Composer Mark Yaeger has composed original music, written songs, played solo instruments, and produced the score on over 30 Hollywood and independent films. Additionally, he is a long-time composer collaborator with Klaus Badelt. FAR CRY 5 - INSIDE EDEN'S GATE is one of Yaeger's most recent projects. Released on March 5, 2018 -and is a short-film released directly to Amazon Prime Video. The short was designed as back-story to the video game FAR CRY 5 which released a few weeks after on March 27, 2018. When rumors of a fanatical cult in Hope County, Montana begin to swirl, three vloggers take it upon themselves to investigate what's really going on. As they track down missing locals and probe into other strange events, they eventually encounter Joseph Seed, the leader of The Project of Eden's Gate cult and the man behind all the unusual activities in Hope County. In this episode of The Annotator, Mark Yaeger talks about writing an original score for the short-film that would paint the antagonist of the video game, FAR CRY 5, in a different light. Far Cry 5 is out in the wild (get it... wild), and we're reviewing it, as well as talking Sea of Theives issues, a new Star Wars game (maybe), PS Plus free games, Switch free games, and the obligatory dick joke. Becuase that's how we are. Enjoy.

What is touted as one of the greatest games of all time is back for a full remake on PS4: Shadow of the Colossus. We play through half of it and share our first and returning impressions on this game that wasn't a huge hit, but created a cult following for years to come. Team Ico created this game after their first game, Ico. They then went on to create The Last Guardian that released last year. We also play the new indie title Aegis Defenders which combines platforming with tower defense elements. We had them on the podcast in episode 131 and we're quite impressed with the final outcome. We also have some positive words to say after diving deeper into the story on Celeste. In the news this week, Supercell makes a bunch of money without releasing a new game, Overwatch League brings on their first female player and Atari is getting into cryptocurrency. We also talk about the possible Spyro the Dragon Remaster coming later this year and some crazy stories surrounding PlayerUnknown's: Battlegrounds. Here's the link to our naked man conversation. Our discussion is all about evolving video game franchises. We look at games like Fortnite and Borderlands and how they evolved over time before they even launched. We also look at post-launch changes with games like Far Cry and Saint's Row. Each one had its ups and downs but it's interesting to explore the inner workings of a studio and why they make the decisions they make when building a game. Far Cry 5 got a new trailer just seconds before we recorded this episode so we entered the studio giddy with thoughts of hillbilly jug-bands murders. Krupa also discusses the rollercoaster romp that is The Keepers, Joe's loving him a bit of Injustice 2 and Gav admits he was wrong about Master of None.  Plus, lots of drunken feedback, and the best listener-submitted Keyword Countdown EVER.
