We're still surprised people did this but... 50+ founders worth $10M to $4B reveal their personal finances. Here it is: https://joinhampton.com/mw-wrWhy do we do this? Because if you're an aspirational person or someone who runs a business and is making money, it's incredibly challenging to figure out what to do. Information is impossible to find — and that's what we put together: the net worth reveal and why we do this podcast, Moneywise. He spends $50,000 a month and keeps $50,000 in the bank. He's 27.Mo Moahid is a 27-year-old who runs the finances for his entire family — parents, brother, sister, and seven operating companies across Canada, Dubai, and Pakistan. His great-grandfather built the family fortune. The next generation lost it. His dad rebuilt the whole thing from a sales job after immigrating to Canada, and Mo grew up watching both halves of that cycle happen in his own house. He started his first company at 18, scaled it to 200 employees, sold it at 21 for low seven figures, and now moves capital between line painting, real estate development, consumer electronics, eSIMs in 125 countries, and the AI company he started with his 21-year-old brother. This episode gets into what it actually looks like to manage generational money instead of making it: why he keeps almost nothing liquid, how a $50,000 monthly burn covers five people, what happens when your dad is the chairman and your brother is your co-founder, and how inheritance gets split between three siblings before anyone dies. We go deep on the acquisition he closed the week before we recorded, the corporate job his father made him take, and the question he's already thinking about at 27 — what he wants his own kids to inherit, and what he'd rather they didn't.Also, this podcast is made by Hampton, which is a community for founders doing on average $20 million a year in revenue. We saw a lot of these money conversations happening privately behind closed doors and we thought, "What the heck, let's make it public." Once you've booked your trip to New York City, there are important things you can do before you come to help make your trip run more smoothly and be more enjoyable. So if you've already booked your flights and are getting excited to come to NYC, let's dive into seven things you should do right now before landing in New York City.1- Set Up a Transit Card in Digital WalletIn 2026, every subway turnstile in New York City accepts tap-to-pay through the OMNY system. While you can just use a tap-to-pay-enabled credit or debit card, it is often easier and faster to use your phone.Whether you have an iPhone or Android phone, there is also a way to set up a rapid transit card. The directions vary for each device. Essentially, you go into the settings, find your digital wallet, choose the transit or rapid transit option, and set your default card. When you do this, you can tap your phone up to the tap-to-pay reader at the subway turnstile without opening your wallet or using your face or Touch ID. This is a much more efficient way to get through the subway turnstile.2- Read the Transportation GuideNew York City is a massive metropolis with five boroughs and loads of different neighborhoods and attractions. Getting around NYC can feel overwhelming, especially if you're new to big cities. Our Ultimate NYC Transportation Guide covers everything you need to know, including:Getting to and from the major airportsRiding the subwayHailing taxisWalking around the cityBikingSo much moreIt is 100% free. Head here to get this must-have guide, and then, of course, read it before you come to New York City.3- Activities You Should Book in AdvanceWhile there's a seemingly endless supply of things to do in New York City, some of the more popular attractions can sell out or book up well in advance. Here are some activities you should book in advance to ensure you can go:Broadway showsRestaurantsComedy showsJazz clubGuided tours4- Buy and Break in Comfortable Walking ShoesArguably, the most important item on the NYC packing list is the shoes you will wear every day. You will likely walk anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 steps per day or more. While many people anticipate walking around to different locations, many attractions, like museums, also involve a lot of walking.Prioritize comfortable shoes and make sure that whatever shoes you choose and bring are already broken in and comfortable for miles of walking each day.5- Download Helpful AppsIn the digital age, apps are a must-have for travel experiences. Many apps will hold tickets for the events you'll be attending, provide information vital to your day-to-day travels in New York City, and even help you get around. Our full list of the best apps for NYC travel is a must-read.6- Figure Out a Phone PlanFor international travelers, your phone plan from your home country may not work well in the United States. While Wi-Fi is Available in many places, it's a good idea to have a reliable phone connection. eSIMs are one of the best ways to do this.I personally used Saily on a recent trip to France and had a wonderful experience overall. Use my code DEVINL9611 at checkout to get US$5.00 off a regular plan or US$10.00 off an Ultra plan. 7- Determine If You'll Get a City PassOur full NYC pass comparison article is an extremely helpful tool, as you did, for deciding whether you need an attraction pass. The article has a comparison table, pros and cons of each popular pass, and even an interactive quiz to help you choose the right one. You'll Have to Check It Out - O'Hara'sWant even more NYC insights? This month on Laura Flanders & Friends we're lifting up the people, the stories, and the ideas driving disability justice forward. This week we celebrate the life and legacy of Alice Wong with two of her closest collaborators, reflecting on the movement she helped to build. This show is made possible by you! To become a sustaining member go to LauraFlanders.org/donate Description: Alice Wong lived longer than she expected, but not long enough. The celebrated disability activist lived by the principle that disability justice is integral to all liberation movements, and centered disabled stories with the Disability Visibility Project. When Alice Wong died on November 14 at the age of 51, people across social movements shared their grief and awe for her work, such as her bestselling 2022 memoir, “Year of the Tiger: An Activist's Life”. She has been called an oracle, visionary, unapologetic and fearless, and our guests, Wong's dear friends and collaborators, are committed to lifting up her legacy. Sandy Ho is the Executive Director of the Disability & Philanthropy Forum and partner with Alice Wong and Mia Mingus in the Access is Love campaign. She was asked by Alice Wong to post her letter after she passed, where Wong writes “. . . our wisdom is incisive and unflinching.” Steven Thrasher is an acclaimed journalist, professor and author of “The Viral Underclass: The Human Toll When Inequality & Disease Collide”. He was suspended from teaching classes after speaking out — as Wong also did — on Palestine. Join us as we celebrate Alice Wong and ask what is the work to be done when it comes to healthcare and civil rights for disabled people. Plus a commentary from Laura on imagining the next 100 years. “A lot of Alice's advocacy was focused around the systems that force disabled people to be at the margins . . . Whether it is the Black Lives Matter movement or the pandemic, we see the ways in which our society and political systems respond, and not in ways that prioritize those who are least privileged and have the least amount of power.” - Sandy Ho “I remember talking to [Alice Wong] about the ways she had been conditioned as a disabled Asian American woman to try to accept crumbs, to not complain, to be very docile. I thought that she was really brilliant in bridging together not just Asian American communities, but queer communities, LGBTQ communities, all the communities where your body is made to feel like it doesn't belong.” - Steven Thrasher Guests: • Sandy Ho: Executive Director, Disability & Philanthropy Forum • Steven Thrasher: Daniel Renberg Chair of Social Justice in Reporting, Northwestern University; Author, The Viral Underclass & The Overseer Class *Recommended books: “Year of the Tiger: An Activist's Life” by Alice Wong, *Get the book “The Viral Underclass: The Human Toll When Inequality and Disease Collide” by Steven Thrasher, *Get the book (*Bookshop is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores. International travel is magical... until you're standing in the airport realizing your passport expires next month, your phone doesn't work, and you have no idea whether you should pay in dollars or the local currency. This week on Grown Up Stuff, Matt and Lea are joined by full-time traveler Jordan Tually to answer all the questions you don't think to ask until it's way too late. They cover passports and visas, travel insurance that's actually worth buying, eSIMs, currency exchange, packing smarter (yes, you can probably leave half your clothes at home), avoiding common travel mistakes, the tricks that can help you beat jet lag, and most importantly, how not to get banned from traveling in the Schengen Area. Whether you're planning your first trip abroad or just hoping this is the vacation where nothing goes sideways, consider this your ultimate guide to traveling a little smarter and a lot less stressed.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Also ging es direkt los. In this very special recording Jeannette finds herself in an entrepreneur panel powerhouse, moderating an impactful, insightful conversation from the Festival Of Entrepreneurs Together, they pull back the curtain on the gritty reality of scaling a startup into an international brand, discussing everything from the necessity of regulatory compliance to the emotional resilience required to survive the "frogs" and rejections of the fundraising world. You'll Learn Why: Starting with full regulatory compliance from day one is essential for businesses in regulated industries Understanding your unit economics, cost to market, and customer spend is non-negotiable Successful fundraising often requires kissing a lot of frogs, with some founders reporting a 98% rejection rate In new categories, founders must move away from having all the answers and instead remain flexible This episode is living proof that no matter where you're starting from — or what life throws at you — it's never too late to be brave, bold, and unlock your inner brilliant. Jeannette to talks to Pablo Gomez, the CEO of Holafly, the global leader in eSIMs for travellers, to talk about the inspiring story of Holafly's journey, from its humble beginnings to its current status as a leader in the digital eSIM market. They examine the importance of staying connected while traveling, the challenges of scaling a startup, and the personal reflections that drive Pablo's leadership style, focussing on the significance of aligning business missions with personal values and the transformative impact of technology, particularly AI, on the future of travel and connectivity You'll Learn Why: Their service addresses the modern traveler's need for reliable connectivity, which has become essential rather than a luxury. The focus remains on enhancing the customer experience Moving from CFO to CEO involves a significant shift in responsibilities, requiring a broader perspective on the entire organisation Personal experiences, such as overcoming a life-threatening accident, can profoundly shape one's perspective on life and career This episode is living proof that no matter where you're starting from — or what life throws at you — it's never too late to be brave, bold, and unlock your inner brilliant. Synopsis: In a powerful tribute to a fearless leader, friends and collaborators share stories of Alice Wong's unwavering commitment to centering disabled voices and challenging systemic inequality in all its forms. This show is made possible by you! To become a sustaining member go to LauraFlanders.org/donateDescription: Alice Wong lived longer than she expected, but not long enough. Plus a commentary from Laura on imagining the next 100 years.“A lot of Alice's advocacy was focused around the systems that force disabled people to be at the margins . . . Whether it is the Black Lives Matter movement or the pandemic, we see the ways in which our society and political systems respond, and not in ways that prioritize those who are least privileged and have the least amount of power.” - Sandy Ho“I remember talking to [Alice Wong] about the ways she had been conditioned as a disabled Asian American woman to try to accept crumbs, to not complain, to be very docile. I thought that she was really brilliant in bridging together not just Asian American communities, but queer communities, LGBTQ communities, all the communities where your body is made to feel like it doesn't belong.” - Steven ThrasherGuests:• Sandy Ho: Executive Director, Disability & Philanthropy Forum• Steven Thrasher: Daniel Renberg Chair of Social Justice in Reporting, Northwestern University; Author, The Viral Underclass & The Overseer Class*Recommended books:“Year of the Tiger: An Activist's Life” by Alice Wong, *Get the book“The Viral Underclass: The Human Toll When Inequality and Disease Collide” by Steven Thrasher, *Get the book(*Bookshop is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores. I thought that she was really brilliant in bridging together not just Asian American communities, but queer communities, LGBTQ communities, all the communities where your body is made to feel like it doesn't belong.” - Steven ThrasherGuests:• Sandy Ho: Executive Director, Disability & Philanthropy Forum• Steven Thrasher: Daniel Renberg Chair of Social Justice in Reporting, Northwestern University; Author, The Viral Underclass & The Overseer Class *Recommended books:“Year of the Tiger: An Activist's Life” by Alice Wong, *Get the book“The Viral Underclass: The Human Toll When Inequality and Disease Collide” by Steven Thrasher, *Get the book(*Bookshop is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores. Note: This episode was originally released September 27th, 2024 and is being aired today as we mark two years since the escalation of genocide in Palestine; we are sharing it again in particular for the guided facilitation portion that begins at 45:00. Additionally, this week's public episode on Thursday will be our discussion with organizers of Workshops for Gaza, which we are currently transcribing to accompany its release. That episode can be found here https://www.patreon.com/posts/140536777 Original description: Beatrice speaks with Rasha Abdulhadi about how it is vital to remain steadfast in our demands for Palestinian liberation. We discuss turning away from despair towards patience and boldness in our actions, why our demands must push for and beyond “ceasefire,” and draw connections between settler colonialism here and in Palestine; inviting us all to become more skillful in keeping each other alive. “To boldly go where no SIM has gone before.” That was the theme at the Advantix booth during ScanSource Partner First, where Ansley Hoke, Senior Vice President of ScanSource's Integrated Solutions Group (ISG), joined Doug Green, Publisher of Technology Reseller News, to discuss the company's expanding role in wireless connectivity. Hoke explained that Advantix, now part of ScanSource's ISG, is the multi-carrier wireless connectivity arm of the business, designed to help partners extend connectivity beyond the four walls with WAN-enabled devices. Through ScanSource's distribution facilities, partners can provision physical SIMs or eSIMs directly into devices, kit them, and ship them to end customers—streamlining deployment and reducing friction. The integration of Advantix into ISG reflects ScanSource's commitment to delivering recurring revenue services and enabling partners to compete more effectively in the growing mobility market. With Advantix's always-on, multi-carrier SmartSIM technology, end users are assured seamless connectivity regardless of carrier or coverage area. To simplify adoption, Advantix provides a full suite of enablement resources and training videos, alongside a revamped website to support partners with onboarding and activation. As Hoke emphasized, “It is really seamless on being able to onboard quickly and get the activations working out of the box.” For more information, visit scansource.com or explore resources directly at advantixsolutions.com.

Sociologist and political economist Will Davies joins the show to talk about his recent forays into Faragist TikTok, and what it tells us about Britain's online habits, and how it's influencing contemporary politics. Will talks to us about how the For You Page became the dominant organisational system for using social media, and how this has created an anti-social environment. He also explains how online induced paranoia seeped into the real world, convincing people that they are being scammed and persistently lied to, resulting in an angrier, more confrontational politics that nobody, including Nigel Farage, knows how to contain or control in the long term.
