Scott Hardy, a fifth generation stockman, understands the dedication required to excel. Though largely self-taught, Hardy acknowledges the influence of modern masters Al Pecetti and Mark Drain. In his 40th year as a full-time silversmith and engraver, Hardy was commissioned by the Calgary Stampede to create 100 hand-engraved, silver and gold buckles commemorating the Stampede's 2012 Centennial. Canada Post issued a stamp featuring Hardy's buckle to celebrate the Stampede's centennial making Hardy the first silversmith with work featured on a Canadian stamp. A full-time silversmith and engraver since 1981, Scott has been honoured by the Academy of Western Artists, receiving the 2001 Will Rogers Award as Engraver of the Year. In 1994 his was judged Best of Show at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. Scott Hardy's Mission As A Western Silversmith Has Always Been Twofold: Improve Each Day & Bring The Beauty & Elegance Of The West To The World One Piece At A Time "Embellishing horse and rider with precious metals is a tradition as old as man on horseback. Crossing tribal and cultural boundaries, silver and gold trappings have expressed the pride of horsemen throughout the millennia. The image of the cowboy still stirs our ideals of independence, integrity and freedom, while appreciation of things well-made, by hand, flourishes in this age of mass production and mediocrity." Trinity is a word you won't find in your Bible. However, the theological concept and teaching are spread throughout the Old and New Testaments. It's a complex doctrine to understand, but that doesn't make it any less true. It is how God has revealed himself to us in his Word. Scott Hardy helps us consider this doctrine in today's devotionable. Devotionables #345: Genesis 18; Matthew 3, 28; Ephesians 1 Trinity Big Themes and Words of the Bible

Mass Tort & Class Action Communications Revisited: Scott Hardy, a tech industry veteran and founder of Top Class Actions – a website that serves as a “stock exchange” for mass torts and class actions – speaks with host Richard Levick of LEVICK about how over 13 years, Top Class Actions has increased claim levels from single digits to as high as 50% while simultaneously providing companies that are defendants in these cases to communicate effectively with customers that are also plaintiffs. Since the plaintiffs bar uses the site effectively to identify plaintiffs, defendants often misunderstand that this is an opportunity to retain customer loyalty after a bad experience.

Scott Hardy comes from a strong lineage of ranchers. Following a childhood spent cowboying, shoeing horses and welding, Scott's love of handiwork led to his tinkering in jewelry for bridle saddles and buckles, and even some early attempts at engraving. Yet it wasn't until Scott was told, “Man, do you need help,” by one of his horse jewelry idols, that he began to appreciate the true dedication, skill and artistry involved in Western design. Four decades later, Scott Hardy is a renowned master silversmith, celebrated for his intricate filigree work, lifelike engravings and his dedication to preserving the tradition of Western jewelry techniques. The first silversmith to have his work featured on a Canadian stamp, Scott is an original founder of the Traditional Cowboys Arts Association (TCAA) and is showcased in museums around the globe. Saddle up for a podcast journey celebrating the artistry, tradition and future of Western design.

Hello and welcome to episode 27 of Mind Bloom! This week, your host, Marina Gee, reflects on the stigma surrounding mental illness, particularly men's mental illness, and suggests the debunking of the limiting beliefs that make us buy into the notion that we're not good at this or that. These limiting beliefs are not thruthful, they cripple our full potential and serve as excuses for not exploring at length our biggest goals and dreams. This week, Marina speaks with Agent Scott Hardy, co-host of the podcast Spy Hards, which is all about, you guessed it, spy movies. Scott is an amazing guest: he knows a thing or two about classic spy cinema, and he has a personal knowledge of eating disorders and body dysmorphia. For more than twenty years, Scott has experienced and dealt with the devastating effects of bulimia and an inaccurate self-representation of his physical makeup. Listen through to discover the causes and the consequences associated with Scott's eating and anxiety-related disorders. He has a professional interest in airway management and teaches on the Difficult Airway Course. May, 1975, two cousins, Scott Hardy and Mark Mellendorf walk from Mellendorf's home in Lapeer County Michigan to Tody Lake for some fishing. When the boys don't return home, their parents raise the alarm and searchers scour the woods for hours trying to find the young boys. The next morning, a tracking dog makes a horrific discovery on the southern end of the lake. Both boys are dead and there is a killer on the loose in this idyllic community. Days later a second boy, Willie Walters, takes his fishing gear to Kearsley Creek, he too doesn't return. His battered body is discovered the next morning. These horrific crimes happened just a few miles north of the hunting grounds favored by the Oakland County Child Killer in 1976-1977. #Michigan, #Murder, #OCCK Support the show.
