you think that is? Do you think it occurs because some random Jewish dude died 2000 years ago and some cult started around him? Or maybe just maybe the empty tomb was really empty. The guy really lives. The guy really was God. The guy really reigns on his throne in heaven and nothing is outside his purview, authority, or power. So, he commands you go forth without fear. Have peace that passes all understanding, and walk in the power of God dwelling inside of your fibers and being. He is carrying you from point A, of sin and death, to glory and eternal life in him and in his work because your victory is already won! My friends, I would not dare say to you that you will not suffer. Which is the exact reason why Jesus suffered so much. He didn't have to suffer! He didn't have to come down here. But if we just look at his life we can see, he didn't have to suffer. And yet he did. Why? So we could identify with you. So that he could encourage you. So that he could say, "the same way that I got up out of the Grave I give to you my spirit. I will dwell with you. I will never leave you or forsake you. I will be with you always. In fact, I've already won! Not only have I already won but I care about everything that occurs in your life. The things that you think are going to destroy you. The things that make you come to the end of you, are the things that I will work for beauty. The things that I will work for the good of those who love me." Why is it do you think that Paul could sing hymns beaten and in jail? Because he knew he won! Because the reality of the Risen Christ appearing to him on the road to Damascus was enough to change the entire trajectory of his life. It was enough to endure all kinds of suffering. It was enough to be stoned. It was enough to be beaten, put in chains, and eventually beheaded. Because he knew, spoiler alert, the King Reigns! Therefore, no matter what I suffer in this short brief vapor of life I can have joy. I can have peace. I still feel pain, but my circumstances don't dictate the goodness of my God! As dark as the night looks, there has been one man to get up out of the grave. There has been one man every skeptic has tried to disprove and failed. His name was Jesus Christ and he rose from the dead and he rains in heaven and he is my savior and he is my high priest and he is my king! So, yes I will struggle and I will fall and I will cry and I will break down and I will feel abandoned. But my feelings, my circumstances, my critics, my sins, my homelessness, my disease, my lack of money, whatever it is, there is not a thing that changes the fact that Jesus lives and reigns! Therefore as long as there is breath in my lungs, as long as this heart continues to beat, and Jesus says that he wants my service he will have it! Because he has the name above all names and his authority does not end in this life. Every knee, in every dimension, in every world, and every universe, for his infinite as his creation goes, and is so far beyond my understanding. His authority, power, and sovereignty goes further! So, Christian be encouraged you are a child of the Most High and your King says, "eventually, one day, you will win! It may not be in this life. You may be persecuted. In fact, you're probably going to suffer, but I promise you the same way that I suffered on the cross and was raised up to Glory. There is glory for you, in me. There's a crown for you, in me, for all eternity. Believe me. Submit to me and live!" So let me close with this, the reason why Jesus is worth all the praise and all the glory is that he's done all the work. Because he's the Jesus that saves you. He's the Jesus that intercedes for you. He's the Jesus that reigns for you. Don't you see, that's where your freedom comes from. That's where your freedom is found. Run towards it, run towards him. He doesn't say you can't struggle. He doesn't say you can't fail, in fact, he says go ahead fail. Fail spectacularly because I have covered that too. The faster you run towards me, the faster you will find what you have been looking for! I hope you're encouraged and as you go forward in this week you walk in the reality, no matter what comes against you, no matter how frustrated you are, no matter how dire the circumstances may seem, God is for you! Jesus lives and reigns and one day every knee will bow, on this Earth, not just in heaven, but also in hell. Every knee, there will not be one, that does not bow. And all will confess his Supremacy. Be encouraged have no fear, have peace. It may be painful but he knows your pain. And he's promised to wipe every tear from your eyes when your faith is your sight. In the meantime, he is with you in it right now. He is not afraid of your suffering. He is not afraid of your pain. He rules it. He will use it for your good. It may not feel like it, it may not look like it, but I promise you he will. Should be blessed you're a child of the king. A prince and a princess, you hold greater value than you could ever imagine. Tell yourself that every day. The only King to have ever beat Death claims you!
