Joel’s still banging on about how Sydney has the best coffee in the world — and now there’s proof! Toby’s Estate in Chippendale just topped the list at the "World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops Gala" in Madrid. Sip that! Then, we dive into Meghan Markle’s cringe-worthy appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show — someone get the Netflix PR team on the line, stat. From the coffee buzz to canine longevity, we chat about the new drug LOY-001 that could help big dog breeds live as long as the little ones. More time with our fur babies? Yes, please! The Glossy’s are packed today: Jennifer Hudson’s unexpected NBA moment (ball to the face!), Justin Timberlake’s arrest drama (and the cop who didn’t know JT's tour was a thing), and Jane Fonda’s WILD bear encounter — she literally roared at a bear to save her grandson. Iconic. Plus, Lady Gaga is set to host SNL this weekend with the release of her new album Mayhem. We're ready for the drama and the bangers. We wrap it up with a cheeky NBA Kiss Cam fail (spoiler alert: rejection hurts) and a throwback to Air Canada’s 1972 dance floors at 30,000 feet. Yes, a mid-air disco. Get your flat white ready — preferably from Sydney — and let’s go!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What is the "Best" coffee shop? As long as coffee and coffee shops have been around, us humans have been rather preoccupied with what the best coffee of coffee shop is. We have our own personal scale of judgment, then there are local popularity contests put on by city papers. Most famously over the past decade or two we have developed barista, brewing, coffee shop, and cupping competitions to determine quality. All of this is to my mind, not just to try to figure out "the best", but to extol virtues we desire to see continued in that category assuming that if they do then it will be a net gain for everyone seeking consistent enjoyment. Today on the show we get to talk about nature of this construct, why it is a bad thing to base your business on, how we can put the idea of being "the best" into its proper place in our minds so it does not become a distraction from the ways we can truly find fulfillment and meaningfulness in our work serving coffee. The world is a busy place, and we all know a good thing when we taste (and smell) it...and my next guest, Jonathan Pastore and his company Bean2Bean Coffee, is here to help you keep up with life's demanding pace. Jonathan is no stranger to the allure of a rich, dark brew--he started out working in the culinary industry since he was a youth. His passion for the industry grew stronger as he moved onto college, learning the business behind marketing food and beverage companies. Today, his passion for an eye-opening cup-o-joe filtered into providing locals a comforting cup through both the Bean2Bean Cafe, located inside of Billy Penn Studios and to anyone interested in buying their products wholesale. But our focus wasn't limited to that--tune in to hear from Jonathan what else is brewing for this coming September--you'll be barking up the right tree if you do!My next guest who is the Owner of Lost Worlds Brewing Company, David Hamme, joined Food Farms and Chefs to talk about how he transitioned from his career as a successful business consultant to also owning his own brewing company. His forward-thinking brand has earned him recognition from his surrounding community. Not only for what he has on-tap, but also for all he did to establish Lost Worlds Brewing as the go-to location for night's out, markets, community involvement, and a fun way to learn a bit of history when you visit. With three locations in North Carolina, there's every reason to check out David's entertaining and engaging brewery...and let's not forget to taste whatever strikes your fancy on his beer list!Lastly, I spoke with someone whose upbeat personality only adds to the sweetness you'll experience when visiting CJ's Sweet Palace in Glenside, PA. Co-owner Janelle White joined me on the show, discussing all things Philly but with a twist: Think water ice, ice cream, Philly Pretzels, and an interesting take on a City Wide Special. If that doesn't entice your sweet tooth, then perhaps one of their fresh-baked cookies can! But I don't want to spoil all the fun. Stay tuned while Janelle describes what CJ's offers and enjoy a sweet ending to this week's episode of Food Farms and Chefs!

I have always loved coffee, but in recent years it just hasn't been loving me back. In this episode, I share my new coffee routine that tastes delicious and leaves me feeling great! This week on The SavvyCast, I am sharing my favorite way to make coffee! Zane and I have always been avid coffee drinkers but in recent years our morning cup of joe led to heartburn and acid reflux. Since coffee is such an integral part of our morning routine, we knew we had to find a way to keep the coffee but leave behind the negative effects it had on us. In this episode, I share the details of our new coffee routine that tastes delicious and leaves us feeling healthier and energized all day long. My Perfect Cold Brew Ratio: After experimenting many times with the ratio of coffee grounds to water, I have found that a ratio of 1:4 is the perfect balance. Usually, I use 1 cup of grounds and 4 cups of water, but of course, you can double or triple this to suit your cold brew needs! Resources Mentioned In This Episode: LifeBoost Coffee Follow Lifeboost on Instagram: @lifeboostcoffee Williams Sonoma mini coffee grinder My Cold Brew maker Breville Nespresso Creatista Whole Earth Stevia & Monk Liquid Sweetener on Amazon My Coffee Routine Collection I hope you enjoyed this episode! Both agree that personal recommendations from locals or trusted individuals often lead to the best coffee experiences.
You thought buying a Porsche was expensive? Porsche is going public at an $84B valuation because Porsche mastered “The Porsche Principle.” The fastest growing coffee chain right now is Blank Street Coffee because their master plan is to be the best coffee… by not being the best coffee.
