Lisa Wimberger began meditation at the age of 12 but without the proper knowledge and guidance she used it as an escape rather than a way to connect with herself. At the age 15, she was struck by lightening which set off a series of seizure like episodes extending into her adulthood causing her heart to stop on multiple occasions. She created the process of Neurosculpting to save her own life out of necessity and commitment to her husband and daughter. By understanding the brains learning process, she created a process to disrupt her own flight/flight/freeze response ensuring she would never have an episode again. Now as the founder of the Neurosculpting Institute, co-founder of the NeuroPraxis App and author of seven books, she teaches audiences from corporate leaders to FBI to Secret Service how to manage the challenges in life, regulate ones emotions and intentionally focus on appreciating the unremarkable. @neurosculpting, @lisa_wimberger

After being hit by lightening at age 15, Lisa Wimberger began having seizures so bad she would flatline. Literally. Desperate to retrain her brain, she invented a brand new modality: Neurosculpting. Now Neurosculpting is being used by everyone from first responders to those who struggle with chronic pain and health conditions, to those who just want to optimize performance. It's a wholly original, intensely impactful tool. On the podcast this week, Lisa and I talk about how she “downloaded” the idea for Neurosculpting, what the vagal nerve why everyone should be “tuning” it, and how vagal nerve tone impacts our female organs.

Lisa Wimberger is the creator of Neurosculpting®, a trademarked process of meditation involving five easy steps to relax the body while focusing the mind for stress regulation, pattern rewiring, and performance optimization. With Jody Levy (ep 61), she co-created the NeuroPraxis App, a series of meditation modules that support wellness, calm, and daily balance. Lisa created this modality out of her own personal desperate need to heal her trauma. On her 15th birthday, she was struck by lightning, which sent her already present freeze trauma response into overdrive. She began to have life-threatening seizures in which she would flatline and go through excruciating resuscitations. During her last episode, she vowed to find a solution as she knew she would not make it back if it occurred again. This prompted her deep dive into the world of neuroscience education. The result was the creation of Neurosculpting®, a form of meditation that targeted an unknown trigger for her condition and rehearsed a new script so she could circumvent another episode. Lisa's story floored us. And her explanation of how Neurosculpting® works made us realize just how revolutionary this modality is, and how relevant it is as a tool for our current climate rampant with fear, anxiety and stress. Start with a simple meditation or a neuroplasticity course. We'll meet you wherever you are comfortable”, says Lisa.In this episode of Shift with CJ, my guest is the founder of the Neurosculpting Institute and author of New Beliefs, New Brain, Lisa Wemberger. A member of the National Center for Crisis Management and other care associations, she has a private practice in Denver, CO, specializing in helping clients with stress disorders.Lisa Wimberger experienced the power of neuroplasticity first-hand. When conventional medicine offered no answers for her deadly seizures, she created her own regimen of meditation and life practices to heal herself. Today, Lisa has successfully taught her Neurosculpting method to veterans, first responders, and clients in the most stressful occupations.Neurosculpting IS the form of meditation she had to create to help her target an unknown trigger for this condition and rehearse a new script so she could circumvent another episode. It is the culmination of over thirty years of Lisa's meditation practice, honed by what neuroscience currently knows about brain maps. Today, I have him on the show to learn amazing facts about our brain and Neurosculpting. During our podcasts, you will discover:Vacation and Regular Days-17:10“Why are we not happy in our regular lives? Why can't every day feel like we are on vacation? “I asked Lisa.“I think we forget that it is just a frame of mind, so everything in life is like a lens, and imagine that today, you have your glasses, and lens of those glasses are your everyday lenses. You are going to experience life in many automated ways. Everyday expectations like food, work, social events, and a lot of those things that happen like the way they happened before, and they are your everyday lens, but all of a sudden, someone gives you a new pair of glasses. These will be your vacation glasses, and the lenses in those say ‘you are allowed 12 days off your to-do list' and are allowed to have different kinds of fun that you do not do on regular days. In reality, nothing has changed but your frame of mind”, replied Lisa.Addiction of Stress- 40:50“Do you think people have started to get addicted to stress and its remedies?” I asked her“Yes, I do feel that. Stress is the most life-affirming experience we have. It is the basis of living; everybody has a stress response to calm them down. It is a motivation to protect yourself and make your life valuable. It also comes with a buzz of energy that makes us feel alive. Our brain then keeps us reminding in a stressful situation that there is a thing, which can make our lives a bit easier and make us feel more energetic and optimistic. The brain wants you to be efficient, and so the more you involve yourself in stress, the more automated messages are generated by the brain to make your life easier, which results in addiction”, replied Lisa.Find out about more intriguing things. “Our trademarked process of meditation involves five easy steps to relax the body while focusing the mind for stress regulation, pattern rewiring, and performance optimization,” says Lisa.Enjoy Listening! To know more about Lisa Wemberger:Website:https://www.neurosculpting.com/about/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Author/Lisa-Wimberger-217432405062877/LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisa-wimberger-6331361YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/lisawimberger

Though she was pronounced dead on multiple occasions, she proceeded to create Neurosculpting: a powerful technique to help people like her successfully heal their trauma, rewrite their limiting beliefs and find wholeness. The one with Lisa Wimberger and how being struck by lightning on her 15th birthday profoundly shaped her life. Because for the years to follow she experienced seizures that would 'take her out'. Her heart would stop, her brain would shut off and she would experience cyanosis (when you turn blue). Lisa says her body was in effect 'playing dead.' She was told there was nothing that could be done about her seizures and her flatlining. But she was given a name for this and a cause - stress. Not accepting nothing could be done, and saying that she'd grown up rising to overcome anyone who told her she couldn't do something, she dedicated herself to researching neuroscience and the practice of self-directed neuroplasticity. And she combined this with her meditation practice. This led her to create the truly unique practice of Neurosculpting® which she used to heal herself. She's never had a seizure since. It's now a practice that has been helping so many people - from those in law enforcement through to leaders in organisations - to release the grip of stress, trauma and negative thought patterns. And is helping others to create the beliefs and stories which inspire us to achieve what we want and deserve in our daily lives. This episode is timed for the launch of Neurosculpting® in the UK, as I become the UK's first certified Neurosculpting® facilitator to help people through and recover from the stress of the pandemic. And to enable you to live a mojo filled life with greater health, wealth and happiness. In this episode Lisa shares her remarkable story, the neuroscience, how Neurosculpting® works and how it can be applied to help you navigate daily life with less stress, overwhelm and with more confidence.
Kari Dunlop is a certified functional medicine health coach and wellness junkie who specializes in working with inherited family trauma. A former tv producer, Kari now helps people see how the real-life stories of their family histories are unknowinging connected to the challenges they currently struggle with. By becoming a detective of their family stories, she helps people see how the heartbreaks, resentments and disappointments of our parents and grandparents can live on in our depression, anxiety, financial hardships, relationship struggles and even our perpetual people pleasing. It didn't start with us and the good news is that we can break the generational cycle of these patterns. It was her own 25 year struggle with chronic illness that ultimately changed things for her, in the best of ways. The proverbial silver lining of her 'hell-th' journey was discovering the work of Mark Wolynn, one of the leading experts in the field of inherited family trauma. Attending his two-day workshop connected many of the dots that would later become pivotal stepping-stones for her, both personally and professionally. Since that weekend over 10 years ago, she became the organizer of his training programs and has trained in every facet of his work. Kari is also a Martha Beck life coach and a self-professed neuroscience geek obsessed with learning about the brain. Kari has studied with neuroplasticity experts Rick Hanson, Annie Hopper and Lisa Wimberger. She is also a Young Living essential oil specialist who teaches about the benefits of essential oils on the brain.Kari' WebsiteFull Episode Notes & Links on Dialed In Podcast
This week’s amazing guest is Lisa Wimberger. Lisa is the founder of Neurosculpting and co-founder of NeuroPraxis….and her story behind her work is incredibly profound. On her 15th birthday, Lisa underwent a rare trauma experience of being struck by lightning directly on the base of her spine. With it being such a rarity, this trauma escaped the acknowledgment of reality for years...aside from ongoing seizures that occurred ever since. With each recurring episode worsening and intensifying over time, Lisa didn’t come to a full understanding of what was truly going on until her 30s, when she had a heartstopping moment (literally!) at a routine doctor’s exam. It was then that she launched herself into discovering the ways in which her body worked, the organs it comprised, and the responses it controlled so she could rewrite her script and conquer her condition. In this insightful and high-powered episode, Lisa and I get into…. What neuroplasticity is and why it’s so important for our path to self-optimization The variations of stress and how to use them to enhance productivity The power found in meditation and hypnotherapy (combining to bring you Neurosculpting) What fuels the juiciness of passion and how desperation can be a wild motivator to healing The 5 step program Lisa uses to rework the brain’s stress response (fight, flight, freeze) How Lisa wrote her own script, rehearsed it, and won her fight against seizures once and for all Finding affirmations that resonate and prove physiological, mental, and emotional results There are so many rad and powerful takeaways in this episode. And it’s so fascinating, as Lisa and I talk about, that we were given these bodies without any “instructor’s manuals.” It’s up to us to learn about them, tune into our collective experiences, and empower our mindset. It’s essentially our responsibility to own our health and create the remedies that will revitalize our well-being. There are many valuable sparks of inspiration + insights in this talk that are supportive of your health, wellbeing + empowering your MINDSET. ENJOY xRx PS. #QUEENDOM⚡️ is officially open❣️To all my badass girls here who are ready to take their #SELFLOVE, #SELFCONFIDENCE + SELFTRUST to #BLACKBELT status; let’s DO THIS. In this episode of Bulletproof Radio, my guest Lisa Wimberger was struck by lightning at age 15 and lived. That lightning strike set in motion a grand mal seizure disorder that she lived with for the next two decades and ultimately influenced her life’s work with neuroplasticity. The seizures became life threatening, but that condition inspired her to find ways to protect and rebuild her body and mind. She went on to explore neuroplasticity, a process that helped her to disrupt her seizures.“There's a seizure halo from stress and maladaptive vagal tone and then there's a seizure. Well, there's a gap in space and time between those two things and it might be a fraction a second, but that is a response pattern that I've gotten really good at. Neuroplasticity says I can change those things. It doesn't tell me how exactly, but I'm going to figure it out. I had all of this meditation that I was not using for my well-being, and then all of the science, and I just backwards engineered.”The most profound insight she learned was that the way she was meditating was actually harmful to her. “When you hear the word meditation, it's not one size fits all,” Lisa says. “There's all different kinds and you have to know what works for your body.” Lisa founded the NeuroSculpting® Institute in Colorado, where she teaches people and organizations who suffer from stress disorders, including law enforcement teams. She created NeuroSculpting®, a 5-step meditation process that can help an individual release the grip of old patterns and entrain their brain to creating new and more supportive patterns, habits and behaviors. “The benefits are you still get to hack into your nervous system, and you get to file down the sharp edges of any thought that might have triggered you into arousal at any point in time, or you can create brand new thoughts,” she says. “Neuroplasticity doesn't care if it's an experience you've never had or an experience you've had. It only cares that you're programming it with buy-in, and it's going to store that in your mind as a pattern.”Lisa earned a master’s degree in Education, a Foundations Certification in NeuroLeadership, and certificates in medical neuroscience, visual perception, and the brain, and neurobiology. She’s written numerous books on neuroplasticity and stress management, including Neurosculpting: A Whole-Brain Approach to Heal Trauma, Rewrite Limiting Beliefs, and Find Wholeness and New Beliefs, New Brain: Free Yourself from Stress and Fear. She’s also co-creator of a digital app made up of interactive NeuroSculpting® modules that shift brain neuroplasticity and support well-being, called NeuroPraxis. This unique app helps people re-pattern trauma and nervous system suffering through guided meditation.Listen today as we talk about Lisa’s discoveries in brain entrainment, stress management and meditation practices that do no harm.Enjoy! Today we are sharing the second part of our conversation with our guest Lisa Wimberger. Lisa is the creator of Neurosculpting, which is a self-directed neuroplasticity protocol. Specifically, it is a mental training process that quiets our fight-or-flight center and activates our prefrontal cortex, which is the mind’s seat of our compassion and empathy. We had so much to discuss that we made this interview a two-parter. In this episode we are talking about: How energy relates to your nervous system. The importance of focusing on your body in your spiritual practice. How our past narratives filter our present moment experiences. The trouble technology creates for your vagus nerve. How your “spirits design” can influence your choices. We have a special guest today: Lisa Wimberger. Lisa is the creator of Neurosculpting, which is a self-directed neuroplasticity protocol. Specifically, it is a mental training process that quiets our fight-or-flight center and activates our prefrontal cortex, which is the mind’s seat of our compassion and empathy. Needless to say, we had a lot to talk about. In fact, We so many shared passions and inquiries in common with Lisa that we are airing this conversation as a 2-parter. Stay tuned next week. If you want more information on Neurosculpting you can visit neurosculptinginstitute.com In this episode we are talking about: How meditation and spiritual paths can be used to dissociate further into a freeze pattern of the nervous system. Lisa’s extreme experience of a nervous system caught in freeze, and how recovering from this adaptation is different than someone recovering from flight or fight patterns. Why going from freeze to “bliss” is too big a step. How to consciously choose when we need to be in our limbic nervous systems versus when we can move to a different state. How the stories we tell about our lives (internally to ourselves) are built on the foundation of what information our nervous system’s received when we were very young. The psychological edge gained by top persuaders cannot be overemphasized. How do great persuaders prepare their minds for success? This mental aspect is one of the most important (and usually most neglected) traits of success. Almost everyone wants to accomplish their dreams, achieve more, become a better person, or pursue bigger and better goals. Why do we fall short of our dreams and aspirations? Let’s find the answer on this week’s podcast. This week’s guest is Lisa Wimberger. She is the founder of the Neurosculpting Institute. Her mission is to teach others how to reprogram the brain, change their beliefs and to share powerful stress management techniques or what she calls Neurosculpting. Listen to this week’s podcast and discover the power of Neurosculpting and self-persuasion. Building new habits is typically not as simple as doing something different each day - sometimes we need to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves, and that's where neurosculpting comes in, but what is neurosculpting? how can we use it to our advantage? and what can we start doing today to begin removing the barriers in our minds that stop us from developing the habits for the success? What to Listen ForLisa tells the story of how her experience with seizures led her to dive headfirst into neurosculptingWhat is neurosculpting and how can you use Lisa's methods to develop healthy habits and rewrite the stories in your life that are holding you back from success and happiness? How can one simple act dissipate the stress & tension throughout your body and allow you to roll with the punches of life? What does it mean to “orient to safety” and how can you use it to help prevent failure in building a new habit? How can you train yourself so fear no longer stands in your way? What are the 5 steps to rewriting the stories that are stopping you from building new habits?Lisa explains the best way to develop a morning routine by approaching the bedtime routine firstHow can you take advantage of neuroplasticity to amplify the reinforcement of new habits? What can you do if building a new habit is encroaching on your partner's routine and/or expectations?Neurosculpting is a 5-step meditation process developed to take advantage of neuroplasticity, defined as the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections to compensate for injury and disease and to adjust activities in response to new situations or to changes in an environment. When it comes to building new habits, you can use neurosculpting to reinforce the building of new patterns in your brain. Using neurosculpting in place of a brute force approach allows you to rewire your brain much faster and more efficiently, giving you more control over your life, happiness, and success.A Word From Our SponsorsShare your vulnerabilities, victories, and questions in our 17,000-member private Facebook group at theartofcharm.com/challenge. In Episode 0051, I opened up and shared my story of dealing with postpartum depression and PTSD. The CDC indicates that 1 in 10 women experience postpartum depression, but they indicate that the numbers could be as high as 1 in 5. Although this condition affects a large number of women, in my opinion, we aren't doing enough to put resources in the hands of the mothers who need them. I felt compelled to do my part. This week, I am thrilled to share with you the interview I recently did with Lisa Wimberger, founder of The Neurosculpting Institute, and author of the book Neurosculpting. Neurosculpting is a very specific meditiation-like practice that Lisa developed to help people heal mental illness, manage stress, and recover from countless other conditions that afflict the mind. I credit Lisa's work for breaking the hold that PTSD and PPD had on me. During her interview, Lisa and I discuss: How she developed the practice of neurosculpting and the incredible impact it had on her own health conditions. How the technique works to intentionally activate specific parts of the brain in a specific order. The role of creating psychological triggers to help induce desired mental states. How you can get started on your own neurosculpting practice. To say I am thrilled about this week's episode is an understatement. Please listen to this episode and share it with others who might benefit from this powerful practice. You are not alone. There is hope. I'm here cheering for you. This episode is a very special, very personal episode of the Women Inspired podcast. In this episode, I share with you my firsthand experience with postpartum depression and PTSD. I wanted to share this story for a few reasons: I want to give more attention to a condition that impacts so very many women after they give birth. In a time that should be one of the happiest of our lives, so many of us struggle with postpartum mental health issues, and it needs to be something we get out in the open. If you've experienced it, I want you to know that you are NOT ALONE, and you are not weak or damaged somehow because you're going through this. I also want you to know that there are resources to help you, and it is WORTH IT to reach out and get help. I'm releasing this episode in advance of another very special episode, an interview with Lisa Wimberger, the author of the book "Neurosculpting." I credit this book as the turning point and the tool that helped me finally move through postpartum depression and PTSD. I hope you'll tune in this week, and I hope that by sharing my story, I can help inspire other women to get the help they need to find their way back. You can do it. It's worth it. YOU are worth it. Welcome to the Emerging Women podcast, where we hear from brilliant women leaders creating big change in the world. I’m Chantal Pierrat, your host, and my guest is Lisa Wimberger, founder of the Neurosculpting Institute. Lisa researched neuroscience and created the practice of neurosculpting to heal herself from a trauma you have to hear to believe (it starts with being struck by lightning and gets weirder from there). Since then she’s brought the practices and process of self-directed neuroplasticity to help everyone from street police to working professionals down-regulate negative patterns of chronic or traumatic stress. Today we talk about: why the brain makes patterns and scripts how neurosculpting can help you renegotiate patterns that no longer serve you fear and free will how to make memory an expansive fuel instead of a limiting cage two simple practices to get your brain and body communicating as they work together to repattern your stress response Lisa will be hosting the workshop “Neurosculpting for Leadership in the Zone” at Emerging Women Live 2017 in Denver, CO. I hope you can join us!

Aired Wednesday, 29 June 2016, 8:00 PM ETMost listeners to Destination Unlimited practice some form of meditation and probably have for many years if not decades. You may practice TM, or Zazen or some basic yogic meditation. Is your practice satisfying? Does it promote the healing and state of well-being and spiritual connection that you are seeking? My guest this week, Lisa Wimberger, has innovated modern meditation utilizing the latest research in neuro-science as an answer to bring deep healing to victims of trauma. Based on 30 years of experience in various forms of meditation, she developed NeurosculptingⓇ as a way to heal herself from seizures where conventional medicine had failed.Lisa began teaching NeurosculptingⓇ in 2007 to law enforcement, military veterans, and other first responders as a practical way to manage emotional healing from trauma and PTSD. The Neurosculpting InstituteⓇ has partnered with psychologists, nutritionists, and yoga instructors to create a whole-brain approach to health and wellness that is non-dogmatic.Neurosculpting has successfully helped people in trauma-centric vocations, traumatic brain injury patients, athletes, refugees, and people of all walks of life to manage and heal from daily stress and negative emotions.Lisa may be contacted at: Neurosculptinginstitute.com
Raghu introduces Lisa Wimberger, who got hit by lightening, blacked out and lost her pulse at 15 years old! Her traumatic event let Lisa to a new path, developing Neurosculpting - a fusion of brain science and mindfulness. As she says, even the most insidious mental beliefs can be re-written- and boy could we all use a little brain re-wiring! Lisa and Raghu talk about the flight-fright-freeze survival response and how it takes over our lives and how to protect ourselves from “contagious” emotions. Also Raghu delights in an article Lisa wrote on the New Age Scourge - she says, “ First stop saying Namaste and bless you when what you really mean is screw you.” This leads us to a conversation about clearing out toxic beliefs and behavior patterns. This podcast will change our tune with its mind-altering insights!
At the age of 15, Lisa Wimberger suffered a trauma that changed her life. After years of blackouts and seizures, Lisa combined meditation and neuroscience to create neurosculpting, a whole-brain approach to trauma. Lisa is also the founder of the Neurosculpting Institute in Denver and has written two books on the subject.
Lisa Wimberger experienced the power of neuroplasticity firsthand. When conventional medicine offered no answers for her deadly seizures, she created her own regimen of meditation and life practices to heal herself. Lisa has successfully taught her Neurosculpting method to veterans, first responders, and clients in the most stressful occupations. With Neurosculpting, she brings readers a complete guide to this life-changing process.

Dr. Veronica has an amazing conversation with Lisa Wimberger, who was hit by lightning at age 15. This led to a number of "near-death" experiences through her life. Lisa has used her traumatic experiences as a vehicle for transformation. She's used these experiences, past psychic experiences, a life-long practice of meditation to evolve what she calls neuroscience. She has now founded The Neurosculpting Institute., and is the author of NEW BELIEFS, NEW BRAIN: Free Yourself From Stress And Fear. Russell Cook co-hosts.
