Platz. Was ist da los? With 2019 officially upon us, we update our perspective on Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker and Igor Kokoskov, the core group for the Suns. Ayton is picking up in the NBA where he left off in college, finishing over the top of defenses and imposing his physical will. Can he become a truly dominant rim protector or interior scorer? Booker is more efficient and dishing more assists than ever, plus the Suns’ offense falls of a cliff without him. Is his ceiling higher than we thought heading into the season? Kokoskov suffers from the rebuilding coach syndrome that so often results in a firing after a few seasons, but he’s made his impression felt on the team in a hurry. Can he stick around longer than the past few Phoenix coaches? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On today's episode, we zeroed in on how Deandre Ayton looked on both ends via pick-and-roll situations during Las Vegas Summer League. David Nash wrote an article on this very facet, and we dove in even further on how he looked compared to his tenure at the University of Arizona. Are people unfairly throwing Ayton into the same conversation Ben Simmons went through two years ago? Also, we analyzed how Ayton and the rest of Phoenix's young core will slide into how Igor Kokoskov wants to run things as the new head coach. Nash has a great Twitter thread on this while being one of the first advocating for Kokoskov's hire before it gained steam. Finally, how should we expect the Suns to perform this upcoming season? Is 30-35 wins a healthy barometer to set, and is it enough to attract big-time names next summer? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Q1. On today’s episode, we gave our instant reactions to 46-year-old Utah Jazz assistant Igor Kokoskov being announced as the next head coach of the Suns. Kokoskov will be the first NBA head coach to be born and raised outside North America, and brings a pedigree as an assistant in the league as well as a championship head coach overseas. It seems like there will be an instant culture change in Phoenix. On the court, Kokoskov is known for pushing the tempo, creating open shots for everyone on the offense, and pushing players to develop into new roles. How does that bode for Devin Booker, Josh Jackson and the rest of #TheTimeline? Finally, we answered a few mailbag questions on Twitter about how the hire changes things from a personnel perspective in the draft and free agency. Learn more about your ad choices. On today’s episode, we roamed through the latest news as the Suns move into their second round of head coaching interviews. In an effort to fill the vacancy they created nearly eight months ago, the Suns spoke with around 12 or 13 candidates this summer, but appear to be rounding down that list. Igor Kokoskov earned an in-person interview Monday, while interim coach Jay Triano was informed the team would be moving on. Unless James Borrego or Steve Clifford return for a second interview this week or a new name joins the mix, it appears the Suns and Kokoskov are on track to be reunited when the Jazz-Rockets second series ends. We debated what hiring Kokoskov would mean for the franchise, and how might fans react. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Max and David return with an episode focused on the firing of Igor Kokoskov to start, and the 2019 Draft Class to finish. The guys jump right into the biggest news of the week, with the Suns letting go of their Head Coach. David clears the lungs with a rant focused squarely on the Suns franchise. After then discussing the next guys in line for the job, the routine Did You Know segment returns with a #44 theme. Alessandro Cozzi of Red Team Scouting then joins the podcast to discuss the 2019 NBA Draft. The guys start off with some talk on Zion Williamson, Ja Morant & RJ Barrett - before moving into the first grouping for this series of episodes; Cam Reddish, Brandon Clarke & De'Andre Hunter.
