Our Parsha contains some of the most difficult portions in the Torah, the Admonition. Our nation is told of the consequences of failing to adhere to the rules of God. The consequences are fierce and harsh. When this section is read in the synagogue, it is done quickly and in an undertone to prevent the congregation from lapsing into depression. But the Admonition ends on a comforting note: God promises to remember the covenant that He forged with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Notwithstanding our intransigent behavior and our betrayal of God, He pledges to ensure that we endure come what may. This podcast orients around a fascinating peculiarity in this comforting note. We discover the unique role that Jacob plays in our history, the difference between his Jacob and Israel personas, and his connection with Elijah, the heralder of redemption.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. Guest speaker Kevin Folger examines Paul's letter to the Philippians, highlighting the church's struggle with contention and the call to unity through humility. Drawing from Christ's example, the sermon emphasizes living worthy of the gospel, standing firm in faith, and prioritizing others over self. Through practical illustrations, the message challenges believers to work together in advancing the gospel and remain accountable in their walk with Christ.Eastland is a Place to Belong Eastland Baptist Church is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On the day after his Resurrection, the Savior appeared to those who knew him best during his mortal ministry—Mary Magdalene, Cleopas, ten of the apostles, and many other followers. While they saw him physically, they did not recognize him. Instead, they mistook him for a gardener, stranger, passing traveler, and even another prophet, as they misunderstood his role as the Redeemer of Israel or the promised Messiah. Rather than rebuking them, the Savior and ministering angels worked to correct their mistaken expectations by teaching them the true identity of Christ. In this episode, Professor Krystal V. L. Pierce describes how the Resurrected Savior opens the spiritual eyes and minds of his followers and disciples, in ancient and modern times, through visual, audible, and tangible signs and teachings. By learning to identify the spiritual nature of the Savior, we can prepare to see him physically in the Second Coming. Manmohan Singh was an appointed Prime Minister, not an elected one. A wise economist, he was aware of his limitations. Notwithstanding, his tenure in public office was eventful: liberalisation of the Indian economy, Indo-US nuclear deal, devaluation of Indian rupee, and conversations with Pakistan's Musharraf. In Episode 1581 of Cut The Clutter, Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta recalls his interactions with Dr Singh—filled with candor, intellect, and wisdom.----more----Watch Walk the Talk with Dr Manmohan Singh's here: https://www.ndtv.com/video/walk-the-talk-with-dr-manmohan-singh-aired-february-2004-360298----more----Read Walk the Talk with Dr Manmohan Singh's transcript here: https://theprint.in/walk-the-talk/bjp-never-believed-in-reform-what-ex-pm-manmohan-singh-said-in-2004/2285419/----more----Watch Walk the Talk with PV Narsimha Rao's here: https://www.ndtv.com/video/walk-the-talk-p-v-narasimha-rao-296375----more----Read Walk the Talk with PV Narsimha Rao's transcript here: https://theprint.in/walk-the-talk/this-secret-will-perish-with-me-when-narasimha-rao-was-asked-if-india-delayed-nuclear-test/1961746/
Main idea: The Christian life is regularly growing in our giving, our serving, and our loving one another for the expansion of the church and the glory of God. 1. Money and the church of God (1-4) 2. Teachers and the mission of God (5-12) 3. Admonition and the love of God (13-14) 4. Maturity and the servants of God (15-18) 5. Vision and the grace of God (19-24) Discussion Questions: 1. Paul mentions Timothy and encourages the church to receive him warmly. What does this tell us about the importance of hospitality and support within the church? 2. Based on v.13, In what areas of life do you think Christians today need to be watchful? 3. What does it look like to stand firm in today's world? 4. How does love serve as a foundation for the relationships among believers, according to this passage?

How would you describe God's story as contained in the Bible? 4. Read 21:1-8 and 22:12-13. Discuss how we as believers should live in the present in anticipation of this our eternal destiny.5. How has Ken's foray through the books of the Bible strengthened your understanding of and commitment to His word?MISSION HIGHLIGHT - Pray for the Unreached: The Brahmin in India The Brahmins, historically a priestly and influential caste in India, continue to hold high social status, though many now pursue modern professions instead of traditional religious roles. Changes in India's economy and education are reshaping caste dynamics, but less than 0.1% of Brahmins are Christians. Hinduism is the primary religion among the Brahmin, and an estimated 700 workers are needed to reach the nearly 35 million Brahmin in India. Pray that they recognize their true priestly identity in Jesus and embrace the joy of serving Him. Pray that servant leaders are brought up within the Brahmin, who draw all castes to Jesus. Pray that Scripture finds its way into their homes and hearts, helping them lead others into the presence and security of Christ.FinancesWeekly Budget 35,297Giving For 11/17 47,080Giving For 11/124 25,843YTD Budget 741,646 Giving 651,395 OVER/(UNDER) (89,845) Read Through The Bible - Today we finish “ A Survey of the Bible” with Revelation. Welcome to this special episode of China Compass, the third in a weekly series of shorter podcasts which I am calling “The Prison Pulpit”. I'm your China travel guide, Missionary Ben. You can follow me on X (@chinaadventures) where (among other things) I share a new prefecture, city and/or county to pray for daily. Visit Pray for China dot us (PrayforChina.us) to learn more. If you want to see the missionary books I’ve published and learn more about our work, you can find links to everything @ PrayGiveGo.us! Between now and the end of the year I am working through some of the writings of currently imprisoned Chinese pastor, Wang Yi, of Early Rain Covenant Church in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, which were published just after his arrest in December of 2018. One book that will be helpful in this series is my little autobiographical work, Unbeaten, which details my arrest, interrogation, and deportation from China in 2018. At the end of the book, I included an appendix entitled Remember My Chains, which is basically the manuscript (notes) from a message I have given dozens of times around the country dealing with this very topic: remembering and praying for the persecuted church, especially in China. You can get the book, Unbeaten, including the sermon, Remember My Chains, at Unbeaten dot vip. For the entire commission God has given me is to let more Chinese people know through my actions that the hope of humanity and society is only in the redemption of Christ, in the supernatural, gracious sovereignty of God. If God decides to use the persecution of this Communist regime against the church to help more Chinese people to despair of their futures, to lead them through a wilderness of spiritual disillusionment and through this to make them know Jesus, if through this he continues disciplining and building up his church, then I am joyfully willing to submit to God’s plans, for his plans are always benevolent and good.”

An Admonition to the Church: be on guard lest anyone carry you away as loot or booty. The Menace to the Church is the demonic force that is seeking to carry you away. The Method is deceit - persuasive words in the form of religious ideas or behavior and The Mistake is thinking that you will not be deceived or that the deceit will be obvious/overtly wrong. James 5:1–6 || An Admonition as Condemnation || Josh King by Meridian Church
Psalm 81 is a rich and evocative chapter in the Book of Psalms, often attributed to Asaph, a prominent Levite singer and seer during the time of King David. This psalm is a call to worship and a reminder of God's deliverance, provision, and commandments. Structure and Content Psalm 81 can be divided into three main sections: 1.Call to Worship (Verses 1-5): The psalm begins with an exuberant call to worship, inviting the congregation to sing, shout for joy, and play musical instruments in celebration of God's goodness. This section emphasizes the communal aspect of worship and the importance of remembering God's acts of salvation. The specific reference to the New Moon and the Full Moon suggests that this psalm may have been used in the context of festival celebrations, particularly those outlined in the Torah. •Verses 1-3: “Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre. Sound the ram's horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival.” •Verses 4-5: These verses highlight that this practice is a decree for Israel and an ordinance of the God of Jacob. It reminds the Israelites of their deliverance from Egypt, a theme that resonates throughout the psalm. 2.God's Voice and Remembrance (Verses 6-10): In this section, the psalm transitions to God's voice, reminding Israel of His past deeds, especially the liberation from Egypt. God recounts how He relieved the burdens of Israel and responded to their cries for help. This passage serves as both a reminder of God's faithfulness and a call for Israel to listen and obey. •Verses 6-7: God speaks of removing the burden from the shoulders of Israel and freeing their hands from the basket. When they called out in distress, God rescued them and tested them at the waters of Meribah. •Verses 8-10: These verses are a direct address from God, imploring Israel to listen and not to worship foreign gods. He reaffirms His identity as the Lord their God who brought them out of Egypt and urges them to open their mouths wide so He can fill them, symbolizing His readiness to provide abundantly for their needs. 3.Admonition and Promise (Verses 11-16): The final section of Psalm 81 contains both a lament from God regarding Israel's disobedience and a promise of blessings if they return to Him. God expresses sorrow over Israel's refusal to listen and their tendency to follow their own counsel. Nevertheless, He holds out a promise of deliverance and prosperity if they repent and obey His commands. •Verses 11-12: God's lament that His people did not listen to His voice and how He gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices. •Verses 13-16: A poignant plea for Israel to return to God, promising that if they do, He will subdue their enemies and turn His hand against their foes. The final verse promises the finest of wheat and honey from the rock, symbolizing the abundant blessings and provision God is willing to bestow upon a faithful Israel. Themes and Messages 1.Worship and Remembrance: The psalm underscores the importance of worship and remembrance of God's past deeds as foundational to the faith community. Through worship, the Israelites recall their identity and covenant relationship with God. 2.Divine Provision and Deliverance: The recounting of the exodus from Egypt serves as a powerful reminder of God's ability to save and provide for His people, encouraging trust and obedience. 3.Obedience and Consequences: The psalm clearly articulates the blessings associated with obedience and the consequences of disobedience. God's lament over Israel's stubbornness highlights the pain of their rebellion but also His enduring desire for their return. 4.God's Abundant Blessings: The promises of provision, protection, and abundance underscore God's generosity and readiness to bless His people if they remain faithful. Psalm 81 thus serves as a profound reminder of the relationship between worship, obedience, and divine blessing, calling the faithful to remember God's past acts, listen to His commands, and trust in His provision.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

On today's re-release of a previous solo show, we are tackling the topic of how to raise your littles in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. My prayer is that you'll come away from this episode feeling equipped and encouraged, knowing that raising your littles in this way does not have to be complicated. What I Chat about in Today's Episode: ~Ephesians 6:4 and what is interesting about the word "nurture" coming before the word "admonition" ~The crucial foundation of nurture and why our training of our children in theology and right living must first come from a place of humility, tenderness, care, patience, gentleness, slowness, and nurture ~What we can learn from bamboo about the importance of having a strong foundation and why it is ok when our training takes a while ~The negative impact that raising children up legalistically, overly strictly, or in a domineering way can have on children ~How raising our children up in the tender nurture of the Lord gives them a more accurate picture of who their Heavenly Father is ~How failing to raise your children first in the nurture of the Lord can lead to your provoking them to wrath ~What raising our children up in the admonition of the Lord can look like practically on an everyday basis (as we're shown in Deuteronomy 6:6-7) ~Why the theological training of our children need not be complicated and instead can and should be simple - thereby showing them how applicable, relevant, and practical God's Word is to every aspect of our everyday lives ~The importance of refusing to overly shelter our children but to instead prepare them well for real life in age appropriate ways ~Why we want to raise our children not to be mere yes-men, but to instead be able to think for themselves, be critical thinkers, and interpret God's Word for themselves, applying it to every situation in life ~Equipping our children to have a faith of their own rather than piggy backing off ours, so that when we are one day not here, they will still be able to stand firm ~Practical books, media, practices, and other resources to aid you in your parenting and raising your children in the admonition of the Lord ~The power and importance of having lots of gospel conversations with your kids (and examples of some of the types of conversations we regularly have in our home) ~And more!
