SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Pat Fitzmaurice and Alex Gelhar join Greg to break down some news, talk top-tier quarterbacks, and investigate some fantasy X-factors for the 2020 NFL season. The show kicks off using Kelvin Harmon's ACL injury as an excuse to discuss the unnamed Washington franchise's fantasy outlook, then your hosts discuss the rumors of free agent wideouts joining the Seahawks. From there, the conversation turns to the top tiers of quarterbacks (10:52), splitting hairs between the consensus top-six passers before speculating on which lower-ranked signal-callers could crash the top-tier party under the right circumstances. The rest of the episode deals with X-factors for the upcoming season, including COVID-19 and how it should impact league setups and draft strategy (36:13), rookie rushers set to shake up established backfields (46:01), and a few other players from the Broncos, Colts, and Dolphins (1:02:37).LinksThe Fitz on Fantasy Podcast with Pat FitzmauriceTheFootballGirl.comaFPA Strength of Schedule Hot Spots at 4for4.com99 Stats But a Mitch Ain't One by John PaulsenFantasy Player Debates at 4for4.comSubscribe to 4for4TMAP B-Sides Playlist on SpotifyGuest: Pat Fitzmaurice - @Fitz_FFGuest: Alex Gelhar - @AlexGelharHost: Greg Smith - @gregsauceFollow UsTwitter: @4for4footballFacebook: www.facebook.com/4for4footballYouTube: www.youtube.com/4for4footballEmail: hello@4for4.com
SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Alex Gelhar joins Greg for a grab bag of fantasy football topics. They kick off the show by catching up on the news of Cam Newton joining the New England Patriots, who seems relatively affordable relative to name value based on evidence from recent Scott Fish Bowl drafts. Your hosts discuss whether or not he's a value if Newton's SFB cost holds, plus the impact he might have on his new arsenal of weapons. And while Cam has already found a new home, Raheem Mostert is seeking one of his own. Alex and Greg reevaluate the 49ers backfield in the wake of Mostert's trade demand, and they also take stock of San Francisco's passing game with Deebo Samuel now dealing with a Lisfranc injury. The show wraps up with a more theoretical dive into the wide receiver position, in search of potentially undervalued assets who could ascend in the right circumstances this season.LinksFantasy Player Debates at 4for4.comSubscribe to 4for4TMAP B-Sides Playlist on SpotifyGuest: Alex Gelhar - @AlexGelharHost: Greg Smith - @gregsauceFollow UsTwitter: @4for4footballFacebook: www.facebook.com/4for4footballYouTube: www.youtube.com/4for4footballEmail: hello@4for4.com
Joining host Pat Fitzmaurice (@Fitz_FF) for a special Thanksgiving edition of Fitz on Fantasy is 4for4.com contributor and fellow Wisconsinite Alex Gelhar, formerly of NFL.com. Alex explains why he left a full-time fantasy job with the league in order to attend law school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and why he dipped a toe back into the fantasy waters by doing the weekly waiver wire column at 4for4. Alex and Pat then discuss some of the more attractive Week 13 waiver options, including Ryan Tannehill, Rashaad Penny, Randall Cobb, Ryan Griffin. Alex talks about what it was like to be roommates with Matt Harmon in L.A., then weighs in on some of his favorite Thanksgiving dishes. Alex and Pat also discuss superflex leagues, how they approached the TE position this year, the big leaps for D.J. Moore and Deebo Samuel, the value of Jonathan Williams, and whether Carson Wentz can be started against a series of soft pass defenses in the coming weeks. SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Alex Gelhar joins Greg to recap Week 10 and work the Week 11 waiver wire. Your hosts begin by discussing the upset-heavy results from Sunday, then profile their booms and busts of the week, including some busts who might qualify as buy-lows. From there, the conversation pivots to the viability of "buying low." It's harder than ever, and your hosts speculate on how traders can find edges when the modern fantasy player is so well-informed. Then it's on to the impact of key injuries from Week 10, including those to Matthew Stafford, Austin Hooper, Brian Allen, Marshon Lattimore, and Patrick Peterson. The show winds down with waiver pick-up recommendations for each position (26:32). Who is the best bargain basement QB streamer? Is Brian Hill or Derrius Guice the better RB addition? Do we need to pay attention to Darrel Williams or Darwin Thompson? How about Russell Gage? Is O.J. Howard's fantasy value back from the dead? Who are the best streaming defenses for Week 11? Summary Alex Gelhar joins Greg Smith and they kick off the show with a review some tough-to-evaluate fantasy situations stemming from Alex's league-wide review of targets and touches at the end of 2018. The discussion then moves to their favorite Next Gen Stats (and other more traditional statistics) to apply to fantasy football. Later, your hosts go deep on how to assess and weigh different types of risk in concert when evaluating players, including a special segment to speculate on the greatest risks associated with some of the least risky players from the early rounds of drafts. From there, Alex and Greg close out the episode with a quick check-in on their respective Scott Fish Bowl drafts. As the last puzzle pieces of free agency come into place, Matt Harmon and Liz Loza start off the show this week by addressing a very serious voicemail from a distraught Giants fan driven to the brink of despair by GM Dave Gettleman (3:00).Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programming! Matt and Liz are joined by Alex Gelhar, formerly of NFL Fantasy, to provide fantasy (and legal) insight through the show. And speaking of puzzles, a few puzzling moves trickled across the league as three, shall we say, less than good quarterbacks took a carousel ride to new locker rooms. Matt and Liz kick off the quarterback discussion by analyzing the trade of Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans to presumably back up Marcus Mariota (9:00), then look at the Miami side of the equation where Ryan Fitzpatrick was signed by the presumably tanking Dolphins (14:20).Also in the news, Rams fans were treated to news of the signing of their new backup QB, the immortal Blake Bortles (19:30), while the very mortal Tyler Eifert re-signed with the Cincinnati Bengals (21:30).Moving to two former Packers, Randall Cobb signed a one year deal with the Dallas Cowboys (24:20) and any dreams of Jordy Nelson pairing with Antonio Brown were shut down as he was released by the Oakland Raiders. The crew discusses their favorite potential landing spots for Nelson and wonder if he could return to the green and gold (27:10).Lastly, Matt, Liz and Alex discuss Chris Conley signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars and who among that receiver corps seems more likely to establish a good rapport with newly signed QB Nick Foles (30:20).[Best bracket wins $1M: Enter our free contest now! | Printable bracket]Leave a voicemail on a future episode by calling (888) 85-YAHOO or (888) 859-2466.Please remember to rate, review and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.Follow Liz @LizLoza_FFFollow Matt @MattHarmon_BYB See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
