When Payson hobbled his way into the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center in May with a broken hip, he wasn't expecting to be off crutches anytime soon, but thanks to the work of coaches like Will Gilmore, he not only managed to leave the facility without crutches, but also to jump back into racing a full month and a half before he'd planned. Will started his career in baseball, playing professionally before becoming a strength and conditioning coach for the Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds. Now at Red Bull, he works with athletes across the spectrum, from snowboarders and gamers to surfers and cyclists. In this conversation, he and Payson chat about why he left professional baseball, how he and the team at the Athlete Performance Center adapt their knowledge and technology to over 800 athletes in a dizzying number of sports, and how he helped Payson return from injury long before it seemed possible. Instagram: @withpacepodYouTube: Payson McElveen Email: howdy@withpace.cc

Hour 1 We start the NFL season with two 0-1 teams yet again. The Jets offense looked surprisingly good but the defense gave up 4 TDs to Aaron Rodgers. The Jets also had a fumble on a kickoff return that really hurt them. Justin Fields made a lot of good throws. What will Brian Daboll do at quarterback? Gio said he cannot put Jaxson Dart out there behind that line. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the Xavier Gipson fumble that really hurt them and the 60 yard FG that won the game. Mike Tomlin called the kicker a ‘serial killer'. Aaron Glenn talked about the discipline issues they had. Brian Daboll talked about the tough loss in Washington. We heard Daniel Jones throwing a beautiful pass for a TD as they had no problem with Miami. Mike McDaniel talked about what went wrong. The Ravens blew a big lead in the fourth quarter and lost to the Bills. Green Bay had no problem beating the Lions. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays and took the series as Cody Bellinger had a nice RBI. The Mets lost to the Reds and dropped the series. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from Giants fans who are sick of the same old same old. Hour 2 We talked about the Giants quarterback situation and how they have to try hard not to screw up Jaxson Dart. It seems like the only chance Daboll has of keeping his job is starting Dart and him playing well. Callers are sick of the boring Giants offense. If the Giants don't win this week in Dallas, this has the makings of a 3-win season. They have the Chiefs and Chargers after that. A caller calls Andrew Thomas a ‘mutt' for not playing hurt. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Steelers beating the Jets with a 60 yard FG. Mike Tomlin described him as wanting to ‘bang from deep'. We heard the sounds of the Commanders having no problem with the Giants as they scored only 6 points. Malik Nabers talked about his spat with Daboll on the sideline. Russell Wilson was asked about the supposed package of plays for Jaxson Dart. Daniel Jones had a great day as the Colts beat the Dolphins. Buffalo scored 16 unanswered points to come back in the fourth quarter to beat the Ravens. Jerry went around the NFL. The Yankees took their series from the Blue Jays while the Mets lost theirs to the Reds. In the final segment of the hour, a fan shoved DeAndre Hopkins so Lamar Jackson shoved him back. Gio thinks moronic fans should keep their hands off the players. Hour 3 As fun as the Jets game was, you are still pulling your hair out because that's a game they should have won. And it was Aaron Rodgers, no less, coming in and throwing 4 TDs. The Jets were the better team for all 4 quarters, but as Aaron Glenn said, there are no moral victories. And the stadium was full of Steelers fans. The Giants on the other hand looked like they have the last four years, not good. A caller said he felt out of place at MetLife as a Jets fan. Gio can't believe people still like to go to games. With the Giants, once again, we are watching the same thing we've been seeing year after year. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Jets loss against the Steelers. Aaron Glenn talked about the fumble and said players won't remain on the team if they have costly turnovers. Boomer liked Glenn's postgame press conference. Xavier Gipson talked about his costly fumble. Aaron Rodgers was asked about beating Glenn since he didn't want him any more. We heard Brandon Tierney's ‘Unkillable' podcast reaction after the Jets loss. We heard from Tommy Lugauer and Shaun Morash who both want Jaxson Dart to start. The Bills came back in the fourth quarter to beat the Ravens as Derrick Henry had a costly fumble. Lamar Jackson talked about his physical contact with a fan. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays and took the series. The Mets lost to the Reds and lost the series. In the final segment of the hour, a car somehow jumped both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Sunrise highway. The driver was having a ...

Giants fans want Jaxson Dart to start. We talked about Friday night's game between the Chiefs and Chargers and how the Chiefs have an issue at WR now. We took calls from Giants fans who are already fed up with Russell Wilson and the offense. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Jets losing to the Steelers. We wondered about Justin Fields wearing gloves, maybe because of the rainy weather. The Bills came back in the fourth quarter to beat the Ravens as Derrick Henry had a costly fumble. Brian Daboll talked about losing again. The defense only allowed 14 points for most of the game but they have zero offense. Jerry went around the NFL including Ben Johnson who's fired up for tonight's game against the Vikings. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays and took the series. The Mets lost to the Reds and dropped the series. The Moment of The Day: Mike Tomlin's kicker likes to ‘Bang from deep'. Hour 1 We get NFL football tonight as the Cowboys play the Eagles. The Giants open with Washington and then play the Cowboys and Gio said they have to win one of those games as they can't start the season 0-2 with two losses in the division. The NFC East could be a top division if the Giants figure out how to get some wins. We wondered how soon Brian Daboll would try to get Jaxson Dart into games. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with a preview of Cowboys/Eagles. Jerry is doing the game on radio with Brian Baldinger, who's in the NFL's ‘mangled hand' club. The Yankees lost in Houston as Devin Williams walked in a run and Doval balked in a run and then threw a wild pitch that brought in a run. Helsley had another rough outing in relief as the Mets lost to the Tigers. Pablo Torre talked about uncovering the Kawhi Leonard situation with the Clippers and circumventing the salary cap. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the Ryder Cup which starts later this month at Bethpage Black. Hour 2 The Mets took 2-of-3 in Detroit but left with a bad taste in their mouth with another bad bullpen performance by Helsley. This is what happens when starting pitching can't go five innings. They may ask Kodai Senga to go to the minors for a few starts but he would have to approve that. We also talked more about what type of Long Island crowd we're going to get at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. A guy calls in who has a business where he collects golf balls at Bethpage at night. Jerry returns for an update, but first he wonders how the volleyball girls on TV right now can afford to get to Bangkok. Jerry Jones was on Good Morning America talking about being a great salesman. Al Dukes is not happy with commercials on Red Zone this season. The Yankees lost in Houston and the home plate umpire was brutal. Helsley talked about his recent performances not being so great. In the final segment of the hour, Gio tells the tragic story of someone local who passed away. Hour 3 Al Dukes did a poll asking if you can watch an NFL game without betting on it, having a drink of alcohol during it or scrolling on your phone. We also talked more about the Red Zone channel having commercials and how much playing time is in an actual NFL game. Dan in Carteret calls about Boomer breaking Imus' record this coming March and Jazz Chisholm predicting a Yankees World Series win. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the called third strike on Jazz that ended the game. He was not happy with the call. The home plate ump had a rough night. The Mets had a rough day in Detroit, especially Helsley in relief. Russell Wilson said mindset is everything for the Giants. Boomer said the Commanders should run right at Abdul Carter to see if he can run-defend. Roger Goodell was on the Today Show and said it's a ‘maybe' as far as Taylor Swift playing at the Super Bowl. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer is getting a lot of requests for interviews now that football season is upon us. Hour 4 Is Andrew Thomas going to play for the Giants this Sunday against the Commanders? We also talked about the season ending injury to Alijah Vera-Tucker of the Jets. Both teams tried to build up their offensive lines. Boomer tells a story about teaching kids in Italy how to play football back in the late 80's. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first Boomer told us how difficult it was to shower in Italy in 1987. On PTI, Tony Kornheiser compared Nolan McLean to Tom Seaver, just like Boomer did. The Yankees lost in Houston as Devin Williams walked in a run. The home plate ump had a rough night and Williams paid the price. There are already tailgaters in Philadelphia for tonight's opening NFL game. Jerry is doing the game tonight on the radio. The Moment of The Day: Mark Chernoff's long lost daughter. In the final segment of the show, we gave our pick for tonight's Cowboys/Eagles game.

Griffin jumps in with fresh Milwaukee Brewers gear talk, noting their brutal schedule and the need for rest. From 1:45 Munaf confirms the show will move to a once-per-week schedule now that football is here, but assures fans that MLB playoff coverage is locked in. At 3:18 they dive into the first matchup, Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals. Munaf highlights Mitchell Parker's struggles while Griffin emphasizes Miami's improved form but admits the price is tough to justify. By 5:34 the New York Mets vs Detroit Tigers discussion turns into a critique of Casey Mize's numbers and the shaky Tigers bullpen, with both leaning toward the over. At 9:12 they cover Texas Rangers vs Arizona Diamondbacks. Jack Leiter's inexperience and Arizona's offensive power are discussed, with Zach Gallen's desert struggles also noted. Munaf points to Gallant's home ERA issues, leaving room for Texas value. By 12:25 Baltimore Orioles vs San Diego Padres shifts to Cade Povich's inconsistency and San Diego's bullpen strength, leaving both hesitant to back the pricey Padres money line. At 15:34 the Dodgers vs Pirates brings Shohei Ohtani into focus. Griffin leans slightly toward Pittsburgh value but Munaf stresses Ohtani's upside and recent improvement. They explore how the Dodgers might deploy him in October. At 19:48 Toronto Blue Jays vs Cincinnati Reds brings Shane Bieber's post-surgery resurgence into the spotlight, with Munaf impressed by Bieber's control. They suggest backing Toronto despite Cincinnati's hitter-friendly park. By 23:19 the Mariners vs Rays matchup shows George Kirby's control versus Adrian Houser's regression. Griffin leans toward Tampa Bay at home while Munaf likes the under. At 29:23 the Braves vs Cubs features Bryce Elder's volatility and Horton's blister issues, leading to interest in an over. At 32:23 the Phillies vs Brewers matchup becomes a highlight. Both analyze Aaron Nola and Jose Quintana, ultimately agreeing Philadelphia offers value as an underdog. At 37:12 the White Sox vs Twins matchup centers on Gomez versus prospect Zevi Matthews, with Munaf leaning over 8.5 as both pitchers have struggled. At 39:48 Athletics vs Cardinals brings Jeffrey Springs vs Matthew Liberatore, with both siding with Oakland as the sharper play. At 43:02 Yankees vs Astros highlights Jason Alexander's success in Houston's rotation, with Munaf backing the Astros as a plus-money home side. At 47:33 Giants vs Rockies ends the game breakdown. Coors Field and Robbie Ray's unpredictability lead to an over lean. At 49:26 best bets are revealed: Griffin selects the Phillies as a live underdog while Munaf goes with White Sox vs Twins over 8.5. They close at 52:44 by reminding listeners of the Pregame.com promo code and the importance of contest participation. This preview delivers actionable insight on pitching matchups, bullpen depth, and lineup form. The commentary blends betting strategy with game analysis, showing where value might lie in money lines, run lines, totals, and first-five opportunities. With the playoff race heating up, the focus is on identifying underdog value, fading over-priced arms, and trusting teams with proven bats and bullpens. The conclusion is clear: Wednesday's card offers a mix of live dogs and high-scoring opportunities, led by the Phillies against the Brewers and offensive potential in White Sox vs Twins .
