In today's episode, David explains why he believes some well-intentioned Christian political advocates, notably in regard to the politics of abortion, have been taken captive by the empty traditions and philosophies of men that are “not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8). He says why he thinks enacting "righteous" statutes is not really the issue: It's far bigger than many Christians realize.Support the show: https://www.factennessee.org/donateSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How is it that Christ was "MADE unto us wisdom" and how does that affect our understanding of wisdom when it comes to political issues? Today, David uses 17th century theologian John Owen to help us understand the "why" and "how" of wisdom, and then applies that to the published political counsel of long-time pro-life apologist Scott Klusendorf against enacting legislation to indict abortive mothers for felony murder, championed by the Foundation to Abolish Abortion (FAA) and Christian podcaster, Seth Gruber.Support the show: https://www.factennessee.org/donateSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

His testimony supported pro-life legislation I had drafted to challenge Roe v. Wade. It is a critical primer on the relationship of common law to the forgotten Ninth Amendment, and their relationship to the Fourteenth Amendment's Due Process Clause. His testimony explains what the U.S. Supreme Court got wrong in justifying abortion. It is also the path forward for states to have the unborn declared a legal person with a right to life. It's Tuesday, March 17th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Timothy Reed Cuba is on verge of collapse Cuba, a communist country in the Western Hemisphere, is on the verge of collapse. Oil shipments to the island nation stopped three months ago and the nation's electric grid gave out over the weekend. Plus, the country's Gross Domestic Product, the total monetary value of all goods and services produced within a country's borders, slipped another 5% last year.  According to the United Nation's Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, communist Cuba has the worst GDP/capita in Latin America — barely reaching $1,000 per year. The worst economies in Latin America are communist Venezuela, communist Nicaragua, communist Cuba, and Haiti.  Cuba is ripest nation for spiritual revival Despite the economic doom and gloom, Cuba appears to be the ripest for spiritual revival of any nation in the world today.   The Baptists have reported a 40-fold increase in the number of churches since 1990.  One estimate puts the total number of Cuban believers at two million. That's about 20% of the population -- higher than membership in the communist party for the country. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus promised that “He would build His church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” 47% of Americans oppose the U.S.-Iranian war Americans continue to have mixed opinions about the Iran conflict. New polling averages, from Real Clear Politics, found that 44% of Americans support the war, while 47% oppose the fight.  Similarly, a Quinnipiac poll found that only 40% of Americans favor the war, with 53% in opposition. A whopping 74% of Americans are opposed to sending ground troops into the war, something the Trump administration has not ruled out.  Court allows naked men in women's spa The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has let stand a lower court ruling requiring a private spa, intended for women, to allow naked men to frequent the premises. The Washington State spa owners insisted this policy would be contrary to their Christian beliefs.  Thus far, at least five judges have filed dissents on the decision. 19% of employees at U.S. companies are foreign workers American corporations are hiring foreign workers like never before, recent numbers indicate 19.2% of their employees are foreign workers, up from 12% twenty years ago.  Another 10% of the U.S. workforce is also provided for by digital offshoring by organizations like Upwork. That makes almost a third of the U.S. workforce now provided for by foreigners. Pastor: If you're a Christian, don't live in sin with someone Megachurch pastor Josh Howerton of LakePointe Church in Dallas, Texas, challenged Christian couples to stop living in sin. HOWERTON: “The Bible is going to say things about marriage, sexuality and divorce that are very controversial to the world. My response to that is: ‘To who?' Because what the world says about marriage is controversial to Heaven. I would rather Heaven be pleased and the world say we're controversial than be applauded by the world and controversial before Heaven.” Pastor Howerton concluded his sermon with this challenge. HOWERTON: “You're living with somebody that's not your spouse. You're sleeping with somebody that's not your spouse. Or you've actually already started a family and had kids with somebody that's not your spouse. “And you, right now, are coming under the loving conviction of the Holy Spirit that you need to honor God, bend your knee to Jesus, put a ring on it, and enter into a covenant with a person that you're already acting like you're in a covenant with. “What I want you to know is we want to help you do that, because we got a little thing at Lakepoint. We say, ‘The only time we look down on people is to give them a hand up.' “So, here's what we want to do. We got a whole team of pastors. We are ready to have a mass wedding ceremony. I'm 100% serious. We got people. We're gonna walk with you, counsel you, help you, and then we're gonna get you married. We're gonna throw a big party. “And guess what? Your church family is not going to be doing. These people aren't going to be judging you. They're going to be cheering you on as you step forward into obedience to Jesus Christ.” Remarkably, following the sermon, 52 couples came forward and were married at the church a couple of weeks later. Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.'” Tennessee bill to abolish abortion died in committee A bill before the Tennessee State legislature that would have fully banned abortion was killed in the legislature's Health Subcommittee last week, reports the Nashville Banner. The bill would have criminalized abortion and given equal protection to the unborn under the law. However, the measure was actively opposed by both pro-abortion and pro-life groups, who argued the law was too strict.  Bradley Pierce, president of the Foundation to Abolish Abortion, stated, “I don't think it's merciful to tell women that they're allowed to murder their children. To those who say that having a blanket exemption for women is merciful, do you apply that to any other area of law?”  Similar bills have been introduced, both in Democratic and Republican states, and thus far, none have passed.  Proverbs 24:11 admonishes us to “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.” Christian apologist shares Christ on popular podcast Apologist Wes Huff clearly explained the Gospel of Jesus Christ to entrepreneur Steven Bartlett on Bartlett's “Diary of a CEO” podcast — among the top podcasts in the world. In fact, 3 million people listen per episode. BARTLETT: “If I sin in my life, do I go to hell?” HUFF:  “Here's the thing: everybody is going to hell. Everybody. The Bible is very clear. All good people go to Heaven, but Jesus said, ‘No one is good but God alone.' So, if all good people go to Heaven, and no one is good but God alone, only God is in Heaven.” BARTLETT: “Mmm.” HUFF:  “So, Christianity says you're not going to be able to do, feel or think good enough. Compared to God, you're always going to fall short. Be perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect, is what Scripture says. That's an impossible standard. “The message of the Bible, the reason why it's called the Gospel, the Good News, is because of the bad news. The bad news is you're dead in your sins and trespasses and you can't save yourself. Jesus, as the second Person of the Trinity, steps off of His throne in eternity, comes into humanity, and He pays the penalty of the sin that you deserve.” Romans 3:23 gives us the bad news. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And Romans 5:8 gives us the Good News. "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Oscars awarded to foul-mouthed, immoral R-rated movies And finally, the 98th Academy Award ceremonies awarded more R-rated movies with top prizes again this year. One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, took the Best Picture award — a film celebrating revolution, killing ICE agents, and murdering pro-life legislators.  It played with moral ambiguity and satire, while encouraging revolutionary activity in society. Sadly, the film, which features the most obscene word 135 times and the Lord's name used in vain 20 times, garnered six Oscars. Another R-rated movie, Sinners, collected four more Oscars. The film glorified demonism, African animism, murderers, adulterers, and hoodoo witches, while condemning Christianity for its alleged legalism and white oppression. Sinners features the Lord's name taken in vain 11 times. I John 2:15-17 says, “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father, but from the world.  The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, March 17th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. Studio Sponsor: Cardio Miracle - "Unlock the secret to a healthier heart, increased energy levels, and transform your cardiovascular fitness like never before.": CardioMiracle.com/TBNS For years, the pro-life movement pushed for Roe to be overturned. Now that it has, abortion numbers haven't dropped—they've actually climbed. Mail-order abortion pills, state loopholes, and travel networks have made it easier than ever for abortion to continue in “pro-life” states. Bradley Pierce from the Foundation to Abolish Abortion joins me to break down the facts and expose the truth the media won't cover. We cut through the flimsy narratives—“clump of cells,” “parasite,” “women dying in the streets”—and replace them with clarity. This episode shows how equal protection under the law has been intentionally avoided and why real change requires more than half-measures. Bradley explains why the term abolition—not regulation—gets to the heart of the fight. But this isn't just about policy. It's about messaging, persuasion, and connecting with people emotionally. We talk about why words matter—like using “murder” or “abolition”—and how emotional truth can break through the noise, plant seeds of doubt in pro-abortion arguments, and change hearts and minds. If you've ever wondered what's really happening after Roe, how abortion still thrives in “red” states, and what the pro-life movement must do differently, you cannot afford to miss this conversation. Here at MinistryWatch we are energized by the pro-life issue. I've been writing about the pro-life issue myself for more than 40 years, and John Stonestreet and I included a chapter on the life issue in our book Restoring All Things. The MinistryWatch 1000 database includes a category for pro-life organizations, and I would personally encourage all of our listeners to get active in local pro-life organizations. I would also encourage you to make the life issue a part of your giving priorities. That said, I've also noticed that all is not well in the pro-life ecosystem. There is much infighting and disagreement over priorities. Those who have placed their trust in politics have had to contend with the reality that the number of abortions in America have actually gone up since the Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade. On the other hand, those who have ignored politics have had no part in the pro-life victories that we have seen in at least 14 states. On today's program I unpack some of these issues with someone who calls himself an “abortion abolitionist.” Bradley Pierce is a constitutional attorney who has drafted legislation in more than 30 states supporting self-defense and parental rights, as well as civil liberties and the right to life. He leads the Foundation to Abolish Abortion and is the executive producer of the video series “Abortion Free,” which you can find on YouTube. He spoke to me via zoom from his office near Austin, Texas. Thanks for joining us today. The producer for today's program is Jeff McIntosh. Until next time, may God bless you.

It's Monday, June 17th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Five Christian sanitation workers died in Pakistan of inhaling toxic gases Five Christian sanitation workers in Pakistan have died since June 11th from inhaling toxic gases, highlighting how they are forced to work without proper safety equipment, reports Morning Star News. Irfan Masih, Ratan Masih, and Babar Masih succumbed on June 12th to the poisonous gases while cleaning a sewer disposal well in the Satellite Town of Bhalwal in the Punjab Province. A fourth Christian worker, Naeem Masih, was in critical condition at Sargodha District Headquarters Hospital. In Sindh Province, two Christians Yunus Hidayat and Yunus Masih, and a Hindu, Badal Gujrati, died on June 11th after they inhaled toxic gases. The tragedy in Punjab Province struck when a supervisor forced the workers to enter a well without proper safety equipment. Families of the deceased workers later staged a protest by placing the workers' bodies in front of the Bhalwal municipal office. The protesters demanded Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif order an inquiry and take action against those responsible for the deaths. They also demanded the government provide safety equipment to sewer workers, lamenting that dozens have died due to toxic gases without any action taken to address the dangers. Sikandar Farman, a Christian who was formerly a member of the Bhalwal Municipal Committee, said, “Our brothers continue to die in manholes. but their deaths have failed to move the government. How many more lives will it take for the authorities to understand the plight of these workers?” Matthew 7:12 says, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." Sadly, in Pakistan, Christians are considered second-class citizens, referred to as the Dalits, untouchable members of social groups that have historically been marginalized in the caste society. Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, makes first appearance since Christmas Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, was seen for the first time this year as she attends Trooping the Colour, a military parade celebrating the birthday of King Charles III, reports Britain's Metro paper. A 41-gun salute takes place in Green Park and King Charles is then joined by members of the Royal family on the balcony of the palace as they watch a spectacular flyover courtesy of the Royal Air Force's Red Arrows.  (Watch a 20-second video) The Princess of Wales has not been seen in public since Christmas Day of last year as she underwent abdominal surgery before then starting cancer treatment. In an update on her recovery, Middleton said, “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.” Armed civilian defended herself against thugs Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on May 21 at a Walmart in Auburn, Washington, reports Fox13 Seattle. At around 3:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of an attempted robbery inside the parking lot.  The 53-year-old victim was sitting in her car overnight when two people approached her with guns, demanding her property. She then pulled out her own gun and shot at them. The suspects shot back, injuring her.  When the police arrived, they found the victim and treated her at the scene. Though she is suffering from a single gunshot wound, she is expected to recover fully. The Auburn Police Department released one of their trained police dogs who tracked and located the two suspects who were brought into custody. FBI's suspicious claims about dramatic drop in crime On June 13th, The Worldview reported that the FBI documented a dramatic drop in crime. The federal agency claimed that in the first quarter of this year there was a 26.4% drop in murders, a 25.7% drop in rapes, a 17.8% drop in robberies, a 12.5% drop in aggravated assaults, and a 15% drop in property crimes. However, after The Worldview did some additional research, we discovered that the FBI statistics are incomplete at best. That's according to John Lott, the president of the nonprofit Crime Prevention Research Center who held a brief role in the Dept. of Justice under former President Donald Trump. He said, “It's just a small portion of the issue. The reason why we have the National Crime Victimization Survey [an annual survey conducted by the Dept. of Justice] is because we know most crimes are not reported to police." Lott said those statistics make up less than 45% of the violent crimes that are committed in the U.S. and only 32% of property crimes. Victims are not reporting incidents as often because they don't believe anyone will be punished. He claimed that only 8% of total violent crimes in cities result in arrest, and the number is even smaller for property crimes. Lott explained that there are multiple underlying issues. There are fewer experienced officers on the streets, fewer police reports are being made, crime victims are not going down to the station to fill out forms, and — perhaps most significantly — certain reporting standards have changed. For instance, if a felony assault was pleaded down to a misdemeanor in court, it would not be included in the FBI's data. In addition, as the Heritage Foundation documented, the George Soros-funded rogue District Attorneys across America are soft on crime, refusing to prosecute many criminals at all.  That also would lead to a misleading, false drop in crime. Clarification on Texas abortion statistics On June 6th, The Worldview reported that the Texas abortion ban went into effect after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022.  While we noted that Texas reported 67 abortions the following month and 3 abortions the month after that, compared to an average of 6,000 abortions per month the year before, we should have clarified that those were surgical abortions. Sadly, the “kill pill” abortifacient can be legally ordered through the mail and a Texas mother can murder her pre-born child at any time in Texas.  Those chemical abortions are not documented nor reported to the state, as noted by the Foundation to Abolish Abortion. While some states might claim that they are “Abortion Free” due to their ban on surgical abortions after Roe v. Wade was overturned, too many mothers are aborting their babies chemically with the Abortion Kill Pill known as mifepristone. In fact, 63% of mothers who abort today are aborting chemically. Check out the 3-minute trailer for a 5-part docuseries entitled “Abortion Free”  through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. Listen to this soundbite. “ABORTION FREE TRAILER: “The crazy reality is in these states that say they're ‘abortion free' now abortion has never been easier. I could abort my baby in any of the 50 states.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” By the way, for a $25 donation to the producers of the 5 episodes, you can watch them. Indiana donor loves our use of Scripture connected to the news To help fund The Worldview newscast for another year, one anonymous donor in South Bend, Indiana generously gave $2,000! When I called him up, this is what he said. SOUTH BEND, INDIANA DONOR: “At the end of the day, what we really appreciate is the world news in a concise Christian worldview. And then also there's, there's normally an uplifting story where most news, it's all doom and gloom. “We really enjoyed the uplifting story of the father and the sons that flipped over while kayaking, and when it seemed like the father lost all hope, reached his hand out, and the guy on the jet ski saved his life.” McMANUS: “At the end of that story, I wrote, “No doubt, the father echoes the sentiment of Psalm 9:1: “I will give thanks to You, Lord, with all my heart, I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds” because, as a Christian, I believe that God supernaturally intervened and used those two men to help save the father and the sons from drowning in the Colorado River. Do you appreciate our use of Scripture like that?” SOUTH BEND, INDIANA DONOR: “Absolutely! It's very unusual in day-to-day life for a Scripture verse to be used in real life. My unfortunate experience is church is something we do on Sunday and doesn't apply to our life -- Monday through Saturday. “I go back to one of my bosses. He said, ‘We're a big company. Is that really appropriate to do religion in it?' And I said, ‘Yeah, the number one reason somebody gets fired here is perjury. Thou should not lie. The number two reason is probably sexual harassment. Thou shalt not commit adultery. The third reason is there are bad actors in our company that have stolen. Thou shall not steel. And I know that there's a lot of my peers that are coveting other positions. If we were teaching the Scripture, that it applies to our daily life, that would solve most of our issues.'” McMANUS: “And what did he say?” SOUTH BEND, INDIANA DONOR: “He was silent.” 26 Worldview listeners gave $10,520 As you know, The Worldview is in the middle of our annual fundraising campaign through the end of June. While I originally indicated that our goal was $114,200, I was mistaken.  The goal is just 5% more than last year's goal of $80,000 which would bring the 2024 goal to $84,000. That would provide the resources necessary to fund our 6-member newscast team. Toward our readjusted mid-point goal, we needed to have raised a total of $42,000 by Saturday night, June 15th.  Providentially, 26 Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate. Our thanks to Kristina in Olympia, Washington who gave $20 as well as Jena in Templeton, California, Lavern in Rockingham, Virginia, Tim in Rosemount, Minnesota, and Robin in Wellington, Florida – each of whom gave $25. We appreciate Christina in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania and Bethany in Austin, Texas – both of whom gave $50. We're grateful to Richard in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Eric in Denver, Colorado, Max in Cordova, Illinois, Amanda in Lacey, Washington, David in Boerne, Texas, and Susan in Hoyt, Kansas – each of whom gave $100. We thank God for Amanda in Savannah, Georgia who gave $200, Marlowe in Freetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada who gave $250, as well as Carlee in Keswick Ridge, New Brunswick, Canada and Shelly in Eagle, Idaho – both of whom pledged $25/month for 12 months for a gift of $300 each. We honor the sacrifice of Zephaniah in Lomax, Illinois who gave $500 as well as Benton in  Kingwood, Texas, Bill in Lees Summit, Missouri, and Donald in  Mason, Wisconsin – each of whom pledged $50/month for 12 months for a gift of $600 each. And we were touched by an anonymous donor in Bardstown, Kentucky who gave $750, Shane in Columbia City, Indiana, Rick and Shannan in Alexandria, Minnesota, and Curtis in Raleigh, North Carolina – each of whom pledged $100 per month for 12 months for a gift of $1,200 each as well as an anonymous donor in South Bend, Indiana who gave $2,000. Those 26 donors gave $10,520.  Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (sound effect of drum roll) $39,155 (audience cheering) That means we came within $2,845 of reaching our readjusted midpoint goal.  Can you help us close the gap? We just need one person to pledge $100 per month for 12 months, 2 people to pledge $50 per month for 12 months, 1 person to pledge $25/month for 12 months, and 1 person to give a one-time gift of $145 to close the gap. Many Christians would claim to be pro-life. But a growing movement of Christians called abortion abolitionists believe that simply being pro-life isn't enough, putting them at odds with the traditional, mainstream pro-life movement. So, what's the difference between the pro-life and abolitionist movements? Today, Keith finds out when he talks with one of the best representatives of the abolitionist movement, Bradley Pierce. Bradley is a constitutional lawyer in Texas and part of the Foundation to Abolish Abortion. You'll hear him define the abolitionist movement and explain where he believes the pro-life movement has compromised their cause. He'll share his disagreements with pro-life leadership and whether or not he believes there should ever be any exceptions for abortion. Plus, should mothers really be criminalized for abortions, and what are the problems with giving the government that much power? Could the abortion abolitionist movement unintentionally lead to more abortions due to its extreme views? Listen now! Today we're joined by Bradley Pierce, president of the Foundation to Abolish Abortion and VP of Heritage Defense, to discuss the abortion abolitionist movement and what it broadly believes. First we explain what some of the differences might be between abolitionists and pro-lifers, one of which is that abolitionists largely believe in criminal charges for a woman who gets an abortion. We discuss what justice for abortions might look like and how to balance impartiality and compassion for those misled by the media and the abortion industry. While it may seem like abortion abolitionists and pro-lifers are on the same side, much abolition legislation has been struck down by the pro-life camp – why is this, and what other criticisms of the pro-life movement exist from the other side? Abolitionists also don't believe in abortion restrictions, such as heartbeat bills, unless they are full bans (and in some cases have other qualifications). We discuss this rejection of incrementalism and ask what the proposals are that replace this method of fighting abortion. Will abolition legislation put women at risk who have had miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies, and why do abolitionists attack pro-lifers online? We cover these questions and more. --- Timecodes: (01:11) What is abortion abolitionism? (11:10) Partiality & compassion to those misled (17:17) Do pro-lifers give into the pro-choice view?
