In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania shoppers who set out to do some holiday shopping instead witnessed a horrific crime. Two security guards were attacked after a man attempted to shoplift from a Macy's store in Center City. 27-year-old Eric Harrison was fatally stabbed in the neck, and another security guard was treated for stab wounds in the face and arm. Officials have identified and arrested 30-year-old Tyrone Tunnell, who now faces multiple charges including murder, attempted murder, and aggravated assault. For as long as I can remember, giving back has been a part of what is important to me. Throughout my life, I have volunteered many hours to help in my community with organizations that are doing phenomenal work. The truth is that I volunteer, not because I am a good person. I do it for very selfish reasons. Giving back reminds me how blessed I am and makes me feel good.When I have been too focused on myself and not giving to others, I begin to focus on my empty cup and a life lacking the shine we sometimes feel it should have. We also want to impact the world through our work alone. Giving back can remind us that what we are doing is also impacting outside our inner circle and keeping us on track to our goals. Andy Taylor was a professional footballer for nearly 10 years starting at Manchester United and then moving on to Exeter City. He completed a Foundation Degree in Sports Performance at the University of Bath in Sports Performance and a First Class honours degree in Strength and Conditioning at the University of Plymouth St Mark & St John. This combined with his practical work with young athletes over the last 6 years based at Ivybridge Community College has allowed him to put this knowledge in to action.
