Welcome to my podcast... "On The Fly" It's been a long time coming, but I bet you never gave it a second thought! My first guest is one of the first people I stumbled across online who helped me realise that using a mobile phone for photography or filmmaking was legitimate. I'd been using my mobile in this way for 5 or 6 years at this point and Jack's Twitter feed and e-news letters were an oasis of both inspiration and validation. I met him in at MoJoFest 2019. Today (Wednesday 13 May, as I write) would have been MoJoFest 2020. So to commemorate I set myself the deadline of posting not one but two podcasts. This is the Apple flavour – Jack has a history with the phones and the company. Episode 2 will be Tim Bingham – street photographer extraordinaire – who is a fan of "the Android". Both make stunning work with their tools of choice so no-one has an excuse not to be inspired and go out and be creative. Song of the week – It has to be "Going Mobile" by The Who. Dedicated to Jack who, after 30 years as a pro, DSLR man, switched to mobile and hasn't looked back. In our chat he explains why and his hopes for the future of mobile photography. Jack's recommendations: FiLMiC First Light photo app – available for both Apple and Android in their respective stores. www.FiLMiCPro.com Movies and music, anything epic! Gladiator (15), Lord of The Rings (12A) My recommendation for all you homeworkers... Hanz Zimmer live in Prague – available to stream on both Netflix (video) and Amazon Prime (audio). Jack Hollingsworth/bio Jack Hollingsworth is one of the most recognized names in Travel, Lifestyle and Portrait photography today. His client list includes some of the biggest names in Travel, Leisure and Hospitality-American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Marriott, Intercontinental Hotels, Emerald Waterways, Silversea Crusies, Star Clippers, ITC Hotels (India), to name a few. Over the course of his 4-decade, award-winning career as a commercial photographer, Jack has owned and operated studios in India, Singapore, Boston and Austin. Hollingsworth was recently ranked in Eyefi’s "Top 100 Most Socially Influential Photographers" and in Chillisauce’s 2019 "Top 100 Travel Photographers of the World” https://chillisauce.com/blog/post-5ea5e4e9bd05b7643419 More recently, since 2011, Jack has fallen in love with his iPhone camera as his primary capture tool. Jack is an accomplished Portraiturist. He photographs people... with his beloved iPhone camera: https://vimeo.com/271596955 His work has appeared in Apple’s #ShotOniPhone campaign, “The Human Family", narrated by Maya Angelou: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9adfIFfYaCM Family man.
