Justin and Dan open the show talking about their psychotic fantasy baseball league. The actual sports conversation starts at 15:07, as the guys talk about Auburn basketball's SEC/ACC Challenge matchup at Duke. They look at what the game means for the program and what a showdown between two very different rosters might look like in December. Then they switch over to football, where Eric Winters' commitment leads off a conversation about the hot summer for recruiting. They talk about the local flavor of the top of the class, how Auburn is taking advantage of the changes at Alabama and why the rebuild is more than just talent acquisition. The episode ends with Justin wanting to talk about peanuts and Painter putting out one of his best closing questions to date.If you're receiving this free podcast episode and would like to upgrade to a paid subscription that gives you access to all stories and premium podcast episodes, subscribe using the button below or clicking this link.Follow Dan (@dnpck), Justin (@JFergusonAU) and Painter (@paintsharpless) on Twitter.Photo Credit: Eric Winters/Instagram This is a public episode. Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones, Henry Patton, Jay G. Tate and special guest BOB MAPPLETHORPE reconvene at VooDoo to discuss important happenings in and around the Auburn program, which centers almost wholly on the major recruiting work being done right now. Auburn played host to 12 official visitors last weekend — with the teem's newest commit, safety Eric Winters, in tow as well. It's been a remarkable month from a recruiting perspective. Caleb and B-Matt provide some sharp analysis about what's happened and what's to come. The crew also dicusses the basketball team's trip to Duke for the SEC-ACC Challenge, Butch Thompson's seven portal additions and thoughts on Auburn's new softball coaches. Can they get it done? Lettuce discuss. The show ends with a data-center sized load of electric salutations and shoutouts for the most outstanding members (this week) from The Bunker community. Great folks and a great community! The show is presented by VooDoo Wing Company with locations in Auburn, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, Florence, Charlotte and Las Vegas. What if you knew when you were going to die? Would you change the way you live? Would you make different choices that reflect the fact that you now KNOW your time is limited? Author & Leadership Coach Eric Winters shares with us the hard, cold fact that our time is indeed, limited...whether we'd like to acknowledge that or not...it is, in actuality, the fact. Eric prompts us to acknowledge this truth so that we can start to embrace life today rather than waiting for that moment when our time is cut short with a death sentence or we wake up due to a traumatic experience. You have the power to make this decision NOW and live your most fulfilled life by getting clear on the reality that every single minute of life is a gift and worth our attention and gratitude. Leading by example is not a cliché. What is misunderstood is that it starts within. We actually fear ourselves because we are accustomed to being distracted. The world is filled with messages that tell us that we are not enough and so we believe it's true. It's not. Eric Winters is a true motivational leader. He coaches people and to lead themselves to make their teams better. It's an interesting dichotomy because it started within but its benefits are without. He believes that it is a true skill that can be trained. Everyone has the potential to practice autonomy while also accepting the input of the people around them. This is the ultimate diversity of thought and best way to lead. You can find show notes and more information by clicking here: https://www.bobdepasquale.com/podcast/86

In this inspiring interview, I have an amazing conversation with
“What you are struggling to do is one thing at once.” It was wonderful chatting with Eric Winters who is a self-leadership coach, black-belt hand-washer, speaker, and author with deep knowledge in the science of building courageous and emotionally intelligent mindsets. The topics we touched on: His brilliant “ultimate gratitude exercise” to dial up your experience of gratitude. How everyday we choose how we are going to be, and what qualities we are going to embody. How can we manage our minds, reduce our impulsivity and avoidance, and dial up our intentionality? How to access and produce your “hope molecules”. What is defiant gratitude? Why being kind moves us into an empowered state. Quotes “Before we can lead others successfully...we need to manage our own focus, our energy, and our ability to choose to do the right thing even when it is the right thing.” “Meditation might be one of the top 3 things I have discovered in my life.” “‘We are taught to experience the lack in life.” “Everything we do in our life, we will do it, at some point, for the last time.” “We really need to reclaim ownership of our attention.” More from Eric: Eric is a self-leadership coach, black-belt hand-washer, speaker, and author with deep knowledge in the science of building courageous and emotionally intelligent mindsets. The Ideas and Concepts Mastermind (Facebook Group)SecondMix.netmatt@secondmix.netThis is a special day - something I've never quite done before. On Thursday, I did a book jam episode on the book Swipe Right On Your Best Self by author and leadership coach Eric Winters, and today I got to interview the author himself. In our brief conversation, he covers so much ground - self-leadership, the normality of anxiety, taking things one day and one step at a time, positive thinking, and so much more. The Ideas and Concepts Mastermind (Facebook Group)SecondMix.netmatt@secondmix.netBook Jam - A review, summary, of Eric Winter's book Swipe Right On Your Best Self. It's so hard to categorize life in a way that makes sense. Life is too big to fit into a little container that we can study and understand it. That's why there are so many books on the topic – too many for me to read in a lifetime, though I'll still try. I like to study the way authors categorize things in their own minds and try to make it simple for the readers, and Winters does a brilliant job of both – made even better by the wide variety of concepts he covers. ericwinters.comSwipe Right on Your Best Self

Self-leadership coach, speaker and author Eric Winters joins the show all the way from Sydney, Australia today to deep dive into his passion for the human mind and self leadership. Together, they discuss why it is important to lead ourselves before we lead others, why not learning to manage your mind could see you being swept away in directions not of your choosing and why fire in the belly is what inspires and excites you. KEY TAKEAWAYS Before we go on to lead others and try to get the best out of them, we have first got to attend to ourselves. We need to manage our own mind so that we can meet challenges more effectively. One way that we are able to manage our minds effectively is by cultivating a helpful relationship to the self. If we get caught up in the ‘I' then our ability to choose what we are going to do is diminished. It is helpful to talk about ‘the self' as something we can be in a relationship with as it gives us greater choice in life. If we leave managing our mind to chance we will be swept away by both our biology and messaging within our cultures. These messages train us relentlessly to conform, buy and stay feeling good at all costs. By not learning to manage our minds we will be swept away in directions not of our choosing. If we are going to author our own lives and take a path of our choosing, it is going to require courage and skills to manage our minds. We need to learn how to choose for ourselves and know what we want to do whether our broader culture likes it or not. We have multiple experiences at the same time. It is possible to be excited about something, and worried. Our inner worlds are like orchestras, there are many instruments in an orchestra and some of them are very loud but if you listen closely, there are still some others playing lightly in the background. Fire in the belly is what inspires you, excites you and what gets you up and going in the morning. BEST MOMENTS “ Take care of yourself first before you seek to influence others.” “How is it that some people can manage themselves so well under huge pressure and others can't?” “I am nourished by making discoveries.” “I am inspired to be the best version of a partner I possibly can be.” ABOUT THE GUEST Eric Winters : “I'm a self-leadership coach, speaker and author with deep knowledge in the science of building courageous and emotionally intelligent mindsets.” Website : https://www.ericwinters.com.au/about/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ericwinterscomau/?originalSubdomain=au ABOUT THE HOST The ‘Mighty Pete Lonton' from the ‘Mighty 247' company is your main host of ‘Fire In The Belly'. Eric Winters is a self-leadership coach and author of Swipe Right on Your Best Self which answers the question: how do we avoid the number one regret of the dying? The book is super straightforward with three hurdles we need to overcome, three ways to prepare the body, three ways to prepare the mind, and seven steps at the end to encourage behavior change towards being our authentic selves. But most importantly to me is that it is evidence-based and offers actionable tactics. In this conversation we dive into questions I had about the book and actually make a lot of connections to Stoic philosophy. We talk about how junk values from culture, that we've blindly adopted as our own, get in our way. We talk about how to use the reality of our mortality to motivate us towards action. We cover the importance of self-compassion and how it helps us achieve our goals. We strip away the hippie lingo of mindfulness and chat about why it's such an important tool to train attention. And, as you could guess, there's a whole lot more. Full show notes here at chrismcgrory.net
In this episode of Living The Retirement Lifestyle Podcast we ask Eric Winters, self-leadership coach, speaker and author of Swipe Right On Your Best Self to share his thoughts on entrepreneurship in retirement and what stops us from pursuing our biggest dreams in life... The challenges, fear and courage and the three critical foundations to being 'fit for purpose' https://vimeo.com/568830688 We had such a great chat today with our guest Eric Winters on Living The Retirement Lifestyle Podcast and how the quality of our lives depends on how well we meet our challenges - the ones we choose and the ones that choose us. Like us Eric had a defining moment during a business trip and a drive from Sydney to Canberra and gave up his international corporate life to pursue his passion for teaching self-leadership skills. The Three Critical Foundations To Being Fit For Purpose Whilst you might not think SLEEP, EXERCISE & DIET are relevant then listen in. Exercise as we discussed is The HOPE Molecule and if we think about the instruction we received from the government in the UK during our national lockdown due to the pandemic in 2020 - daily exercise was the ONE thing we were advised we should do. Certainly we can look back on 2020 and it was our daily walk that gave us hope for the future and got us through the weeks and months that followed when our whole retirement lifestyle business model was challenged! The message truly is that we can meet challenges and pursue our biggest reams in life - the quality of our lives depends to a large extent on how well we meet our challenges - the ones we choose and the ones that choose us! "Small daily choices can have profoundly positive impacts" We've lots more to cover with Eric so we'll be sure to invite him back to continue the conversation You can find him here on his website as well as links to his social media Swipe Right On Your Best Self his entertaining and inspiring book about what stops us from pursuing our biggest dreams in life and and tackles some big questions in a light-hearted way and we're sure you're going to love it ❤️ Thanks for joining us for another Living The Retirement Lifestyle Podcast and we look forward to reading your comments
