Re-live your own season while listening to the stories of my friends George Gomez and Rashawn Gordon. George had an incredible Montana hunt and we'll get the highlights from him: dog work, bird numbers and other challenges. (And I share a once-in-aplifetime shot!) Rashawn trains dogs and guides in the Southwest, where he chases primarily Gambel's quail. We'll get advice on steadying dogs to running birds, the importance of recall, and training away from sight points. Listeners share their thoughts on hunting a brace (or more!) of dogs simultaneously, and "Fix It" covers some reasons to take your training into the house. You get a chance to win a pair of Chad Hodge signature choke tubes from Trulock Chokes (value $199) in our furfeathersfriends.com sweepstakes, too, but only if you listen and know the Word of the Week. And it's all brought to you by: HiVizSights.com, Pointer shotguns, @midwayusa, #midwayusa, MidwayUSA, Mid Valley Clays and Shooting School, TrulockChokes, HiViz shooting systems, Purina Pro Plan Sport and FindBirdHuntingSpots.com.
Motivation, inspiration and savvy advice: re-live your own season as you listen to an avid hunter, and a Registered Maine Guide recount theirs. Amanda Ponti joins me for a look at hunts from Montana to New Mexico ... dog work, desert quail, camaraderie, and some useful insights on what to bring. Then Craig Morrison tells us how the the woodcock and ruffed grouse season played out for him and his clients. Bird behavior and habitat strategy are among his topics. "Fix It" answers the proverbial question about an older person getting a new puppy ... and listeners share some of the many states they hunted last season in addition to their own. You get a chance to win a four-pack of Pointer shotguns or set of Chad Hodge upland chokes from Trulock Chokes (value $199) in our furfeathersfriends.com sweepstakes, too, but only if you listen and know the Word of the Week.

Are you Green or Orange? We're not quite Red over this listener recommendation (thanks Em!) but both Brenna and Joe find that Bracken's text doesn't fully want to engage with its rebellion or world-building as much as it could (or should?) Instead it's a lot of road trip, with an unconvincing romance and a cliffhanger that suggests we might enjoy the next book in this series more.Alas the film fares worse: despite decent special effects and a more convincing romantic pairing between returning champ Amandla Stenberg and someone named Harris Dickinson (*not a Hemsworth), the film doubles down on the book's least interesting aspects. As it stands, this pairing simply doesn't stand on its own two feet and Stenberg (see previous episodes: Everything, Everything; The Hate U Give, and The Hunger Games) deserves better!Wanna connect with the show? When Ann Dowd won the Emmy this year for best supporting actress in a drama, critics and fans alike cheered the news. Dowd won for her work on "The Handmaid's Tale," but it felt like recognition for all of the work she had done over the years as a working actor. Cheering extra hard while watching at home was "Good Behavior" executive producer Chad Hodge, who knew he had Dowd as a secret weapon for his show.
"Good Behavior" stars Michelle Dockery ("Downton Abbey") as Letty Raines, a thief and con artist who's out of prison and trying to be a better person. She's back to her old tricks, stealing and giving into her addictions, when she encounters an assassin, played by Juan Diego Botto. The show reunites executive producer Chad Hodge with author Blake Crouch, who came up with the character. Also in this episode: "Parks and Recreation" executive producer Mike Schur on why the show's prediction that the Cubs would win it all was no fluke; and a review of Netflix's new royal series "The Crown."
Kyle Killen (creator of Awake, Lone Star, and Mind Games) returns for another look at a specific track of television production with a presentation on the testing process. Following his breakdown of the unique stage of production, Kyle is joined by Julie Plec (co-creator, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals), Ben Wexler (co-creator, The Comedians), Chad Hodge (creator, Wayward Pines), and Dina Hillier (VP of Comedy Development, Paramount Television) to discuss their own experiences with focus groups and testing and how that changed his or her show.Recorded at ATX Television Fest in June 2015.

He is also preparing a movie called SHEPHERD: A Tale of a Dog in World War II, based on the best-selling Israeli novel with Lynn Roth writing and directing. He just sold a Mini-Series to David Ellison's Skydance TV, six hours of television based on Michael Oren's book THE SIX DAY WAR with Rob Eshman writing. Rosenman is also putting together a film based on the life of ANITA BRYANT written by Chad Hodge, to be directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, starring Uma Thurman and Zach Quinto. The seminar has been presented in Memphis, Omaha, Philadelphia, Boston, New York and Los Angeles with upcoming engagements in Seattle, Austin, San Francisco, South Africa and Israel. He is currently at work on his first book also entitled THE HOLLYWOOD SELL, which will be both a memoir and a how-to-produce guide for aspiring filmmakers. Rosenman is Co-Founder of Project Angel Food in LA, which provides meals-on-wheels for patients with terminal illnesses and is now one of the largest charities in Southern California. In 2009 Beth Chayim Chadashim awarded him with the Herman Humanitarian Award. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brooklyn College with a degree in European Literature.
