Everybody had a weekend, and unfortunately for all of us, they came back with stories. The crew kicks things off with the 100-inning softball game supporting the Burton family, where Rafe and Scott discover that 12 straight hours of softball is apparently something human beings willingly participate in. There were legitimate athletes, Chris Kerber brought the stories and good Blues energy, and Team Rizz did what Team Rizz does best: proudly represent athletic mediocrity while somebody else actually knows how to play the sport. Then Rafe takes us inside an entirely different competitive environment: Topgolf in Chesterfield. He showed up in jeans, a T-shirt and cowboy boots while seemingly everyone else arrived looking like they had just finished a private lesson at Bellerive. The clubs are nicer. The outfits are tighter. The dads appear to work in numbers. And somewhere along the way, Rafe introduces the world to the “Chesterfield Nine,” which naturally sends the entire funny podcast into an extremely mature and thoughtful discussion about golf.Just kidding. It immediately falls apart.Moon, meanwhile, spent his weekend in Los Angeles with Goldfinger for their biggest headlining show ever at the Hollywood Palladium. Between the packed hometown show, backstage chaos and trying to juggle approximately every person he has ever met in Southern California, Moon also wanders into Amoeba Music and suddenly finds himself standing next to Matt Berry. His carefully prepared celebrity interaction consists basically of realizing, “Holy crap, that's Matt Berry,” which honestly is probably better than anything the rest of us would've managed. Then comes the flight home.Delays pile up, passengers get increasingly irritated, everyone lines up to board…and the entire plane waits for one missing flight attendant. When she finally arrives, Moon witnesses a level of leisurely strolling that probably should've been studied by scientists. Hundreds of angry passengers? Connecting flights on the line? Whatever. She had a walking speed and she was committed to it.At least the delays gave Moon time to catch up on movies, leading to reviews of Michael, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and Tomb Raider. We also get Banana Ball confusion, because apparently baseball wasn't complicated enough and now fans can become part of the defense.Rizz heads the opposite direction for a father-son road trip to the University of Arkansas and finally experiences the roadside cathedral known as Buc-ee's. Unfortunately, he discovers that Buc-ee's contains one fatal flaw: other people. Lots and lots of other people. He battles the crowd, buys a Cuban sandwich that immediately disintegrates inside the car and ultimately reaches the devastating conclusion that Buc-ee's is basically a bigger Wally's. Somewhere, a beaver just felt a disturbance in the Force. The Arkansas trip also gives Rizz a glimpse of the college experience he never had, complete with a massive campus, tens of thousands of students and enough Walton branding to remind everyone exactly where they are. Then the show discovers “sunshine guilt” — that weird feeling that you're wasting your life because it's gorgeous outside and you dared to remain indoors. Finally, a funny podcast willing to defend your constitutional right to sit inside watching television while nature aggressively tries to shame you through the windows.Moon gets it. Rizz refuses to be bullied by sunshine. Lern is basically medically prescribed to go outside. And somehow chopping wood in a cowboy hat enters the conversation. So yes, this episode has softball, Chesterfield sociology, Goldfinger, Matt Berry, airport rage, Buc-ee's, college nostalgia and weather-induced emotional manipulation.Basically a normal Monday around here.If you're looking for a funny podcast packed with St. Louis stories, sarcastic humor, pop culture commentary, travel disasters and grown adults turning completely ordinary situations into unnecessary investigations, congratulations. Despite a packed weekend of golf across all levels of the game, this Monday episode begins with a good old-fashioned Sports Minute about the Cleveland Browns. Andy can't help himself and pesters Brendan about his team's quarterback situation, one that will seemingly be resolved (in some form) by Monday night! The two then transition to Wyndham Clark's third win of the season and his bid for 2026 PGA Tour Player of the Year. Wyndham outlasted Rory McIlroy at Bellerive to win the BMW Championship and two (2) trophies for his troubles. Andy and Brendan look at Clark's season in totality and also point out the CBS broadcast mentioning Wyndham's usage of different clubs behind his ball in the rough in the final round. The Boys then jump in from Indianapolis after a long, tiring week of LIV Golf at Chills. PJ and Joseph share their tales of survival after six days monitoring what may be LIV's final event, highlighting a house tour of a greenside mansion, their conversations with some LIV superfans, and the final song that played during Jon Rahm's last hole of the 2026 LIV season. There's even a note about - you guessed it! - Greg Norman's design chops. Brendan then runs through the results from the rest of the world of golf, including another week of Blockie on the Champions Tour, before one final update to the 2026 USA Presidents Cup standings. With Wyndham Clark now automatically qualified, will Ben Griffin be on the team at Medinah? We will return on Wednesday to preview the "Super Bowl of Golf" at East Lake and much more. BMW Championship Recap: Wyndham Clark or Scottie Scheffler For Player of the Year? Smylie Kaufman heads straight from the airport (with an update to his airlines Big Board!) to the studio to join Charlie Hulme for a recap of the BMW Championship, where he broadcasted the action from Bellerive Country Club all week long. Smylie and Charlie discuss Wyndham Clark's third win of the 2026 season, and where that places him in an increasingly interesting Player of the Year race that also includes Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick and Chris Gotterup.SK and CH also recap a disappointing ending - but a much improved week - for Rory McIlroy. A discussion about a "flat cat" putting grip that Rory has been using as a training aid leads to a conversation about the most unique aids that Smylie has seen while playing on Tour. Also in this episode: Smylie puts together his most likely Presidents Cup team with six USA players now automatically qualified, and Scottie's week dealing with hand, foot and mouth - a familiar experience for fathers of young children.Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe, and follow us on socials @thesmylieshow!Chapters0:00 Intro: late-night taping & two dad topics2:19 Smylie's dad-neck injury6:22 Movie review: Smylie watches The Odyssey10:48 Scottie Scheffler's hand, foot and mouth battle at Bellerive16:54 Wyndham Clark wins the BMW Championship over Rory McIlroy21:33 Rory's "flat cat" putter grip + training aids on Tour28:30 Player of the Year race: Scheffler vs. Wyndham Clark?39:15 FedEx Cup playoff points cut & this year's muted bubble drama44:32 Should the Tour Championship go to match play?53:39 Bellerive, St. Louis & should host cities rotate?59:56 Presidents Cup team predictions: Smylie's 6 picks1:05:54 Presidents Cup: youth development & the Ryder Cup comparison1:13:39 Airlines Big Board: Southwest Airlines review1:19:02 Charlie's putter update: the blade movement returns1:20:46 Sign-off: tennis racket meltdown, Tree of the Week & Tommy Fleetwood next week#golf #pgatour #BMW #WyndhamClark #ScottieScheffler #SmylieKaufman #golfhighlights #golfrecap

Get excited for some weekend viewing consisting of the (formerly) Western Open and a Majesticks Miracle in Indianapolis! Andy is off to the races to start this Friday episode, regaling Brendan! with tales about his new officemates before sharing some thoughts from his morning watching PGA Tour Live. Andy was aghast at the commentary team suggesting that missing the fairway at Bellerive on Thursday was a "full-shot penalty" and points out that the coverage was incredibly pro-Tom Kim. Brendan defends his Jupiter Links superstar from any criticism, leading Andy to admit that maybe the announcers were right - golf is better when Tom Kim is playing well! The two then bring in The Boys, Joseph LaMagna and PJ Clark, for a Riomar Report on their first two days in Indianapolis. The Boys provide some amusing pro-am details, a behind-the-scenes look at their Lunch with Dick Bland, and even some takeaways from Colts-Falcons joint practice before breaking down the first round at LIV Indy. They share a legitimate piece of reporting regarding Tyrrell Hatton's future and whether he'll be sticking around for LIV 2.0 and attempt to describe what it's like on the ground at what may be the final event in LIV history. Stay tuned for more coverage from The Boys as they'll be back for Monday's show with another Riomar Report after the Majesticks try to complete the greatest underdog story in the history of golf! Summer may be coming to a (merciful) end for Andy and Brendan soon, but not before LIV Golf will finish its 2026 season and maybe entire existence! The two dive into all of the news surrounding this week's makeshift season-ending event in Indianapolis, covering the latest rumors about Jon Rahm's next move, reports of new lawsuits from vendors, and the fact that players have not yet been paid for their finishes at LIV New York. The Boys are already in the great town of Indianapolis and are being encouraged to go "full Woodward and Bernstein" at what may be LIV Golf's final event. PJ is not exactly up for this massive challenge and was looking forward to a week of bits, but things have gotten more serious than anticipated. Andy and Brendan wonder about what players like Jason Kokrak, Talor Gooch, and even Dustin Johnson do next if this is, in fact, the end of the road for LIV as we know it. On the PGA Tour, the once-Western Open heads to Bellerive for another week of sweaty playoff golf. Andy wants this event to break ties with its Western Open heritage and has absolutely no interest in discussing the golf course or the test at hand for the FedEx Cup top 50. Brendan runs through the rest of a loaded Schedule for the Week, including TWO Canadian events, another sponsor invite for Blockie, and the U.S. Senior Women's Open. To wrap things up, the two discuss the Walker Cup picks for Team GB&I before sending The Boys into the unknown at LIV Indy. Experience the power, precision and versatility of Mercedes-Benz SUVs. Gary Williams opens Wednesday's 5 Clubs on Golf Channel and PGA Tour Radio, Channel 92 on SiriusXM, presented by Sentry Insurance, with the standings and scenarios heading into the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club. He runs through the players fighting to reach East Lake, from J.J. Spaun's comfortable position at 21 to the Hail Mary math facing players like Michael Brennan, Matt McCarty and Ryo Hisatsune in the 45 to 50 range. Gary then spends time on the remarkable parallel careers of Adam Scott and Justin Rose, two 46 year old major champions born two weeks apart in 1980 whose win totals, earnings and career arcs mirror each other almost exactly.Sean Zak of Golf Magazine and golf.com joins Gary from Indianapolis to discuss the chaotic final week of LIV Golf's 2026 season. Zak details unpaid vendors, mounting lawsuits and signs pointing toward bankruptcy, and traces the collapse of merger talks between the PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund back to a tense meeting involving Jay Monahan and Yasir Al-Rumayyan. The conversation turns to Jon Rahm's contract situation and why January 2027 may be the moment his path becomes clear, Bryson DeChambeau's continued commitment to building his own golf spectacle, and the DP World Tour's rising position as a landing spot for players looking to return to the traditional game. Zak and Gary close by putting Scottie Scheffler's five year run in context, from his breakout Phoenix win in 2022 to the gap he has now opened over the rest of the world ranking.Keith Stewart of Read the Line breaks down Bellerive Country Club ahead of the BMW Championship, describing a Rees Jones redesign with wide Zoysia fairways, sectioned green complexes and soft conditions following rain. Stewart identifies total driving and proximity from 175 yards and beyond as the keys to the week, and singles out Sam Burns and Si-Woo Kim as players overdue for a win after standout seasons. He and Gary also update the season-long picks standings, with Gil Hanse, Brendon De Jong and Jay Bilas all weighing in ahead of the final push toward East Lake. The episode wraps with Dogs of the Week, featuring golf course companions from Piners Country Club, Watami Golf and Country Club, Prospector Golf Course and Wind Dance Golf Club, and closes with a note on Bellerive's history and former Augusta National chairman Hord Hardin's eleven club championships there.Subscribe to 5 Clubs for more conversations and analysis from across the world of golf. Against all odds, The Sheriff has returned to the winner's circle on the PGA Tour. Andy and Brendan discuss a loaded weekend of golf, recapping a rainy U.S. Amateur final, Scottie's sweaty weekend in Memphis, and a full 54 holes from an injured Michael Block! They begin with the U.S. Am at Merion, debating the course's merits as a championship venue in today's game before breaking down the U.S. Walker Cup team selections. Brendan also shares perhaps his favorite story of the year - Ribeye-Gate - which might have cost Jay Leng the win against Jack Whaley. As it turns out, the youths did not learn from a grizzled veteran like Sergio Garcia. Sheriff Scottie took Sgt. Sam Burns for a ride along on Sunday at the FedEx St. Jude, running away from the field despite some petty theft by a rogue sprinkler-head early in the round. Despite a strong effort from Jordan Spieth, only Sungjae Im moved inside the top 50 in the season-long standings to secure Signature Event status for 2027. Andy and Brendan run through Spieth's post-round comments about "being close," and dive into Rory McIlroy's belief that he needs a miracle to be in contention next week at Bellerive. The two recap some more results from the weekend before previewing The Boys' upcoming trip to Indianapolis for LIV Indy, where they hope to have lunch with Ian Poulter and much, much more.
