The guys fire up the livestream to at long last discuss some Orioles baseball following the dawn of a new era at Camden Yards. The 2025 season was one that was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons, from a miserable start in the opening few months, the in-season firing of Brandon Hyde as a result of it, and the painful (and ultimately unsuccessful) attempt at clawing their way back into playoff contention. Since then, the O's saw a division rival once again represent the AL in the World Series in a seven game set that was won by a Dodgers team who look miles ahead of where Baltimore needs to be in just about every facet of the game. They've now hired a new manager in Craig Albernaz who looks and sounds every bit the part of the guy who can get this group of talent back to where they need to be; but as we've learned in Birdland this calendar year, talk is cheap. In Albernaz' opening press conference, he, Mike Elias, and David Rubenstein said all the right things regarding what it will take to turn things around. Can they do it? Only time will tell. As a wise man once said at the end of another extremely difficult Orioles season, "you just... don't... know." Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon! Free agency begins in less than 24 hours and even though deals won't get done right away, the Red Sox have the money to fill their needs. From Alex Bregman to a starting pitcher: don't rank them, just go get them.
The MLB season is officially over, and it ended in agonizing fashion with the Dodgers squeaking out their second consecutive championship over a Toronto Blue Jays team that just couldn't put the nail in the coffin. We beat the dead horse that should have been a ring for Toronto, but before that, we break down Tony Vitello's presser at Oracle, Gold Glove wins for Bailey and Webb, and some new coaching hires. We'll be back periodically throughout the offseason as news breaks, but thank you for your continued support as we close out season 15 of the TortureCast.www.torturecast.com@torturecastfacebook.com/torturecast
Welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. We kick off the show with a Halloween recap and a big shout out to game 7 of the world series. Then we bring you a harrowing, but hilarious, recap of some of the wild, grimy, and dishonest ways we were living in the months and years leading up to us getting sober. From embezzlement to homelessness to botched kidnapping schemes, we share our experiences in the throes of the disease and the wild ride the lifestyle can take a person on. Each of us delve back into our past and even though we make light of some of these events now, at the time they were tremendously sad and wretched. We lay the framework for a recovery program and the physical, mental, and spiritual bottoms that each of us have to hit in order to make the admission that we have a problem and we need help.“Get down off the cross. #312. Happy HalloWEEN!! Between the way we emphasize particular words and acknowledge a punnily named fudge factory, the first half of this episode would be likely to get us kicked out of 3rd grade. Thankfully we're adults and can do whatever we want; even if that means blowing off plans because we just don't like having plans. But how do you do that tactfully? And when is it too late to ask someone their name? After discussing our spooky festivities, we dust off the “Answers From the Middle” segment! Follow it up with some exciting baseball talk and a giant fumble of a football game, and you have a wonderful little Autumn episode to go with your spiced cider.
