We've been dancing around this topic now for almost 2 years, but today we are here! Today we are gonna dig into Miles Davis….  His songs and albums  have come up in so many different episodes we have done.  And rightfully so, because he is a giant of music and his DNA is in a lot of the music we listen to today.  But we knew if we were gonna try and tackle the task of trying to create a list of our favorite Miles Davis songs that we needed to have a super special guest to help us.  And fortunately for all you folks out there, we were able to find just the right person to join us to discuss all our Favorite Miles Davis recordings.Special Guest: Adam FalconHe is a singer and songwriter from New York and has worked with Roberta Flack, Marcus Miller, Nona Hendryx, Steve Jordan, Phyllis Hyman, Sophie B. Hawkins, The Village People, Jim Lauderdale, Robert Palmer and the list goes on. In addition to his own wealth of experience and stories, Adam also has a profound connection with Miles Davis, which is why we've asked him on the show today. www. adamfalcon.comwww.therightfiction.comSpotify Playlist "Favorite Miles Davis Recordings"

From 2010: even if you haven’t heard of guitarist Adam Falcon before, I can tell you he’s been a familiar face around some pretty familiar names: George Benson recorded a couple of his songs, for example. He also worked with two more of my favorites, the late great Rick James and Robert Palmer. And Adam was discovered at age 15 when he snuck into The Fillmore East to watch Sly & The Family Stone.

This Election Day has passed but others are soon to come. The Reform Party, chaired by activist Curtis Sliwa, presented Ramapo - reputedly one of the most corrupt towns in America - with a multi-party, multi-gender, multi-racialticket and a platform that could be a model for our divided nation. Singer-songwriter Adam Falcon balances the show with signature emotional musical offerings.

In my head, the introduction to today’s show with blues/rock/jazz guitarist Adam Falcon goes something like this: Blah, blah, blah – including live performances by Adam – blah, blah, blah! ADAM FALCON audio excerpt: "Just continue to practice and enjoy what you're doing." And then out loud I would say: The first time Adam Falcon was on the show was a lot of fun. I love his music, his guitar style and his general approach to life. He recently got in touch to say he’d be coming to Florida – Miami, to be exact, and he offered to play a few songs live for us to help promote his shows on January 13 and 14 as part of Art Deco Weekend 2012.   Deriving from the city of New York, in the borough of The Bronx, Adam Falcon is a guitarist, singer/songwriter whose music is rooted in the blues and early soul. Digesting early sounds of Fats Domino, Aretha Franklin and B.B. King.HFalcon became heavily inspired by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Hal David & Burt Bacharach, Sly & The Family Stone, Smokey Robinson, and the great writers for Motown. As a teenager, he played in countless bars and clubs throughout the city with numerous bands. At 17, he'd written his first song for the legendary jazz guitarist George Benson, but being too shy to present the song, it wasn't until 10 years later that the late, iconic music producer, Arif Mardin, heard the song and decided to have Benson record it for Warner Brothers Records. That song is called "In Search Of A Dream" from the Grammy nominated album "In Your Eyes." At the age of 21, Falcon embarked on a national tour, playing for an act, opening for the Bee Gees. Some of the artists that he's worked and/or shared the stage with are Roberta Flack, Sophie B. Hawkins, Whitney Houston, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Jim Lauderdale, Robert Palmer, Phyllis Hyman, Peter Gabriel, and Nona Hendryx. "Either recording an album for The Village People or playing with Jonathan Butler on The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson, it was one big musical trip" The Light Shines is Adam Falcon's most recent effort. The EP, released in 2015, marks his fifth recording to date.

Our commentary this week touched base on the nonsense political "debate" going down with the Debt Ceiling in the U.S., sad passings of various people in entertainment - Amy Winehouse (R&B/Soul Singer), Jazz Songwriter, Artist, & Producer Gene McDaniels & sports promoter Butch Lewis), the new drug test that can find out what people are taking via their fingerprints, an interview done by CultureVI.com with Hip-Hop MC Wale & his bugged out comments about age with understanding good music and a bunch of other diverse topics here and there. This week we had a mini-interview with author Richard C. Francis about his latest book, "Epigenetics: The Ultimate History of Inheritance". We touched base the study of Epigenetics -on how genetic traits aren't only passed on & altered by one's ancestors but affected - positively and negatively - by the environment (air we breathe, what we eat, etc.). This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of July 13, 2011 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary. Our commentary this week touched base on the "News of the World" phone tapping scandal involving Rupert Murdoch & his various companies (including Fox News under News Corp.) & what that means for media internationally, the recent CBS news story talking about the recession affecting Black America more then mainstream America on all economic levels, the weird story about the CIA doing a fake vaccination drive to get the Bin Laden family's DNA, the passing of producer/songwriter Alphonso "Fonce" Mizell & it's importance in Hip-Hop, Soul, Jazz & Funk Music, Sean (a.k.a Diddy, a.k.a Puff Daddy, etc.) Combs saying he's not going to perform as an artist anymore, the Black Eyed Peas breaking up, bad relationships via a story about a California women cutting off her husband's "member" & tossing it in a garbage disposal and a bunch of other diverse topics here and there. There are brand new Black Agenda Report, Black University Radio Network's Direct EFX and Free Press "Media Minutes" mini-segments on this week's episode.
