MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BY BRINGING BACK THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF EARLY AMERICA: GEORGE WHITEFIELD
HOPEFULLY THE READING OF JONATHON EDWARDS TREATISE ON ORIGINAL SIN WILL PUT QUESTIONS INTO OUR MIND TO HELP US AS AMERICANS TO AGAIN HAVE A NATIONAL DISCUSSION ON ORIGINAL SIN, FOR WE CANNOT BE SAVED APART FROM FEELING THE GUILT OF ORIGINAL SIN, THAT WE MIGHT SEE THE FUTILITY OF OUR FIG LEAVES OF MORALITY, AND THUS HUNGER AND THIRST AFTER THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD BY WHICH IS OUR TICKET INTO HEAVEN, WHICH IS THE ONLY TICKET INTO HEAVEN. THUS IF WE HAVE QUESTIONS AFTER LISTENING TO JONATHON EDWARDS, POUND AWAY ON EVERY NUANCE OF ORIGINAL SIN, THAT IS A GOOD THING, FOR WE AS AMERICANS NEED AGAIN TO GET THIS DISCUSSION ON THE FRONT BURNER IN AMERICA, FOR WITHOUT FEELING THE WEIGHT OF ORIGINAL SIN NO MAN CAN BE SAVED. SOME QUESTIONS WE CAN BE MUSING UPON:THOSE WHO DENY THE SELF EVIDENT TRUTH OF ORIGINAL SIN, WILL ASK THE QUESTION SOMETIMES: IF MAN DOES MORE GOOD DEEDS THAN EVIL DEEDS HOW COULD A MAN BE TOTALLY DEPRAVED AND EVIL BY NATURE?OR HOW IS IT A MAN CAN DO ANY GOOD AT ALL IF HE IS TOTALLY EVIL? WHAT IF A SHIP'S MISSION WAS TO TAKE ITS PASSENGERS FROM NEW YORK HARBOR TO ENGLAND BUT THREE QUARTERS THE WAY THROUGH THE JOURNEY, THE PASSENGER SHIP SINKS AND ALL DIE, WOULD THE JOURNEY, BECAUSE IT MADE MORE THAN HALF WAY TO ENGLAND BE CONSIDERED A GOOD JOURNEY, OR BAD JOURNEY?WHAT ABOUT THE JOURNEY OF LIFE? WHAT IF WE LIVED THE FIRST 3/4's OF OUR LIFE WITHOUT SIN, AND AT THE 3/4's MARK WE SINNED, WOULD OUR LIFE JOURNEY BE CONSIDERED A SUCCESSFUL JOURNEY BY GOD, MAKING US FIT FOR HEAVEN?DOES GOD DEMAND PERFECTION OR DOES GOD BELIEVE IN PARTIAL CREDIT?Jonathon EDWARDS is writing this Treatise on Original Sin against a man with a P. H. D., DR. TAYLOR. HOW CAN THIS DOCTOR TAYLOR BE SO IGNORANT AND USE SUCH FALLIBLE ARGUMENTS IF HE IS THAT SMART? JONATHON EDWARDS WRITES:Surely that tendency, which in effect, is an infallible tendency to eternal destruction, is an infinitely and dreadful and pernicious frame of mind. It would be much more absurd to suppose, that such a state of nature is not bad, under a notion of men doing more honest and kind things than evil ones: the state of that ship is good, for crossing the Atlantic Ocean, though such cannot hold together through the voyage, but will infallibly flounder and sink, under a notion that it probably will go a great partof the way before it sinks….More absurd, than it would be to affirm, that a wife is a good wife to him, though she committed adultery, and that with the slaves and scoundrels sometimes, yet she did not do this so often as she did the duties of a wife. SECTION III OVERVIEWThat propensity, which has been proved to be in the nature of all mankind, must be a very evil, depraved, and pernicious propensity; making it manifest, that the soul of man, as it is by nature, is in a corrupt, fallen, and ruined state; which is the other part of the consequence, drawn from the proposition laid down in the first section.SECTION 3THE question to be considered, in order to determine whether man's nature be depraved and ruined, is not, Whether he is inclined to perform as many good deeds as bad ones? But, to which of these two he preponderates, in the frame of his heart, and the state of his nature, a state of innocence and righteousness, and favor with God; or a state of sin, guiltiness, and abhorrence in the sight of God? — Persevering sinless righteousness, or else the guilt of sin, is the alternative, on the decision of which depends — according to the nature and truth of things, as they are in themselves, and according to the rule of right, and of perfect justice — man being approved and accepted of his Maker and eternally blessed as good; or his being rejected, and cursed as bad. And therefore the determination of the tendency of man's heart and nature, with respect to these terms, is that which is to be looked at, in order to determine whether his nature is good or evil, pure or corrupt,

JONATHON EDWARDS PUBLISHED HIS TREATISE ENTITLED, ‘THE GREAT CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF ORIGINAL SIN DEFENDED' IN 1758 JUST 18 YEARS BEFORE OUR DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, MOSTLY WRITTEN BY THOMAS JEFFERSON IN 1776 AND JUST 11 YEAR MORE YEARS BEFORE OUR CONSTITUTION WAS APPROVED IN 1787. JONATHON EDWARDS COMPLETELY DISMANTLES DR. TAYLOR'S BOOK IN WHICH HE DENIES INNATE ORIGINAL SIN. “John Taylor's Scripture Doctrine of Original Sin was published in 1740. Taylor wrote the book in 1735.” THUS DR. TAYLOR'S BOOK WAS FLOATING AROUND OUR 13 COLONIES FOR 15 YEARS BEFORE JONATHON EDWARDS DID A GREAT SERVICE TO AMERICA BY REFUTING DR. TAYLOR'S DENIAL OF INNATE ORIGINAL SIN IN HIS BOOK, ‘ THE GREAT CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF ORIGINAL SIN, DEFENDED. IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY THAT THE CITIZENS OF OUR 13 COLONIES WERE 100% CONFIDENT THAT THE FOUNTAIN FROM WHICH ALL EVIL IN THIS WORLD FLOWS AND IN OUR COUNTRY IS RIGHT OUT OF THEIR OWN HEARTS. JONATHON EDWARDS WORK ON ESTABLISHING THE INNATENESS OF ORIGINAL SIN HELPED GREATLY IN GETTING THE APPROVAL OF OUR CONSTITUTION WITH ALL ITS CHECKS AND BALANCES WRITTEN MOSTLY BY JAMES MADISON A GRADUATE OF NEW JERSEY COLLAGE WHICH WOULD EVENTUALLY BECOME PRINCETON.BUT SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING FEELING THE WEIGHT OF ORIGINAL SIN, IS AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY IN ORDER THAT WE MIGHT FLEE TO THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD BY FAITH AS OUR TICKET INTO HEAVEN, NOW THAT WE KNOW OUR FIG LEAVES MORALITY, OUR SECURITY BLANKET, IS WORK OF FUTILITY, AND THUS IT IS IMPORTANT FOR US AS AMERICANS TO UNDERSTAND AND STAND STRONG AND UNWAVERING IN OUR KNOWLEDGE OF ORIGINAL SIN IS SIN BEFORE IT BECOMES AN ACT OF SIN. WHEN WE AS AMERICANS ARE REPENTING OVER OUR ORIGINAL SIN BEFORE IT BECOMES AN ACT OF SIN, WE ARE WAY AHEAD OF THE CURVE IN ESTABLISHING AMERICA AS THE MIST MORAL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. THE GUILT OF ORIGINAL SIN IS NOT ONLY AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY FOR OUR SALVATION BUT HORIZONTALLY, “IS” AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY THAT OUR CHILDREN ARE TAUGHT THAT THE FOUNTAIN FROM WHICH ALL EVIL COMES IN THIS WORLD IS RIGHT OUT OF THEIR OWN HEART AND IF THEY DON'T KEEP THE EVIL BLACK CATS OF THEIR HEART FROM ESCAPING THROUGH REPENTANCE, THEY CAN SAY BYE, BYE TO THE FLOURISHING OF THEIR TALENTS, ESPECIALLY IF THEY GET HOOKED ON DRUGS. IN KING COUNTY, IN WHICH IS SEATTLE, WA. THERE WERE 1067 OVERDOSES IN 2023. IF WE DIVIDE 1067 BY 365 THAT MEANS KING COUNTY WAS AVERAGING 3 OVERDOSES PER DAY WHICH MEANS WE WERE AVERAGING 3 FUNERALS PER DAY WITH GRIEVING FAMILY MEMBERS AND RELATIVES. OUR CHILDREN NEED TO BE TAUGHT THAT THEIR CONSCIENCE IS THEIR PROTECTOR WHICH HELPS KEEP OUR EVIL BLACK CATS FROM ESCAPING FROM OUR HEART. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANY OF US AMERICANS WANT TO FOOLISHLY GET HIGH IN ORDER TO NEUTER OUR CONSCIENCE: THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS IS IT NOT.

THIS MESSAGE BY JONATHON EDWARDS IS PROBABLY THE MOST FAMOUS SERMON HE EVER PREACHED. HE PREACHED IT FIRST IN HIS OWN CHURCH IN NORTHAMPTON MASSACHUSETTS, BUT THIS SERMON FOUND ITS FAME WHEN JONATHON EDWARDS PREACHED IT IN ENFIELD, CONNECTICUT ON JULY 8, 1741 AMIDST THE FURTHERANCE OF THE GREAT RELIGIOUS AWAKENING. THERE WAS SUCH AN OUTPOURING OF THE SPIRIT IN THAT CHURCH THAT HE WAS NOT ABLE TO FINISH THE SERMON. THIS MESSAGE IS A FIRE AND BRIMSTONE SERMON, WHICH IN AMERICA TODAY WOULD BE SHOCKING,BECAUSE THE KNOWLEDGE OF ORIGINAL SIN HAS BEEN DOWNPLAYED BY OUR FASTFOOD FREEWILL THEOLOGIANS, AND THUS, MOST OF US AMERICANS DO NOT KNOW THAT THE FOUNTAIN FROM WHICH ALL EVIL IN THIS WORLD FLOWS IS RIGHT OUT OF OUR OWN HEART, AND THUS WE AS AMERICANS DO NOT SEE THAT IT IS OUR SIN NATURE THAT IS CONDEMNING US TO HELL. MARTIN LUTHER'S STATEMENT: ‘THE DAMNED ARE SUFFERING SO SEVERELY, BECAUSE THEY WERE UNWILLING TO BE DAMNED' SEEMS UNREASONABLE TO MOST OF JOHN Q. PUBLIC OF AMERICA TODAY, UNLESS WE PAUSE FOR A MOMENT AND ASK OURSELVES A QUESTION: WOULD ANY OF US AMERICANS EVER HAVE BELIEVED THAT GOD WOULD UNLEASH SUCH HORROR UPON THIS EARTH, BY ADAM SIMPLY BREAKING ONE COMMANDMENT. RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, RIGHT OUT OF THE FIRST FAMILY, ADAM AND EVE'S OLDER SON, CAIN, MURDERED THEIR YOUNGER SON, ABEL, AND ALL OF US AMERICANS ARE DYING BECAUSE WE HAVE BEOKEN GOD'S COMMANDMENTS. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE IS IT NOT THAT GOD COULD UNLEASH SUCH HORRORS OF WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS, RAPE, MURDER, THEFT, ADULTERY, HOMOSEXUALITY, etc., FOR 6000 YEARS, ON US AMERICANS, FOR ADAM AND EVE BREAKING JUST ONE COMMANDMENT: AND IF GOD IS TO BRING SUCH PUNISHMENT TO US AMERICANS EVERYDAY AS IS WITNESSED BY OUR LOCAL NEWSCASTS, MAYBE JUST MAYBE GOD IS GOING TO CARRY OUT THE TORMENTS OF HELL HE SAYS HE WILL IN THE SCRIPTURES, AND THUS WE AS AMERICANS OUGHT TO THINK TWICE, MAYBE THRICE, THAT THE PUNISHMENT OF HELL IS NOT AN EMPTY THREAT, BUT A REALITY: MAYBE WE OUGHT TO INQUIRE OF GOD-TRUTH?JESUS HIMSELF SPEAKS THE GNASHING OF TEETH: DR. LUKE 13: 23] Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,[24] Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.[25] When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:[26] THEN shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.[27] But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity(SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS).[28] There shall be WEEPING and GNASHING of TEETH, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and YOU YOURSELVES THRUST OUT.[29] And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.[30] And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.Isaiah 66: 24] And they shall go forth, and LOOK upon the CARCASSES of the MEN that have TRANSGRESSED AGAINST ME: for THEIR WORM shall NOT DIE, neither shall THEIR FIRE be QUENCHED; and THEY shall be an ABHORRING unto all flesh. [15] For, behold, the LORD will COME with FIRE, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to RENDER his ANGER with FURY, and HIS REBUKE with FLAMES of FIRE. [16] For by FIRE and by HIS SWORD will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the SLAIN of the LORD shall BE MANY.[17] They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.[18] For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

IN THIS MESSAGE, JONATHON EDWARDS, GIVES A VISION OF WHAT A RIGHTEOUS STATESMAN SHOULD STRIVE TO BE THROUGH THE SCRIPTURES, AND AT THE END OF THIS MESSAGE, APPLIES IT TO HIS UNCLE JOHN STODDARD, WHOSE FATHER WAS THE WELL KNOWN SOLOMON STODDARD, HIS WIFE'S FATHER, WHOSE CHURCH, JONATHON BECAME THE PASTOR OF AFTER SOLOMON STODDARD'S DEATH. THIS MESSAGE WAS PREACHED JUST 2 YEARS BEFORE HE WAS DISMISSED FROM HIS GRANDFATHER'S CHURCH FOR HE OPPOSED THE HALF WAY COVENANT IMPOSED BY HIS GRANDFATHER, ALONG WITH A SERIES OF SERMONS ENTITLED ‘RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS' WHICH, IN DETAIL PORTRAYED ALL THE TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF AFFECTIONS OR SIGNS WE CAN HAVE, MAKING US THINK WE ARE A CHRISTIAN WHEN IN REALITY WE ARE NOT, BECAUSE SATAN IS THE ULTIMATE COUNTERFEITER, AND OUR HEART IS DESPERATELY WICKED, AND DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS, AND THUS THESE MESSAGES COULD NOT HELP, BUT TO MAKE SOME UNCOMFORTABLE IN HIS CONGREGATION. THESE SERMONS WERE PUBLISHED IN A BOOK IN 1746. THE GREAT BONDAGE OF THE WILL RELIGIOUS AWAKING WAS IGNITED IN HIS CHURCH IN 1734, BUT BY THE 1740'S SATAN WAS SOWING MANY TARES AMONGST THE WHEAT AND THUS IT WAS HARD TO TELL THE TRUE CHRISTIANS FROM THE FALSE: THUS RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS WAS WRITTEN TO HELP THE COLONISTS TO HAVE DISCERNMENT FOR TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS SPIRITUAL WARFARE AT ALL TIMES. JONATHON EDWARD'S DISMISSAL WAS NOT AN EASY THING FOR HE HAD 11 CHILDREN. BUT JESUS WARNS US OF HOW CONTROVERSIAL TRUE SPIRITUAL WARFARE REALLY IS AS OPPOSED TO THE FALSE FREEWILL CHURCH WHERE WE ARE IN CONTROL OF OUR OWN SALVATION AS OPPOSED TO THE BONDAGE OF THE WILL DOCTRINE, WHICH IS BASED ON PREDESTINATION. JESUS WARNS HIS DISCIPLES IN MATTHEW 10: [2] Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;[3] Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;[4] Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.[5] These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:[6] But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.[7] And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 16] Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.[17] But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;[18] And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.[19] But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.[20] For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.[21] And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.[22] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.[23] But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.[24] The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.FORMER MR. MORALITY WRITES IN ROMANS 8: [33] Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's ELECT? It is God that justifieth. [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?[36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.[37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquers…, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

THIS MESSAGE IS PART 2 OF THE PREVIOUS MESSAGE ENTITLED ‘GOD GLORIFIED IN MAN'S DEPENDANCE'. JONATHON EDWARDS MAKES THE FOLLOWING VERSE WRITTEN BY FORMER MR. MORALITY TO HIS BRETHREN IN CORINTH COME ALIVE: 1 COR. 1: [29] That no flesh should glory in his presence. SO THE QUESTION WE AS JOHN Q. PUBLIC OF AMERICA MUST ASK OURSELVES IS: WHEN DO WE AS AMERICANS NOT GLORY IN CHRIST'S PRESENCE, FOR NOT GLORYING IN CHRIST'S PRESENCE IS A NECESSITY NOT ONLY AS A NEW CREATION BUT IN BEING MADE A NEW CREATION. THIS MESSAGE IS DEEP, AND WELL WORTH LISTENING TO. THIS MESSAGE WILL ALSO LIST SOME OF JONATHON EDWARDS PROPOSITIONS OF SELF EXAMINATION TO HELP US TO SELF EXAMINE OURSELVES IN ORDER TO KEEP OURSELVES IN A STATE OF REPENTANCE. Do I manifest an attitude of openness toward God that would invite him to “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts”? (Psalm 139:23-24)Is my heart eager to learn of “any wicked way” in me?Are my motives for self-examination correct—that I might be led “in the way everlasting”?Is it important for me to know whether or not I live in a state of sin?Do I live in the gratification of some lust, either in thought or in deed?Do I live in the omission of some known duty?Am I sinning against the light of my conscience in some way, by going on in known sins?Have I been careful, watchful, and diligent in observing myself for evidence of sin in commission or omission?Have I lived in some way which is inconsistent with my Christian profession, and is not suitable for disciples and followers of Jesus?Have I allowed myself to become blinded by the deceitful nature of habitually gratified sin?

THIS MESSAGE INCLUDES A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF JONATHON EDWARDS AND AN INTRODUCTION WHICH MAKES IT CLEAR THAT COMPLETE DEPENDANCE UPON THE WILL OF OUR CREATOR SETS US FREE FROM ALL OPPRESSION, EVEN THAT OPPRESSION, WE MAY HAVE PLACED UPON OURSELVES. ISN'T THAT WHAT WE AS JOHN Q. PUBLIC OF AMERICA DESIRE, TO BE FREE AGENTS, NO MATTER WHAT OUR CIRCUMSTANCES MAY BE. 100% ACCOUNTABILITY TO OUR CREATOR FIRST & FOREMOST, GIVES US THAT FREEDOM WE DESIRE BOTH HORIZONTALLY ANDVERTICALLY. WE WILL FIND THAT FREEDOM HORIZONTALLY SPEAKING IS A SELF EVIDENT TRUTH. MAY THIS MESSAGE BE THE IMPETUS IN MAKING US, JOHN Q. PUBLICOF AMERICA DESIRE TO BE TRULLY FREE THROUGH 100% ACCOUNTABILITY, FIRST AND FOREMOST, TO GOD, BY ACKNOWLEDGING OUR ABSOLUTE NEED OF TOTAL DEPENDENCY UPON OUR CREATOR, UPON THE WILL OF OUR CREATOR, BY SELF EVIDENT TRUTHS.
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BY BRINGING BACK THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF EARLY AMERICA: GEORGE WHITEFIELD
THE QUESTION THAT WE AS AMERICANS MUST ASK OURSELVES, IS, WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR US TO DESIRE TO ASK OURSELVES WHETHER OR NOT WE ARE A TRUE CHRISTIAN OR JUST A PROFESSING CHRISTIAN, WHEN, IF THE BIBLE IS TRUE, THEN OUR SOUL IS AT STAKE? WOULDN'T ALL OF US AMERICANS WANT TO KNOW “FOR SURE” IF WE ARE GOING TO HEAVEN OR NOT? BUT WE ASK OUR FELLOW AMERICANS THIS QUESTION, THEY ALREADY HAVE THEIR SECURITY BLANKET ON, AND THUS THE CONVERSATION DROPS DEAD. SO WE ASK THE QUESTION, WHY IS IT, WE ARE SO COMFORTABLE THAT WE ARE FIT FOR HEAVEN WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY SCRIPTURES WARNING US THAT STRAIT IS THE GATE AND NARROW IS THE WAY. SO WHAT IF WE HAPPEN TO BE ONE OF THE FEW THAT IS CONCERNED THAT WE MIGHT BE UNFIT FOR HEAVEN AND ARE ACTUALLY CONCERNED THAT WE MIGHT BE UNFIT FOR HEAVEN, IS IT TRUE THAT IT IS NOT US THAT IS DRAWING US TO FIND OUT BUT OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. Jn. 6: 44] NO MAN can COME to ME, EXCEPT the Father which hath sent me DRAW HIM: and I will raise him up at the last day. [65] And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me(JESUS) except it were GIVEN unto him of my Father(BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD). SO IT APPEARS THAT IF WE ARE CONCERNED OF THE STATE OF OUR SOULS IT IS BECAUSE WE ARE BEING DRAWN TO THE TRUE JESUS AND NOT THE FAKE JESUS, WE SHOULD BE VERY THANKFUL. BUT HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE ARE BEING DRAWN TO THE TRUE JESUS AND NOT THE FAKE JESUS. JONATHON EDWARDS IN HIS BOOK, WHICH THE NARRATOR IS READING FROM IN THIS PODCAST GIVES US AN EXHAUSTIVE INSIGHT INTO WHETHER OR NOT WE ARE BEING DRAWN TO A FAKE JESUS OR THE TRUE JESUS. EVERY ONE OF US AMERICANS THAT IS INTERESTED IN THE STATE OF HIS SOUL SHOULD READ JONATHON EDWARDS BOOK ‘RELUGIOUS AFFECTIONS' THOROUGHLY TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE NOT DECEIVED OURSELVES. BOTH JESUS AND FORMER MR. MORALITY WARN US ALSO TO EXAMINE OURSELVES, THAT IS THE STATE OF OUR SOUL. FORMER MR. MORALITY WRITES:2Cor. 11: [13] For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.[14] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.[15] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.2Cor. 13: [5] Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?Heb. 6:[4] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,[5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,[6] If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.JESUS COMMANDS:MATTHEW 7: [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.[16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?[17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.[18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.[19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.[20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.FISHERMAN PETER WARNS US:2Pet.2 1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, denying the Lord

JONATHON EDWARDS WAS THE PASTOR OF THE CHURCH IN NORTH HAMPTON MASSACHUSETTS, WHERE THE GREAT RELIGIOUS AWAKENIMG WAS IGNITED IN 1734. AT THAT TIME GEORGE WASHINGTON, JOHN ADAMS AND THOMAS JEFFERSON WERE LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD IN 1740 AND THUS GREW UP AMIDST THE GREAT AWAKENING FOR GEORGE WHITEFIELD FURTHERED THE GREAT AWAKENING FOR HE PREACHED OVER 18000 SERMONS, ABOUT 15/WEEK FROM 1740-1770. BENJAMIN FRANKL RECORDS IN HIS AUTOBIOGRAPHY THAT ONE TIME GEORGE WHITEFIELD CAME INTO PHILADELPHIA AND BENJAMIN FRANKLIN ESTIMATED THAT ABOUT 30,000 WERE IN ATTENDANCE. BUT BY 1746 JONATHON EDWARDS DETERMINED THAT SATAN HAD SOWED MANY TARES AMONGST THE WHEAT AND SO HE WROTE THE BOOK, ENTITLED RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS, TO HELP THE COLONISTS DETERMINE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TRUE CHRISTIAN AND A PROFESSING CHRISTIAN. THE DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS DURING THAT PERIODOF TIME WERE MUCH MORE DETAILED THAN THEY ARE TODAY, BUT EVEN WITH THOSE DETAILED DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS IT WAS NOT ENOUGH AND THUS JONATHON EDWARDS FELT COMPELLED TO WRITE RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS TO HELP THE COLONISTS MORE EASILY DIFFERENTIATE THE TRUE CHRISTIAN FROM THE PROFESSING CHRISTIAN. IN AMERICA TODAY THE DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS ARE SO WEAK AND WIDE OPEN THAT YOU COULD DRIVE A SEMI THROUGH THEM. TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA HOW MUCH MORE DETAILED THE DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS WERE AT THE TIME OF OUR AMERICAN REVOLUTION LET US LOOK AT THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH DOCTRINAL STATEMENT WHICH IS CALLED THE WESTMINSTER CONFESSION AND PRINCETON WAS PRESBYTERIAN. HERE ARE SOME EXCERPTS TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF HOW DETAILED AND COMPREHENSIVE IT WAS. The Westminster Confession of Faith (WCF, 1646) Table of Contents Chapter I. Of the Holy ScriptureChapter II. CHAPTER III.—Of God's Eternal Decree. VI. As God has appointed the ELECT unto glory, so has He, by the eternal and most free purpose of His will, foreordained all the means thereunto. Wherefore, they who are elected, being fallen in Adam, are redeemed by Christ, are effectually called unto faith in Christ by His Spirit working in due season, are justified, adopted, sanctified, and kept by His power, through faith, unto salvation. NEITHER are ANY OTHER redeemed by Christ, effectually called, justified, adopted, sanctified, and saved, but the elect only.

AS WE HAVE MENTIONED MANY TIMES, SATAN IS THE ULTIMATE COUNTERFEITER. THE REFORMATION CENTERED ITSELF AROUND THE FACT THAT TRUE CHRISTIANITY WAS AN INWARD REALITY FOR JESUS HIMSELF SAID: DR. LUKE 17: [21] BEHOLD, the KINGDOM of GOD “IS” WITHIN YOU. FORMER MR. MORALITY, ONE THE MOST ZEALOUS FASTFOOD FREEWILL THEOLOGIANS BEFORE HIS CONVERSION, AFTER HE WAS CREATED A NEW CREATION, CONFIRMS THIS IN A LETTER TO HIS BRETHREN WHEREIN HE WRITES: GAL. 2: [20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but CHRIST LIVETH IN ME: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH of the Son of God, who LOVED ME(ONE OF THE WORST PERSECUTORS OF THE CHURCH BEFORE I “WAS MADE” A NEW CREATION) and gave himself for me. I FORMER MR. MORALITY, AS A ZEALOUS PHARISEE HATED JESUS CHRIST WHEN HE WAS HERE ON EARTH, FOR HIS POPULARITY, AND HIS WORDS WERE RUFFLING MY SECURITY BLANKET. HE TOLD ONE OF MY COLLEAGUES, NICODEMUS ABOUT THIS INNER RELIGION WHEN HE SAID THIS TO HIM: JN. 3: John.[31] There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: [3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, EXCEPT a MAN be BORN again, he CANNOT SEE the KINGDOM of GOD. [4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be BORN when he is OLD? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? SO THE REFORMATION WHICH WAS IGNITED BY MARTIN LUTHER IN 1517 AND SPREAD THROUGH EUROPE, CULMINATED IN THE PILGRIMS COMING TO AMERICA IN 1620, THE PURITANS IN 1630, HARVARD ESTABLISHED IN 1636; YALE 1701; COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY(WHICH EVENTUALLY BECAME PRINCETON) IN 1746; THE GREAT SPIRITUAL AWAKENING IGNITED IN JONATHON EDWARDS CHURCH IN 1734, AND FURTHERED BY THE GREATEST EVANGELIST IN AMERICAN HISTORY, GEORGE WHITEFIELD, WHO PREACHED OVER 18,000 SERMONS MOSTLY IN THE FIELDS FROM 1740-1770; THE GREAT TREATISE ON ORIGINAL SIN IN 1758 by JONATHON EDWARDS. THE CENTRAL THEME OF ALL THESE THEOLOGIANS, GROUPS AND INSTITUTIONS WAS THAT RELIGION WAS AN INNER EXPERIENCE NOT JUST AN OUTER PERFORMANCE. IT WAS THE INNER EXPERIENCE(THE NEW CREATION) THAT DROVE THE OUTER EXPERIENCE VIA FAITH THROUGH THE EXPERIENTIAL LOVE OF THE SAVIOUR. JESUS TOLD MY COLLEAGUE NICODEMUS THAT HE HAD TO BECOME BORN AGAIN IN ORDER TO SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD, THAT IS, TO SEE THE SPIRITUAL JESUS THAT WAS STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM FOR JESUS WAS THE EMBODIMENT OF THE SPIRITUAL KINGDOM OF GOD. BUT WHEN JESUS SAID “BORN” AGAIN WHAT DID MY COLLEAGUE THINK, THAT IS RIGHT, HE THOUGHT OF HIS NATURAL BIRTH, FOR ISN'T THAT WHAT ALL OF YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU HEAR THE WORD BORN, YOU THINK OF YOUR NATURAL BIRTH OR THE BIRTH OF SOME CREATURE: AND HOW MUCH FINGERPRINTS OF COOPERATION DID YOU HAVE ON YOUR NATURAL BIRTH? DID GOD GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE HIM A THUMBS UP OR DOWN:YOUR RACE; THE COUNTRY YOU WOULD BE BORN INTO; THE FINANCIAL STATUS OF YOUR PARENTS; DRUG INFESTED PARENTS OR MORAL PARENTS; ETC.? NO SIR YOU JUST SHOWED UP HERE ON EARTH. SO MY COLLEAGUE NICODEMUS WAS AT LEAST PRACTICAL AND NOT DECEITFUL FOR HE KNEW IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE HIMSELF BORN: “can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born.” BUT I FORMER MR. MORALITY, NOW THAT I AM BORN AGAIN, KNOW HOW SPIRITUALLY DUMB I WAS AS A FASTFOOD FREEWILL THEOLOGIAN, FOR I NOW REALIZE HOW DECEITFUL SATAN IS AND I WROTE ABOUT THIS TO MY BRETHREN IN CORINTH: 2COR. 11: [14] for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT I HAD NO FINGERPRINTS OF COOPERATION ON BEING BORN AGAIN. BUT SATAN DUMBS DOWN THE NEW CREATION BY PUTTING FINGERPRINTS OF COOPERATION ON THE NEW CREATION SO YOU NATURAL MAN AMERICANS CAN CONTROL YOUR SPIRITUAL BIRTH WHICH IS NONSENSE. CHARLES FINNEY IN 1830 IGNITED A FASTFOOD FREEWILL SPIRITUAL AWAKENING AND BILLY GRAHAM WAS MENTORED BY HIS WRITINGS. IN THIS MESSAGE THESE MEN WILL BE JUXTAPOSED TO WHITEFIELD AND EDWARDS. CAUT. THIS MESSAGE MAY RUFFLE YOUR FEATHERS!
Romans 5:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. God is the source and supplier of hope. Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:6-7 And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.” Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace; according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light of revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel. Luke 2:22-32 The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. John 1:35-39 And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head. There were some who said to themselves indignantly, “Why was the ointment wasted like that? For this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they scolded her. But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me. She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial. And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.” Mark 14:3-9 Make the most of your opportunities on this earth to show your love for Jesus. Chrisitan hope = our good things can never be taken away from us, even our bad things turn out for good, and the best things are yet to come. - Jonathon Edwards
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BY BRINGING BACK THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF EARLY AMERICA: GEORGE WHITEFIELD
IN PART III JONATHON EDWARDS BEGINS TO DELINEATE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NATURAL MAN AND THE SPIRITUAL MAN. PSATOR EDWARDS IS AT HIS BEST IN THE LAST HALF OF THIS MESSAGE AND EVERY TRUE CHRISTIAN AS WELL AS EVERY PROFESSING CHRISTIAN OUGHT TO LISTEN CAREFULLY AS JONATHON AS HE DISTINGUISHES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NATURAL MAN PROFESSING CHRISTIAN AND A TRUE SPIRITUAL NEW CREATION. WE ARE COMMANDED BY FORMER MR. MORALITY TO EXAMINE OURSELVES: 2COR. 13: [5] EXAMINE YOURSELVES, whether ye be in the faith; PROVE your OWN selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ “I” IN YOU, EXCEPT ye be REPROBATES? THIS MESSAGE IS WORTH LISTENING TO MANY TIMES OVER.
Jonathon Edwards goes down as the greatest philosopher, author, and pastor in America's history. He preached the most famous sermon in America on July 8, 1741 called, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” Edwards, along with Whitefield, were used by God during the Great Awakening. He learned Latin, Greek and Hebrew as a...
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BY BRINGING BACK THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF EARLY AMERICA: GEORGE WHITEFIELD
THE GREAT RELIGIOUS AWAKENING THAT FOUND ITS GENESIS IN JONATHON EDWARDS CHURCH IN NORTH HAMPTON MASSACHUSETTS, WAS AT A TIME PERIOD WHEN MOST OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS WERE LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD. IN 1740 GEORGE WHITEFIELD, AMERICA'S GREATEST EVANGELIST, CONTRIBUTED TO THIS GREAT AWAKENING, DELIVERING FROM MAINE TO GEORGIA, MOSTLY IN THE FIELDS, OVER 18,000 SERMONS FROM 1740 TO 1770. DURING THIS GREAT RELIGIOUS AWAKENING SATAN WAS BUSY PLANTING TARES AMONGST THE WHEAT, COUNTERFEIT CHRISTIANS OR ALMOST CHRISTIANS AMONGST THE TRUE CONVERTS. THUS IN 1746 JONATHON EDWARDS WROTE A TREATISE ENTITLED RELIGIOUS AFFECTION SO THAT THE AMERICANS COULD BE MADE AWARE WHETHER OR NOT THEY WERE AN ALMOST CHRISTIAN OR A TRUE CHRISTIAN. WE AS NATURAL MAN AMERICANS MUST KNOW THAT NOT ONLY WE CANNOT MAKE OURSELVES A CHRISTIAN, BUT NEITHER CAN ANY CHURCH, PASTOR OR FRIEND MAKE US A CHRISTIAN. TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS THE ONLY RELIGION IN THE WORLD IN WHICH WE HAVE ZERO, ZIP, NADA FINGERPRINTS OF COOPERATION IN OUR CONVERSION, IT IS THE SAME AS OUR NATURAL BIRTH. THIS TREATISE ENTITLED RELIGIOUS IS ONE OF THE MOST DETAILED DOCUMENTS EVER WRITTEN HELPING US TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT WE ARE A TRUE CHRISTIAN OR NOT. JONATHON EDWARDS IS VERY DETAILED IN BUILDING A FOUNDATION FIRST, HE IS A PICK AND SHOVEL PASTOR, AND THOSE OF US AMERICANS WHO BEEN BROUGHT UPON MCDONALDS #4, AND PUFFED WHEAT FOR BREAKFAST, THROW AWAY VACUUM CLEANERS, 30 SECOND SOUND BYTES FOR KNOWLEDGE, MAY FIND THIS TREATISE CHALLENGING BUT IF WE PAINSTAKINGLY STICK WITH IT WE WILL KNOW MORE ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRUE CHRISTIANITY AND FAKE CHRISTIANITY THAN ANYONE ELSE IN AMERICA. WE AS NATURAL MAN AMERICA MUST TAKE HEED THE WARNINGS JESUS HAS GIVEN US TO HARD IT IS TO GET THROUGH STRAIT IS THE GATE AND NARROW THE WAY BEFORE WE DIE. MATTHEW 7: [13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. [15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. [28] And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: [29] For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

JONATHON EDWARDS' TREATISE ENTITLED ‘RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS' WILL HELP US MAKE OUR ELECTION SURE, IF WE HAVE BEEN ELECTED, BUT IF WE HAVE YET TO BE ELECTED IT WILL, IF APPROACHED WITH A TENDER HEART, HELP LEAD US TO REPENTANCE AND A TRUE CONVERSION. SOME OF US NATURAL MAN AMERICANS MAY HAVE A PASSION FOR READING AND STUDYING SHAKESPEARE, OR EUCLIDEAN GEOMETRY, OR MAYBE STUDYING THE WORKS OF PLATO OR MAYBE WE HAVE A PASSION TO READ OUR BIBLES AND STUDY THE DOCTRINE OF SALVATION. MANY PASTORS WHO ARE UNCONVERTED STUDY THEIR BIBLES IN THE SAME WAY THEY WOULD A TEXTBOOK. BUT IF WHEN READING AND STUDYING OUR BIBLES IT IS IN NO DIFFERENT WAY THAN HOW WE WOULD A TEXTBOOK, WE ARE NOT A TRUE CHRISTIAN, FOR THE BIBLE IS A SPIRITUAL BOOK, AND THUS FOR US NATURAL MAN AMERICANS TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND OUR BIBLES IS NO DIFFERENT THAN A MAN BORN BLIND, TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW. IT IS ONLY THE SPIRITUAL NEW CREATION THAT CAN UNDERSTAND CORRECTLY HIS BIBLE WHICH IS SPIRITUAL. 1 COR. 2: [13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. [14] But the NATURAL MAN receiveth NOT the things of the SPIRIT of GOD: for they are FOOLISHNESS unto him: NEITHER can he KNOW THEM, WHY? BECAUSE they are SPIRITUALLY discerned. JONATHON IN THIS TREATISE SHOWS IN DETAIL HOW CLOSE WE CAN BE TO BEING A TRUE CHRISTIAN, AND YET WE ARE YET ONLY AN “ALMOST CHRISTIAN” BUT NOT A TRUE CHRISTIAN. JONATHON EDWARDS WROTE THIS TREATISE AMIDST A GREAT RELIGIOUS AWAKENING THAT BEGAN IN HIS CHIRCH IN IN 1734 IN NORTH HAMPTON MASSACHUSETTS, BUT SATAN THEN SOWED TARES AMONGST THE WHEAT TO CONVOLUTE THE GREAT AWAKENING WITH FALSE CONVERTS AMIDST THE TRUE CONVERTS: THUS JONATHON EDWARDS DOES HIS BEST TO DOCTRINALLY DISCERN BETWEEN TRUE SALVATION AS OPPOSED TO FALSE SALVATION IN ORDER TO ENCOURAGE THE TRUE CONVERTS AND THEN TO BRING THE FASE CONVERTS TO REPENTANCE. THIS TREATISE IS WORTH READING OR LISTENING TO MANY TIMES OVER IN ORDER THAT WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN ELECTION SURE.
In this episode of Principles with Cory and Logan, Cory shares about how great people chose to live their lives in such a way that it inspires and awakens a generation. John Maxwell says Success is how well I have done for myself. Significance is how well I have done for myself and others. Greatness however is how well I inspire others to do well for themselves and others. I love that definition as it has a generational tone to it. It's the third and forth level deep in an organization doing better off because I chose to lead and to live my life in a certain way that it inspires others to live life in a certain way. It's the third and fourth generation of a branch in a family tree being better off because I chose to live life in a certain kind of way. In this episode Cory shares -The importance of doing everything with excellence. -The generational study of Jonathon Edwards and his contemporary Max Jukes. -The way Great people live their lives, how they make their decision and think. Part 28 The Church at the start of the Age of Reason The 18th century is widely regarded as the ‘Age of Reason' – the age of scientific discovery. Science was discovering the natural laws that governed the earth. With the advent of the theory of evolution, the idea of a supernatural world was dispensed with. Quickly God had become merely at best an impersonal observer and the supernatural, spiritual worlds and the divine inspiration of Scriptures were being denied. Within general society, the 'need for God' disappeared as science and philosophy felt they could explain everything without the need of a God or gods. For the church, this was a century of stagnation and decay. In the USA, the original evangelical fervour had faded into commerce and prosperity. However, there were glimpses of the Church being empowered. Not all was lost! There were still glimmers of the church still being alive! In the mid-18th century there was a spiritual revival throughout the USA and Britain. America – In America, there was the Great Awakening! Revival started in 1730 under the passionate and spiritual preaching of Jonathon Edwards. He was followed by George Whitfield, an Englishman who waited for 6 weeks in 1740 and preached to crowds of thousands. Many thousands turned to the church and became Christians during this time of revival. Jonathon Edwards (1703 – 1758) – Edwards' conversion took place when one day he was reading 1 Timothy 1:17 “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Later in life he looked back and wrote "As I read the words, there came into my soul, and was as it were diffused through it, a sense of the glory of the Divine Being; a new sense, quite different from any thing I ever experienced before… I thought with myself, how excellent a Being that was, and how happy I should be, if I might enjoy that God, and be rapt up to him in heaven; and be as it were swallowed up in him for ever!" You can see the reference in it's context by clicking here As regards to his approach to science, rather than scurrying away from it as many church leaders did, Edwards like some others, embraced it! As he went on in life, while many in the church found that science was pushing them to an impersonal view of God, Edwards went the other way. He embraced the natural world as evidence of God's craftsmanship and design. He went on to become perhaps America's finest philosopher and thinking as well as a mighty preacher and church leader. Wales – In Wales, revival broke out in the Church of England in 1738-1742 under the divinely inspired preaching of Howell Harris and Griffith Jones. It was during this time that George Whitefield was converted before he went to the USA to preach the same gospel there! England – Perhaps the greatest names in England were the Wesley brothers - John (1703 - 1791) and Charles (1707 - 1788)! Together they revitalised a church quickly stagnating! Open air preaching, vibrant songs and zealous sermons were their hallmarks. At the heart of their preaching and hymnody were these thoughts “Justifying faith implies, not only a divine evidence or conviction that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, but a sure trust and confidence that Christ died for my sins, that He loved me and gave Himself for me.” You can see the reference in it's context by clicking here. Many came to faith because of them, and these people were discipled methodically. Together they founded the Methodist movement which gave birth to the Methodist denomination. The church is almost 1800 years old now. The Holy Spirit is still at work, empowering the church despite the Age of Reasoning and the ignorance of the spiritual aspects of life. That's it for this time! That is the conclusion of our series HAHA! I hope you have enjoyed this speedy journey in the life of the Church! The story of the Church continues, and will continue until the object and source of the Church's faith, Jesus Christ returns in glory just as He has promised to do! New Year's Resolutions fall into several broad categories such as, travel more, lose weight, quit smoking or drinking, handle money better, exercise more. Of the total number of people who made resolutions according to one study, less that 1 percent actually kept them to the end of the year. Jonathon Edwards made a list of resolutions when he was 19 years old. His list, however, centered on the pursuit of the glory of God which in turn he understood would bring him more happiness and joy.

WHY DO YOU SING AT CHURCH? Do you sing to God? Or do you “address one another in hymns and spiritual songs,” as the Scripture says? Do you close your eyes? What is your posture in worship? This book is designed with these questions in mind. Or maybe you don’t sing at church–or if you do, not with very much enthusiasm, hoping to hide behind a wall of sound. After all, not everyone sings at the same skill level, same rhythm, or pitch. After all, singing is one of the most commanded acts in scripture. Join us, for our new message series as we look at: why the Church should sing when the Church should sing how the Church should sing Together, we will gain a greater understanding of why they sing won’t dread a worship service, with arms crossed and shoulders slumped, but see singing as an opportunity to proclaim the gospel together in obedience to God. In this fourth part of our series we give consideration to the role of music in the local church...Jonathon Edwards said... The most perfect way that we have of expressing a sweet concord of mind to each other is by music. How does congregational singing impact the mission of the church.

Hey guys and welcome back to Fireside Radio's production of "Fireside Chat Radio Broadcast" This is Episode 5, and I elected to do a sermon again, although it isn't mine. This is a very powerful sermon written by a colonial minister named Jonathon Edwards, in 1728. Jonathon Edwards was a member of the congregationalist Church of New England, and some regard him as a Calvinist. Baptists also Regard him. Truth is, he was closer to the Baptist, rebelling against the congregationalist system. So sit back and enjoy "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry GOD" Here on Fireside Chat Radio Broadcast, Only on Fireside Radio: Always On.
Righteous deeds that rightly reflect a relationship with God come only as a result of our right standing with Him through Christ's death and resurrection.Final Thought: “Grace is glory begun, and glory is grace completed.” Jonathon Edwards.
Listen to Jonathon Edwards as he explains how South American countries like Peru are evolving as globalization takes them to new heights in their sophistication, but still longing for God in a major way.

1. God’s glory is almost beyond our comprehension. 2. He has given us revelation of his glory (enough to move us and excite our hearts). a. Hebrew “glory” in the OT is “kabod” i. Means weightiness, significance or meaningfulness. ii. There is nothing more meaningful than Him. iii. Psalm 96:3 “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” iv. He is the creator and sustainer of the universe. v. He is infinitely weighty – more than all the suns and worlds of the universe. b. Greek “glory” in NT is “doxa” i. Means “outshining.” ii. His glory shines out in his creation and his word. iii. His glory most clearly shines out of Jesus Christ. iv. John 1:14 – “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” v. The heavens declare the glory of God.
