Celles et ceux qui ne sont jamais allé·e·s aux Trans Musicales de Rennes, je ne sais pas si vous pouvez vous imaginer ce que représente le Hall 9 le vendredi soir en milieu de soirée. Loin de moi l'idée de mettre la pression à l'artiste qui est assis en face de moi, mais l'énergie du public rennais, particulièrement dans ce hall, c'est quelque chose qu'il est difficile d'oublier. On se souvient de Birdy Nam Nam ou de Jacques en 2015 alors que Tsugi Radio avait à peine deux mois. Et si je mentionne l'homme à la tonsure, c'est déjà parce qu'il est à nouveau à l'affiche du festival rennais cette année, mais aussi parce qu'il connait bien mon invité du jour. Un garçon qui a commencé au lycée à faire de la musique pour les jeux vidéo, avant de rendre épique un club hippique avec 3 autres joyeux lurons venus du Nord : Myd, Panteros666 et Sam Tiba. Canblaster, c'est lui, poursuit son émancipation et revient cette année avec un nouveau live, qu'il donnera pour la première fois aux Trans vendredi, une mixtape Genesis, qui tourne en boucle sur le player de Tsugi Radio, et un album prévu en 2024. La music story du jour c'est celle de DJ Pone… Il y a des retours qui sonnent comme des rappels à l'ordre. Celui de DJ Pone avec son album « 1978 » c'est l'impératif qu'il faut écouter, réécouter les œuvres de cet artiste français, héros du Djiing, héros d'une masterclass avec l'aventure Birdy Nam Nam. « 1978 » c'est justement nous raconter un peu du passé, sans pour autant verser dans la nostalgie, comme avec ce single « All I Want » avec Blasé  

C'est un des héros discrets mais incontournables de la musique en France du dernier quart de siècle. Et il suffit pour s'en convaincre de citer les artistes avec lesquels il a collaboré : Cut Killer, la Scred Connexion, les Svinkels, NTM ou Casseurs Flowteurs alias Gringe & Orelsan. En 2002, il fonde Birdy Nam Nam, un groupe de 4 DJs, qui non contents d'être champions du monde DMC, vont appliquer les techniques des DJs du hip hop à la musique électronique. Comme beaucoup, je garde un souvenir ému et bouillant du Hall 9 des Trans Musicales en 2008 avant le succès de leur album Trans Boulogne Express et une Victoire de la Musique pour leur album suivant, Manual for Succesful Rioting. Après Birdy Nam Nam, DJ Pone a tracé sa route, sortant un maxi sur Ed Banger, fondant le duo Sahr avec José Reis Fontao, la voix de Stuck in the Sound. Et puis premier album solo en 2016, Radiant, qui ce vendredi aura un petit frère intitulé 1978. DJ Pone regarde dans le rétro vers l'enfance et en revient avec 14 titres dont la grâce égale la puissance. 14 titres qui dressent une cartographie intime d'un artiste qui a décidément bien fait de ne pas choisir entre hip hop, électronique et pop.

Les dj's ou les platinistes (en français) ou l'art de créer de la musique avec des platines à vinyles et des disques vinyles est le thème de l'émission de cet épisode. We dig into our underground hiphop crates to pull out some nice selections of rich beats, vinyl techniques and rhymes this week. We kick it off with Birdy Nam Nam, the 2002 DMC World Champion turntablist quartet and their deep Abbesses composition. Doomtree drops some rhymes and picks up the energy with Z-Trip rockin' the party and taking us into the zone. More rhymes from Grieves and Atmosphere drops some sick production until we drop back a decade or so with Ming & FS doing their hiphop meets dnb thing. Some quality Canadian hiphop in there with Sixtoo and Canadian DMC champ DJ Brace showing us that hiphop is alive and well north of 49. The silky voice of Dessa brings us down followed by the for-some-reason-unknown sample guru DJ Frane with his cutup scratchin and funked out piano groove of A Story I Heard.
