Skye Chilton of Real Mushrooms returns to the Mycopreneur Podcast today to discuss the launch of Real Mycelium, a 100% pure Lion's mane mycelium product with zero grain, starch or fillers. The benefits of pure Lion's Mane mycelium have been clinically validated, yet most products on the market contain myceliated grain rather than pure mycelium -- we discuss the significance of this product release and the mushroom & mycelium product category more broadly on today's show. Hey everybody! Episode 194 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Robert Gourlay. Robert is a scientist, in, I think, the best definition of that word, someone who is an innovator, a pioneer, a philosopher, and who looks at the world through a holistic lens. He has dedicated his life to the study of water and how structured, negatively charged water supports and helps humans and life to flourish. We spoke about his background, how an NDE helped to open him to his passion for water, what structured water is and the benefits, how to improve health through water, water on a micro and macro scale, climate science, and much more. It was a fascinating conversation, and I really think Robert is doing amazing work in the field of water and life and has much wisdom to share to help to improve people's lives on the individual and collective levels. He details the benefits of specific mushrooms: Turkey Tail for immune support, Lion's Mane for cognitive function, Cordyceps for kidney and lung health, and Golden Oyster for mitochondrial function. As it turns out, mushrooms may play a far greater role in human health than we originally thought - and as such, may deserve a place in every clinical protocol. In this episode, I'm joined by long-time herbalist and mushroom expert Lee Carroll for a fascinating conversation about Lion's Mane, mushroom quality, and two new products from Real Mushrooms: Lion's Mane Focus and Lion's Mane Calm. We talk about why mushrooms may need to be viewed less as an "extra" and more as a foundational part of long-term health support, especially when it comes to cognition, stress resilience, sleep, gut health, and healthy aging. We also unpack where these two new formulas may fit in practice. Lion's Mane Focus is designed for brain fog, memory complaints, mental sharpness, and cognition. Lion's Mane Calm is designed for irritability, stress overload, poor sleep, and nervous system support. These products are especially relevant for perimenopausal and menopausal women, where we so often see cognitive fuzziness, mood shifts, sleep disruption, and that frustrating sense that something just feels off. But their clinical use certainly does not stop there. Lee and I also talk about why mushroom quality matters, what practitioners need to understand about choosing mushroom products, and how to think more strategically about using Lion's Mane in practice. This episode is sponsored by Real Mushrooms. What we cover in this episode: Why mushrooms may deserve a place in every clinical protocol Lion's Mane Focus for cognition, memory, and brain fog Lion's Mane Calm for irritability, stress, and sleep Why these formulas may be especially helpful for menopausal women Why mushroom quality still matters when choosing products How to think clinically about Focus vs Calm Resources: Real Mushrooms special offer - Sign up for a Real Mushrooms Practitioner Account, place an order priced at $150 or more on their website, and drop Ronda's name as your referral to get a free bottle of both Lion's Mane Calm and Focus. Hey everybody! Episode 175 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Josie Castañeda. Josie and I share a mutual friend, Ian Darrah, so I was really happy to find that out and to sit down and speak with her. Josie has a really interesting life story that saw her pursue many different paths before returning to her roots. She wrote a beautiful beginners guide to curandersimo drawing upon her different practices and Mexican and Cuban roots. I found it a really good, concise read and was happy to have her share in her story, life experiences and wisdom. She has a lovely energy and I'm sure you all will gain a lot from her wisdom. Hey everybody! In this episode, I spoke with Sam Believ. Sam is an interesting guy. I was recently on his podcast and had him on mine. We spoke about Sam's past working as an engineer, his depression that eventually led him to ayahuasca or yagé, and how he eventually founded a center in Colombia. We spoke about these things and some of the culture in Colombia around the traditions and uses of yagé. It was a very interesting conversation and I think you all will gain a lot from Sam's story, his knowledge of yagé and Colombia, and his insights into this medicine. Most notably, Chinese Taoist monks wrote of using it to promote calmness, as well as to enhance their meditative practices. Chinese royalty used Reishi to promote longevity and held this “mushroom of immortality,” in high esteem.Reishi was listed as the most cherished among the superior herbs, which are considered to support a long life, support healthy aging, boost qi, and make the body light [3].Real Mushrooms ensures that the Reishi products are made from the mushroom (fruiting body) and contain higher levels of the beneficial compounds beta-D-glucans and triterpenes with NO grain fillers.Shockingly, a study analyzing commercially available Reishi mushrooms supplements showed that only 5 of 19 products tested could be verified as genuine Reishi mushrooms. One way to identify the purity of our Reishi product is its dark color and bitter taste, both characteristic of true Reishi. We recommend taking two Reishi capsules a day, over a prolonged time to notice the nutritional benefits of this incredible functional mushroom.Learn more about Real MushroomsListeners of the show can save 30% OFF the first order using the code:RMFOREVER30
Hey everybody! Episode 173 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Rael Inshan. Rael is an interesting guy who specializes in the amanita muscaria mushroom. I was really happy to have him on to speak about this sacred medicine as its not a topic I have covered much. We spoke about his difficult childhood and how that led him to South America to work with different indigenous medicine traditions. This eventually led him to discover the amanita muscaria mushroom in the woods near him and to begin working with it and to learn, firsthand, it's benefits. He speaks about the wisdom it has taught him about it's medicine on the individual level as well as the collective and a vision of a new earth that he feels the mushroom is guiding us towards. Hey everybody! In this episode, I spoke with Adrian Freedman. Adrian recently came into my radar as he was performing in a festival that I knew about. We delayed our talk unit we could meet in person and I'm glad we did. Adrian has a really deep presence and we spoke about his journey being trained in classical music, his learning the Japanese shakuhachi flute and buddhism, his encounter with Santo Daime and ayahuasca, and what he has learned in many decades walking this path. We went over three hours and I really enjoyed speaking with Adrian and trust you all will get a lot out of the depth, wisdom, and clarity of Adrian. Note I had some difficulties with the audio and needed to use voice enhancement so there is some distortion in our voices from time to time, apologies! Hey everybody! Episode 161 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Mariana Mae. Mariana is an artist, cultural bridge and healing arts practitioner that I met through our mutual friend Jessica Begin. I was really impressed by Mariana's wisdom. We sat down and spoke about her background, her work as an artist, how pottery brought her to the Amazon to learn from the Shipibo people, and how that opened up a gateway to plants and medicine. She has a really interesting story and she weaves these different paths beautifully together. I trust you all will gain much from this episode. Hey everybody! In this episode, I spoke with Michael Amster. Michael is a really interesting guy. He is a medical doctor who has bridged many different spiritual paths together. Through mindfulness he developed a practice to, as he puts it, microdose awe. He co-wrote a book called The Power of Awe which is about just that, the power of awe to positively influence our lives. As someone who works with plant medicines, I also think that this experience of awe is one of, if not the most important, aspects of this work with plants and also at the core of what it means to be a human being. It was a pleasure to have Michael on to share his research and I trust you all will gain much from this interview. Todd and Lacey and I go quite far back where we met working together at the ayahuasca center the Temple of the Way of Light. Hey everybody! Episode 149 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Alex Lasarev. I met Alex many years ago through a mutual friend, John Keegan, who I also had on the podcast (ep. 60). Over the years I really respected what Alex stood for, especially during the pandemic where he was, for me, a voice of reason and dissent against much of the authoritarianism. Alex has had a really interesting life and we spoke about his background, traumatic childhood, how that led him to overcome his fear and become a renowned dating coach, his journey into spirituality and plant medicines, the Covid pandemic and how he was an advocate of freedom and love, his work with cancer treatments, and his role as a comedian and the power of comedy. This was a really varied interview and Alex has a fascinating life and I think you all can gain from his life and wisdom. Hey everybody! Episode 148 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Remi & Ashley of Kumankaya Healing Center. I had heard about Remi a number of years ago as I am friends with and have interviewed two of his friends and colleagues, Joe Tafur (ep15) and Martina Drassl (ep42). They spoke very highly of Remi and his dedication and skill to the plant medicine path. He was a Christian monk for a number of years before apprenticing with a renowned Shipibo Onaya (ayahuasquero) Ricardo Amaringo, at the healing center Nihue Rao. That is where he met Ashley, his wife, who has had an interesting journey herself coming to plants and also apprenticed there. It was a pleasure to sit down with both of them and learn about their background, speak about plants, ayahuasca, the Shipibo lineage, dietas, master plants, cosmovisions, and what they have learned on their path. Their depth of knowledge, training, and wisdom in this field is very apparent and I trust you all will gain much from their extensive knowledge.
