Apologies for the problems last week and the missed pod. Despite our best efforts, the file simply wouldn't upload - which is a shame because we can guarantee it was our funniest, most informative and almost certainly greatest pod ever (if you believe that you will believe anything). This week, Ed chat with Gloucester supporter Ross Hancock - who just happens to be the Head of Marketing and Commercial at Cornish Pirates. Brought up in Wales, having played club rugby for Llandovery and Brecon as a Mins/Youth player; he was then was part of the Ospreys Academy and capped at Wales at u16. Ospreys didn't sign him at 18 and Dan decided to join Ealing Trailfinders academy and their Brunel University programme. Gloucester's young players made it two bonus point wins from two in the Premiership Cup with a win over a competitive and exciting Cornish Pirates side. Welcome to the first ever episode of the Pirate Rugby Podcast. So, who are we and what is the Pirate Rugby Podcast? We are two rugby enthusiasts with a passion for data and talking about the issues that the other podcasters aren't. Sadly, we have no affiliation whatsoever with the Cornish Pirates. We model ourselves more like the pirate radio stations from the 70s: broadcasting rugby content that others aren't talking about. For instance, did you know that Fiji, Tonga, Japan, Samoa, Uruguay, Chile, Namibia Argentina XV all played international games this weekend? Or that Scottish Rugby kicked off its first ever summer Super Series Championship? Most of these games weren't shown by broadcasters in the UK or Ireland and many of the major rugby outlets barely covered these games. However, that's where we come in. We are committed to bringing you all things tier 2 rugby, women's rugby and domestic competitions from around the world that you may never have even heard about. If you've never heard of it, we'll talk about it! We will, of course, cover plenty of tier 1 rugby and we will also focus on rugby media rights and provide an overview of upcoming games and where people can watch them. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Chris Bentley, Ian Dunstan and Sara Cox MBE return to talk all things rugby. The trio discuss the upcoming World Cup, the women's AP final and celebrate Sara becoming the most capped female rugby referee of all time. They also share their thoughts on the new Premiership format.

Mike, Gully, Gareth Alred and Ross Hancock will all chip in with their opinions along the way as an Islander becomes the first to take a coveted spot in the team after a stunning debut season for Harvey Biljon's side.

French RUGBY CONNECTIONS with Veronique Landew & Mike Pearce
Rugby Friends, I had the great pleasure to speak with the talented Alex Lozowski about what it meant for him and his teammates to win the Challenge Cup, his life in La Belle France, embracing the French life by growing a moustache to look like a Frenchman (LOL) and the main differences between playing Rugby in the Top14 versus the Gallagher Premiership. I am then joined by the iconic cameraman, Steve Rouse aka "Bull" who tells me about the origin of his nickname, his vast collections of socks and bandanas, and being smashed off the touchline by Lawrence Dallaglio to World Cups, with many European Finals in between. Bull has been witness to some of the biggest rugby occasions...but it turns out, his heart is more grassroots, happy having a cider at Cornish Pirates as he is at HQ. UNMISSABLE! My co-host, Mike Pearce will be back next week and we'll be back with reviewing the penultimate Top14 weekend, my ritual French Rugby lesson and of course, I will have a chat with another Rugby guest. In Episode 9 of The Burgess Podcast we got the opportunity to speak to former Wasps player Will Wilson. For myself this was a very inspiring episode and I hope it proves to be the same for you.We started off talking about how Will got into rugby and spoke about his time at Wellington College one of the most notorious rugby schools in the UK. From that we continued to speak about his time at school before moving onto his time at Oxford University where Will studied History and tried to balance Uni work and rugby.
