Championed by legends like Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, and Joe Bonamassa, her powerful songwriting and distinct vocals first captivated audiences with here 2009 debut, White Sugar. Over the years, Joanne has released numerous acclaimed albums, including the UK Top 20 hit Reckless Heart and the #1 Billboard Blues Chart toppers The Blues Album and Blues From The Heart Live. Her most recent studio album, Heavy Soul, launced under Bonamassa's Journeyman Record earlier this year.
If you are a musician and have a stamp of approval from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, and blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa—odds are good things are coming your way. Thus is the case of our latest guest on the Load Out Music Podcast: British-born blues rocker Joanne Shaw Taylor, who released her latest album, Heavy Soul, this past June. Taylor's new record, Heavy Soul, dropped June 7, through Joe Bonamassa's Journeyman Records. It was produced by Kevin Shirley who is known for his work with the Black Crowes, Journey, and Aerosmith. The album infuses Taylor's blues origins, blending contemporary soul-pop with traditional blues; and its title track delves into emotional struggles with powerful lyrics and stirring melodies. Ultimately, Taylor's focused on trying to ensure her sound is fresh album-after album while still maintaining her unique signature style. “When I look back on my catalogue of work, hopefully when I'm 170-years-old,” she noted with a laugh. “I want every album to be different…I want them all to sound like the same artist. Does it sound like me? I'm not going to put out a rockabilly album. And also, how do I keep it fresh for myself?” Enjoy a terrific chat with the amazingly talented Joanne Shaw Taylor on the latest episode of The Load Out Music Podcast.

Joanne Shaw Taylor was discovered by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics at the age of 16 who, having watched her play, immediately invited her on the road with his supergroup D.U.P. – a career in music was born and in the preceding years, her incredible guitar playing saw her build an army of plaudits including Jimmy Cliff, Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Wonder and Annie Lennox.Over the past two decades, Joanne has proven herself as a prolific songwriter, releasing seven acclaimed albums under her belt, each increasingly more successful with her 2019 “Reckless Heart” breaking into the UK Top 20 Album Chart and cementing herself as one of the most important exports in British blues-rock.Her latest album, (released 10/28/22) was recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, is produced by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith and features Joe Bonamassa on “Won't Be Fooled Again,”Watch this exclusive interview with The Trout with Joanne Taylor Shaw.https://www.joanneshawtaylor.com/https://www.thetroutshow.com/Thanks for listening for more information or to listen to other podcasts or watch YouTube videos click on this link >https://thetroutshow.com/

Welcome to Roadcase!! We're delighted to have Joanne Shaw Taylor on the show this week. Joanne is an extraordinary blues guitarist and vocalist who was originally discovered by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics when she was just 16 years old -- and she's essentially been on the road shredding guitar ever since. Joanne grew up in the Midlands region of the UK and built her guitar lexicon based on American blues and rock artists -- Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Freddie King, B.B. King, among others, and has become one of the most sought-after guitarists in Blues Rock. Her latest album, Nobody's Fool, is out now and earlier this year, she released a live recording entitled Blues From The Heart Live, partnered with a concert film of the performance. The live album was her second Billboard No. 1 record, matching the mark of her 2021 release, The Blues Album, which previously went to the top of the Billboard Blues chart. Joanne is on a serious roll right now and chatted with Josh about her amazing background and the long journey to where she is today. So jump on the Roadcase bus for this special interview with Joanne Shaw Taylor. It's gonna be a great ride!!
