Oh the 80s. When the ghetto blasters were loud and white people wanted to control everything. Wait…..is it the same now…..i dunno. We are joined by Mike Maryman of Evil Episodes, Rad Radio and Theme Warriors Podcasts to discuss three films where this runs rampant. When someone is tearing down slums to make fancy apartments, it unleashes a beast that terrorize New Yorkers and make Edward James Olmos run nude with animalistic delight. All this and spirit animal cams in Wolfen. Next, when people start to turn up missing, it’s up to hobo advocates Daniel Stern and John Heard to get to bottom of it and avoid New York’s little mutant problem in 1984’s C.H.U.D. Finally, when one of Detroit’s finest gets brutally shot and left nearly dead, super land developer’s OCP adds some upgrades and turns Alex Murphy into super street soldier and unfortunately company property. All this and stair hating super bots in Paul Veerhoven’s satiristic bloody action opus Robocop from 1987.

We’re back and we’re bad. Well the movies are. Or are they? I am sans Jamie and X but I got Mike Maryman from Theme Warriors, Evil Episodes and the brand new Rad Radio with our picks for the second edition of So Bad It’s Good. Mike chose castaways and mad scientists for his choice. When their hot air balloon crashes on a remote island, the survivors are met by strange doctors, oddly clothed henchmen and scandily clad ladies! All this and bad white guy karate in Frankenstein Island. Then, what do you get when you mix cross dressing scouts, cocaine, bad puns, Corey Feldman, a mime and weird dog innuendo? You get one of the best Lethal Weapon homages ever in Loaded Weapon 1!
Here it is, folks. The first edition that pits two actors against one another to answer the age old question of these two dopplegangers, who’s scowl is it anyway! Mike Maryman joins Jamie and Gary to discuss what turned out to be quite the gem in “The Million Eyes Of Sumuru.” When two lotharios get caught up in a web of beautiful girls and general tomfoolery, they stumble onto a plot in which a harem of beautiful women have intentions to get their kicks by taking over the world using thier deadly feminine wiles and even wackier inventions. Keep calm and scowl on, beefers!
Hey Beefers. I am sans Jamie and X on this one so I called in a couple favors. I pulled Cort Psyops and Mike Maryman to do a potluck of cinematic gems for you. When shitty kids put an old man under surveillance for no good reason, their neighbors psyche gets pushed to the edge leading to an ultimate conclusion. James Caan stars in The Good Neighbor from 2016. Next up in Cort’ s pick, when a power tool weilding killer is taking body parts off of its victims, it’s up to three detectives to thwart the plan. All this and extreme anti smoking messages in Bloodsucking Pharaohs In Pittsburgh. Finally in my pick, when a master of disguise is strangling old ladies all over New York City, it’s up to a detective to outsmart and out wit this vicious killer in No Way To Treat A Lady.
Welcome to Episode 3 of Hero Hero Ghost Show! This time around, we’re talking Ryuhei Kitamura’s chanbara-inspired bouillabaisse of weirdness, Versus. Is this the perfect introductory film to Japanese horror? What’s with the kicking guy? Is our lead character as feminist as he claims to be? Also, we talk the origins of the film and why it’s kitchen sink approach to filmmaking may work in its favor! Big thanks to Mike Maryman and be sure to check out Mike and the rest of the gang at Evil Episodes! You can see Kitamura’s short film upon which Versus is based here. If there’s a movie you’d like to hear us discuss, drop us a line here. Join us for more talk about Asian horror at www.facebook.com/groups/HeroHeroGhostShow Thanks for listening! You remember those films you loved with furry sometimes slimy critters who are cute one minute and disastrous the next. Well! This is the episode for you! We are joined by Mike Maryman to discuss three gems of that genre. First up, when some little creeps escape from a vault, they make folks wildest dreams come true. Right before they kill them. All this and more in Hobgoblins. Next, when a worm/wolf type monster is found in an archaeological dig, he is really cute in a Gizmo rip off kind of way. When he gets hurt, he multiplies and his nasty offspring have shenanigans all over the desert. All this and Turd Ferguson in Munchies. Finally, in something good, when a boy reads an inscription on a children’s toy, he opens a doorway to hell in his back yard. All this and some pretty nasty faced little cretins in The Gate!
Join your host Duncan live from THE VOID discussing all things Horror on The Podcast Under the Stairs. On this episode Duncan returns to the airways in his temporary home away from home (in THE VOID). This week Duncan is joined by Mike Maryman of Evil Episodes & The Not So Evil Sidecast to continue this Top 10 series as we will pit Christopher Lee against Vincent Price using a list of their top 10 horror performances as selected by The Podcast Under the Stairs. At 9 on the list we have The Fall of the House of Usher (1960) starring Vincent Price against Dr Terror's House of Horrors (1965) starring Christopher Lee.
Cinema Beef is back with an all star cast. We are joined by Gene Hackman, Red Buttons, Roddy McDowell, Michael Caine, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, O.J. Simpson, Richard Widm, THat kid that played Bobby Brady, other shitty kids and most importantly Mike Maryman! We are covering three films made by the master of disaster, Irwin Allen! First up, when a giant wave films luxury cruise liner The Poseiden over, it is up to a small group of survivors to get to safety and hopefully see “The Morning After” All this and Ernest Borgnine yelling in The Poseiden Adventure. In The Towering Inferno, one of the grandest skyscrapers is making its big debut. Little do the folks know what cutting corners is gonna burn them in the end. All this and lots of burnt crackers in this 70s gem. Finally, killer bees are taking the U.S. by storm and I don’t mean the tag team. It’s up to Michael Caine and others to take care of business and save the nation from The Swarm!
