Riding Shotgun With Charlie #196 Karise & Jerel Crew That Gun Talk I've been going to the Rod of Iron Freedom Festival at the Tommy Gun Warehouse in Greeley, PA, for about 5 years now. While I was hanging out in the VIP room with a friend, Karise Crew came in and sat across the room. I invited her to come join us. I'm glad I did. Karise and her husband, Jerel, are instructors in Philadelphia. They were speaking at the event, too. So after some talking with them, I thought it would be a great idea to have them in the stagecoach. I have to start out saying that I love seeing and husband and wife teaming working together! This was the first year that they've been to the Rod of Iron. They were hoping to bring a whole group of people but a few didn't due to the weather. I also love that they know some of the folks that I know and both of our circles of friendship are growing. Jerel has family from Georgia and his father took him shooting as the youngest of five children. Karise used to hunt with her father, but her first purchase was with Jerel. He bought her a gun because she was robbed while only 10 feet from the police station. She got her permit before Jerel got his and she started carrying right away. Heading out on a trip to Mexico, Karise forgot that she had a gun in her purse. Of course she was stopped at the airport by the TSA. Fortunately, some of the police were Jerel's friends from his youth and they were lenient on her. This was the turning point for them. Someone saw her on the news and told her about the USCCA. They saw the passion from this man and wanted to learn as much as they could and pass that on to their friends and community. For Father's Day, Karise got Jerel enrolled in an instructor program. At his instructor course was the man who told Karise about the USCCA. It's truly a small world. It's always interesting to hear about the process to get permits around the country. I got my PA permit a couple years ago and it was easy. I went to the county sheriff's office, paid the $20,and waited an hour. Jerel talked about some people waiting 6 months in Philly. A friend of theirs moved from Philly to the suburbs and applied for a license. The people were about the leave and the woman at the office called them back and said their permits were ready right then. Once That Gun Stuff started offering classes, there was a “mystery shopper” in the class. It was someone from the Philadelphia gun permitting unit who came in to see what they were doing. The great news is the officer came up and told him that he was doing an excellent job and to keep it going. Jerel & Karise also run events for NAAGA, National African American Gun Association. NAAGA promotes gun rights to African Americans. Currently, they have more than 75 chapters around the country. A big part of their clients are women, which is the largest growing demographic of gun owners. Karise said she had a 73 year old woman whose daughter had been shot in the head twice and lived. This woman wants to get training and education so that this doesn't happen to her and that she can pass this on to her family. That Gun Club was nominated for gun club of the year at the NAAGA conference. They've been really knocking it out of the park with That Gun Talk. Both of them have worked in schools as a teacher and IT tech. Jerel said he's about to do full time as an instructor. They're taking their passion for firearms and teaching and turning it into a successful business. That's just great to hear from someone who started their business just a few years ago. Favorite quotes: Karise: “This is your American right. This is your 2A right. You have to exercise your right.” Jerel: “He said ‘I'm from the Philadelphia Police Department Gun Permitting Unit. I came here to see what you're teaching.' He shook my hand and said ‘you're doing an excellent job'.” Jerel: “She refused to let that situation turn her away from guns.” Karise: “Women have been coming out in droves to get more educated.” That Gun Talk https://www.thatguntalk.com/ That Gun Talk YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@JCrew4uthatguntalk That Gun Talk Instagram https://instagram.com/thatguntalk/ National African American Gun Association https://naaga.co/ Second Amendment Foundation https://secure.anedot.com/saf/donate?sc=RidingShotgun Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms https://www.ccrkba.org/ Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters. On today's episode of TFB's Behind the Gun Podcast our host Luke C speaks with Myloreal Anderson, Shanea Daniels, Akiethia Bost, and Jaron Smith of the National African American Gun Association about what they do for the African American Gun-toting community, as well as pretty much anyone else who wants to get good training that could help save the lives of themselves, or their fellow Americans. NAAGA has over 100 chapters across the nation and over 46,000 active members that are spread about all 50 states. Along with that NAAGA certifies its own firearms instructors and puts out a consistent set of curriculum that is rapidly expanding beyond basic pistol courses, and will soon include more advanced classes for those seeking it. NAAGA was officially started and launched on February 28, 2015, in honor of Black History Month. The founder and President of the National African American Gun Association is Philip Smith, a graduate of the University of California at Davis. He is an African-American Gun enthusiast and community organizer. He founded and started NAAGA with the primary goal to expose, educate, and motivate as many African American men and women to go out and purchase a firearm for self-defense and to take training on proper gun use. Our guests today form the two primary wings of operation of NAAGA with Shanea managing and organizing NAAGA's nationwide chapters, and Myloreal, Akethia, and Jaron organizing NAAG's network of qualified instructors which directly support and train its members. https://naaga.co/ https://www.facebook.com/naaganational https://www.instagram.com/naaganational/

Naaga - came before Simhadri. turned it off after 15 minutes. Such a loud and violent movie. Viyadagar and Deva composed the music Andhrawala - came after Simhadri and released with tremendous hype, first Telugu movie to have 10 lakhs people come to the audio launch, Rakshita weirdest character, NTR 2nd get up is so bad and simple routine revenge drama didnt work at all. I just remember it being bad. Niamey Niamey shook the industry if im not wrong. Raghava Lawrence was the choreographer. And Mumbai slum set was done in Hyderabad at a studio by Art director Chinna. Another song Kokkoka Misaa, nah dil lo ivvani visa, oorinchake samosa, naa favorite onion dosa. Samba - rod movie. Producer of the movie is Kodak Nani. Unintentionally funny. Out and out mass entertainer and too violent. So many heads get chopped off in this. Violence is not a problem but when it's senseless it becomes a lot to process. NTR has this weird dialogue delivery and he like shouts at the person and is hyper in all the emotional scenes. NTR comes to Prakash Raj house and sits down in a chair. Prakash Raj raises one eyebrow and then NTR raises both eye browses. This is supposedly to be a mass warning or mass counter lmao. Climax kicks head like a soccer ball and then kid stops a bomb by peeing on it. Then Prakash Raj kills Vijayakumar and pricks the dead body with the sharp point of the knife. Due to the hype and combo, it ended up as an above average at the box office but was not a hit. Naa Alludu - funniest movie. Intro NTR stands on a car and throws a rod and Shreya and Genelia go flying, then it shifts to a house set with NTR, Ramya Krishna, and Sriya Genelia. Some weird things happen and outdated story about atha alludu. Yem Peru Murugan is the best song Narasimhudu - Another rod movie, NTR is apparently a mute and makes all these funny faces biting his teeth around Ashish Vidyarthi and kills everybody. Only songs are good. Mani Sharma mass. All of the songs are so good, my favorite are Rajamandrike and Muddula Gopala, Ashok - another overly violent mass masala movie, Sonu Sood and his mom do some weird things and its just too long and outdated, Gola Gola song is all I remember NTR dance steps are so good. Shakthi - already reviewed it but Meher Anna already described it in the audio launch. Missile launch ki mana ice value enthandi. Ileana, sets, and mani Sharma music were the highlights. Pharaohs in 1983 apparently when the pyramids were built in 300BC. Story actually has potential with Shakthi peethams but it just turns into simple revenge drama. NTR get up in 2nd half as Rudra is worst. Oosaravelli - Came during Dookudu, Pilla Zamindar time, trailer created huge impact and generated huge openings, current wire dialogue and songs were good, but movie is rod. Rewatched it for the pod. Nothing in the movie. Badly written, cringe comedy aplenty, no entertainment and worst editing. Tamannah meets NTR on the highway and during their convo, NTR in a car and Tamannah in an ambulance keeps spinning. Villain Rakesh and Payal Ghosh worst lip sync. 2nd half most over the top flashback with Tamannah and her family, Anjaneyam episode is full headache. Vidyut Jammwal got his ass kicked by NTR in back to back movies and then Prakash Raj such a useless villain, BGM is also terrible. Ramayya Vasthavayya: movie originally had some other story but due it being too similar to Mirchi, Dil Raju asked for a rewrite and they made this crap. Too violent, routine, and boring. Comedy scenes are so bad and entire flashback is peaks of routine. NTR acting is nothing new and Harish Shankar downfall started with this movie. Songs by Thaman were good. Rabhasa: Came at a time when audience was done with Sreenu Vaitla's comedy template of making villains barks by entering a house and then this movie comes and NTR had no outstanding blockbusters since Brindavanam. Such cringe and routine comedy, same old family problem bullshit. Brahmanandam worst comedy.
Black history in these United States is American history. On this episode Molly and Bruce discuss being safe and the impact the recent shootings are having on them. Also discuss the perspective of owning guns and the state of guns laws in the country. Philip Smith of the National African American Gun Association (NAAGA) joins the podcast to discuss President Joe Biden's recent moves to change ATF leadership. Biden recently picked a second nominee to head the agency. Then he demoted the acting director and replaced him with a third candidate. Smith said NAAGA is unhappy that Marvin Richardson, a Black agent with 33 years of experience, has now been passed over three times for White candidates who are less qualified for the permanent director position. Smith said Richardson is well-liked by ATF agents and the industry alike. He argued Richardson is a non-partisan with the proper skill set to run the agency in the long term. Smith's comments were backed up by the Black Agents and Professionals Law Enforcement Association which spoke out in support of Richardson. He said the President is wrong to push aside Richardson in favor of other candidates. He said NAAGA was concerned with the racial dynamics of the pick but also the political implications of it. Both of the permanent director nominees Biden has chosen over Richardson have established track records as gun-control advocates. He said the President should not only reinstate Richardson to acting director but put him up as the permanent director nominee. Smith also explained NAAGA's view on permitless gun-carry and whether the group plans to become more politically involved as it continues to grow. Plus, Contributing Writer Jake Fogleman and I talk about what the newest video from the set of Rust tells us about Alec Baldwin's shooting. Special Guest: Philip Smith.

Ida B. Wells, W.E.B. DuBois, even Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. all have a place in one of the most obscured parts of our history - the Black tradition of gun ownership. Douglas Jefferson, the Vice President of the National African American Gun Association, argues that for Black people in America to be fully vested as citizens, we have to be able to experience the fullest freedom every single liberty granted in the Constitution - including the right to lawfully bear arms. Black History Year is produced by PushBlack, the nation’s largest non-profit Black media company. Obviously, the power that comes from knowing our history is important to you. PushBlack exists because we saw we had to take this into our own hands. You make PushBlack happen with your contributions at BlackHistoryYear.com. Most people do 5 of 10 bucks a month, but everything makes a difference. Thanks for supporting the work. Production support from Mikel Ellcessor and Jessica Rugh Frantz from Limina House and Sasha Kai Parker as editor/sound designer, with the PushBlack team: Tareq Alani, Brooke Brown, Eskedar Getahun, Abeni Jones, Patrick Sanders, and Cydney Smith. Thanks for tuning in to the Middle Men Talk Show today!! Activist and journalist Ida B. Wells once wrote that every black family should own a Winchester rifle. Gun ownership among African Americans has been on the rise since the election of Donald Trump, yet seemingly blacks people do not enjoy the same freedoms and protections as their white counterparts. With no end in sight to the negative perceptions, where do black people fit into the gun culture of America? The Second Amendment gives every citizen of the United States the right to bear arms. But does this truly apply to everyone? What are steps one should do to become a gun owner? What type of gun should a first-time buyer purchase? How many guns is too many? Do black people subject themselves to more danger by not open or concealed carrying? Is black gun ownership the same as white gun ownership? Will the rise in gun ownership lead back to the time when black people policed their own neighborhoods? Do we think the right to bear arms and self defense will be met with the same adherence to the law? At what age should we start teaching our children how to use a gun properly? Should black people join the NRA? What are the benefits of people of color joining the NRA?
Although this is a "largely symbolic resolution," it conveys the sentiment in the county at the leadership level of an active and supported gun community. One of our core principles is "Defend by any means necessary: Our family, Our tribe, Our neighbor's tribe, Our nation, The diaspora, The motherland."Since we are talking about Escambia County being a gun sanctuary, let's talk about gun education.Let's prepare to protect our families, everyone else is. Who is prepared to defend their family? Let's talk about all the ways you prepare to defend your self, your home, and your family. Join us @Bantucola on Facebook with the hashtag #guns.

Here’s three points I got from the John Wick 3 movie : 1. One of things I pulled out of this action packed movie is that relationships matter. 2. Blind loyalty hurts. 3. learn how to operate the firearm you run backwards and forwards, be proficient in clearing malfunctions, how to fix it, everything https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSXc5z9F7Do I have a Conversation with the best writer on the Black Man With A Gun blog, Dave B. Cole on hunting, being a writer for the Black Man With A Gun and more Gun Rights Alliance - join our list https://forms.aweber.com/form/54/1271685154.htm Today, I am looking forward at what I can do for the gun rights movement as a legacy. I want to be remembered for more than just being the OGaka the Black Man with A Gun™. Here’s what I plan. I am working with a app developer to create a mobile app that can be a platform directory for organizations like the GOA, USCCA, SAF, NAAGA, 2AO, and others to connect with us. IT will also have a directory and links to pages from content creators that are really the media for our side. The bloggers, podcasters, and YouTubers will have their own apps within this app. I am trying to get cutting age tech to protect us from the Bergs that don’t like us. (Bloom and Zucker.) It’s been a great life so far. Being involved in the gun rights movement has improved me. It has taught me to be a better citizen. It has made me appreciate freedom, history and the sacrifices of others. Communication is the magic sauce. Going to try it despite our mistrust of each other. Going to make it happen despite the need for goo gobs of money. The power has always been in the people. We are what makes this thing called freedom work. I think I can do this. I’ve worked with just about everyone. I’ve watched folks come and go. Like a sentinel, I have held my post. I have encouraged and discouraged posers as best I could. I have been an activist in the gun rights community since 1991. Before that I started as a firearms trainer for my government agency. From that I launched a side business to teach tactics and defense to civilians and security officers. I was part of the start of the concealed carry movement. I traveled with the NRA and the Law Enforcement Alliance of America to testify in a handful of states to change their racist policies and laws. Thus began my journey as the Black Man with A Gun™. I started a national gun club in 1991 to foster the growth of African Americans in the shooting sports. I published a book in 1999. I created a website in 2000. I’ve worked behind the scenes to select, qualify and protect people of color that became involved in Supreme Court cases. I’ve worked with the NRA. I even tried to get a job there. I’m a life member. I only turned it down because the salary was too low and not close to what they were paying the incumbent. I begged to be a functioning member on the GOA staff and after –way too much back and forth – got a position as the volunteer Urban Affairs guy. I didn’t do a thing with that. I resigned. Too early I guess. I’ve been a voting member on the CCRKBA and done the perfunctory “minority speaker slot” the GRPC but never made the masthead. I’ve worked with just about all the groups out there. My hats off to all the brothers and sisters now working with “x” organization. This is my attempt to sew all the pieces together. If you will support it, join the email list today so I can build a team to make this happen. We are the Gun Rights Alliance. M-W tactical on the accessory from Taran Tactical

I took the name of black man with a gun in 1999 to promote my book and gun rights activism. I thought I would stop after it no longer was effective. There are many pro-gun groups now but is there unity? What do we need? What has happened? On this week I talk about Black Lives Matter and SNCC. We have a new feature called Gun of the week. This week I talk about Glock. Interview with Charlie Cook of Gun Grams. And more... Please share the Mp3 link with a friend. Corpuksen ainejärjestölehti Naaga otti haltuunsa Ti-La 2016 -gallerian vuorokauden ajaksi 7. maaliskuuta.
For twenty five years I have been a gun rights activist and firearms trainer known internationally as the Black Man With A Gun. I’ve seen them come and I’ve seen them go. I almost faded myself but my time has not yet come. I am here to help and teach, support the next generation of American freedom fighters, patriots and leaders. This week, I catch up Phil Smith, founder of the National African American Gun Owners Association. He is our featured guest and we plan to have weekly updates here on the show. Also on your show, I have new firearms trainer Michael J. Woodland with a tip of the week. And our expert trainer, author and friend indulges me on my silly question and quest for info about 1911’s again. As this is my gun focus for the month.
