Time to debunk a myth that's been floating around for way too long. It's this idea that if you create something valuable, be it a service, a product, or initiative, your audience will somehow discover it on their own and beat a path to your door. Unfortunately, that's just not how it works. Especially not in the fast paced, saturated marketplaces we find ourselves in today, as business owners and CEOs. In my consulting work, I've been privileged enough to help social change companies, educational institutions, and nonprofits revolutionize their marketing and recruitment strategies. And here's what I've learned: It's never about throwing a message out into the void and hoping it sticks. It's all about “the ask”. So buckle up, because we're about to dive deep into what that ask really means. And why build it and they will come is a dangerous fallacy, and how you can employ real world strategies to make a real impact in your organization and the world. AI (Artificial Intelligence) and EI (Emotional Intelligence) are two terms that have become increasingly popular in recent years. AI is the ability of machines to interpret data, learn from it, and make decisions without direct human input. Emotional intelligence is the capacity for a person to recognize, understand, and manage their own emotions as well as the emotions of those around them. When discussing AI and EI, it's important to note that they are two separate concepts, but they can work together in harmony. AI is best used for tasks that require information processing, data analysis, and decision making using big data sets. Meanwhile, EI helps humans create meaningful connections with one another and understand the emotional consequences of their actions. In this podcast episode, I'm going to help you understand how to connect both EI and AI to get the exact result that you want from your marketing. As an entrepreneur who has seen extreme highs and the lowest of lows in the last 20 years, most, if not all of my most stressful moments have been rooted in the topic of money. I remember when I was in my late 20s, I was at a Vistage meeting, which is a local CEO network of seven figure and eight figure business owners. And there was a moving company owner who was a veteran. And he had said that during the Gulf invasion, jumping out of planes was actually less stressful than what he was currently experiencing and not being able to make payroll. That always stuck with me, as it was strangely reassuring that we all experienced that financial stress. I currently have the strongest business I've ever had financially. And that's mainly because I spent the first 15 years of being an entrepreneur, honestly, just trying to figure out the money part. And money is a hot topic right now. The stock market is about to go on sale, inflation is increasing, there's talks of layoffs at this time of recording. So today, I want to share with you my biggest lessons learned from my most favorite book called The Psychology of Money. Stick around to hear more. Sometimes, the hardest part of your journey is the most important. It shapes who you are today and allows you to grow in a way that would not have been possible otherwise. And now - you would never want to erase it from your history. My guest today had a similar experience. Today I was joined by Jamie Hess, Fitness & Lifestyle Expert. In the internet marketing world, we tend to be hyper focused on the front end and don't stop to think about the leaky back end until we get to a certain point where we realize that we are filling this bucket, and then all of the water is just pouring out of the bottom. This usually happens when you cross the six-figure mark and start creeping towards seven-figures. Today my guest was my very best friend, Shana Bresnahan, Community & Retention Strategist. She helps people with online programs, courses, memberships, group programs to enhance experience. Shana and I talked about: The philosophy she used to build her whole business What to do if people don't feel safe in a community Mistakes people make when creating a community Tune into this episode to hear about the strategies and tools Shana uses to fix those leaky buckets and how you can best use them to benefit your business. “Let's do the hardest thing that we can possibly do, and that is alternative protein.” -Dr. Rebecca Vaught Episode Description: As the pandemic sparks a global awareness in health and wellness, the alternative protein industry is emerging in the mainstream. Yet, the process of producing viable cultured meat products is intricate and costly. What if there is a technology that can meet these requirements and deliver a quality product at a significantly lower cost? Van Heron Labs, founded by Dr. Rebecca Vaught, offers breakthrough technology to solve this financial inefficiency. Culture media is a crucial step in creating alternative proteins. It's basically a cocktail of nutrients, electrolytes, peptones and other substances used to support the growth of microorganisms. After stem cells are isolated, they undergo differentiation in a culture medium where they receive essential nutrients for proliferation. The challenge comes when CPG Companies have to consider the cost and bio-efficiency needed for the process and accommodate large-scale production. But if this system can be customized, it's possible to reduce the price without sacrificing the quality. This is where Van Heron Labs comes in. In June 2020, Life Science Newswire said, “They [Van Heron Labs] have created a novel pipeline that utilizes genetic analysis to design a customized procedure for optimizing metabolism for a particular organism or cell, maximizing growth and product output.” Tune in to hear Dr. Vaught talk about the key aspects of Van Heron Labs' technology and its potential for the alternative protein industry. Connect with Dr. Rebecca: Dr. Rebecca Vaught is the Co-Founder of Van Heron Labs, a biotech company geared towards optimizing bio-performance. She named the company after her late mentor, James Van Heron. Van Heron Labs is the world's first commercial platform that channels multi-Omics data to match nutrient substrates to specific bio-system requirements for growth and functionality, resulting in minimum bio-input and maximizing bio-output for enhanced bio-productivity. Megan (who has a minor in Interior Design) earned her Masters of Professional Accountancy after falling in love with how numbers became so tidy within accounting systems. For her, it just clicked. But what she discovered when translating financial information to others is that they couldn’t see the picture in her head that the numbers created. So she needed to find ways to paint that picture for them, and Getting Your Money Right was born.
