Hey everybody! Episode 157 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with my friends Todd and Lacey. Todd and Lacey and I go quite far back where we met working together at the ayahuasca center the Temple of the Way of Light. They have started their own ayahuasca retreat called Intertwining Medicines where they work within the Shipibo lineage. It was a pleasure to sit down and catch up with them both. They have been involved in this medicine path for a long time and both hold a lot of wisdom and teachings. We spoke about their background, facilitation, healing, black magic and brujeria, and the evolution of this work. I have a lot of respect for both of them and think they have a lot to share. Hey everybody! Episode 149 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Alex Lasarev. I met Alex many years ago through a mutual friend, John Keegan, who I also had on the podcast (ep. 60). Over the years I really respected what Alex stood for, especially during the pandemic where he was, for me, a voice of reason and dissent against much of the authoritarianism. Alex has had a really interesting life and we spoke about his background, traumatic childhood, how that led him to overcome his fear and become a renowned dating coach, his journey into spirituality and plant medicines, the Covid pandemic and how he was an advocate of freedom and love, his work with cancer treatments, and his role as a comedian and the power of comedy. This was a really varied interview and Alex has a fascinating life and I think you all can gain from his life and wisdom. Hey everybody! Episode 148 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Remi & Ashley of Kumankaya Healing Center. I had heard about Remi a number of years ago as I am friends with and have interviewed two of his friends and colleagues, Joe Tafur (ep15) and Martina Drassl (ep42). They spoke very highly of Remi and his dedication and skill to the plant medicine path. He was a Christian monk for a number of years before apprenticing with a renowned Shipibo Onaya (ayahuasquero) Ricardo Amaringo, at the healing center Nihue Rao. That is where he met Ashley, his wife, who has had an interesting journey herself coming to plants and also apprenticed there. It was a pleasure to sit down with both of them and learn about their background, speak about plants, ayahuasca, the Shipibo lineage, dietas, master plants, cosmovisions, and what they have learned on their path. Their depth of knowledge, training, and wisdom in this field is very apparent and I trust you all will gain much from their extensive knowledge. Jasper is a mycologist and educator and it was really a pleasure to sit down and speak with Jasper. We got into mycology, a bit of education on mushrooms, their medicinal and spiritual use, the history of mushroom use in ancient cultures around the world, and even the ideas that their use was at the forefront of modern spiritual practices and even advanced the evolution of humans. Jasper has a wealth of knowledge and I think is a kindred spirit on this pursuit of knowledge and wisdom and I really enjoyed this conversation and believe you will as well. Hey everybody! Episode 143 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Paul Hutchinson. Paul was introduced to me through a mutual acquaintance. Paul is a really fascinating guy. He was a very successful entrepreneur who was called, literally, to begin to work undercover saving children from child trafficking. He was one of the characters the film Sound of Freedom was based on as well as a producer. Paul and I sat down to speak about his life, his work saving children, notions of trauma and darkness, what it means to be a warrior of light, and how he has found that working with plant medicines has had a revelatory effect on himself and changed his work to not only patch symptoms, but to get to the root causes of human suffering and ending abuse. I really honor Paul and his work and am sure you all will find this a fascinating conversation. As pets occupy increasingly important roles in our family lives, people are investing more than ever in maintaining their health. The veterinarian has become the furry child's pediatrician. Also, pet parents look for the same wholesome nutrition in the pet food aisle as in the grocery aisle. They are also starting to add healthy supplements to the food bowl. Much as they do for parents and children, animal-specific supplements help enhance pet health, quality of life, and longevity.Among those healthy supplements pet parents give their four-legged family members, mushrooms are now the fastest-growing category. As a result, pet parents are seeing great results in their pets' health when they share their healthy meals and healthy supplements with them. Are you looking to add healthy mushrooms to improve your pet's health? Are you confused by all the different types of mushrooms and mushroom products available? In this episode, we outline the basics of mushroom supplements, which ones to consider first, for what purpose, and ideally in what format.Guest: Joni Kamlet is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant (CCRA).She also has her certification in Applied Clinical Nutrition (for humans). Joni witnessed the benefits of raw feeding, homeopathy and herbs in 1996 when her dog was diagnosed with mammary cancer (and Joni was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the same time). Both of their positive responses to natural therapies started Joni on her holistic path, and she has been working in the field of integrative veterinary medicine ever since. Joni is passionate about holistic options for both animals and humans. She is now embracing her mushroom passion in her position as Director of Veterinary Education and Outreach for Real Mushrooms.Listeners can save 30% off when using the code: Forever30 at check out when visiting Realmushrooms.com

How do you view this issue and are there regulations in China? How do you grow mushrooms? Please share more on the process. What are medicinal mushrooms and their primary uses? What are the main active ingredients of medicinal mushrooms? How important is it to buy organic mushrooms? As for the mushroom supplement industry, there seems to be a lot of confusion about what consumers are buying and taking. Hey everybody! Episode 140 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Matthew Toussaint. Matthew came highly recommended to me and I was really glad we could make this podcast happen. Matthew is an anthropologist who came to plant medicines at a young age. It brought him to the Peruvian Amazon where he began a deeper dive and apprenticeship with ayahuasca and a lineage of curanderismo. We spoke about his background, ayahuasca, dieta, apprenticeship, tradition and lineage, myth, tree medicine, martial arts, christianity, imagination, meditation, and other topics. I think this is a really in-depth interview and one of the better and more informative talks you will find about these specific subjects in regards to plant medicines. It's a testament to Matthew's work and dedication and I trust you all will gain much from his wisdom. After an early childhood trauma—the sudden death of my mother, when I was four—I found it hard to believe in much of anything. The election of Ronald Reagan, when I was nine, only underscored the feeling that the world didn't make much sense. Then, when I was eleven, my school got funding to purchase new telescopes and the science teacher gave the battered old ones away to interested students. I was one of them, and that telescope changed my life.Peering through the eyepiece and watching the surface of the Moon unroll itself before me, I felt a powerful sense of homecoming. Gazing at the terminator—the line that divides the light and dark sides of the Moon—I felt there was something here for me, a riddle I'd gazed at my whole life but never understood.Ever since then I've been on a mission to explore this place, whether through psychedelics or my time in the D.C. punk scene. I sensed there was something beyond what I saw with my own two eyes, something that might explain the sense of unreality I'd felt ever since I was young. What I was writing towards, I only see now, was a sense of belonging.”To learn more about or contact Seth, visit his website at: https://www.sethlorinczi.com/To view the recent documentary about us, Sacred Tobacco, visit: https://youtu.be/KB0JEQALI_wIf you enjoy the show, it's a big help if you can share it via social media or word of mouth. Hey everybody! Episode 138 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Scott Stanley. Scott is the founder of the ayahuasca church, Arizona Yage Assembly (AYA) as well as the North American Association of Visionary Churches (NAAVC). I was interested to bring Scott on to speak about the legal status of plant sacraments in the US. I think Scott is a really good representative in that he has been involved in a legal battle with the US government over religious freedom and actually is suing the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) and seems to be in a good position. We spoke about his background, ayahuasca, the history of churches and religious freedom in the States, principles and morality, and why he's involved in doing this work. Hey everybody! Episode 137 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Marta Fabregat. Marta was recommended to me by a mutual friend, Cathy Coyle. Marta is one of Cathy's teachers and I trust Cathy's recommendations so I was sure Marta would have a lot to share, and she did. We spoke about Marta's background, her working in Ecuador with Huachuma, her past with activism, how that lead her to Ireland, and how she now bridges multiple approaches including somatics into plant medicine work. We spoke about her work with trees and learning directly from them via the dieta, and this was very fascinating to me as its very similar work to what I do. Hey everybody! Episode 135 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Tony Moss. I had known about Tony for a while and, as we spoke about in the show, he came to this plant medicine work over 35 years ago. We sat down and spoke about his life, his career in music, his work with ayahuasca and how that shaped his music into medicine music, his learning with different indigenous traditions, his path in bridging these traditions with Western traditions, and the role of elders. I was really happy to have Tony on to share in his wisdom and I think you all will get a lot out of this episode. Forever Young Radio Show with America's Natural Doctor Podcast
Guest: Joni Kamlet is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant (CCRA). She also has her certification in Applied Clinical Nutrition (for humans). She is now embracing her mushroom passion in her position as Director of Veterinary Education and Outreach for Real Mushrooms. Talking Points: -Do veterinarians learn about holistic medicine in vet school? -One thing I always find fascinating is that even the most health-conscious humans (including holistic practitioners like chiropractors, acupuncturists, integrative MD's) seem to have a disconnect between how they take care of themselves, and what they are feeding their pets. They follow the veterinarian's recommendation to give dry and highly inflammatory kibble every day for the lifetime of the pet. We wouldn't do that to ourselves, but this is how most people are feeding their pets. -There's an epidemic of cancer and autoimmune disease in our companion animals, and I feel strongly it's directly related to not only what we are feeding them, but the high doses of toxins, endocrine disruptors, etc. in their environment.-How do mushrooms fit into veterinary practice?-What supplements should every veterinarian have in their toolbox?-What applications do mushrooms have for pets? -Do mushrooms have any contraindications with other medicines? -Are there certain supplements or foods that pets should be taking proactively/ lifelong? -What are some basic holistic strategies for aging pets?-What are the main active ingredients of medicinal mushrooms?Listeners can save 30% off when using the code: Forever30 at check out when visiting Realmushrooms.com

Hey everybody! Episode 127 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Christina Allen. Christina was recommended to me by a past guest and friend Joan Parisi Wilcox. Joan spoke very highly of Christina and so I was happy to have Christina on the podcast. Christina shared in her story and what led her to her shamanic calling, her time in the early psychedelic movement with the Grateful Dead, her studies as a physicist and her interest and work in consciousness, her time with Alberto Villoldo, and eventually her finding her calling learning from the pacos of the Andean Qero tradition. This destiny was fostered by growing up in Alaska where she was surrounded by the influences of the indigenous people there. She moved to California in her teens where she was deeply immersed in the psychedelia of the 1970's, and then she went on to college. At this point it was clear to her that everything was energy and everything was conscious. She wanted to be a medicine woman. When it became apparent that there was not a degree program to accommodate her needs, she created her own path. She started with trying to better understand the energetic nature of reality by studying physics. Then she tackled the brain and consciousness in a graduate neuroscience program. Christina's healing journey, however, eventually led her away from academia and deep into the healing traditions of Peru. Her training came most specifically from the energy medicines of the high Andes, but she has also spent time in the jungles. It is through these teachings and experiences that she finally did heal. For over 20 years she has been practicing and teaching the Andean healing arts, pairing this wisdom with her western education. She also writes about how to heal from trauma based on her own journey, and the observations that come from her extensive client work.” To learn more about or contact Christina, visit her website at: https://www.austinshamaniccenter.com/If you enjoy the show, it's a big help if you can share it via social media or word of mouth. Christina has a beautiful story and a lot of wisdom to share so I think you all will get a lot from this episode.
