Lisa Wimberger began meditation at the age of 12 but without the proper knowledge and guidance she used it as an escape rather than a way to connect with herself. She created the process of Neurosculpting to save her own life out of necessity and commitment to her husband and daughter. By understanding the brains learning process, she created a process to disrupt her own flight/flight/freeze response ensuring she would never have an episode again. Start with a simple meditation or a neuroplasticity course. We'll meet you wherever you are comfortable”, says Lisa.In this episode of Shift with CJ, my guest is the founder of the Neurosculpting Institute and author of New Beliefs, New Brain, Lisa Wemberger. A member of the National Center for Crisis Management and other care associations, she has a private practice in Denver, CO, specializing in helping clients with stress disorders.Lisa Wimberger experienced the power of neuroplasticity first-hand. When conventional medicine offered no answers for her deadly seizures, she created her own regimen of meditation and life practices to heal herself. Today, Lisa has successfully taught her Neurosculpting method to veterans, first responders, and clients in the most stressful occupations.Neurosculpting IS the form of meditation she had to create to help her target an unknown trigger for this condition and rehearse a new script so she could circumvent another episode. It is the culmination of over thirty years of Lisa's meditation practice, honed by what neuroscience currently knows about brain maps. Today, I have him on the show to learn amazing facts about our brain and Neurosculpting. During our podcasts, you will discover:Vacation and Regular Days-17:10“Why are we not happy in our regular lives? Why can't every day feel like we are on vacation? “I asked Lisa.“I think we forget that it is just a frame of mind, so everything in life is like a lens, and imagine that today, you have your glasses, and lens of those glasses are your everyday lenses. You are going to experience life in many automated ways. Everyday expectations like food, work, social events, and a lot of those things that happen like the way they happened before, and they are your everyday lens, but all of a sudden, someone gives you a new pair of glasses. These will be your vacation glasses, and the lenses in those say ‘you are allowed 12 days off your to-do list' and are allowed to have different kinds of fun that you do not do on regular days. In reality, nothing has changed but your frame of mind”, replied Lisa.Addiction of Stress- 40:50“Do you think people have started to get addicted to stress and its remedies?” I asked her“Yes, I do feel that. Stress is the most life-affirming experience we have. It is the basis of living; everybody has a stress response to calm them down. It is a motivation to protect yourself and make your life valuable. It also comes with a buzz of energy that makes us feel alive. Our brain then keeps us reminding in a stressful situation that there is a thing, which can make our lives a bit easier and make us feel more energetic and optimistic. The brain wants you to be efficient, and so the more you involve yourself in stress, the more automated messages are generated by the brain to make your life easier, which results in addiction”, replied Lisa.Find out about more intriguing things. “Our trademarked process of meditation involves five easy steps to relax the body while focusing the mind for stress regulation, pattern rewiring, and performance optimization,” says Lisa.Enjoy Listening! To know more about Lisa Wemberger:Website:https://www.neurosculpting.com/about/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Author/Lisa-Wimberger-217432405062877/LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisa-wimberger-6331361YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/lisawimberger

In this episode of Bulletproof Radio, my guest Lisa Wimberger was struck by lightning at age 15 and lived. That lightning strike set in motion a grand mal seizure disorder that she lived with for the next two decades and ultimately influenced her life’s work with neuroplasticity. The seizures became life threatening, but that condition inspired her to find ways to protect and rebuild her body and mind. She went on to explore neuroplasticity, a process that helped her to disrupt her seizures.“There's a seizure halo from stress and maladaptive vagal tone and then there's a seizure. Well, there's a gap in space and time between those two things and it might be a fraction a second, but that is a response pattern that I've gotten really good at. Neuroplasticity says I can change those things. It doesn't tell me how exactly, but I'm going to figure it out. I had all of this meditation that I was not using for my well-being, and then all of the science, and I just backwards engineered.”The most profound insight she learned was that the way she was meditating was actually harmful to her. “When you hear the word meditation, it's not one size fits all,” Lisa says. “There's all different kinds and you have to know what works for your body.” Lisa founded the NeuroSculpting® Institute in Colorado, where she teaches people and organizations who suffer from stress disorders, including law enforcement teams. She created NeuroSculpting®, a 5-step meditation process that can help an individual release the grip of old patterns and entrain their brain to creating new and more supportive patterns, habits and behaviors. “The benefits are you still get to hack into your nervous system, and you get to file down the sharp edges of any thought that might have triggered you into arousal at any point in time, or you can create brand new thoughts,” she says. “Neuroplasticity doesn't care if it's an experience you've never had or an experience you've had. It only cares that you're programming it with buy-in, and it's going to store that in your mind as a pattern.”Lisa earned a master’s degree in Education, a Foundations Certification in NeuroLeadership, and certificates in medical neuroscience, visual perception, and the brain, and neurobiology. She’s written numerous books on neuroplasticity and stress management, including Neurosculpting: A Whole-Brain Approach to Heal Trauma, Rewrite Limiting Beliefs, and Find Wholeness and New Beliefs, New Brain: Free Yourself from Stress and Fear. She’s also co-creator of a digital app made up of interactive NeuroSculpting® modules that shift brain neuroplasticity and support well-being, called NeuroPraxis. Mariah worked on Wall Street over 20 years. When she left that long career, she bought an old church and renovated it into a photography studio. Little did she anticipate how many uses that old church studio would have. Her life derailed when her father went missing in another country and was never found again. The brain's ability to deal with ambiguity led to debilitating nightmares. This is a girl who is a rebel when it comes to pain. She doesn't give up easily. She had double knee surgery in her 20s and refused to be sidelined, so she started training as a distance runner. Constantly pushing her potential, she hit a wall with the loss of sleep and that's when she found the NeuroSculpting Institute. Her short explanation is that when we calm down our stress response we have access to the higher functions, which includes creativity, compassion and all that makes us human. Her healing led her to become certified in NeuroSculpting® and she' leading a workshop celebrating the week of women on March 7. I'll be leading a Life Strategy Design introduction at the end of her session. We both hope you will come and bring a friend who needs this. Register at http://www.therebelbrain.com/

The psychological edge gained by top persuaders cannot be overemphasized.  How do great persuaders prepare their minds for success?  This mental aspect is one of the most important (and usually most neglected) traits of success. Almost everyone wants to accomplish their dreams, achieve more, become a better person, or pursue bigger and better goals. Why do we fall short of our dreams and aspirations?  Let’s find the answer on this week’s podcast. This week’s guest is Lisa Wimberger.  She is the founder of the Neurosculpting Institute.  Her mission is to teach others how to reprogram the brain, change their beliefs and to share powerful stress management techniques or what she calls Neurosculpting. On this episode of the Healthy Wealthy and Smart Podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Melissa Morrison about her journey following a concussion. Melissa Morrison is the International Bestselling author of the book, Unstick Your Stuck. She is a Certified Co-Active Professional Coach, a Certified Neurosculpting Facilitator and a speaker. As a TBI Thriver Life Coach she works with TBI survivors to find their new normal so they can heal and gain their life back personally and professionally. In this episode, we discuss: -How Melissa’s concussion symptoms impacted her daily life -Melissa’s experience with medical providers following her concussion -Why Melissa became a life coach and began her work with TBI survivors -The various components of neurosculpting -And so much more!   Symptoms of a concussion can often go unnoticed at the time of injury. From Melissa’s experience, she states, “I didn’t think it was that bad. It was something that I thought would just go away.” Melissa was unable to receive appropriate medical management of her concussion leading to greater harm to her psychology. She states, “That was hard for me to look in the mirror and not see anything… There was a disconnect.”   One of the turning points of Melissa’s journey was when she was able to express herself freely and feel as though she was in a safe environment. With the help of her physical therapist, Melissa found that, “There was actually a chance after this that maybe I could heal… She understood what I was going through… She really listened to what was going on.” For concussion management, Melissa advises all medical providers to, “Really slow down and listen because a lot of times the processing of the person with a concussion is slower than it was prior to… Really taking the time and believe them. Believe what they’re saying.”   Melissa’s life path was altered following her injury in a direction that has led her to pursue her passions. Despite the hardships, she remarks, “Having this concussion was a wakeup call from the universe.”   For more information on Melissa: I am Melissa S. Morrison, CPCC, CNSF, CFE.   I am a recovering accountant and a brain injury thriver who found my passion as a life coach and an author. I specialize in working with people who want to stretch the edges of their comfort zone by transforming and taking the lead in their lives. As a traumatic brain injury survivor, I understand what it means to personally transform. I am living proof that you can step into your truth no matter what circumstance you face in life.   I obtained my coaching certification from the Coaches Training Institute as a Co-Active Professional Coach. I am a Certified Neurosculpting® Facilitator from the Neurosculpting® Institute, aimed at improving lives using neuroscience through education of overall brain health and re-wiring old stories through meditation.   My career background in leadership and business in auditing, consulting, and fraud creates a unique viewpoint as a life coach. As a Certified Fraud Examiner, I am equipped with the tools to recognize and eliminate the personal fraud we all hide behind.   I excel at being creatively curious with clients, bringing my strong intuition and awareness into the space and bringing the energy and fun we need back in our lives.   Here is me. I am loving, caring and powerful. On the other hand: I’m blunt; I’m bold; I’m a risk-taker. I am also driven, curious, inspirational, and intelligent. Welcome to the Emerging Women podcast, where we hear from brilliant women leaders creating big change in the world. I’m Chantal Pierrat, your host, and my guest is Lisa Wimberger, founder of the Neurosculpting Institute. Lisa researched neuroscience and created the practice of neurosculpting to heal herself from a trauma you have to hear to believe (it starts with being struck by lightning and gets weirder from there). Since then she’s brought the practices and process of self-directed neuroplasticity to help everyone from street police to working professionals down-regulate negative patterns of chronic or traumatic stress. Today we talk about: why the brain makes patterns and scripts how neurosculpting can help you renegotiate patterns that no longer serve you fear and free will how to make memory an expansive fuel instead of a limiting cage two simple practices to get your brain and body communicating as they work together to repattern your stress response Lisa will be hosting the workshop “Neurosculpting for Leadership in the Zone” at Emerging Women Live 2017 in Denver, CO.
