Jerry Brudos, famously known as the "Shoe Fetish Slayer" or the "Lust Killer," is a haunting example of how twisted psychology can lead to violent crimes. What started as an obsession with women's shoes and clothes spiraled into horrific murders, showing just how dangerous deep-rooted psychological issues can become. At first glance, there wasn't much to the mild and unassuming Jerry Brudos; however, when investigators looked into his background, they discovered several arrests for theft, prowling, and sexual assault. And the more they learned about Brudos' life, the more certain they became that he was the man they were looking for.Ultimately, Jerry Brudos was convicted of the murders of Jan Whitney, Karen Sprinker, and Linda Salee and given three life sentences. His capture and incarceration were a big relief to the women of Oregon, but his cooperation with law enforcement and the FBI would prove invaluable as the latter established what would eventually become the Behavioral Analysis Unit.ReferencesAssociated Press. 1969. Over the course of 1968 and well into 1969, several young women in Salem, Oregon went missing and would later turn up dead—all murdered and showing signs of having been tortured. Many of the cases bore certain similarities, but it wasn't until investigators questioned the friends of one of the victims, Karen Sprinker, that they came to identify a suspect and eventually arrested thirty-year-old Jerome “Jerry” Brudos. At first glance, there wasn't much to the mild and unassuming Jerry Brudos; however, when investigators looked into his background, they discovered several arrests for theft, prowling, and sexual assault. Known by some as the Lust Killer or The Shoe Fetish Slayer, whatever you call him, he will make your skin crawl. Join us today as we take a look at the life and crimes of Jerry Brudos.
We got a weird one today! Wow. Jerry Brudos was a serial killer who became completely consumed with sexual fantasies revolving around women's shoes - specifically high heels - and women's undergarments. He wanted women he could control - to dress and pose exactly how he wanted, when he wanted. And if couldn't get them to do that in life, he would use their dead bodies to quench his increasingly kinky desires. How did he become so singularly focused? Where did his obsession with women's shoes, bras, panties, and more begin? We take a look at kink, today, and how you can take it way, way too far. This week, Kelsie and Chase are joined by a special guest, Chase's mom, Diana! They talk through Jerry Brudos, a serial killer in the Pacific North West who targeted young women in parking garages and secluded areas. Growing up, Jerry had a shoe fetish, but was demonized by his mother, who punished him whenever he was found with shoes. In his teenage years, Jerry began fantasizing about women, but, about strangling them and leaving them unconscious. Jerry Brudos would go on to be the longest incarcerated inmate at the Oregon State Penitentiary.Make sure you're following along as we upload new episodes every Monday, and as always, thank you for listening!Support our show:Sources for this episode include:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Brudoshttps://www.360cities.net/image/boonehttp://www.crimezzz.net/serialkillers/B/BRUDOS_jerome_henry.phphttps://murderpedia.org/male.B/b/brudos-jerome.htmhttps://www.crimelibrary.org/serial_killers/predators/jerry_brudos/9.htmlhttps://sports.yahoo.com/9-chilling-facts-jerry-brudos-075322086.htmlhttps://www.google.com/search?q=when+was+linda+salees+body+found&rlz=1C1GCEU_enUS868US868&oq=when+was+linda+salees+body+found&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i10i160i395j33i299j33i402l5.5663j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8https://thatoregonlife.com/2022/10/jerry-brudos/Support the show
While all acts of violence and cruelty directed at innocent individuals are condemnable, certain cases distinguish themselves as particularly macabre, even within the realm of the most heinous offenses. This case falls into that category. Jerry Brudos, an American serial killer and necrophiliac, developed an obsession with high heel shoes at a young age. The profound psychological harm inflicted upon him during his childhood by his cruel mother combined with his high heel fixation, ultimately drove Jerry Brudos to commit unspeakable acts of barbarity against innocent women. Earning himself the title “Shoe Fetish Slayer,” this individual is, without question, one of the most evil psychopathic killers we've explored to date. Prepare yourself... Join us this week as we head to Oregon. Hannah shares with us the story of Jerome Henry "Jerry" Brudos otherwise known as “The Lust Killer” or “The Shoe Fetish Slayer”. This is a doozy of a case… In true Capricorn fashion, Hannah will also educate us on fetishes, including some pretty interesting statistics. There are several side tangents of course… and we end the night with some fiery and quirky astrology for the upcoming week. Check it out and let us know what your fetish is… Just make sure “Hannah” is in the subject line. This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
This goofball parlayed a love of ladies' shoes into some real sicko business, killing at least four people and filling his freezer with feet.
Today we have something really special for you guys. We recorded a live podcast show last week. We had Melynda from the Hungry Hustle join us as we discussed Oregon serial killers. Melynda covered Dayton Leroy Rogers, who focused on killing sex workers and discarding their bodies in the forest. We discussed the serial killer Jerry Brudos, the "Shoe Fetish Slayer" who murdered four women in the late 1960's. Jerry had a fetish for women's shoes and women's clothing, and desired to have complete control over his victims. Jerry is a case study that shows the escalation from petty theft to murder, rape, and necrophilia. Jerry was eventually caught after, the task force created to investigate into the multiple missing women in the area, discovered multiple bodies in the Willamette River. They were also tipped off to sightings of a large red headed man dressed in women's clothing lurking about. If you liked listening to the show and want to hear more from us in the future then please rate review and subscribe to us in Apple podcasts or follow us on your favorite podcatcher. In the late 1960s, Jerome Henry Brudos killed at least four women in Oregon — and used their corpses for his necrophilic fantasies. Troubled from an early age, it wouldn't take long until freckled, red-headed, flabby Jerry Brudos, would find himself unable to control his desire to turn live women into human dolls.
Jerry Brudos had an intense fascination with women's footwear from a young age. As he got older, this fascination turned into a murderous fetish. Four women were brutally murdered and dismembered, and Jerry kept certain mementos close to him. Tune in to hear about the sickening crimes of the Shoe Fetish Slayer. Jerry Brudos was born in Webster, South Dakota, as the younger of two sons. Brudos had a fetish for women's shoes from the age of 5,[4] after playing with stiletto heeled shoes at a local junkyard. He reportedly attempted to steal the shoes of his first grade teacher. Brudos also had a fetish for women's underwear and claimed that he would steal underwear from female neighbors as a child.[3] He spent his teen years in and out of psychotherapy and psychiatric hospitals. Jerry Brudos terrorized the Pacific Northwest during the late 1960s. Abused as a child, he never developed a healthy attitude towards women or sex. This would eventually manifest itself in a creepy and criminal way as he is known for taking the lives of four women in only 15 months. Had he not been caught so quickly, it is doubtless he would have achieved the infamy of Richard Ramirez or Ted Bundy due to the brutal nature of his crimes. So I bought a serial killer coloring book off of Amazon. I turned to a random page and decided to do an episode on the man I turned to, which happened to be Jerry Brudos. Jerry Brudos is known as the Shoe Fetish Slayer or the Lust Killer (these names will make sense as you listen to the episode). As a child, Brudos was subjected to physical and emotional abuse by his mother because she wanted her third child to be a girl. As a teenager, Brudos began to stalk and harass women as well as go out at night to steal underwear and high heels. Brudos was said to have attacked his first victim in 1867, however, his notorious killing spree lasted from 1968 to 1969. Brudos bludgeoned, strangled, and murder four women during this time period and attempted to attack two others. Sources: The idea came from: Serial Killers: Big Kid's Coloring Book Illustrated by K. Episode 7 is quite the EYE opener...you'll get it later... The theme this week is FETISHES! Jen tells us about the Shoe Fetish Slayer, and Haley the Dallas Eyeball Killer. We also discuss the greatest combo-article ever about hybristophilia, and that there are people in the world who have fetishized just about anything (trees, bird-f*ckers, vomit, you get the picture). Not only that, but we also read TWO listener stories about their encounters with intense BDSM on a first date and a blue wolf furry costume. This episode is dedicated to all the chickens who've lost their lives due to fetishes - we know you, we haven't forgotten you, and we love you. Rest In Peace.
