Today, I am honored to welcome Dr. Christopher Davis, a triple-board-certified physician in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology, as well as a specialist in functional and regenerative medicine. He is also the Chief Cardiologist at Humann, a science-backed, plant-based heart health supplements company. In our discussion, Dr Davis and I explore why women's risk for heart disease accelerates after 40, how women's physiology and anatomy make them more prone to small vessel disease, the challenges of our current medical model, and the impact of toxins. Dr. Davis shares the labs and imaging modalities he prefers, and highlights the need for personalized medicine. We examine cardiomyopathies in women, where takotsubo or broken heart syndrome originates, and how declining nitric oxide production during perimenopause and menopause affects vascular health. We also cover research on GLP-1s and their impact, the significance of nitric oxide production, the importance of endothelial health, and the glycocalyx. Today's discussion is a must-listen for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of women's heart health in middle age. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN: Why women's heart disease risk accelerates after 40 How toxins and xenoestrogens contribute to vascular stress and metabolic disruption What advanced labs and imaging can reveal beyond traditional testing Why women's unique physiology makes them more vulnerable to small vessel disease How the glycocalyx and endothelial health protect the heart and circulation Why personalized medicine is essential Why cardiomyopathies like takotsubo are seen more frequently in women How nitric oxide production impacts vascular flexibility and overall cardiac health What research shows about the benefits of GLP-1s, beyond weight loss The value of the Goldilocks approach to supplements in personalized patient care Bio: Christopher Davis, MD, FACC Dr. Christopher Davis is triple board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology and is a specialist in functional medicine, bioidentical hormone replacement, and regenerative medicine. On the next episode of Redefining Health, we'll be joined by Christopher Davis to dive into the fascinating topic of metabolic health—what it truly means and how practitioners can effectively discuss it with their patients. Metabolic health is deeply tied to mitochondrial function, the "powerhouses" of our cells that drive energy production. When mitochondrial health is compromised, it can lead to a range of issues, from poor energy levels to chronic diseases. Factors such as oxidative stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, and environmental toxins all play a role in mitochondrial dysfunction. In this episode, we'll explore: What metabolic health really means and why it's essential for overall well-being. How practitioners can simplify the concept for patients and emphasize the importance of lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, and stress management. The role of VO2 Max as a powerful yet underutilized tool for assessing cardiovascular and metabolic health. VO2 Max, which measures the body's ability to utilize oxygen during exercise, is one of the best indicators of mitochondrial and cardiovascular health. Despite its value, it's not used enough in clinical practice. We'll discuss why this metric matters and how it can be integrated into patient care to provide a more comprehensive picture of health. Join us for this insightful conversation as we redefine what it means to achieve and maintain metabolic health.

Most people think heart disease is just about cholesterol. But what if the real issue is in your genes, your environment, and even your daily stress? In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Christopher Davis, a triple board-certified interventional cardiologist who's redefining what it means to take care of your heart. After years of performing stent procedures, he realized the conventional system was only treating symptoms, not causes. So he made a bold shift from reactive cardiology to a root-cause approach that blends advanced testing, functional medicine, detoxification, and even ancient healing wisdom. We discuss how genetics determine whether saturated fats help or harm you, why cholesterol itself isn't the enemy, and how inflammation and oxidative stress are the real threats to your arteries. If you've ever wondered why someone with perfect cholesterol can still have a heart attack, or why your stress levels matter just as much as your diet, this conversation will change how you think about cardiovascular health forever.Guest's website + socials:Website: https://revealvitality.com/christopher-davis/Instagram: @cjdavismdKayla's social + website:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kaylabarnes/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@femalelongevityTwitter: https://x.com/femalelongevity Website: https://www.kaylabarnes.com/Follow Her Female Protocol: https://www.protocol.kaylabarnes.com/Become a Member of Kayla's Female Longevity Membership: https://kayla-barnes-lentz.circle.so/checkout/become-a-member
In this episode, we head down to the humid backroads of Bishopville, South Carolina — a small town that, in the summer of 1988, became the epicenter of one of America's strangest and most terrifying cryptid encounters. It all began just after midnight on June 29, 1988. Seventeen-year-old Christopher Davis was driving home from work when a flat tire on a lonely stretch of road near Scape Ore Swamp changed his life forever. What he saw that night — a seven-foot-tall, red-eyed creature covered in scales — would ignite a media firestorm, terrify an entire community, and give birth to a legend that still haunts the South to this day.In this episode, we walk through the chilling events that followed Davis's encounter — from cars found mauled and bitten through their metal panels to dozens of frightened residents reporting the same thing: something alive in the swamp that shouldn't exist. You'll hear about the Ford owned by Tom and Mary Waye, covered in claw marks and bite impressions that defied explanation, and how Sheriff Liston Truesdale's investigation — including plaster casts of massive three-toed footprints — gave the mystery credibility it had never had before. We also dig into what came after. From the eerie silence that fell over Lee County in the years that followed, to the shocking 2008 attack on Bob and Dixie Rawson's van that reignited local fears. Then, we fast-forward to 2015, when a supposed church sighting made international headlines — and the 2017 solar eclipse, when the Lizard Man “returned” to social media with his own tongue-in-cheek Twitter account. But this episode isn't just about the headlines. We share never-before-heard witness accounts — from a nurse who stayed silent for thirty years, to a group of Marines whose encounter during night training was quietly buried by their commanding officers. We even touch on the tragic fate of Christopher Davis himself, whose 2009 murder left unanswered questions and an unsettling sense that the full truth of that night died with him. We'll explore the theories too — from cryptozoologists who link the Lizard Man to prehistoric reptiles like Carnufex carolinensis, to skeptics who blame misidentifications, hoaxes, or even environmental contamination. You'll hear from researchers, scientists, and folklorists who all offer their take on what really happened — and why this legend still holds power decades later. We also look at how the Lizard Man changed Bishopville forever.Once a quiet rural community, the town now proudly embraces its monster — from annual festivals and roadside attractions to a permanent exhibit in the South Carolina Cotton Museum. What started as fear became folklore, and eventually, a piece of Southern culture.T oday, the investigation continues with modern tools — from thermal drones to environmental DNA testing — as researchers try to solve a mystery that refuses to die. And with new sightings still being reported as recently as 2023, some wonder if the creature that terrorized Bishopville all those years ago never really left. This episode takes you into the heart of South Carolina's most enduring monster mystery — one that's part folklore, part fear, and part very real experience for those who lived through it.So, if you ever find yourself driving near Scape Ore Swamp after dark… remember Christopher Davis. Remember the red eyes in the darkness. And maybe, just maybe, change that tire in the daylight. Because once you hear this episode, you'll never look at a swamp the same way again.
The Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp In this episode, we dive deep into the swamps of South Carolina to explore the legendary Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp. We kick things off with the most famous encounter from 1988, when 17-year-old Christopher Davis was driving home from his McDonald's shift when his tire blew out near the swamp. What happened next became the stuff of local legend—a towering 7-8 foot tall creature with glowing red eyes, green scaly skin, and three-clawed fingers leaped onto his car as he desperately tried to escape. Davis's harrowing account, validated by a polygraph test and the local sheriff, sparked a media frenzy that drew everyone from Good Morning America to the Washington Post to this small South Carolina town. We explore multiple sightings from that intense summer of 1988, including terrified teenagers, mauled vehicles, mysterious three-toed footprints that baffled biologists, and even police officers who witnessed evidence firsthand. The footprint castings remain the most compelling physical evidence—14 inches long with three clawed toes that experts couldn't match to any known animal.
Larry McDonald doesn't mince words: “What we're seeing in the last 3 weeks across private credit, business development companies, subprime student loans is the closest thing that I have seen to 2007-2008. I think there is a major, major move happening in the financials. It's gonna be ugly.” He joins Sam Vadas to discuss the current economic headwinds facing investors. Hudson Value Partners' Christopher Davis later adds his market perspective and offers several under-the-radar stocks to watch headed into year end.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – https://twitter.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/schwab-network/About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about
