Caleb just Back ended another 4 years in purple for an extra Nickel! We'll get off the cricket couch for an hour and Restump Podcast all the Christmas / New Year Freo news. There was little to no fear that Caleb Serong would be wearing anything but purple in the foreseeable future but having him lock in on Christmas Day for a further 4 years just made the season a little more festive.Tommy Sheridan had Griff Logue and Darcy Tucker on his podcast and the former Freo folk gave us a little bit of an insight into their departures. Were Darcy Tucker's interesting comments a little Lobb like? Or have we read too much into them? Club captaincy remains the topic of Chinese whispers. Will Nat Fyfe step down or retain the honour? Does Andy Brayshaw take on the responsibility now or after Alex Pearce wears the crown? Have the Freo girls got a Head coach yet? Does anyone know who may be a Rough chance? We check in on Bob and see what he's up to.Jojo is disgracefully campaigning for the Americanisation of our sport wanting the AFL to promote the initiative where players roll into the ground in all types of preposterous gear! Feel free to let him know your thoughts. Overdosing on cricket and looking for a change may well explain the reasons we're talking Freo footy in January. Or we're just overly eager and can't wait for the season to return. Whatever the case, if you're starved of some purple noise, feel free to bung this nonsense in your ears. As always, we offer no guarantees or refunds! Support the show

If Rory Lobb was Peter Garrett the song would be bridges instead of beds that were burning. Time to Restump Podcast the grenades that have been Lobbed our way. Plus all the latest news in purple shoes. It's difficult to wonder what Rory's thought process is as he torches the club that provided him $2 million plus. And if he is actually oblivious to his own comments, how has someone close to him not told him to reel it in? Either way, we're all surely now looking forward to our future clashes with the Dogs.On his way to round one, Neil Erasmus thought he'd stop in at hospital for a night to rehydrate after a big day on the training track. Most people use the pub but each to their own.We take a further look at the draftees and see if we learned anything after their press conferences and meanwhile Caleb's brother Liam Serong and Sam Stubbs are apparently making their way to Freo on a train. Oh wait they could be making their way to Freo to train on… whatever… there is a train involved! The great Aaron Sandilands has apparently hung up the size 18 ruck coach's boots as Beau McDonald has been appointed to the role. We ask the question was Sandi pushed? And if so how many men did it take?Talking about people getting pushed out, we've got a round one ripper against the great Ross Lyon and his Sainters and we can't wait for that. A super slimmed and streamlined Nat Fyfe is also on his way to round one and potentially a Weight Watchers contract.Sonny Walters had an ominous start to his preseason unable to enter the club with a faulty door lock wristband… hmm faulty or hacked? But Blake Acres has no such problem at the Blues as he continues to be the talk of the football world. It's as if he's the pivotal piece of Carlton's premiership puzzle!Summer has just started and likewise we're only warming up. We've got a plate full of purple particulars to paddle through so if you're bored out of your skull and desperate for your Freo fanfare fix…. friends Romans, countrymen… lend us your ears for 45 minutes of this Restump Podcast nonsense. On this episode of Radio Rothbard, Ryan McMaken and Tho Bishop look at conman Sam Bankman-Fried, the scam of FTX, and how regime legitimacy has fueled several fraudulent companies with unprofitable business practices. Did post-2008 monetary policy fuel a bubble in "effective altruism?" Do examples like Elon Musk's restructuring of Twitter offer an illustration of what Big Tech firms will have to do to survive in a time of less-than-easy money, or will the regime bailout the corporate extensions of techno-managerialism? He founded the original firm, A. Robert Murphy Architect Inc., in 1984. Since then, he has spent over 35 years honing his craft, both in design and in creatively approaching Seniors Housing projects with the skills and knowledge of a specialist architect. Bob's passion for providing beautiful, safe, functional housing for seniors comes from his lifelong admiration for the "greatest generation" - and his charitable work shows it. He is a frequent donor to a variety of fundraising events for Seniors. As Principal Architect, Bob is actively engaged in every assignment the firm undertakes. He ensures all projects translate successfully from the planning and design stage into construction and beyond. He establishes and maintains positive relationships with key stakeholders throughout their duration to see that each project runs smoothly and resolves any concerns promptly and efficiently. He leads the design team to prepare working drawings and specifications and allocates staff resources to ensure project commitments are delivered on time and in keeping with best practices. David Scott interviews economist Robert P Murphy senior Fellow of the Mises Institute, known as Bob Murphy to his many fans and followers. Bob is a economist of the Austrian School, a group based on 500 years of economic thought and in particular on the work of Carl Menger, Ludwig Von Mises and Murray Rothbard. It is based on anaylsis of human action and motivation and is built, piece by piece, in deductive fashion, upon these principles. In this interview David explains how he discovered the Austrian School and the extent of the intellectual revelation it provided to him and Bob explains briefly what the Austrian School is and what unique insights it offers. The discussion covers the 2008 great recesion and the role the Austrain theory of the business cycle played in predicting and explaining it. Bob and David also discuss inflation, it's effects and it mysterious temporary absence and sudden tumultuous arrival. In doing so they touch on the strange economics of the covid lockdown, Another of Bob's specialisms, of particular relevance today, is the economics of engergy generation and of climate change. He outlines his work in this area, and highlights the contradictions and holes in the official narrative. The effects of these are to generate policy prescriptions which, although they may serve a political purpose, are both untenable and injurious to human thriving. They make no sense, even accepting the global warming narrative and considering the policies within that worldview. This serves to illustrate just how good-for-nothing the current Net Zero religion has beome in recent years. David questions whether economics is really value-free and gets Bob's view of the values and ethics elements inherent in economic analysis. In closing David raised the spectre of Paul Krugman and the unexpected presence of Austrian Economics Groupies - Is Bob only in this for the Groupies, tune in to find out. https://youtu.be/d0nERTFo-Sk https://youtu.be/GTQnarzmTOc

Fremantle Dockers' Head of Football Operations and Western Bulldogs' Legend, Bob Murphy, spoke with Adam Gilchrist & Tim Gossage ahead of the Dockers elimination final against Collingwood tomorrow at the MCG.
They've carried the team for decades so it's time to return the favour. It's the Restump Podcast preview of our monstrous do or die elimination final against the dogs!It is true absence often makes the purple heart grow fonder. It's been 7 years since we've seen September action and I don't know about anyone else, but for yours truly, the anxiety is already building and the nerves are kicking in. Being an elimination final, it increases the pressure knowing it's ‘do or die' in terms of our season. However, if you're trying to remain calm and composed its probably best not to think about the additional stakes on the line…. that this is potentially the great David Mundy's final ever game. What the hell are we doing…. trying to cause mass mental breakdown! We're not pessimists… we're going in as glass half full folk and not because it will probably be filled by the rain tomorrow night! (Yeah, way to go Chief, way to be ironically optimistic! I'm sorry…. I'm a nervous wreck… and I'm also obviously going mad because I am talking to myself!)We bowled over the dogs 3 weeks back so that should provide us some confidence and comfort, but we all know finals are a different bag. They surely won't give us the time and space like they did under the roof at Marvel so it will be a case of same kennel but different dogs.As has been so often this year, over our ability to score is where the dark cloud hovers. The magnificent surprise inclusion is our round 8 debutant, Jye “Nev” Amiss and what a moment in time and opportunity for him. Could Nev provide us with an adaptation of our own Marlon Pickett moment? So, the whole season has come down to this Saturday night. It has been a highly successful year and we achieved the preseason goals set out. But to have it end Saturday night would still feel like a dagger through our purple hearts. Considering he was a career dog and now a recent Freo acquisition, we did our best to get Bob Murphy on for a brief chat. But the apparently nationally loved, the supposed man of the people, the claimed common folk's champion…. snubbed us. He said, through his people, “no can do, I'm too busy.” He gave us the generic... too busy! Bob is more creative than that! So, we can't bring you Bob's insight, his repartee and we can't put him to the blowtorch to really see where his deep-seated allegiance truly lies. We're not suggesting anything untoward… but matters of the heart can do strange things. You either bleed purple or you don't!However, if you want a chance at winning two tickets to Saturday night's game, listen to the pod for instructions and come up with a better excuse that Bob could have given us. Quite simply we just can't wait for Saturday night. But between then and now, if you're looking to keep the momentum going and increase the purple noise, click play and join us as we talk everything Freo finals…. Let's just say that again… Freo finals!

With the recent Mises Caucus takeover of the Libertarian Party in Reno, two of those scorned by the party decided to do a tell-all on a liberal leaning podcast. Joseph Bishop Henchman and Andy Craig appeared on the Neoliberal Podcast with Jeremiah Johnson to air their grievances and truly take name calling to a new level. This episode we break down their interview and the wild accusations of racism, white nationalism and other hate thoughts as devised and determined by these learned fellows. The problem is, no real evidence was supplied. This episode tries to counter the claims and show how the removal of Plank 3.5 of the LP platform was a good thing when people use it as a sword instead of a guiding principle. #davesmith #LMPC #neoliberal Show Segments: 0:00 Show Intro 0:59 Tyler's Intro 2:20: Marc Clair is a FED 5:03 Neoliberal Podcast with JBH and Andy Craig 7:04 Plank 3.5 as a weapon 8:33 Neoliberal Podcast intro 9:15 What happened to the LP 11:23 Who are Andy and JBH 17:03 Warped view of property rights 22:59 Anti-woke crusaders 26:02 Ilya Shapiro called racist by Ken White (5th Column) 29:41 CATO doesn't have Illya's back (5th Column) 31:15 All the evidence (white nationalist, Hitler praise) 37:00 Blowback for WWII 38:37 Micauc's doing what they are told 41:15 Mocking Ludwig Von Mises 42:00 Bob Murphy re Justin Amash & Mises quotes 48:19 Anti Trans 49:03 Pete Q on with Tyler Janke re: Trans 50:33 New Hampshire LP drama 52:10 LP Membership 54:21 White Supremacists history in the LP 58:30 Should you fight for the LP 1:00:41 LP is the future on the KKK 1:02:05 Bankrupt LP and a dying LP 1:02:56 Conclusions 1:04:50 Outro Show referenced Links Neoliberal Podcast - https://overcast.fm/+OF1xeRIkc 5th Column Podcast (Illya Shapiro) - https://overcast.fm/+5ch7witbM Hodey Johns (EP 4) - https://overcast.fm/+t_5iKFXbQ Bob Murphy - https://overcast.fm/+ViVMl-AiU/10:28 Blackbird w/ Thad Russell - https://overcast.fm/+4cs9ZXA40 DL (Libertydadpod) - https://youtu.be/SqR3Aw_QJOc JBH: https://www.ntu.org/foundation/about/staff/joe-bishop-henchman Andy Craig: https://www.cato.org/people/andy-craig LPR On Other Platforms Check out EP 1 for my origin story and what we are planning for this show. The COVID-19 pandemic forced many Colorado businesses to shut down storefronts. Many are still dealing with supply chain issues and inflation. Despite the financial squeeze, new business filings in the state have skyrocketed during the last three years, hitting a ten-year peak. And, as KUNC'S Adam Rayes reports, this economic development is happening in urban and rural communities alike.Colorado's 2022 primary elections are on June 28. They'll determine which candidates appear on the November ballot for U.S. Senate and House, Governor and Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, and other offices. One big change for this year is that Colorado picked up a new seat in the U.S. House, so many voters will find they're in a new Congressional district this year. Colorado Edition spoke with Bob Murphy, AARP Colorado's state director, for advice on how to make sure your voter registration is current, and about the issues that are most important to voters 50 and up this year.Colorado Edition is hosted and produced by Erin O'Toole (@ErinOtoole1). Social media is a massive aspect of modern life. Like most anything else, it can be a platform for good, or it can be used for the opposite. We are forced to wonder the ways in which social media influences our lives - especially with Elon Musk's recent involvement in Twitter - and how people may use it as a tool to direct people's behavior. Regardless, social media allows people who may not have any physical-social outlet for what they believe, like libertarians, to communicate with like-minded individuals across the globe. Show Notes: Speaking of social media, follow Olivia on Twitter @olilangarica! Kerry highly recommends Bob Murphy's Lessons for the Young Economist.
We are joined by Pete Caldera, who leads dual lives as the New York Yankees beat reporter for The Record of New Jersey and an evening performer, singing swingin' Frank Sinatra standards at a variety of New York City cigar bars and nightclubs. Pete brings us to Shea Stadium on August 9, 1974 for the Mets' 4-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds, a game played just hours after Richard Nixon resigned from the presidency. We'll discuss being a Mets fan in the 1970s, the heartbreak of the Tom Seaver trade, getting an autograph from the famous "Shea Stadium Sign Man," seeing Pete Rose and the Big Red Machine in person, and of course, we invite Pete to give the starting lineup with the world's greatest Bob Murphy impression. Pete also discusses the joy of covering a 12-year-old Bryan Hoch in a 1994 Little League game for the Rockland Journal-News.

Oh the tables have turned! In this interview I'm the one getting asked questions by Bob Murphy from The Grove Center. The Grove Center helps "artists to put their work in the public sphere." And they were kind enough to give us a grant for our film Between Giants, along with facilitate this conversation. Many of Bob's questions are centered around the film I Directed, Produced and Edited called Between Giants. Which is based on a two month bicycle trip I did in the Himalayas with my friend David 4 years ago. A film David would go on to score.A few topics discussed include:How amazing people from India areSuicideCrossroads in lifeBiking the HimalayasLoss of childrenFilmmakingI have not heard back from the religious leaders I contacted about my fear and faith mini-series I recently started, so in the meantime, I thought I'd publish this conversation. But, if you know any faith leaders who may be interested in discussing their faiths relationship to fear, please let me know through a message on Instagram @choosingfearless. In the absence of Sean Darcy, Can Lloyd “Braun” Meek break even with Windscreens O'Brien? Is Cyclone Treacy ready to storm the Crows' defenders? Has the Tucker Truck got the food fuel reserves to come in without either of the preseason games under his belt and can Freddy continue generating scoring shots?Without Tabs, Darcy and Fyfe, Rory Lobb just has to be the man that stands up. We need a performance from Lobb that we know he can deliver! The Chief takes an undeserved swipe at the great Bob Murphy and then brings us home with a pitch to get Angus Brayshaw into the purple. Beth and Kate interview the Bob Murphy! Bob lives in Columbiana with his wife, Rhonda. They have four adult children, and six grandkids! Although his plans were towards degreeing in music education at Kent State, Bob ended up played the tuba, trombone and electric bass in the Navy Band, traveling all over the world. After coming home, Bob drove truck for over 40 years. Since retiring, Bob has been working on cars, carts, cycles - anything that runs and has a motor! He has so much background and wisdom and experience in a array of topics, which means he has a story and discussion for all occasions! Although Bob knows a lot about things, he really cares deeply about our inner lives - how we think and feel and learn and see Jesus. He enjoys conversations about perspective and experience and faith. Bob also cares deeply about music. He's been on the worship team for a very long time and presently in one of the bass players. Bob has been at the Upper Room for about 27 years. We're really grateful for Bob and the way he loves he loves the Upper Room through his gifted and talented service of worship. If you know Bob, you know he loves when the music hits right, when there's deep and purposeful talk to express thoughts, and you know he loves his wife, kids, and extended family. His love for and example of Jesus can be seen in the way he gives his time to people so freely. Listen and hear from Bob as he encourages us in the power of an invitation and the life-giving effects of worship.
