Germán Castrillón, portavoz del PP en Narón, calificó de “extraordinario y preocupante” el último pleno municipal, por el polémico caso de la foto de dos ediles con Laureano Oubiña, y reclamó disculpas públicas de la alcaldesa. Criticó la falta de planificación y parálisis en proyectos como la Avenida Solaina y la Piscina del Coto, y pidió mayor control en la organización de eventos locales. Castrillón destacó iniciativas de su grupo, como la creación de un parque infantil en Piñeiros y la construcción de viviendas públicas en San Siao y Freixeiro. The memorial for Charlie Kirk has been described as one of the most powerful and uplifting spiritual events this century, paying proper tribute to a giant of a man cut down in the prime of his life. There were and are many reasons to celebrate Charlie Kirk's life and legacy, one which we pray will continue to inspire generations. One thing that raised eyebrows and has made waves were remarks by Tucker Carlson, seen by many as fomenting antisemitic tropes. Many have raised their concern and voices with many nodding in agreement. Many others are scratching their heads and do not understand why. Was this isolated, or a trend by Tucker to make comments that can be seen as antisemitic, and host those who are openly antisemitic. It's important to ask these questions and have a dialogue about it, especially in the spirit of Charlie Kirk's own brave and unyielding model to dialogue about anything, with anyone, any time. Desde hace meses, el Sardinero, uno de los barrios más emblemáticos de Santander, se encuentra en el centro de una creciente preocupación vecinal. La recién constituida Asociación Ciudadana en Defensa del Sardinero ha alzado la voz para denunciar lo que consideran un abandono institucional prolongado que está afectando gravemente a la calidad de vida en la zona.Pablo Coto, portavoz de la asociación, ha explicado en una entrevista concedida a la Cadena SER que “el Sardinero no solo es un barrio, es un símbolo de Santander”, y que los vecinos no pueden seguir “con los brazos cruzados” ante el deterioro de espacios históricos como el Hotel París, la Horadada, el edificio Rema o los bajos de la primera playa de El Sardinero, todos ellos cerrados y en estado de abandono.A estos problemas se suman deficiencias estructurales que afectan al día a día de los vecinos. La falta de iluminación en calles y paseos, especialmente grave en otoño e invierno, genera inseguridad y sensación de abandono. “La iluminación navideña ha sido simbólica en los últimos años, pese a ser uno de los paseos más visitados de la ciudad”, denuncia Coto.

It was an historic day in Israel, a day of euphoria and celebration, that these Christian friends got to experience in person. All the living hostages were released by Hamas and returned to Israel from which they were kidnapped two years ago. The bodies of 28 remaining hostages, most of whom were killed in captivity, are starting to be released. But Hamas is still standing, threatening Israelis and Gazans. 2000 terrorists are being released, 250 of whom are serving one to as many as dozens of life sentences. The victims and family members of these terrorists are scarred. Israelis know that 82% of previous terrorists released have gone back to terror. At the same time, President Trump arrived in Israel and pledged his support and optimism for Israel's future and the region on the whole. Live this experience through their eyes and ears. The Evolution of Libraries and the Link Facility: Dr. Hortt discusses the massive evolution of libraries over the past 25 years, moving away from things like stamped due date cards and VHS/DVDs towards online streaming services and specialized community resources. The new facility, located in Greeley, is called Link (Library and Innovation Center) and encompasses a massive 63,000 square feet. The design for Link was driven by community input that highlighted the need for skills-based development. Key Offerings and Resources: The Link facility combines many resources often found separately in other libraries into one space, including a recording studio, interactive children's areas, and a wood shop. Key features and services mentioned include:Meeting Spaces: The library offers various meeting spaces, including a boardroom (set up for streaming and public use), smaller 2-3 person spaces, and a flexible events center that can hold approximately 300 people.• Cost: All meeting spaces and core library services are free to the public, treated as prepaid services via tax dollars.• Media and Digital Access: The library still carries books (fiction, children's, graphic novels) but relies heavily on digital resources via apps like Hoopla, Libby, and Overdrive for streaming music, movies, audiobooks, and ebooks. Anyone living in the state of Colorado can obtain a library card.• Specialty Checkouts: Patrons can check out specialty items such as laptops, wireless hotspots, and state park passes (allowing free entry into state parks).• Maker Space: The maker space is industrial-grade, featuring equipment like laser cutters, 3D printers, UV printers (capable of printing on items like golf balls), and a sublimation machine. Staff with industry experience are available to teach classes and assist the public with projects.• Certifications: The library is launching a partnership with Snap-on tools (through NC3) to provide hands-on certifications to patrons related to tools and industrial skills.Operational Context and Challenges: The High Plains Library District is a government entity (a special taxing district) funded by property taxes (mill levy), supported by a strong tax base from gas and oil production in Weld County. Although they are exploring using an unstaffed model to become 24/7, they are not currently open around the clock. Genesis 12:3 is a foundational scripture for non-Jews, Christians, to be a blessing to Israel, and for Israel to be a blessing to the families of the world. In June, 2025, 40 young Christian women from America, took a trip of a lifetime to Israel. For most, it was their first time in Israel, but for few of them Israel was not already significant to them personally and specifically as Christians. They visited biblical sites, sites related to modern Israeli history, and memorials along the Gaza border where the sounds of war echoed as they witnessed the aftermath of the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023. They also had many personal encounters with Israelis, making the experience more real, connecting people and faces and their stories to life in Israel today. This inspiring conversation with six of these articulate and passionate women interweaves their experiences. You see the sites through their eyes, and hear their hearts. Some of the best Kodak moments are ones you cannot film. We just came back from hosting a beautiful bar-b-que for pilots and crew who participated in the recent Operation Rising Lion, offering our thanks to them for protecting us, but they could not stop thanking us. This week's guest, distance runner and blogger at runandbebrave.com has faced it all: injuries, setbacks, poor sleep, fatigue, vanishing motivation, hot flashes, and all the joint pain that accompanies the musculoskeletal syndrome of menopause. Through it all, she found a way to keep going, and she believes you can, too. She talks all about how this week.Normi Coto, PhD, is an English teacher by day and a writer by night. She writes about running, writing, prayer, rhetoric, and mindset. A runner since 1983, Normi ran through three pregnancies back when running was misunderstood almost as poorly as women's health. She has run 6 marathons, and is most proud of qualifying for Boston twice, running it once (2001), and finishing her first 50K ultramarathon in 2023 in Washington D.C. at the age of 54. Normi's PhD dissertation was Persuasion by Word of Foot: A Rhetorical-Ontological Inquiry into Barefoot Running as a Health Practice–a practice she has found helpful for resolving her own stubborn running injuries. 2024 was her hardest year yet when she ran straight into menopause. But she's still going.
