THE KELLY CARDENAS PODCAST PRESENTS Eddie George was announced as the 22nd head football coach at Tennessee State University on April 13, 2021.  "I am excited about being named head coach at Tennessee State University," said George. “All I have done has prepared me for this moment, whether that's my football career, my entrepreneurial endeavors, my acting career. Coaching is a full commitment, a duty of service. I take that seriously. I've done a lot of soul searching and due diligence. The more I thought about it, I got more and more excited about it. It was like picking up an old guitar or getting back on a bike, it's familiar but in a different capacity. It's exciting. I'm going to be innovative, creative and fun."  George played college football for Ohio State University and won the Heisman in 1995. That season, George rushed for a school record 1,927 yards and 24 touchdowns, an average of 148.23 yards per game, while also catching 47 passes for 417 yards and another score. He left Ohio State second in school history in career rushing yards (3,768) and third in rushing touchdowns (44). The Philadelphia native finished with 4,284 all-purpose yards, 45 touchdowns, and a 5.5 yards-per-carry average.  In 1996, George was the first-round draft selection of the then-Houston Oilers. He won the NFL Rookie of the Year award that season, and was the Oilers/Titans' starting tailback through 2003, never missing a start. He made the Pro Bowl four consecutive years (1997–2000), and assisted the Titans to a championship appearance in Super Bowl XXXIV.  George is only the second NFL running back to rush for 10,000 yards while never missing a start, joining Jim Brown. Only Walter Payton (170) started more consecutive regular season games than George's 130.  In 2004, George signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys where he started eight games and finished the season with 432 yards and four touchdowns. He officially retired in 2006.  George's career totals include 10,441 rushing yards, 268 receptions, 2,227 receiving yards, and 78 touchdowns (68 rushing and 10 receiving). George was inducted in the College Hall of Fame in 2011 and the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and a board member of Music City Baseball.  A native of Philadelphia, George graduated from Ohio State in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture. 19-year-old Faith Hedgepeth, a proud member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe, was born and raised in North Carolina alongside her mother and three siblings - her parents having separated shortly after Faith's birth in 1992. At high school, Faith was a well-liked and intelligent student who studied hard to achieve her life-long goal of being the first member of her family to graduate university. She was an honor student and subsequently received the Gates Millennium scholarship, made specifically to help ethnic minorities in the US afford their studies. Faith then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and hoped to become a teacher or paediatrician following graduation. During her studies, Faith lived in an apartment with Karena 'Rosie' Rosario, her friend since freshman year, and Rosie's boyfriend, Eriq Takoy Jones. Rosie and Eriq's relationship was turbulent and plagued by domestic violence. After a time, Rosie decided to end the relationship following advice given to her by Faith, and the pair went to get a protective order. Eriq became threatened by the influence Faith had over his relationship with Rosie, but despite this, he tried numerous times to reconcile with Rosario - though not in legal ways, attempting to break into their apartment at least twice. Tensions were high between the girls and Jones, which led many to believe that he was responsible for the horrific events of September 6th and September 7th 2012. That night, Faith attended an event set up by the Alpha Pi Omega sorority in the hopes to join the Native American sorority, but after some time, Faith and Rosie went to the university library to work on some papers before returning to their apartment to change and headed out to a local club. Rosie took unwell and the girls left in the early hours of September 7th, returning to the apartment complex around 3am. Between 3:40 and 4:25, a number of texts were send from Faith's phone and Rosie's, to Rosario's ex and a friend. The friend picked Rosie up from the apartment around 4:25, she herself believing Faith to be asleep, she left the door unlocked. Rosario stayed the night at her friends before trying to contact Faith to give her a lift home, but she didn't answer. Upon Rosie's arrival alongside another acquaintance at approximately 11am, they found Faith's lifeless body under a quilt on her bed, partially nude and covered in blood. They immediately contacted police. Many suspected Eriq of killing Faith following the pair being at constant loggerheads, but after analysing the DNA found at the scene, it did not belong to him. This week I review the newest Hallmark film called A Second Chance at Love starring Eriq Lasalle, Gloria Reuben, Alvina August and Jarod Joseph. I have to say it was great to see Eriq and Gloria on my screen together again. It had been almost 30 years since their ER days. And they look good.  Let's start a petition for them to be on more Hallmark movies. Lol. This movie was in my opinion about cutting the umbilical cord. Children, when you're married and have your own family, I think it's time to start letting your parents make their own decisions and live their own lives while you concentrate on yours. Lol. It is also about well as the title claims it to be a second chance at love. I liked this movie. It had me laughing. The chemistry between Eriq and Gloria was smoking. And I honestly think, as irritating Alicia was at certain points in the movie, Alvina carried this movie well. She held her own with such TV legends. Lol.
