Do you believe in UFOs? Is it possible that there are extraterrestrials here on planet Earth? Do unidentified beings walk among us? This is so hard to imagine, but humanity is at a time where we can take a leap in consciousness and understand that this may be a possibility. Our guest today is the esteemed civil rights attorney, Daniel Sheehan. Daniel is Harvard-educated and has worked on high-profile cases such as the Karen Silkwood case and Iran Contra civil case. He is also at the forefront of the unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) Disclosure movement which aims to bring transparency to this phenomenon. He is also the founder of the New Paradigm Institute and the Romero Institute, dedicated to social and environmental justice.   Today Danny talks about the direct link between spirituality and consciousness. When confronted by challenges, we can turn to spirituality. When we see how incredibly vast our universe really is, it's easier to imagine that we are not alone. There are different dimensions and different realities. We have limited understanding, but by opening up to exploration, and especially by learning from indigenous peoples, we can broaden our perspectives. As a civil rights attorney, Daniel has done  a lot of work with the Lakota people. He explains how they believe they come from the Pleiades in their spiritual tradition. This is a specific constellation visible to us.  They believe they have had a lot of encounters with Star People. The Shamans receive messages which they share within their community. We have evidence of tens of thousands of people having these encounters around the world. Now science is studying this phenomenon, and our government is investigating these incidents. Our worldviews depend on whether we view them as a threat, or as spiritual, enlightened beings. We are in a period right now where more people are open to this information. It may help us to answer profound questions – it may be a threat, or it may be an opportunity. We have Free Will and we can explore and determine our own answers. Daniel Sheehan will be speaking at the upcoming Conscious Life Expo at the LAX Hilton on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 2pm Pacific. His topic is “The Present State ‘Official U.S. Government Disclosure' of the UFO/E.T. Reality.” He will also have a post-conference on Monday, Feb. 10. The Conscious Life Expo held at the LAX Hilton in Los Angeles will take place Feb 7 – 10, 2025. Lisa Garr will be moderating the Radical Healing Panel on Sunday, Feb 9 at Noon Pacific. On the Winter Solstice of 2023, U.S. President Biden will sign a law that could move our entire planet a step closer to global transformation--or not. It's up to us. But the law will require the disclosure of UFO/UAP and alien encounter information held as some of the deepest secrets of the U.S. government. What does this mean for us? It may surprise you to learn that even the Vatican has formally acknowledged the existence of advanced life outside our solar system, and the need to come together to discuss the implications for us in terms of our religious, spiritual, philosophical, and political ideas and practices. How might we have to change in order to integrate the reality of extraterrestrial life? And what happens when we find out those beings seem more advanced not only technologically, but also in some sense more advanced in terms of consciousness itself?Daniel Sheehan joins us to discuss these questions and to go over the legislation. He's an insider. Danny is a Harvard-trained lawyer who has argued high-profile cases such as the Greensboro Massacre, the Silkwood case, the Three-Mile Island case, and even appeared before the Supreme Court in the famous Pentagon Papers case. As part of his work at the Romero Institute, he works with the New Paradigm Institute, to help empower all of us for a post-contact reality.https://newparadigmproject.org/https://www.danielpsheehan.com/

He is also the founder of the Romeo Institute (https://romeroinstitute.org/) and the New Paradigm Institute (https://newparadigmproject.org/). Danny has been a very public civil rights attorney for many decades, having worked on high profile cases whose favourable outcomes we take for granted today. And this is only a slice of the story. Danny wanted to be an astronaut – until he saw the political forces working against his hard fought battle to become one. So he studied law in the hopes that he could affect change for others. And along the way, he never lost site of his initial curiosity of the universe. We learn about his work with the Vatican and their discussion of disclosure of Non-Human Intelligence. We learn about his representation of Harvard professor and psychiatrist Dr. John Mack and former US Army counter-intelligence agent Luis Elizondo. We hear from Danny about the need for a great Revision, working against the forces of reaction and the idea behind the disassembling of the structural sources of injustice. Danny brings us his thoughts and beliefs about that extraordinary something that is going on and his efforts in being ahead of the curve and helping to establish a new paradigm shift in our World View.   We recommend Diana Pasulka (ep142), Br Guy Consulmagno (ep133) and Leslie Kean (ep112) as context material to this episode with Danny.   Danny, Website: www.danielpsheehan.com New Paradigm Project: https://newparadigmproject.org   Romero Institute: https://romeroinstitute.org/ Lakota Project: https://lakotalaw.org/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-peter-sheehan-6919355b/

WISCONSIN BEFORE LIGHTENING STRIKES; ANTI-TRANS WARFARE Our GREE-GREE #132 foreshadows the major victory in Wisconsin's critical state Supreme Court race that is being widely ranked as “the most important election of 2023.” We hear from ANDREA MILLER of the Center for Common Ground, NORM STOCKWELL of Progressive.org, and THOMAS NELSON of grassroots Wisconsin on the coming of what would be a huge victory for the Progressive movement. We know as you're listening to this that the left-leaning “Judge Janet” Protasiewicz won this crucial judgeship by a substantial margin.  She beat a MAGA Republican. So if you want to know how this happened, listen in to the powerful views of a critically important trio of organizer/activists who helped make this progressive victory happened. We then turn to BRYNN TANNEHILL and her uniquely brilliant systemic presentation on the national assault against the rights and freedoms of trans Americans. Among much more, Brynn tells us that “gun rights” stalwarts who NEVER want to limit gun ownership now want to make it illegal for trans citizens to own a gun. [IN OUR SECOND HOUR, FOR NEXT WEEK: PRESIDENT MICHELLE?  A ROMERO ADMINISTRATION?  LIVING EARTH MOVEMENT; MORE NUKE MADNESS In our latest GREE-GREE gathering, we're joined by legendary journalist/producer DAVID SALTMAN, presents the possibility of MICHELLE OBAMA running for President. Though there are obvious doubts, Saltman reads a long passage from the former First Lady that would seem to indicate she'd be open to the idea should Joe Biden decline to re-run Along the way we hear from LYNN FEINERMAN, JUSTIN LEBLANC and others. TATANKA BRICCA lays out the Romero Institute's on-going campaign to establish a full-blown government leadership apparatus, prepared to take and use power as the corporate Democrats and Trumpite Republicans fade away.   IGNACIO CASTUERA of the Living Earth Movement explains his organization's powerful campaign to insure that we get to world peace.  The movement focuses in particularly on guaranteeing detente with China, thus avoiding a war between the world's two biggest economies. Finally the brilliant  LINDA PENCE GUNTER of Beyond Nuclear confirms that Germany will, in fact, shut its last reactors around April 15. Thus the world's fourth-largest economy goes post-nuclear, with (hopefully) the fifth-largest (California) soon to follow. Linda also fills us in on the uselessness of Silly Mythic Reactors, and the on-going dangers at Ukraine's besieged Zaporigia. We also hear about the use of Depleted Uranium (DU), armor-penetrating shells that spread lethal atomic radiation throughout the landscape. Linda is joined by MYLA RESON who further explains the dangers of DU and atomic waste. This wide-ranging excursion should not be missed.  NO NUKES!!

Jesse Phelps, media coordinator for the Lakota Peoples Law Project, part of the Romero Institute, has found his work more important than ever during the Covid19 outbreak. The Lakota and Oglala peoples in South Dakota have formed mutual aid efforts to screen people coming into and their reservations for the virus. Given their poverty and lack of access to quality medical care, it is imperative for them to prevent the virus from getting to them in the first place. However SD Governor Kristi Noem disagrees and is trying to shut down their health-screening checkpoints. This media strategy — petitions, phone calls, social media posts — are being crafted and implemented right here in Ojai. Phelps, a veteran writer and journalist, has been busier than ever at his home in Ojai. Working with Native American leaders Madonna Thunderhawk (one of the greatest names ever) and Chase Iron Eyes, he is helping these beleaguered peoples stand their ground as threats — pipelines across their sacred sites, diseases of poverty, and now, a pandemic — become existential. Phelps has been working for half a decade with the LPLP and Romero Institute. The effort started when Lakota grandmothers sought out famous Iran-Contra scandal investigative attorney Daniel Sheehan to help with the cultural genocide that was taking place when native American youth were being taken from their families to be raised by Christian white families until very recently. We talk about growing up in Ojai with hippie parents and friends, with a freedom unimaginable to many of today's helicopter-parented children, the hangouts and the mischief that was the daily routine. Jesse also talks about Michael Jackson's visit to the Ojai library during the height of his fame, and Jesse's efforts to get Jacko to do a public service announcement for the National Library Association, based in his "Read It" libretto, written to the beat of "Beat It." Didn't happen, but Phelps did get a sweet and thoughtful letter in reply. And a wonderful story for the Ojai Quarterly. Phelps talks about the incredible opportunity presented by the current crisis to make a societal shift toward sustainable energy, as well as the energy of today's youth and their ability to transcend the "politics as usual" that plagues the present day. We do not talk about "The Last Dance," about Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, Jesse's love of film and of John Paul Jones' naval victories for both the American Revolution and the Russian empire.

Today on Sojourner Truth, we continue our two-part series featuring constitutional and public interest lawyer, public speaker, political activist and educator Daniel Sheehan. Sheehan serves as Chief Counsel of the Romero Institute, where he has advocated on behalf of the Lakota People's Law Project. He also teaches at UCSC (the University of California Santa Cruz), delivering lectures on climate change, the potential impeachment of Donald J. Trump and the Standing Rock Movement against the Dakota Access pipeline, among others. Today, you will hear Part 2 of Sheehan's Trajectory of Justice course offered in 2019, focusing on the Robert Mueller report and the Special Counsel investigation. The Special Counsel investigation was an investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections and incriminating links between Donald Trumps inner circle and Russian officials. It was conducted by special prosecutor Robert Mueller from May 2017 to March 2019. Since July 2016, the FBI covertly investigated activities by Russian operatives and by members of Trumps presidential campaign, using the code name Crossfire Hurricane. In May 2017, Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. Within eight days, following a call to action by Democratic lawmakers and revelations by Comey, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller, a former FBI director, to take over the FBI's investigation. The investigation officially concluded on March 22, 2019, when the Mueller Report was submitted to Attorney General Bob Barr, who many say misrepresented the reports findings. By July 2019, Mueller testified to Congress that Trump could be charged with obstruction of justice (or other crimes) after he left office. Since then, efforts to impeach Trump based on the Mueller investigation have floundered. Today, Sheehan discusses what the Mueller investigation missed and what he thinks is next for the future of Trump and the United States.

As of June 2019, seven U.S. states have passed laws that worsen punishments for environmental activists planning or participating in protests against such pipelines. These laws elevate misdemeanors to felonies while significantly escalating civil and criminal penalties. Since 2017, Republican lawmakers have proposed laws criminalizing these protests in at least 18 states. At least six more states are considering such laws. Sheehan also dives into the role of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin's governments in tapping into oil reserves on the Arctic shelf and its environmental consequences.

Standing Rock Water Protectors: Climate Justice Showdown Still Hanging Fire Lakota Chief Chase Iron Eyes In what defense attorneys are calling a major victory for their client and for the water protectors of Standing Rock, prosecutors have dropped all serious charges against former North Dakota congressional candidate Chase Iron Eyes in his case resulting from protests of the Dakota Access pipeline. Chief Iron Eyes, an attorney who works for the Lakota People’s Law Project, was facing a maximum of six years in state prison after his arrest for alleged criminal trespass and incitement of a riot near the Standing Rock Sioux reservation on February 1, 2017. “The world should know that it’s legally impossible for me and other Native people to trespass on treaty land," stated Chief Iron Eyes. Iron Eyes’ attorneys filed documents on Monday proving that his arrest occurred on treaty land never ceded by the Sioux tribe. The state of North Dakota ruled weeks ago that this land had never been acquired nor legally owned by pipeline parent company Energy Transfer Partners (ETP). "I and the water protectors are not terrorists. We and the US veterans who stood with us to protect Mother Earth are the true patriots,” said Iron Eyes.   Romero Institute co-founder Daniel Sheehan was chief attorney on Iron Eyes’ defense team for the Lakota People’s Law Project. Lakota People's Law is an ongoing campaign of the Romero Institute, an interfaith, nonprofit law and public policy center that grew out of the Christic Institute, and which has been at the center of profoundly significant landmark legal cases for social and environmental justice since the 1980's.   Radio Planet Watch is honored to host Daniel Sheehan's son, Lakota People's Law Project Program Director Danny Paul Nelson. Nelson, who holds a BA in Political Theory from Harvard and an MA in Social Science from the University of Chicago, speaks with Planet Watch hosts Jordan and Goodman about the recent legal victory from Standing Rock, and connections between indigenous rights and climate justice. Danny Paul Nelson of Lakota People's Law Project “Our work to prepare Chase’s defense unveiled solid evidence of a racially motivated criminal alliance between the oil companies and the private military security industry (colluding with local, state, and federal law enforcement) to deny Native Americans and their allies their civil and treaty rights,” said Danny Paul. “Standing Rock focused the attention of the world on the importance of Native sovereignty and the needs to protect water and resist climate change. Chase’s willingness to pursue a 'necessity' defense has produced strong legal tools for future protesters.” Prior to the interview with Danny Paul on today's show, Planet Watch shared an audio clip from a just released video, We Are Not Terrorists. In the video, Iron Eyes and his team position their anti-pipeline protest in the context of what they assert to be a growing threat posed to civil liberties, embodied by the rise of antiprotest legislation and the burgeoning alliance between the oil companies and the private military security industry. The video is accompanied by an open letter to President Donald Trump. Danny Paul exposes a dangerous trend has emerging in Trump's America: The administration is opening Native American reservations and national monument lands to fossil fuel extraction, and activists are being targeted by law enforcement and treated like terrorists. Currently, 20 states have passed or are considering legislation that would curtail citizen rights to protest environmental destruction and human rights violations. Moving forward, Lakota People’s Law Project Chief Counsel Daniel Sheehan and the entire team will continue to strategically confront the fossil fuel industry and their destructive agenda, which threatens our water, our planet, and the entire human family.

This week on "Rebel Hearts": Kristie speaks with Daniel Paul Nelson who works for the "Lakota People's Law Project" as well as "The Romero Institute", helping to fight climate change as well as injustices against native peoples. Daniel holds a BA in Political Theory from Harvard College and an MA in Social Science from the University of Chicago. The "Lakota People's Law Project" engages in ongoing efforts to reclaim ancestral lands, stop all threats to Lakota land and resources as well as work toward the revitalization of their people and culture.   In this interview we talk about the repeating and continuos story of broken treaties with the Lakota (amongst many other First Nations), from the Fort Laramie treaties that were signed in the mid 1800s and shortly disregarded afterwards to the most recent events at Standing Rock.    Daniel speaks on the current law suits against 300 water protectors and the work of the "Lakota People's Law Project" to have these charges dropped. He explains the legality around the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL), and what we can do when corporations place money above the well-being of people and the environment. Daniel talks about the environmental issues that we are facing and the need for change.    We talk about the significance of the events at Standing Rock, no matter whether they illuminated the injustice towards the Lakota Nation or the mistreatment of peaceful water protectors; at the same time, the people coming together during these events show us that healing is possible, the need to stand together and that we have the power to create change!
