Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Reliable scooper Jeff Sneider claims Marvel Studios is actively looking for an actor to play T'Challa/The Black Panther, replacing the late Chadwick Boseman who passed away in 2020. According to Sneider, the studio's replacement of Boseman is only due to the fact that the MCU is working within the Multiverse currently. In related news, when asked during an interview about a dream role, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo said she would “really want to play Storm,” to “uncover how grand she is,”. Lastly, an OG villain is returning to the MCU, with Faran Tahir coming to the small screen to reprise the character of Raza, the leader of the so-called Ten Rings from 2008's Iron Man.  In some confirmed casting news, Rory McCann will replace the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll for Ahsoka season two. McCann is best known for playing The Hound in Game of Thrones, but his roster of work also includes Gladiator II, Hot Fuzz, Clash of the Titans, and more. Ahsoka is part of Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau's Mandoverse, and Filoni will return as showrunner for season two. Director Andy Muschietti let it be known why he thinks the 2023 DCEU movie The Flash, flopped. On Radio Tu's “La Baulera del Coso” show, Muschietti said the film didn't appeal to “all four quadrants” of moviegoers. The quadrants he's speaking of are men over 25, men under 25, women over 25, and women under 25. Muschietti also said anecdotally that in conversations with people he found they “just don't care about the Flash as a character…particularly the two female quadrants.” Colman Domingo has been cast in Edgar Wright's The Running Man and will star alongside Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, Karl Glusman, Katy O'Brian and Daniel Ezra. The film releases on November 7. Production on many Hollywood television and film projects has been suspended and events such as The Critic's Choice Awards, red carpet premieres, and The Academy Awards nominations have been postponed due to the LA area wildfires. Five-time WWE world champion Seth Rollins has confirmed he is not in upcoming MCU movie Captain America: Brave New World, saying his role was cut following extensive rewrites of the script and subsequent reshoots. Universal Pictures has updated the release date calendar for two animated properties. DreamWorks' Shrek 5 has been pushed back almost 6 months to December 23, 2026 and Minions 3 from Illumination is moving forward almost a year to take Shrek 5's original date of  July 1, 2026. Variety reported today that MCU screenwriting veteran Marcus McFeely originally turned the Russo Brothers down about writing for Secret Wars, even though he is the reason the directing duo is returning. However, the next day McFeely called the Russos back and said he was in after coming up with an idea for the film. Warner Brothers is bringing back The Puppy Bowl for its 21st installment this year, but will use the game to bolster its upcoming DCU film Superman. James Gunn will appear during The Puppy Bowl with his dog Ozu, who served as the inspiration for the superdog Krypto in the film. Gunn will introduce a sneak preview of Superman and deliver a “special message” to viewers. According to box office tracking service Quorum, Captain America: Brave New World will likely cross the $100 Million Dollar Mark in it's opening 4 day weekend Ludwig Göransson will compose the score for Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey. Göransson's other film and TV credits include Creed, Black Panther, Atlanta, Tenet, and The Mandalorian. Succession creator Jesse Armstrong has reached an agreement with HBO to produce a feature film. The movie is based on an original idea of Armstrong's and will center on four friends who meet up in the midst of a global financial crisis. Production is currently fast-tracked to start later this year.

In this year's GateSlashers podcast special, hosts Dan and Ethan sit down to talk about IT, the two-part film adaption of Stephen King's iconic horror novel. Released in 2017, IT Chapter One, directed by Andy Muschietti, adapted one half of King's novel, focusing on a group of teen outcasts known as the Loser's Club as they encounter a malevolent entity known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in their hometown of Derry, Maine. IT Chapter Two, released in 2019, again directed by Muschietti, finds the Loser's Club reuniting 27 years later to once again face-off with a returned Pennywise. On the podcast, we discuss our love of these films, how they are a shining example of studio horror, and true fear brought on by Pennywise. We also dive into the perfect casting across the board, from the young Loser's Club to their adult counterparts, and the sublimely terrifying performance by Bill Skarsgård as the titular IT, Pennywise.

If you would like to give us feedback on how were doing follow us at: https://beacons.ai/senornerdpodcast https://www.instagram.com/senornerdpodcast/ @senornerdpod on Twitter The Flash is a 2023 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is the 13th installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film was directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, based on a story by Joby Harold and the writing team of John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. It stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton. In the film, Barry travels back in time to prevent his mother's death, which brings unintended consequences. Development of a film based on the Flash began in the late 1980s, with multiple writers and directors attached to the project through 2014. The film was then redeveloped as a part of the DCEU, with Miller cast as the title character. Multiple directors were attached to the film over the following years, with Seth Grahame-Smith, Rick Famuyiwa, and the duo of Daley and Goldstein all departing the project over creative differences. Muschietti and Hodson joined the film in July 2019, and pre-production began in January 2020. The film is influenced by the comic book storyline Flashpoint (2011), featuring other DC characters, such as Calle's Supergirl and both Ben Affleck's and Keaton's versions of Batman. Principal photography took place from April to October 2021 at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden and on location around the United Kingdom. The Flash premiered at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on June 12, 2023, and was released in the United States on June 16, following multiple delays caused by director changes, the COVID-19 pandemic, post-production setbacks, and controversies surrounding Miller. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised its humor, action sequences, and the performances, but criticized the third act and visual effects. The film has grossed $268.5 million worldwide, becoming one of the biggest box-office bombs of all time, with projections of a $200 million loss for Warner Bros.

Welcome to our review for THE FLASH. We are joined by Philip Guillet as well as Joe Vitale from The Vintage Geeks Podcast. Warner Bros. Pictures presents “The Flash,” directed by Andy Muschietti (the “IT” films, “Mama”). Ezra Miller reprises their role as Barry Allen in the DC Super Hero's first-ever standalone feature film.Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?“The Flash” ensemble also includes rising star Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon (“Bullet Train,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”), Ron Livingston (“Loudermilk,” “The Conjuring”), Maribel Verdú (“Elite,” “Y tu mamá también”), Kiersey Clemons (“Zack Snyder's Justice League,” “Sweetheart”), Antje Traue (“King of Ravens,” “Man of Steel”) and Michael Keaton (“Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Batman”).“The Flash” is produced by Barbara Muschietti (the “IT” films, “Mama”) and Michael Disco (“Rampage,” “San Andreas”). The screenplay is by Christina Hodson (“Birds of Prey,” “Bumblebee”), with a screen story by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein (“Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming”) and Joby Harold (“Transformers:Rise of the Beasts,” “Army of the Dead”), based on characters from DC. The executive producers are Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman and Marianne Jenkins.Joining director Muschietti behind the camera are director of photography Henry Braham (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “The Suicide Squad”), production designer Paul Denham Austerberry (“IT Chapter Two,” “The Shape of Water”), editors Jason Ballantine (the “IT” films, “The Great Gatsby”) and Paul Machliss (“The Gentlemen,” “Baby Driver”), and costume designer Alexandra Byrne (“Doctor Strange,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”); the score is by Benjamin Wallfisch (“The Invisible Man,” the “IT” films).Warner Bros. Editors - Jason Ballantine ACE and Paul Machliss ACE While THE FLASH editors Jason Ballantine ACE and Paul Machliss ACE* both hail from Australia, this latest entry in the DCEU would be their first time meeting one another.  Both editors have been advancing their careers away from their homeland for quite some time.  Jason has worked in LA for the past ten years, while Paul has been in London for the last twenty.  The director who would be responsible for bringing these two together is Andy Muschietti, Jason's director for IT (2017) and IT CHAPTER TWO (2019).  The two editors split editing duties pretty much down the middle for THE FLASH, each taking five of the film's ten reels.  One thing that did separate them for much of the film's development was geography.  While Jason was holding down the fort at Warner Brothers Studios in LA, Paul was on location in the UK for seven months, assembling main unit footage with Muschietti.  Following production, Machliss would join Jason in LA for six additional months of editing.  And it would be six more months before Ballantine would put the final touches on the highly anticipated "metahuman" movie. Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, THE FLASH is the thirteenth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen (The Flash) alongside Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú.  In the film, Barry travels back in time to prevent his mother's death, which traps him in an alternate reality without metahumans. Barry enlists the help of; his younger self, an older Batman and the Kryptonian castaway Supergirl in order to save this world from General Zod and return to his universe. JASON BALLANTINE ACE Jason Ballantine began his editing career in the horror genre (one which he would return to often) with the Australian thriller WOLF CREEK (2005).  From there he would edit other fright flicks, such as PROM NIGHT (2008), CRUSH (2009) and NEEDLE (2010).  But it would be his work on director Andy Muschietti's adaptation of Stephen King's IT (2017) and IT: CHAPTER TWO (2019) that would put an exclamation point on Jason's work in the horror medium.  Jason has also previously teamed up with directors Baz Luhrmann and Matthew Vaughn for THE GREAT GATSBY (2013) and THE KING'S MAN (2021) respectively. PAUL MACHLISS ACE While known most prominently for his work with Edgar Wright; SPACED (1999-2001), SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD (2010), THE WORLD'S END (2013), BABY DRIVER (2017) and LAST NIGHT IN SOHO (2021), Paul also edited; the pilot episode of FLEABAG (2016), eighteen episodes of THE IT CROWD (2006-2008) and films such as THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING (2019) and THE GENTLEMEN (2019).  For his work on BABY DRIVER, Paul was nominated for an Oscar® alongside co-editor John Amos. * [Publisher's Note] The guests wish to express their regret and apologies for using he/him pronouns in referencing Ezra Miller (they/them). No disrespect was intended toward Ezra or anyone else.  This oversight should be attributed to all of the following conditions: jet lag, old age, and recording this interview way too early on a Sunday morning.  Thanks for your understanding. DC's latest big-budget release, The Flash, has been met with mixed reactions from both critics and audiences. However, DC Films co-head James Gunn appears to be convinced that The Flash director Andy Muschietti can shoulder the responsibility of a major big-budget DC project. A report from Variety claims that Muschietti will be helming the new Batman reboot based on the Brave and the Bold comics. This will be separate from Matt Reeves' Batman universe starring Robert Pattinson.

Pictures presents “The Flash,” directed by Andy Muschietti (the “IT” films, “Mama”). Ezra Miller reprises their role as Barry Allen in the DC Super Hero's first-ever standalone feature film. Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?  “The Flash” ensemble also includes rising star Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon (“Bullet Train,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”), Ron Livingston (“Loudermilk,” “The Conjuring”), Maribel Verdú (“Elite,” “Y tu mamá también”), Kiersey Clemons (“Zack Snyder's Justice League,” “Sweetheart”), Antje Traue (“King of Ravens,” “Man of Steel”) and Michael Keaton (“Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Batman”). “The Flash” is produced by Barbara Muschietti (the “IT” films, “Mama”) and Michael Disco  (“Rampage,” “San Andreas”). The screenplay is by Christina Hodson (“Birds of Prey,” “Bumblebee”), with a screen story by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein (“Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming”) and Joby Harold (“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” “Army of the Dead”), based on characters from DC. The executive producers are Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman and Marianne Jenkins. Joining director Muschietti behind the camera are director of photography Henry Braham (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “The Suicide Squad”), production designer Paul Denham Austerberry (“IT Chapter Two,” “The Shape of Water”), editors Jason Ballantine (the “IT” films, “The Great Gatsby”) and Paul Machliss (“The Gentlemen,” “Baby Driver”), and costume designer Alexandra Byrne (“Doctor Strange,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”); the score is by Benjamin Wallfisch (“The Invisible Man,” the “IT” films). Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Double Dream/a Disco Factory production of an Andy  Muschietti film, “The Flash.” It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. The Flash is a 2023 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is intended to be the 13th installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton. In the film, Barry travels back in time to prevent his mother's death, which brings unintended consequences. Development of a film featuring the Flash began in the late 1980s, with multiple writers and directors attached to the project through 2014. The film was then redeveloped as a part of the DCEU, with Miller cast as the title character. Multiple directors were attached to the film over the following years, with Seth Grahame-Smith, Rick Famuyiwa, and the duo of John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein all departing the project over creative differences. Muschietti and Hodson joined the film in July 2019, and pre-production began in January 2020. The film is influenced by the comic book storyline Flashpoint, featuring multiple DC Comics characters, including both Ben Affleck and Keaton, reprising their respective versions of Batman. Principal photography took place from April to October 2021 at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden and on location around the United Kingdom. The Flash will premiere in Los Angeles on June 12, 2023, and will be released in the United States on June 16, following multiple delays caused by director changes, the COVID-19 pandemic, and post-production setbacks. The film received praise for its action sequences and performances (particularly Miller and Keaton) but criticism for its visual effects and third act --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/popcorn-junkies/message
