Merci Johanne, Georges, Jaya, Eliott, Nathanaël, Sacha, Léa, Stella, Victor, Martin, Gayathrie, Gabriel, Alba, Gabrielle, Amalia, Alix, Ambrose, Titouan, Louméa, Marti, Lucia, Soan, Leonard, Saule, June, Louison, Elie, Nora, Louis, Siméon, Tom, Lucas, Natasha, Héloise, Iris, Flora, Freyja, Martin, Alba, Alma, Léon, Chloé, Simon, Soan, Eleonore, Mathys, Sigurdr, Lizia, Zephyrin, Helen, Raphaël, Maya Lou, Rose, Louise, Clémence, Dario, Gaspard, Emma, Antoine, Elise, Angus, Clémence, Maxine, Marius, Lily-Rose, Nina, Eva, Mila, Ayleen, Gaëlle, Gabriel, Elyna, Robin,Stan, Amaury, Emmy, Adèle, Zakarya, Thomas, Zoé, Nora, Léa, Valerio, Rosie, Salomé, Elior, Elise, Vinh, Gabin, Eleonore, Matisse, Zachary, Adess, Ayleen.MelyHébergé par Ausha. https://Art2Life.com - I recently returned from teaching a workshop at an extraordinary boutique retreat center on the outskirts of Marrakech. It is called Jnane Tamsna. Experiencing this place reminds me of 2 core ideas I teach artists to help make their art and, frankly, their life stronger: #1 Surround yourself with what brings you alive. #2 Never stop believing that whatever you can dream, more than likely, is possible. How can a particular place do this? How is it possible that experiencing the new feelings, colors and scents of this place inspire? How can the creative vision of one inspire so many? Today I am in conversation with the visionary designer and hotelier Meryanne Loum Martin. She has redefined luxury not in the usual financial way but in terms of exactly what money can't buy: Soul. She overcame and ignored prevalent racial and sexual prejudices and created Morocco's first lifestyle brand hotel. Today Meryanne and the places she creates are legendary. Icons of fashion, and design, as well as celebrities of film, dance. and music, all come to experience her contemporary, gorgeous lifestyle aesthetic. Her refined design sense, philosophy, and deep respect for Moroccan culture are all intertwined in a cosmopolitan approach to living and art now known worldwide as simply "Moroccan Style." Join Meryanne and me for this conversation about differences, mindset, and soulful opulence. We sit together amongst Moroccan antiquities, contemporary art and fresh-cut roses at her Moroccan destination, Jnane Tamsna. ================================ LISTEN IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN… A snapshot of my experience at Jnane Tamsna [3:19] The importance of inspirational places and experiences [5:57] Examples of how Meryanne designs spaces that inspire [17:17] How Meryanne developed the name for her venue before creating it [29:48] Meryanne's aesthetic: a daring, bold, creatively confident expression [35:48] ================================ RESOURCES MENTIONED Meryanne's book: Inside Marrakesh: Enchanting Homes and Gardens ================================= CONNECT WITH Meryanne Loum-Martin Meryanne's retreat center, where I taught: https://www.jnanetamsna.com/ Jnane Tamsna on Instagram Jnane Tamsna on Twitter Jnane Tamsna on Facebook ============================= CONNECT WITH NICHOLAS WILTON AND ART2LIFE: Get the Free COLOR TIPS PDF: https://workshop.art2life.com/color-tips-pdf-podcasts/ Follow the Sunday Art2Life Vlog: https://art2life.lpages.co/sign-up-for-the-a2l-vlog/ Follow Nicholas Wilton's Art on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nicholaswilton/ Follow Art2Life on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/art2life_world/?hl=en Subscribe on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe8dJWKgPKkW4W3fsb1vLeg

Let it go on the record that this is my favourite episode on the Africana Woman podcast. They say parents do not have a favourite child, that's a lie. I explain why it is my favourite right at the end. Meryanne has so much to share including: - the story of her ancestry - being authentic to who you are - creating sustainable economic opportunities for African artisans - legacy & succession - what being the beneficiary of generational wealth did for her - entrepreneurship Former Parisian lawyer. Passionate about architecture and interiors. Self taught architect and interior designer. Own and design award winning hospitality concepts in Marrakech since 1989. Won the 2000 Harpers and Queens award of " Best Private estate to rent in the world". Author of "Inside Marrakesh: enchanting homes and gardens" published by Rizzoli NY which went in record times in second print. I believe that hospitality is a tool to change the economy and opportunities of sectors of the population in Africa who masters crafts but not college education. It's a very busy week on the podcast, as we dive deep with both the Genshin Impact 2.5 update and Part VI of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, but before all that, Jonathan talks about his misadventures buying an OLED Nintendo Switch and trying to transfer content from his old Switch – it's ludicrously difficult! – and we cover several pieces of news including the debut trailer for Amazon's Lord of the Rings series, and Nintendo shuttering the 3DS and Wii U e-shops, ushering in a new golden age of video game piracy. Then we discuss the wonderful new content from this week's excellent Genshin update, including an outstanding new story quest for Raiden Shogun and a cool set of adventures in Enkanomiya, before jumping into our latest Gundam talk. The Origin OVA comes to a spectacular end with its sixth and final installment, “Rise of the Red Comet,” in which Zeon decimates the Earth Federation at the Battle of Loum, Char Aznable becomes a legend, and General Johann Ibrahim Revil delivers a speech that will change the course of human history. Gundam: The Origin comes to a spectacular end with its sixth and final installment, “Rise of the Red Comet,” in which Zeon decimates the Earth Federation at the Battle of Loum, Char Aznable becomes a legend, and General Johann Ibrahim Revil delivers a speech that will change the course of human history. It's a great episode, one part space naval epic, another part political espionage thriller, with a rousing closing act that brings us right to the doorstep of the original Mobile Suit Gundam with unforgettable aplomb. And along the way, there's plenty to discuss, debate, and gush over as we bring our journey through this outstanding OVA series to a close. This week brought the first Nintendo Direct presentation of 2022, and if it wasn't the most earth-shattering event ever, it sure brought a lot to love for fans of obscure JRPGs and/or sports games. We discuss all the news in depth, talk a little more Genshin Impact, and even spend a good 15 minutes gushing over the recent run of classic Doctor Who Blu-ray sets, before diving into Part V of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. “Clash at Loum” delivers not only the OVA's finest episode, but one of the single most memorable and powerful installments in the 40-year history of Gundam. Dramatizing Zeon's disastrous colony drop operation, Sayla Mass making a stand at Side 5, Ramba Ral and Crowley Hamon bemoaning the loss of a world that's passed them by, and Char Aznable taking the final, ultimate step towards becoming the legendary Red Comet, this episode is absolutely overflowing with pantheon-level sequences that are among the greatest Gundam has ever given us, all combining to paint a deeply affecting portrait of a world spun entirely out of control. This is as good as it gets.Time Chart:Intro: 0:00:00 – 0:04:47Stuff: 0:04:47 – 0:33:45Nintendo Direct: 0:33:45 – 1:19:02Gundam Origin V: 1:19:02 – 3:15:44Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Subscribe to the WEEKLY SUIT GUNDAM Podcast!Subscribe for free to 'The Weekly Stuff' in Apple Podcasts!Follow Jonathan Lack on Twitter!Follow Sean Chapman on Twitter!

Eve of Destiny, Part IV of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, is a messier installment than others in this series, failing to find as clear or compelling a through-line as prior or upcoming episodes, and taking a weird jump in the middle that feels like a key piece of story is missing. That said, it's still a highly entertaining part of this terrific series, featuring the first meeting between Char and Lalah, a powerful ending scene with Amuro and Fraw Bow, and an absolutely dynamite centerpiece action sequence on the moon, where mobile suits go into combat for the first time in the history of the Universal Century. There's more than enough here to discuss and enjoy, even if it's all something of a stepping stone to some of The Origin's best material yet to come.
Today's Support is Sexy REWIND episode was a dream come true. I had he opportunity to speak to Jnane Tamsna hotel owner Meryanne Loum-Martin in the hotel’s garden in Marrakech, Morocco. I read about Meryanne — a visionary of the industry and the first and only Black woman to own a hotel in Morocco — in several publications, including Essence and Black Enterprise — more than a year ago, and I vowed that I would one day interview her. I had no idea, however, that the interview would happen in person and that I would actually do so while staying at her stunning boutique hotel. On this episode, Meryanne shares her inspiring journey from Senegal to France to Marrakech, lessons she learned from the challenges and the triumphs along the way, how she created one of Morocco’s most beloved retreats under immense pressure of a looming deadline, and the incredible plans she has for creating a space where African artists and creatives of the diaspora are celebrated!

Having a conversation with Jnane Tamsna owner Meryanne Loum-Martin in the hotel's garden in Marrakech, Morocco, was literally a dream come true. I read about Meryanne -- a visionary of the industry and the first and only Black woman to own a hotel in Morocco -- in several publications, including Essence and Black Enterprise -- more than a year ago, and I vowed that I would one day interview her. I had no idea, however, that the interview would happen in person and that I would actually do so while staying at her stunning boutique hotel. (I am so grateful to Carmencita Whonder, Founder of OfWhonder, for making the connection.) On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, recorded at Jnane Tamsna, Meryanne shares her inspiring journey from Senegal to France to Marrakech, lessons she learned from the challenges and the triumphs along the way, how she created one of Morocco's most beloved retreats under immense pressure of a looming deadline, and the incredible plans she has for creating a space where African artists and creatives of the diaspora are celebrated!

With the success of Operation V, the Earth Federation was able to begin striking back against the overwhelming Zeon forces. With new mobile suits and determination, the Earth Federation sought to throw Zeon off the Earth and take the fight back into space.
In a declaration of independence, the Republic of Zeon renamed itself the Principality of Zeon and launched a surprise attack on the Earth Federation. Massacres and pitched battles lay ahead, as the prelude to one of the bloodiest times in the Universal Century.
With Zeon's mobile suits, they easily defeated the Earth Federation military in the early days of the One Year War. With victory for Zeon seeming inevitable, the Earth Federation drafted a plan to rebuild their military and produce mobile suits of their own. This plan would be known as Operation V.
