You can't do everything. So you essentially have to make some ‘bets,' for lack of a better word. What is going to have the biggest impact with your audience?Focus your energy and budget there, to make the biggest splash you can.OK, that's a boring way to say it. So I like how my next guest worded it in his podcast guest application – ‘If you're gonna be a bear, be a Grizzly.'To hear the story behind that lesson, along with many more lesson-filled stories from throughout his career, I sat down with Clinton Bonner, Vice President of Marketing, Launch by NTT Data (https://launch.nttdata.com/).Launch by NTT Data is owned by NTT, a publicly traded company. It most recently reported annual revenue of over 13 trillion Yen, roughly equal to $85 billion at current exchange rates.Bonner manages a team of 10 and a $5 million to $10 million marketing budget. Stories (with lessons) about what he made in marketing:Empower your team with top designersThink, build, and scale like a product ownerIf you're gonna be a bear, be a Grizzly Trust great creative peopleDon't be afraid to let the deep work be the starDiscussed in this episodeGet a Scenario Analysis with this command in MeclabsAI.com (it's free to get started): /SNA analyze [specific scenario] for conversion rate impacts and suggest strategiesMeclabsAI is the parent organization of MarketingSherpaMarketing 101: What is a Design Brief? Hello, since Christmas and New Years is coming up, This will be my last episode of the year. But I will start back up again in early January, so until then, enjoy this very cool song that is actually a tribute to a 60's musician who passed away recently. I covered one of his songs and it actually crosses over with a group I did already in the podcast, but at the same time, I also talk about the history behind the group who recorded this song, and I will also talk about the SUPER big artist who got her start being in this group. Here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9qsDgA1q8YYou can also follow me & reach out to me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/Please do also check out more of my original music right here:https://www.samwilliamsmusic.netWould also love it if you could please check out the EP that I put out this year. the next one is on the way, I'm recording the demos for it right now, but I will be recording it for real pretty soon. until then, please check these songs out, and if you liked what you heard, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com, or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/samlwilliams/turquoise-apricotAlso, do check out the two interviews I did this year I did with Honk Magazine and ShoutoutLA. if reading these interviews gives you inspiration to want to meet me in person if your in LA and you haven't yet and you listen to this podcast and your a fan of it, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com, or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://honkmagazine.com/sam-l-williams-talks-about-his-career-path-influence-and-new-music/https://shoutoutla.com/meet-sam-l-williams-musician-songwriter-podcast-host/Please do also check the Official Spotify and Youtube playlists for this podcast. here you'll be able to find all of the songs that I have talked about on my podcast so far including some of the ones that I have mentioned in interview episodes of this podcast. if you liked the songs on this playlist and you would like to give me some ideas for songs I should talk about next on my podcast that I haven't yet, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMjhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7NfPlease do also check out the official music video that I put out this year, for a song that I put out this year as well, if you liked this video and would like to give me some feedback on it before I release it, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com, or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTbmSoW6RyYWould also love it if you could check out the official Redbubble Merch store for this podcast. hey! so I know it's been a while since I uploaded an episode for this podcast, but I wanted to let you guys know I haven't forgotten about you. I experienced some technology problems again recently, as I was without a computer for an entire week, plus I was undecided as to which song I wanted to cover on my podcast next and I was still waiting on potential interview prospects to be scheduled. so I had to take some time off from doing this podcast but I am back and will be uploading episodes on a regular basis now. this week I decided to cover an area of my podcast that I haven't covered in a long time, and that is instrumental songs. so this week is gonna cover an instrumental kind of song that is more reminiscent of instrumental music of the late 50's early 60's, but it's still a good sounding instrumental from that time, and in this episode, I again explain to you exactly what instrumental music is and why you don't hear too much of it in today's world. and I also talk about the origins of this song and why it's so specific to the time period this song was written in. here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z49t7c5cRmkYou can also follow me and reach out to me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You can also check out more of my original music right here:https://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do also check out the EP that I put out earlier this year over Memorial Day Weekend. would love it if you could listen to it and let me know whatcha think of it, you can do that by emailing me at samltwilli@icloud.com, or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/samlwilliams/turquoise-apricotwould also love it if you could read the two interview articles I did this year for Honk Magazine and ShoutoutLA. you can find out a lot about me from these interviews and if you want, if reading these articles inspires you want to meet me in person, please email me so we can arrange that at samltwilli@icloud.com, you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://honkmagazine.com/sam-l-williams-talks-about-his-career-path-influence-and-new-music/https://shoutoutla.com/meet-sam-l-williams-musician-songwriter-podcast-host/also don't forget to check out the Official Spotify and Youtube playlists for this podcast. here you'll be able to find all of the songs that I have talked about so far on my podcast including some of the ones that I have mentioned in interview episodes of this podcast. this should give you a good idea for the kind of music I talk about on my podcast and if you would like to give me some suggestions for songs I should talk about next on my podcast that I haven't yet after listening to these playlists, please feel free to reach out to me at samltwilli@icloud.com, or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMjhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7NfPlease do check out the official Music video for one of my favorite songs off of the EP that I put out over Memorial Day Weekend. would love it if you could let me know whatcha think of it at samltwilli@icloud.com, you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTbmSoW6RyYDon't forget to also check out the Official Redbubble March store for this podcast, where you'll able to find these super cool merchandise items all with my own custom logo for this podcast. if you liked the logo please do let me know whatcha think of it at samltwilli@icloud.com, I would also appreciate any feedback you might have on the prices of each item in the store as well: https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you liked my analysis on this week's song and you found out some cool and interesting things about last week's song & artist and you never knew anything about them before or you don't know too much about this genre of music and you found out a lot of interesting things about it and your a millennial, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com, you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies.

This week's question comes from Joey on the Real Estate Rookie Facebook Group. Joey is asking: Was driving in a new part of town and came across a house that had a yard that hasn't been maintained in months and the house looks unkept. Any suggestions on how I should go about finding the owner and asking if they would be interested in selling? We had a ton of great responses in the Facebook group, but Ashley and Tony will do their best to answer based on their own experience and their preferred style of skip tracing. You can do this both for free or for a fee, it all depends on which information you need! Here are some suggestions:Look up your city's GIS mapping website and find the owners on the title You can also use Propstream to skip trace the owners for a small feeReach out to neighbors and ask them if they know anything about the ownerIf the owner is an LLC, go to your Secretary of State's website to look up the LLC owner And more in the episode…If you want Ashley and Tony to answer a real estate question, you can post in the Real Estate Rookie Facebook Group! This week's episode is on one of my all time FAVORITE 60's sort of deep tracks, this song did not get very high up charts nor did it stay on the charts for very long, but it's probably one of the best tracks from the 60's where you can clearly see how much a huge 60's band influenced another group that was having a few hits at that time. and as per usual, I dive into what makes this song so great both musically and lyrically, a change up from last week because last week I did my first song from the 60's I don't like, so now I'm reeling it back in and doing another song from the 60's that I love, and here's the link to it just in case you wanted to listen to it. next week I'll go over the history behind this group and whether or not they were a real group or not:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvJbdr63owgHere's where you can find me on Instagram, please follow me and get in touch with me here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/please do also check out my latest interview I did with this really cool publication. This will definitely help you get to know me better if you wish to do so: https://honkmagazine.com/sam-l-williams-talks-about-his-career-path-influence-and-new-music/Please do also check out my singles that are out currently. they are all self produced where I played most of the instruments on them and they all sound different stylistically but they all tie in with the 60's (specifically the mid and late 60's). here are the links to them, they can be found wherever you stream your music. if you listened to these singles, please let me know what you thought of them by emailing me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies. Hey Guys! So I know it's been a while since I have last uploaded an episode of my podcast, and it's because I unintentionally took a break from doing this podcast, primarily because I was torn as to what I should do about my hosting service situation. you see, I was going to move my podcast entirely to Anchor, but then I realized that I would loose all of my information in regards to my analytics for my podcast, so all of the listeners I have built up since starting this podcast originally would be lost and I would have to start from zero all over again. So with that being said, I decided to stay with the one I was with, and I was able to upgrade to one of their paid plans so I won't get kicked out of their system and risk my account getting terminated. So as of this week, I am back on my podcast and will continue to put out episodes without any real disruptions from this moment on. I apologize if you guys were expecting another episode from me the week after the last one I put out and you guys didn't hear from me, well, that's pretty much why. But anyways, I'm back! and this week, I'm doing something kind of special/unique with my podcast that I haven't done before. I'm covering an song from the 60's that I don't really like at all, and in this episode, I talk about why I'm not such a huge fan of it and why you may agree with me or disagree with me on my take of this song. I'm doing this to primarily show you guys that there was both good and bad music that was huge in the 60's, as with every decade of music really. Now you may totally disagree with me and you might actually like this song, and that's ok, but definitely let me know if you feel the same way I do about this song or not, and just in case you don't know what song I"m talking about, here's the link to it just in case you wanted to listen to it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHzjfGF6MiUYou can also follow me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/Also, MAJOR update for you guys since I have been gone for 3 weeks now, I have a new single out! Yes. You can Now stream Keep Her In My Back Pocket on all of the music streaming platforms. Would love it if you guys could listen to this one! it's not really like my other two singles, it's different both stylistically and lyrically too, but it still has a good mix of the retro 60's sound with a little bit of today's flavor. I produced this one and played all of the instruments on it, and if you like it, please let me know by emailing me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies, and here's the link to where you can stream it:https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/samlwilliams/keep-her-in-my-back-pocketAlso, Don't forget to also check out the last two singles I put out too. the entire EP will come out in May. If you missed last week's episode for some weird reason. today to hopefully bring you guys back to those who aren't actively listening to my podcast at this moment in time when your lives might be getting busier because people are back to work with cases going down,I bring to you a VERY Special Episode of my podcast. I sometimes do interview episodes of my show where I talk to an original member of either a 60's band or someone who was a studio musician, songwriter, engineer, someone who was there and someone who may not be a well known household name, but someone who was arguably one of the most important movers and shakers in the record business back in the 60's, and I have them on so they can tell the stories behind their hit songs and they can unveil to you some little known facts about their music to you and they can share their story which will live on the internet forever with this podcast long after they die. and last weekend, I had THE EXTREME HONOR to talk to an original member of arguably one of THEE GREATEST 60's bands that ever graced AM radio at that time, and one that was absolutely JUST AS GOOD, if not better then The Beatles. I was LITERALLY on cloud nine getting to talk to him, and he had such a great time talking to me and he was gracious enough to share with me the story behind his band, and BOY DID I LEARN SO MUCH about his band from listening to him talk. And if your a Millennial tuning into this and don't know anything about the band this guy was in, they were called the Lovin Spoonful and they were FANTASTIC as a group and they burst on to the Pop Music Scene when it felt like Popular Music was reaching it's zenith with Folk Rock becoming huge and Motown on top of their game and the NY producers & engineers trying to copy that sound, and of course , the British Invasion was in full swing at that time as well, and they had SUCH A GREAT SOUND that was the perfect blend of Folk, Blues & Pop Rock. You might know some of their songs such as "Do You Believe In Magic" or "Summer In The City", well if you do, your in for a real treat because I'm gonna talk to an original member of the band that did all of those songs and he also played keys & bass on all of them and co wrote some of their hits as well such as "You Didn't Have To Be So Nice" and "Summer In The City" without further or do I present to you the 11th interview episode of my podcast, the one and only Mr Steve Boone. if you are lost in this episode and don't know any of the songs we are talking about, I will put in them into the two playlists I have for this podcast and here are the links to them so you can listen to these songs and go back and listen to this interview so you can fully comprehend what we are talking about in this interview episode of this podcast:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnbfuAcCqpYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIM579H-f7Yhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfqwx7pMsqshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt5Jy983uTEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRTkqGSKTtshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txTEhgReZUAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7ofnHmxE-Ihttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqi7Fv6VFjwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq4J9KyJb4shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZqgFyj5uTohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9gKcb2DSb8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVz5Uc8dyfchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAur4CWJIPwYou can also follow me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You can also check out more of my original music right here:https://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do also check out my two song single out now, it's under my new stage name Sam L Williams and the songs are called Turquoise Apricot and She Said No. Here's the link to where you can stream the two songs on some of the streaming platforms it's on currently. please let me know what do you think of these songs after you have listened to them. you can email me what do you think of them at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also follow me on Instagram @iheartoldies:https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/samlwilliams/turquoise-apricot--she-said-noPlease do also check out the official Spotify and Youtube Playlists for this podcast, there you'll be able to find all of the songs I have talked about in previous podcast episodes of this show including some of the ones I have talked about in interview episodes of my podcast including this one. if you liked these songs after listening to these playlists and if it gives you some ideas for the kind of songs I should talk about next on my podcast that I haven't yet, please email those ideas to me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMj?si=Ej6X4EZCRGGRsasYDswUZghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7NfPlease do also check out the official Redbubble Merch store for this podcast. there you'll be able to find my own custom merch for this podcast with my own logo that is specific to my podcast with the catchphrase I say at the end of every episode of my podcast with the name of my podcast on the bottom all in really cool "Keep On Trucking" Tie Dye Font. if you liked this logo and would like to purchase something from this store or if you have some basic feedback for this logo and the prices of each item for this store, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you REALLY enjoyed this interview episode of this podcast and your a millennial and you didn't know ANYTHING about this band and you found out some REALLY cool and interesting pieces of info about this band that you didn't already know and your around my age, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies.

hey guys, sorry if this episode is coming at ya a little bit late, was trying to figure out how to follow up the episode I did a few weeks ago on both She & Him & Phil Spector, and the original plan was the do both a history lesson on both of those musical people and combine them into one episode, but then I realized that that might be a little too much for this podcast, and I didn't want to try to cram everything into one episode and have to cut down what i want to talk about in regards to Phil Spector with you guys, and also I don't want to loose you if the episode is just too long for you to consume, so the initial plan now is that I"m going to do a three part episode. This part is essentially about the history behind She & Him and forgive me if there are some holes within their history and if I'm looking stuff up about them, I don't know that much about them other then what's readily available online in regards to their history, I mean in a perfect world, I would interview Zooey and ask her a bunch of questions about her musical history with her duet Partner Matt, but she is unfortunately too much of a high level celebrity for me to get too so It doesn't look like it's possible for me to get too that easily. And Plus, she's mainly known as an actress, so she hasn't been interviewed or talked too much about her musical side to herself, so I'm only pretty much going off of what I have read in regards to the interviews that were conducted by her musical partner Matthew Ward, but I hope this episode enlightens you with a different side to Zooey that you might not know about, and next week will be a deep dive into the history of Phil Spector & the Crystals and that whole thing. here's the link to last week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdJbqGeYM6Ehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf_fxswodiQYou can also follow me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You can also check out more of my original music right here:https://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do also listen to my two song single as well, I worked very hard on these two songs and you will see a different side to myself which includes me as a musician as well as a songwriter. please go check them out, here's the link to where you can listen on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, and Deezer: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/details/?id=7552EC53-8721-4513-B9FAF0ACB4925946Please do also check out the Official Spotify and Youtube playlists for this Podcast. there you'll be able to find all of the songs I have talked about on my podcast including some of the ones I have mentioned in interview episodes, if you found some really cool songs on this playlists and have some suggestions for some songs I should talk about next on my podcast that I haven't yet, please send those to me a samltwilli@icloud.com or you can reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMj?si=MA7S-RLWTmKejILv7MA3oghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7NfPlease do also check out the Official Redbubble Merch store for this podcast and there you'll be able to find all of these really cool Merch items that have my own personal logo attached for this podcast, and if you like the logo and would like to purchase something from this store, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or reach out to me On Instagram @iheartoldies: https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you found out some really cool and interesting facts about She & Him & Zooey Deschanel and you never knew this side to Zooey and only know her actress side to herself and your a millennial and your around my age, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies.

In fact, I"m gonna be dedicating the next four weeks to this genre of music but I think it's time I do some Girl 60's songs since I honestly haven't done any, up until now. So this song covers that very specific genre of music since it's a classic example of that, and next week I'll go more into the history behind the genre and some of the people and places that created it and made it what it was. here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSZsbspWwLoYou can also follow me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/here's the official Spotify Pre save link for my upcoming two song single that will be coming out this Friday. please do that and I will add this to my previous last two episodes so you can click on this link in the last two or three episodes I have done on my podcast. https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/samlwilliams/turquoise-apricot--she-said-noalso in the meantime, you can check out more of my original music right here:https://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do also check out the official Spotify and Youtube playlists for this podcast. there you'll be able to find all of the songs I have talked about on my podcast so far including some of the ones that I have mentioned in interview episodes of my podcast. if you liked any of the songs that are on these playlists and have some suggestions for any 60's songs I should talk about next on my podcast that I haven't yet, please email this ideas to me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMj?si=aSmlEQybQeyxo296611t5Qhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7NfPlease do also check out the official Redbubble Merch store for this podcast, there you will be able to find these super cool merch items with a logo that I personally came up with the design for for this podcast, if you liked the logo and thought it was cool and would like to buy something from it , please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies, with a few words on how much you like this podcast, how old are you, plus what's your favorite song and artist that I have done so far:https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you liked my analysis on this week's song and artist and you have never heard of them before or this specific genre of music or if your a girl and can relate to a song like this and your a girl around my age (aka a Millennial) please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies.

this week's episode is All about the history behind Ray Charles. I wanted to give you guys the full length representation of his life and his career since his story was so compelling and interesting, I thought it would be cool for me to instead of start from the early days from his career to instead start right from the very beginning of his life. This week's episode is going to be all about a Classic Blue Eyed Soul record from the 60's and one that was used in the recent Quinton Tarantino Movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and one that is pretty iconic! this song has a really cool and coy vibe about it and it's very sexy but not super complicated as far as it's chord progression is concerned but it's VERY sexually suggestive. I would NOT listen to this podcast if your someone that is under the age of 18 or if your a kid or a young teenager. next week's episode will be all about the history behind this song and artist and the city this song was recorded in plus the interesting thing about the time this song was out and on Top 40 radio. here's the link to last week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixQFjy6crAUYou Can also Follow Me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/PLEASE do also check out my NEW and IMPROVED website which has ALL of the episodes of my podcast you can stream on there PLUS a bunch of OTHER really cool stuff! would love it if you could check it out and lmk whatcha think of my new website! you can email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies:https://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do ALSO check out the official Spotify and Youtube Playlists for my podcast. there you'll be able to find ALL Of the songs I talk about on my podcast INCLUDING some ons I have mentioned in interview episodes I have done in the past. I'm sorry if this week's episode is coming atcha a little bit late, the quarantine has lately made me feel very distracted and it's been harder for me to get stuff done (I recently got back into watching Classic TV shows from the 60's, and I also have been playing video games again, all of this is due to the lack of social in human interaction I've been experiencing lately, but I know I'm not the only one who's been like that lately). but my schedule has definitely been all over the place lately, but don't worry, I will continue to put out these podcast episodes whenever I can and I promise I won't leave you hanging. this week is all about Motown and in this podcast I offer some very insightful facts about the label and their history and I also talk about the history behind last week's song and artist. this week's episode is also incredibly long, and again, I"m sorry if this episode was too long for you, but the history behind Motown and exactly how in depth they were is quit astonishing and I tried to cover as many aspects of it as I could. here's the link to last week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZFvlum63TkYou can also follow me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/Please do also check out the official Spotify and Youtube playlists for this podcast, there you'll be able to find all of the songs I have talked about on my podcast so far including some of the ones I have mentioned in interview episodes, and if this gives you any ideas for what kind of songs I should talk about next on my podcast that I haven't yet, you can email those ideas to me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also email those ideas to me at samltwilli@icloud.com: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMj?si=gEkSOm2-Ti-Wy-dSE7APbghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7NfPlease do also check out the official Redbubble Merch store for this podcast, there you'll be able to find this super cool logo that I personally didn't design but I came up with the idea for the design for myself, and if you like it, I would love it if you could purchase something from the store! if you do decide to do that, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies, and if you don't want to purchase something, I would love it if you could please let me know what you think of the logo itself plus the prices of each item in the store and you can reach out to me on the same IG handle and or email address: https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you found out some really cool and interesting facts about this week's podcast episode and you never knew anything about Motown or the group that recorded the song or the guy who wrote and produced the song, you can email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies.

I decided to keep the the Black Lives Matter theme going for my podcast this week, and throughout he 2 years I've been doing this show, I have covered many facets of Black R&B Music in the 60's, from cities such as Chicago and Philadelphia and Memphis, but slightly on purpose, I have avoided talking about or doing an episode on Motown, until now. And the main reason why I have avoided talking about the label on my podcast is because the history of Motown is pretty much already covered in current Rock and Roll Music history podcasts I'm in direct competition in, but at the same time, I have realized it would be difficult to honor the black songwriters and producers of the 60's without making a single mention of them. But, I feel like there are many great songs that came out of this label that hardly anybody in my age group knows about, so today's episode is on a Motown song but one you wouldn't really expect (it's a song you probably don't know but you'll DEFINITELY know who wrote the song and produced it). So next week I'll go pretty in depth with their history but also offering some little known tidbits about them most people probably don't know. here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT_1mBc_GjwYou Can also follow me On Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/Please do also check out the official Spotify and Youtube playlists for this podcast, there you'll be able to find all of the songs I talk about on my podcast (including some of the ones I mention in interview episodes of my show) if checking out these playlists gives you any ideas for what kind of songs I should talk about on my podcast next, you can email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMj?si=-rGKsTtcRFeb8GAnsl2CKwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7NfPlease do check out the official Redbubble Merch Store for this podcast. there you'll be able to find this super cool logo that's attached to a bunch of different merch items. you can check those out and I would appreciate it if you could please purchase something from the store and if you do, please let me know at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies and let me know which item you got and what about the show do you like and also, if you can't buy anything for whatever reason, please let me know what you think of the logo itself and the prices of each item in the store at the same email address or on my Instagram:https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you liked my analysis on this week's song and you've never heard it before and are anxious to hear more about the artist and the song, and the guy that wrote it and produced it, you can email me at samltwilli@icloud.com

This week's podcast episode is on a very specific genre of music from the 60's that you might be surprised that it had it's origins in the 60's, as this genre didn't come into full fruition until the 70's and 80's but this song definitely pre dated the genre quite a bit and I'm sure you will find this episode super interesting. You might not have heard this song before but I guarantee you are probably familiar with one of his other bigger hits that came out in the early 70's. I'll talk more about his very interesting history in the next episode of this podcast. for now, enjoy this really cool first part of this two part episode of this podcast. here's the link to last week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it!:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x79a2qB5L-QYou Can Also Follow Me On Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You Can Also Check out More Of My Original Music Right here:http://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do also check out the official Youtube and Spotify Playlists for my podcast, there you'll be able to find all of the songs that I have talked about on my show so far plus some songs that I have talked about on the interview episodes that I have done so far. this should give you a good idea for the kind of songs I talk about on my podcast, and if that inspires you to send me any ideas for what kind of songs I should talk about next on my podcast that I haven't yet, please send those to me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7Nfhttps://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMj?si=ey5Udkf9TOywgBepVBuWCAPlease do also check out the official Redbubble Merch Store For This Podcast, there you'll be able to find this super cool logo that I personally came up with that I had somebody else design, and please do check it out and hopefully purchase something on there, if not, I would love it if you could please give me some feedback on the logo including what do you think of it plus the prices of the items in the store: https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you liked my analysis on this week's song and you found it cool and interesting and you've never heard this song before and now your curious as to what is the history behind this song and artist, you can email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on instagram @iheartoldies

this week's episode to switch things up from doing the super obscure one hit wonders, I'm going to do something different that I haven't done before for the first episode of my podcast in 2020. I'm going to do a song that was by a huge iconic 60's band (that wasn't the Beatles) that never made the Top 40 Nationally. this song originally bubbled under the Hot 100 on Billboard which basically makes it a non hit song but in this episode I'm going to talk to you about why I think this song should have been a much bigger hit and just how amazing this song is despite the fact that it was never a Top 40 hit nationally. Next week I'll get in depth the history behind this band and how they were formed and what not. here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=to-RVV_3anwYou Can Also Follow Me On Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You Can Also Check Out More Of My Original Music Right Here:http://www.samwilliamsmusic.netWould love it if you could also check out the official Spotify and Youtube Playlists for this podcast. there you'll be able to find all of the songs I have covered on this podcast including songs that I have mentioned in some of the interviews that I have done on this show. For this week's episode of the podcast, since it is episode number 80, I'm going to do a very special interview episode of this podcast. I'm gonna be talking to somebody who has written a handful of hit songs back int he 60's, but the amount of hit songs he has written equals to the amount of history that he has within a very historically important and special time frame in music, when he was writing and recording demos, he was involved in this magical and exciting musical atmosphere where such famous songwriters such as Carole King and Burt Bacharach and Neil Diamond worked out of, and that was known as the Brill Building. If you are already not familiar with the Brill Building, and you don't really know anything about it. Brace Yourself because you are about to receive the education of a lifetime about it with this specific interview episode of this podcast. but just in case you don't know what we are talking about when we mention certain songs that he has written in the past, here are the links to those songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7zUjBOp-1Ehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09qLEYB8e0Ahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90RctK8E3L4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yqAaejuRn8You Can Also Follow me and reach out to me On Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You Can Also Check Out More of my original music right here:http://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do also check out the official Spotify and Youtube Playlists for this podcast. Today's episode of my podcast is a interview Episode with somebody a little different then what I normally do for my podcast. the guy I'm interviewing today isn't necessarily a songwriter or producer from that era per say but he has worked with legendary songwriters and producers from the 60's and was in a duo with somebody that made music that even though it was recorded in the late 70's very much had that early to mid 60's sound as far as production and arrangement is concerned. He also is the current bandleader for a guy who is world renown for his cartoon voice over work, and on the side, he also has his own band where he does loads of 60's tunes in it. A lot of the songs I talk about in today's interview episode are songs I will talk about in future episodes of this podcast, so a lot of them won't be added to the official Spotify playlist for the podcast because I don't really want to add the same songs twice when I will be covering them again in future episodes of my show, but for now, just in case you had no idea what we were talking about in regarding the specific songs and artists we were talking about in this episode, here are the links to some of the songs we talked about in today'e episode:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTIaRZYdGJohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTIaRZYdGJohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nuw8GJbqx94https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13Mtz-rDD2Ahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYPIVqtPoDwYou Can Also Follow Me On Instagram Right Here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You Can Also Check Out More of My original Music right here:http://www.samwilliamsmusic.netPlease do follow Tom Kenny's Official Instagram account for his band as well to keep updated on his band as well:https://www.instagram.com/tomkennyandthehiseas/Please do also check out the official Spotify playlist for this podcast. you might not find a lot of the songs I talk about in today's interview episode on there because these will be songs I'll be covering in future episodes with just me so once I do that I'll add them on to the playlist because I don't see the point in adding the same songs onto the same playlist twice. This week's episode of my podcast is going to be on one of my all time favorite one hit wonders, one that is so lyrically clever and interesting and complex and it's also one of the catchiest upbeat and danceable songs of this era. it's one of the few hit pop songs that draws comparison to the classic William Shakespeare play of Romeo and Juliet. This song also has ties to one of the commercially successful and biggest record labels of the 60's and beyond. Also I'm prepping for my next interview episode which will happen the week after next wee so to get you guys ready for that I"m going to do some vocal group related songs to lead in to the next person I'm interviewing who was a member of a 60's vocal group, so this episode and the next episode are going to be on vocal groups from the 60's, here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX1-e0w3mUwYou can Also Follow me and reach out to me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/You Can Also check out more of my original music right here:http://www.samwilliamsmusic.netAlso don't forget to check out my Redbubble Merch Store for my podcast and let me know if you decide to purchase something from it (email me with a picture of what you bought and send it to me with a few sentences of how much you love my podcast, you can do that by email at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can DM me it at iheartoldies)https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you liked my analysis on this week's song and I turned you on to a brand new song and artist that you've never heard of before and you learned some interesting things about them that you originally had no clue about until you listened to this episode, you can reach out to me on instagram at iheartoldies or email me at samltwilli@icloud.com.

This Week's Podcast Episode instead of doing my usual song arrangement breakdown and history lesson, I"m gonna be talking to an original member of a legendary 60's Psychedelic Rock band, he was the co writer of Incense and Peppermints and he also played keyboards on the track, and his best friend and co writer of the song (who was also a member of Strawberry Alarm Clock) later went on to become an original member of a very well known classic Rock band from the 70's. the interview talks about the brutal realities of the music business and how he was dealt with a shitty hand in terms of getting paid for the number one hit he had with the band and in the interview, he talks about how the band was formed and also how they got their name and who was the DJ that helped make Incense and Peppermints a huge number one hit and he also talked about what inspired him to write the follow up hits to Incense and Peppermints and how and why the band doesn't tour to this day and how they are still able to play some local shows in the Los Angeles Area and his insights on songwriting and being in music in general. Now before you listen to this podcast episode, I would absolutely listen to this band's most well known songs so that way you have a good idea for what I talk about with in in this interview. here are the youtube links to their most well known songs and also, I have officially started my own online merch store for this podcast and in this description I will also post a link to this description of this week's episode. the logo that is attached to my podcast merchandise is the catchphrase I say at the end of every episode ("Keep Things Groovy") in Keep on Trucking Tie Dye Colored Font on a black background with the name of my podcast on the bottom. here are the links to the Strawberry Alarm Clock's songs please listen to them before you listen to this episode: Incense and Peppermints:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RghL1rViX34Tomorrow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ9jyKbsL7ASitting With the Guru:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfB70r9DrHEHere is there link to their Facebook page just in case you wanted to follow them on Social Media:https://www.facebook.com/thestrawberryalarmclock/and here's their official website link: https://strawberryalarmclock.comand as always you can also follow me on Instagram right here:https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/and here's where you can check out more of my original music:http://www.samwilliamsmusic.netand here is my online Merch store for this podcast, I would appreciate any feedback regarding my store including how does the logo look and how affordable are the merchandise items. if you decide to purchase something from this store, email me at samltwilli@icloud.com and let me know when you do that and send me a picture of your item once you get it in the mail and also in the email tell me how much you love my podcast and one really cool artist that you got turned on to from listening to it and one really cool piece of information that you learned from listening to this podcast. here is the official Redbubble Store link:https://www.redbubble.com/people/60ssam95/works/36806158-keep-things-groovy?asc=u&ref=recent-ownerIf you enjoyed this interview and you learned a lot of cool facts about the Strawberry Alarm Clock that you never knew about them and you got turned on to their music and you've never heard of them or heard their stuff before, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com also, let me know if you would want me to do more interviews.
