My guest on today’s episode is one of the top thinkers, speakers, and entrepreneurs on this planet. He is certainly one of the most publicly well-connected business men I have ever had the pleasure of talking to. I had to pinch myself all week after he agreed to be on this show, and then I got nervous and anxiety got the best of me, so I could barely remember how to speak, let alone lead the conversation. Lucky for me, this guy is a real pro, and he still managed to deliver some of my best content to date, despite my awkwardness and loss of flow. This guy has been involved in some of the top music and tech industry business of our time, including Sony, EMI, and Universal. He has been involved in some of our most disruptive tech industry start ups, including ebay and Linked in. He has worked with such top notch movers and shakers as Bill Gates and Richard Branson. He has helped raised over 8 billion dollars in start up capital for business he believes will help solve problems for humanity. He believes entrepreneurs will solve the worlds biggest problems, and has made it his mission to inspire others to change their limiting beliefs, change their careers, and find ways to make positive change in our institutions and global systems. For this reason he has been on my personal list of people I hope to talk to for several years. He is a best selling author of Disrupt You, which was originally published in 2015, and which has been since published in several languages around the world. He spends much of his time teaching and promoting his motivational message all around the world, and he is also involved in several businesses which are currently tackling some of our biggest problems, such as sustainable agriculture and education. He is passionate about his belief that anyone can help solve a problem that many people have, by applying Insight and perseverance. It is my honor to introduce the Compelling articulate and innovative, Mr. Jay Alan Samit. That wraps up this conversation with Jay Samit. I hope you got as much out of that as I did. Please do take him up on his offer and download the 40 page workbook on his website. I am going through it for a second time, and even though some of the questions are aimed at a more traditional lifestyle than I have ever lived, I am finding it a very valuable tool to help me get out of my comfort zone and think about ways I can really bring value to other people and also, really design a high level life that I love, by thinking and acting outside the old paradigm box.You can find him on the internet at www.jaysamit.com You can buy Disrupt You on Amazon in audiobook and other formats. Less than a week later, I had the opportunity to interview him on The Happiness of Pursuit Podcast. Through Disrupt You, Jay challenges readers to rethink their traditional approach to business and shatters any excuses that may be standing in your way. That advice is followed by tactical steps you can take today to being thinking like many of the billionaire entrepreneurs Jay has coached in his career. One of the most simple, yet practical exercises he recommends is "to write down 3 problems you face every day. After a month, you have 90 ideas, and a theme will likely emerge. The bigger the problem, the bigger the opportunity." What really blew me away, was the way he reframed the solution, "when you don't know how to solve that problem, find something that does..." "Steve Jobs didn't know how to code, and he created the largest tech company in the world." What will you learn in this episode of The Happiness of Pursuit Podcast: >>How to find a billion person problem (and a billion dollar solution) >>How billion dollar businesses are built >>The importance of hard work and patience >>The difference between failing and failure >>Why you should focus on the impact, not income To get the bonus workbook, plus see the additional videos go to www.douglasjfoley.com/83
