Brenna MacMillan, originally from Winchester, Kentucky, began playing banjo at the age of nine. She has performed frequently in the Lexington area, which led to opening for J.D. Crowe and Bobby Osborne. Attending Berea College, Brenna played with their Bluegrass Ensemble under Al White and was awarded the Red Foley Memorial Music Award in 2018. She joined us here at Red Barn nearly five years ago playing with her brother Theo, and now plays with a variety of artists, bluegrass, Americana, and country in Nashville. We think you'll find that Brenna's playing and vocal delivery brings a fresh sound to singer-songwriter folk and bluegrass alike

Hey there Lovelies and welcome back for the 250th episode of Final Girls Horrorcast! This week we're chatting about one single movie with our good friend: Al White. That's right! The one we've been putting off for years… 2018's ‘Suspiria'. Trailer Trashtalk: ‘The Menu' (November 18th, 2022) Next Week - Join us next week as we talk about ‘The Lure' streaming on HBO Max and ‘Spree' streaming on Hulu.
Presented with Holley and MSD! Did you know that MSD - the most trusted name in hot rod ignition known to man - is part of Holley? Well if not...now you do! That's right, that magical red "spark box" that was in every race car and high school hot rod you can think of has the same great quality and support of any Holley product you can think of. Visit https://www.holley.com/brands/msd/ to buy a few toys for yourself and make SURE you tell them we sent you! Dukes Review: Cale Yarborough returns for some reason and he's a better actor than many other guest stars! Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins) from Saved by the Bell gets to be a star, finally! This is his third appearance on the Dukes, but first as a bad guy. More notably, and most importantly though, Al White (think "Jive Talk" from Airplane!) returns to Hazzard to play the role of another bad guy. Al White can do no wrong! Unfortunately, even though Cal Yarborough is here....this rest of this episode only does wrong. Lotsa wrong. Lotsa horrible horrible wrong. This episode features not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 miniature General Lee stunts….and….AND….a two wheel ski stunt. I can rationalize the cost savings of not jumping real cars dammit, but putting a car up on two wheels? That's like - $30 in tires at this point and $50 for Buzz Bundy to work his magic for 5 minutes. But, I digress. Anyway, here's the plot. An orphan is sick, he's huge Cale Yarborough fan and though we've never ever seen him before (and we'll never see him again) he's super close to the Dukes and they get Cale to come and cheer him up. These damn miniatures. Not even the awesomeness of Cale Yarborough, Mr Belding, and Al White can overcome that. 6 Corndogs. (Note: Season 7 Corndogs have ⅓ o ½ the value of other seasons Corndogs.) Patreon Peeps, the year 2022 will be an important one for Patreon specifically, and if you'd consider jumping up to the $5 level it would sure help. Is this the dawn of Dad Jokes? Joe and George take a look at a film neither had seen before this and yet they still managed to know just about every line in it. Like literally... just... about... every... line... in... it. Links The Making of Jive Talk from Airplane! Zero Hour! was released in 1957, and was the inspiration for Airplane!. By “inspiration,” I mean it took so much from it that the producers had to officially acquire the rights. This is the dialog script, with bolded lines where the dialog is identical between the two movies. In particular, the line: “The life of everybody aboard depends on just one thing: Finding someone back there who not only can fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner.” was what prompted Abrams and the Zuckers’ to make Airplane!. http://www.rogermwilcox.com/zero_hour.html Mariel Boatlift https://www.nytimes.com/1980/05/11/archives/retarded-people-and-criminals-are-included-in-cuban-exodus-200.html Cuban flight https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1980/08/17/three-jetliners-hijacked-to-cuba/d099faa4-4dec-4776-908a-2651a65f30b5/

Writer/Director/Musician Al White joins the Cinemondo gang for a discussion about his gorgeous little film, STARFISH, which we feel a little bad for giving a less than 5 star review. Al tells us all about what’s involved in making a film where you’re in control of almost every aspect of the production - aside from writing and directing, Al does animation, music and evidently has many skills and many projects in the works. It’s a fascinating discussion about a complicated process. We talk about movies and video games and how opinions are shaped around the movies that we love or don’t love.Check out Al White's other projects and beautiful social media!Mr Al White Neon WolvesWe Are GeeksGhost LightWe are TessellateSPOILER WARNING: This episode contains MAJOR SPOILERS which means important story details will be revealed. Kathy, Mark and Burk review Al White's beautiful film, STARFISH, which has things we like, and things we didn’t like so much.Kathy talks about the promotion and trailer for the upcoming Mike Flanagan film of a Stephen King novel called DOCTOR SLEEP. We’re pretty hopeful because one of our favorite directors is making another adaptation of a book by one of our favorite writers. We get into THE MATRIX film and the upcoming sequel to the original trilogy, and the Keanu Reeves phenomenon. Burk talks more about black and white film and and 80s film by Francis Ford Coppola called RUMBLE FISH that takes inspiration from the 40s Film Noir style. More discussion about what it means to tell a story with a camera.Music composed and performed by Burk Sauls.Join Cinemondo and over a hundred thousand podcasters already using Buzzsprout to get their message out to the world. Tonight on Whispers we welcome Joe Montaldo and Damodara Dasa to the show.Joe Montaldo is Co-Founder, International Director, and Spokesperson for I.C.A.R. the International Community for Alien Research and has researched alien abductions for over 25 years. He is host of UFO Undercover, a talk radio show dealing with UFO's and the alien abduction phenomenon.Damodara Dasa was born Al White but changed his name after converting to become a Hare Krishna. Dasa will be discussing the Hindu ideas behind the difference between the body and the soul, cremation, liberated souls, and ghosts. In Hinduism, a body is usually cremated after death. If this does not occur, sometimes the soul will linger about the body, trying to re-enter. This is why there are so many ghosts in graveyards. Show Notes are here: http://www.whispersradio.com/?p=1053
