Warto mieć plany i marzenia, szczególnie w kwestii wdrażania usprawnień w swojej pracy. This podcast interview focuses on product innovation that has the power to revolutionize the way markers communicate with their audience. My guest is Joe Urban, Co-founder of VennliJoe is a core marketing faculty member in Notre Dame’s MBA program and past Associate Dean of the Mendoza College of Business with numerous publication credits related to customer decision making and growth strategy. In 2010, Joe Urbany co-wrote a book entitled ‘Grow by Focusing on What Matters: Competitive Strategy in 3-circles.’ The premise of the book is that growth and competitive advantage are about effective positioning. The model facilitates speed of understanding and action by focusing strategic attention on what impacts customer decisions. It has been applied in over 1500 projects in the Graduate Business Masters Programs at Notre Dame and it’s the model that led to founding Vennli in 2013. Vennli brings the model to life through the use of collaborative technology and by providing a platform that delivers customer choice analytics and makes an already intuitive process even more accelerated and streamlined.Being a marketer by heart, this triggered me, and hence invited Joe to my podcast. We explore why marketers experience so many issues in increasing the performance of their content. We address why it’s not the lack of technology that sits in the way, but the approach we take to creating the content. And that’s a relatively easy thing to fix. Here are some of his quotes: … many, if not most, companies make decisions about strategy and tactics that don't fully account for the views and the perceptions of the people who determine their success, and that is: Customers. We tend to operate on the basis of past knowledge and our best intuition about what it is the customers value. What we found over and over, and really this came out of my executive MBA teaching in a big way:There were significant gaps between what businesspeople were thinking or predicted and then what customers actually said. And when you close those gaps and make decisions that better align with customers, the impact can be enormousNo one is immune from this … we get enamored with our inventions. Often the coolest inventions today are technical in nature. It's much more difficult to translate a technology into a validated product that really solves a problem for somebody.During this interview, you will learn three things:Why starting with the big idea and a crystal value proposition is not only going to help marketing perform better, but everyone and everything else in your organization – simply from the power of alignmentHow rethinking who’s our real competitor is not only going to increase urgency and improve win-rates, but also fine-tune the value of our product investmentWhat value we can unlock when our solutions provide new insights – and AHA moments. And how this could rewire how an organization thinks and acts. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

In this episode of the Discussing Stupid podcast your host Virgil Carroll has a conversation with Brett Matson, the Managing Director of Funnelback Search Technology, about search, semantic search, knowledge graphs, artificial intelligence in search, and the related leverages and pitfalls. Brett shares that there are several big things coming in the area of search, after reaching a plateau and stagnation for a few years. Some of these are paradigmatic (understanding the search has multiple purposes, not just page rankings,) and some include changing the approach (i.e. modifying queries,) changing presentation of results (modules,) knowledge graphs, semantic search (detecting the intent of the query,) and many more. Brett explores how some of these new technologies are intrinsically more attractive to people. For example, knowledge graphs are (or can be) visual and show relations between entities in them. Thus, they are much more intuitive in contrast to being faced with a wall of data to choose from. The point is, of course, making content a lot more intelligent and hence more useful, by treating it as a product and perfecting its delivery. In Brett’s opinion, during the next decade we will see a real proliferation of smart tools that will help users and companies perform a significantly better search. Virgil and Brett also discuss how it is very important to avoid making too many connections when using a new, powerful technology that can do that. This can bog down the whole organization, its data servers, employees, and finally, users.Virgil’s conversation with Brett is very rich and diverse, so make sure to listen to the whole episode and pay close attention to what he had to share. I have been able to get you all a sneak of an Adobe sneaks session. This project used AI that analyzes past content (in videos for EX, analyzing everything from people to objects) and it then provides recommendations for future blog content.  Intelligent Content Insights: Content marketing has been a proven way for brands to attract and retain customers. Compared to traditional marketing methods, it is six times more effective in driving conversion. As competition for eyeballs intensifies, AI and data science will soon play a critical role in driving future success. With this project, marketers can leverage advanced technology and tap an AI assistant for their content strategy efforts. Take a travel site for instance, where an upcoming video series is planned around Summer vacations. The system will analyze the brand’s existing video library, mapping performance data with a tremendous amount of content attributes such as objects, moods and actions. Commonalities across high-performing assets are identified, and a recommendation is generated for variables including length, format, people and more.  A couple notes on the Sneaks program:  As these are research projects, there is no formal commitment to product roadmap or release dates. However, Adobe has a good track record, and around 60% of projects in Sneaks make it into product. Sneaks, happening day 2 of Adobe Summit, is one of the most popular events at the show. Co-hosted by Leslie Jones this year, it is the biggest unveiling of labs projects for Adobe all year.
