Danger lurks as Ben and Tao figure out not just how to get away with murder, but how to do it with aplomb, in Inkle’s inverted murder mystery whodunit - (we did!) - Overboard! As well as discussing the various solutions and outcomes of the tricksy puzzler, the pair discuss the innovative use of time, repetition as both an obstacle and invitation to discovery, player knowledge to supplement character knowledge and whether there’s method to Inkle’s madness. Plus, Pixel Vision make a special announcement… Spoilers upon spoilers. This game would be nearly impossible to discuss without game critical reveals. If you like the sound of it from the intro, it’s recommended you play before listening.Content Warning: PEGI 12. Seduction and saucy behaviour, but nothing graphic (in the game, Tao and Ben are platonic as ever). Delightfully sociopathic murders depicted through comedic text snippets (also in the game. Ben and Tao are alive and well. At the time of writing).Clarifications:You may hear us refer to the main character, Veronica Villensey, as Villensley, with an L. This is an error. Ben regrets this error. Tao says “it might as well be the same name”.Much of the music is performed by the US Army Band, US Army Blues, US Army Strings and The Dixieland Band of the US Army Band's Jazz Ambassador and includes:Flight of the BumblebeeCoventry CarolSouvenir De Florence Mvt 1Main StemKelli's NumberStardustBugablueBayou FarewellThe a cappella group Ben references is not The Inkspots, it’s Birmingham Jubilee Singers, singing Pharaoh's Army Got DrownedBen mentions the love poems and at the time of recording hadn’t figured out their usage. Originally from the Czech Republic, Dr. Kristina Henckel is a concert pianist and current faculty member at Sandhills Community College. Kristina breaks down her early education in the Czech Republic, the rigorous process to earn her doctoral degree, and playing concert piano across Europe. She then made her way to the Pacific Northwest of the United States through her time as a pianist in the official US Army Band: https://www.goarmy.com/band.html Perhaps the most rewarding and successful part of her professional career has been teaching students piano through private instruction. A student of hers was recently a finalist in an international piano contest with more than 1,000 participants world-wide. Kristina herself received an award from the competition for her outstanding teaching. Dr. Henckel is incredibly talented as performer and a teacher and both Sandhills Community College and the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center are lucky to have her. Kristina's upcoming solo recital performance willbe held in BPAC's Owens Auditorium on Saturday, August 21. This event will beopen to the public as well as Livestreamed on BPAC's YouTube Channel. My dad was in the US Army Band during the Korean War. I was brought up listening to military marches and patriotic songs. In addition, we were taught many patriotic songs while in our early years of grade school. Tonight, on the eve of the inauguration I will play these songs along with some songs from the Civil War and even Dixie. If we still have a Republic tomorrow by some miracle then this will be in celebration. If the country goes Communist by the hands of Biden and Harris then we will have memories of our once great America

Herpes, cold sores, HSV, whatever you call it is not something to be ashamed about. Having a positive diagnosis does not mean your sex life is over and it also doesn’t mean you should stop practicing non monogamy. The emotionally traumatizing part many people face that do test positive is the stigma people have about it. Our special guest today, Samia Mounts, is a dear friend, accomplished singer, actor, voice actor, and writer. She has written about the topics of polyamory, open relationships, and sexuality for seven years and is also now sharing her herpes story. She is passionate about shedding the ridiculous social stigma of herpes and HSV and wants to people to know that living a happy, healthy, fulfilling sex life is more than possible when you’re positive. As many as 1 in 2 American adults have oral herpes and an estimated 1 in 8 Americans adults have genital herpes. TBJ103: Joe Lovinsky, horn phenom, discusses his time in the Army band, being a sharp-shooter, cage fighter, and ultra runner. Yes really. 100-Mile Joe! Joe Lovinsky is an amazing player, teacher, and person. He sits down with Andrew & Lance to discuss why he may, in fact, be the most interesting man in the world! From his bio page: Joseph Lovinsky, principal horn and frequent soloist of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, was appointed to this position by world-renowned horn soloist Barry Tuckwell. Lovinsky, the former principal horn of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” as well as The Army Orchestra, and The Army Brass Quintet in Washington DC, was also a frequent soloist with those ensembles. From 2013-2018, Joe taught at the Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, where he was a member of both the Faculty Brass and Wind Quintets. Joseph was horn instructor of the 2014 Music for All Summer Symposium at Ball State University and the 2016 Chamber Music National Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. Well, we all survived the Second American Civil War, so what better way to celebrate then by over analyzing Disney movies from the perspective of the working classes. Monarchists beware, we're coming for you. Also, we go into detail about the true Shakespearean influences of the Lion King, it's not the play you think it is, and somehow get sidetracked into talking about the 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac. I don't know either. Some nerds have a podcast is exactly that, a podcast by some nerds, Nick, Alyse, and Alex. In it, we discuss nerdy media such as video games, movies, TV shows, and perhaps even a webcomic or two. Super original I know. But, if you're into that kind of thing, maybe give it a listen.
